MERRY CHRISTMAS I UPDATED

Jazmine had trouble falling asleep the following night. Her argument with Huey continued to play in her head everytime she shut her eyes. All she could do was think about where her relationship with Huey was going. She felt like she was in high school all over again. Her and Huey always had their stupid, petty, little arguments. They ended up forgetting what they were arguing about an hour later. However, they were kids back then. Now they are adults with a child to think about.

Ever since Jazmine was a little girl, she had been planning her wedding. She always pictured the beautiful white wedding dress at a Church, moving into a big beautiful house, then starting a family. Her life was heading in the opposite direction. She had a baby before she was ready, she was kicked out of Church, and the big beautiful wedding doesn't sound as perfect as it used to be. Things were different now. Maybe she should just get married to Huey for their daughter's sake? They could just go to the courthouse and get it over with.

Jazmine decided to push her thoughts to the side. She needed to get the kids ready to go see Cindy in the hospital. She got out of bed and switched from her pajamas into a dark long sleeve shirt and some jeggings. She left the bedroom to see Lela and Justin watching Spongebob on the tv.

"Morning guys." Jazmine greeted.

"Morning mommy."

"Mornin Aunty Jazzy"

"You guys eat breakfast?" Jazmine asked.

"Yes, Uncle Huey made eggs." Justin said. "I ate them all!"

"Good Job." Jazmine praised. "Where is Uncle Huey?"

"Shower." They replied in unison.

"Gotcha. " Jazmine responded and went into the kitchen to grab a banana. She felt a wave of nausea crash through her stomach. She looked in the medicine cabinet for any nausea medication. To no avail, she could not find any. "How could this girl go nine months without taking nausea medications?" She asked herself. She stopped looking when she heard the doorbell ring. She sighed and went to open the door.

"Hey Lions mane." Caesar smilled. "Damn girl, you look green."

"Thanks for that." Jazmine rolled her eyes. "Come on in."

Caesar stepped into the home. "Where are my God Kids?"

"In the living room." Jazmine replied, her tone sounding uneasy.

"You okay?" Caesar looked at Jazmine, concerned. "You look like you're about to hurl.

"...Cuz I am." Jazmine said before quickly turning to the trash can to vomit. Caesar ran over to hold Jazmine's hair and rub her back. Once she finished throwing up, Caesar reached into his wallet and gave her a mint. "Thanks." Jazmine breathed heavily and leaned over the trash can. Caesar continued to rub her back.

"Ahem."

Jazmine and Caesar looked up to see Huey glaring at the two of them. "Why do you always walk in on us at the worst time?" Caesar asked.

"The better question is, why are your hands on my girlfriend?" Huey continued to glare at him.

"I was puking and Caesar was just holding my back." Jazmine rolled her eyes.

"You feeling okay?" Huey asked, his glare turning into concern.

"I will be.." Jazmine turned to Caesar. "Can you take the kids to see Cindy? I don't want to see the baby if I'm sick."

"No problem Jazzy. " Caesar smiled.

"Thanks...my keys are on the kitchen table." Jazmine said faintly.

"Here." Huey walked over and put his arm around Jazmine. "Let's lay you down on the couch."

Jazmine followed Huey into the living room.

"Mommy?" Lela asked. "What's wrong?"

"Mommy is sick." Huey replied, laying Jazmine down on the couch. "She just needs to rest."

"Caesar is going to see you to meet the baby." Jazmine managed to give her a small smile. "Don't worry, Mommy will be okay."

"Okay." Lela blew Jazmine a kiss. "Feel better mommy."

Jazmine smiled and blew a kiss back. When Caesar left with the children, Jazmine and Huey were alone again. You could touch the tension with a knife. Huey took a deep breath before speaking. "I'm sorry."

"For what?: Jazmine looked up.

"Last night." Huey held her hand. "I did some thinking last night, and you're right. It's not fair for me to keep stringing you along, especially since we have a daughter."

"What are you trying to say?"

Huey took a deep breath, "I am about to get real sappy here. Jazmine, I love you. I know I fucked up a lot in the past, especially when I left you and Lela. There isn't a single day that goes by where I don't regret leaving you two. However, I know that I want to spend the rest of my life making it up to you, and show you how much I love and cherish you."

"Huey…" Jazmine teared up. "That is the sweetest thing you have ever said to me."

"I know...I was going to take you out and uhm ...pick out an engagement ring-"

"ENGAGEMENT RING!?" Jazmine gasped. "You mean-"

"Jazmine Elizabeth DuBois ...whenever you feel better and take you out ring shopping, will you...marry me?" Huey managed to say choke out. Jazmine couldn't help but roll her eyes.

"Yes." Jazmine smiled. "I will marry you." She managed to sit up and wrap her arms around Huey. Her morning sickness was replaced with pure happiness and love. "I love you so much!"

"I love you too." Huey placed his hands on her waist. "Last time I am being sappy to you ever again."

"Oh well." Jazmine shrugged. "Sooo can we go shopping right now?"

No." Huey laid her back down. "You're sick."

"I think shopping for an engagement ring would make me feel better." Jazmine batted her eyes. "Nice try." Huey placed his hand on her forehead.

"You know...I haven't felt this nauseous since I was pregnant." Jazmine said nonchalantly. Her eyes widened as soon as she realized what she just said. Huey shared the same expression….
