It only took her a few minutes to find Elsa. She was standing at a gate, bouncing on her feet as she looked over the sea of people – literally. The centre of the park was basically a giant wave pool, and there were easily a hundred people being rocked by the gentle waves.

"The wave pool will activate in two minutes," a voice over a PA system announced. Anna came to stand next to Elsa, who immediately turned to her to share a huge grin.

"Elsa play in the waves!" she said loudly, voiced infected with glee. Anna frowned to herself. Could Elsa swim? Technically dogs could, she thought – why else would they name a swimming stroke after them? – but then again, pomeranians were not known for their aquatic abilities.

"...Fine," she said to her. "But, you gotta stick with me, okay? Let's see if we can find you a floaty..."

It actually wasn't as difficult as Anna thought it would be. Despite the sheer number of people, many seemed to prefer – at least this time – to go without and just use their own buoyancy. Anna managed to snag a donut from a family with young kids who were leaving the pool.

"C'mon Els," she said. "In you get."

She'd intended for Elsa to sit in it, but evidently the platinum blonde had other plans. She moved beneath it, sticking her head and arms up through the hole in the centre. At least she was still smiling. Another announcement came over the loudspeaker, telling them that they only had a minute left.

"Waves! Waves! Waves!" Elsa chanted. Good lord. Still, Anna couldn't wipe the smile from her face as Elsa led her through the crowd to the deeper water. Not the deepest, but deep enough that they'd feel the waves.

It started just as they arrived, and it seemed to be the best five minutes of Elsa's life as she giggled every time the floaty was pushed up and fell back down again. She seemed incredibly disappointed when it was over.

"No more waves?" she asked, eyebrows furrowing and a frown on her face. Anna shook her head.

"No more waves for the moment, but they'll put the waves on again soon. Did you want to wait, or did you want to try something else?"

Elsa's bottom lip pursed in thought. "Something else. Come back later, though?"

"Sure, we can come back later. But lets go on one of the other rides. How about a slide? A big water slide?"

Elsa gasped, eyes lighting up. "Giant water slide?" she asked. It brought a giggle to Anna's lips.

"The giantist."

That would have been all well and good, if Anna had remembered one very important detail.

Elsa was not a fan of heights.

Fortunately, they caught up with Kristoff on the way there, and it wasn't even until they got to the very top that Elsa seemed to even become aware of the height.

And then it was all over anyway because they were sitting in the huge rubber boat, ready to plummet to the bottom.

"Whatever you do, Elsa, hold on tight, okay?"

Usually Anna would make a joke about not falling out, but it probably wouldn't help Elsa at all, so she didn't.

Of course, as soon as they were tipping over the edge, Elsa shrieked.

Anna was positive she would go deaf from the sheer volume and pitch – even Kristoff winced. It took less than ten seconds to hit the bottom, and Elsa screamed for every second of it.

When they came to a stop, so did Elsa. She sat there numbly, and Anna almost laughed because it was a little funny. She didn't, because it was also a lot not funny. Both she and Kristoff had to help her out; she just shook, eyes wide.

"How... how was that, Els?" Anna asked softly once they were out of the way. At least no one was looking at them. "Was that a little too giant?"

Very slowly, Elsa gave a soft nod. "Too giant," she said, bottom lip poking out.

But, she didn't cry, when maybe she would have only a week ago. "Don't- don't want giant slide. Small slide."

Anna nodded. "Small slide. Let's go and find a small slide, okay?"

Elsa nodded. Kristoff spoke up afterwards.

"Well, you girls have fun. I'm going to go and try the Kamikaze Slide instead."

"Do you wanna meet here for lunch? Say in about an hour?"

"Sure. See ya!"

And he was off, leaving Elsa and Anna alone. Anna couldn't even be annoyed with him because as soon as he was gone, Elsa's hand slid into hers.

"Anna want to go on the giant slide?" she asked quietly. Anna looked at her for a moment.

"Nah. Let's go and have fun on the less scary ones."

And they did. This time when Elsa screamed on the rides, it was because she'd heard the other kids doing it and Anna had told her that it was for fun. It was very easy not to take it seriously when she would interrupt herself with giggles – she was literally shrieking with laughter.

Anna actually almost forgot about meeting Kristoff for lunch, and afterwards they all went on the current pool, which drifted around the rides in a fast-moving but gentle current. Nothing scary, especially when they could just sit on their donuts and let it take them wherever it went.

Elsa was beet red at the end of the day, and Anna knew she probably had about fifty new freckles. It was worth it though.

They both fell asleep in the car on the way home. Thank god Kristoff was driving.
