A/N: A small update from your sporadic writer uwu. Enjoy reading!
Cisco was casually reading the brand-new chapters of his favorite comic book when an alarm broke through the serene surroundings of STAR Labs.
Sitting up straight in surprise accompanied by a "manly" shriek, he grabbed his phone, "Barry! What's wrong, man?"
His best friend on the other line was breathing heavily, "Cisco… I"
The curly haired man was terrified, thinking that his best friend was attacked or has been kidnapped by a crazy metahuman, "I…"
Cisco stood up from his chair, opened a portal and was in front of Barry after a short jump.
The brunet with emerald green eyes was sitting on the couch, unscathed and clearly in no danger that requires activating the metahuman alert Cisco installed on his phone.
"Barry?" He asks once more, noticing that the usually bright man was sporting a gloomy frown and looked like he was tricked by the whole multiverse.
The speedster looks at his best friend, sighing heavily and dramatically, "I miss Caitlin." Barry mutters melancholically then falling back on the couch, closing his eyes and imagining his personal doctor's warm touch and smile all for him to cherish.
The mechanical engineer stood there with a poker face, rolling his eyes and raising his hand; waving it with such disdain at the speedster.
"Dude, this is the 5th time this month. For the last time, you missing Caitlin is not an emergency that needs the metahuman alert buzzing at the lab."
Barry sniffles a bit then sends a semi-glare at the man, "It is, in fact, an emergency. You don't know how painful, sorrowful, heart-wrenching it is not to see her just a few centimeters away from me."
The curly haired man wanted to open a portal, jump right back to STAR Labs and continue reading his comic rather than listening to his romantically sappy best friend whining about how their resident doctor, best friend, and Barry's girlfriend was nowhere to be found.
"Besides, we don't where she went Cisco! Dude, she might've been kidnapped by some crazy metahuman or got lost to wherever she went or ran away from me or—"
"Or maybe your overthinking it. One, she has Frost with her. Hell, even without powers she's scary. Two, a doctor with several doctorates and a PhD wouldn't simply get lost in Central City where she lived almost half of her live. Lastly, I highly doubt Caitlin would run away from you. I mean you can get a bit dramatic and needy—"
Barry furrowed his brows, "Excuse me?"
Cisco shrugs, "Dude, just calm down, will you? I'm sure Caitlin's doing fine."
"She won't leave me, right?"
Barry, she won't. You're both equally crazy for each other for years and it was physically painful to watch how both of you can be so dense and oblivious puppies back then. I almost wanted just to crash your faces together back then and say, "There. YOU'RE WELCOME."
"Nope. Just calm down, alright? Sheesh. Why don't you just watch a movie or musical, it relaxes you right?" Cisco suggested, already fishing for the TV's remote.
Barry shook his head, lying back on the couch while sighing heavily.
"It's not fun, without her." The curly haired man looks back at his best friend, frowning at the gloomy sight of the ever-bright man who always wore the best smile in the whole multiverse.
Where the heck could Caitlin be? He thought with furrowed eyebrows, "Hey, Barry?"
"…" The speedster grumbled in response, "Did Caitlin told you were she was going to?"
Barry perks up, emerald eyes glued at Cisco, "As far as I can remember, she didn't, man." He tries to remember the events that have transpired an hour or two ago.
"All I remember was that she was frantic and hurriedly went out, minutes after I came to pay her a visit. Oh holy— Maybe she was running away from me, man! The way Cait didn't even bother to properly say good bye to me, I mean she did give me a quick peck on the cheek but…"
He rambled on, oversharing his thoughts about his runaway girlfriend to Cisco, who was disinterested with how wild and crazy these scenarios his best friend was spouting out in fear of being left alone by the brightest doctor in Central City.
Well, there confession wasn't really the best of the best of confessions. Cisco thought to himself quietly with a grin, still remembering the exact moment and words that he "mistakenly" spied on.
"Cait, I like you." Barry blurts out of nowhere, biting his lip as the female doctor took a sample of his DNA to examine after the latest fight with a DNA manipulating metahuman.
The auburn-haired woman looks up from her microscope, face rivalling a burning building, "W-W-W-What?!"
The man got a little disheartened by her reaction and shook his head, "N-N-N-Nothing! It's nothing, Cait! I just like you!" He tells once more, emerald orbs wide in surprise and mouth clasped by his own hands.
She stares at the man, sure that her face was much brighter than his, "Mr. Allen, a statement like that is not supposed to be considered as nothing. Especially if the one you're talking to likes you back!"
Caitlin retorts, gulping nervously and turning redder while a distorted voice belonging to her cold roommate reverberates inside her head.
"Way to go, Caity." Her mind whispers, not helping the embarrassment coating her like a snake constricting its victim. She looked away from the man, fanning herself and have forgotten her work and almost knocking off her microscope from the table.
Is he really just going to stand there? Gawking at me like it's his first time to see a woman? She mumbled to herself, getting unhelpful answers from Frost through her head.
"You're right, he should kiss you! That's like the cliché rule when it comes to randomly blurting out you like someone. Let him ravish you, Caity. Go on, push off that stupid test tubes and beakers off the table. You should be busy 'studying' his anatomy on that table, preferably with no clothes on for more accurate observations, doc." Frost whispers seductively, snickering lightly.
"You know it's rude to make a girl waiting, Bartholomew Henry Allen." Caitlin pointed out, crossing her arms above her lab coat and turning her head away from the man, who seemed to finally snap out from his trance.
She sighs and was about to grab ahold her things when a whoosh of wind blew past her and grabbed her arms, turning her head to Barry's face.
He was one kiss away from her, who felt her heart wanting burst out from her ribcage not that it was anatomically possible but here she was almost brushing her lips against a man who could run faster than almost anything; impossible my ass.
"You're right, it's rude to keep you waiting." Barry tells her, finally breaking his silence as he cups her face, "I waited for this for so long, Dr. Snow." She smiles to his touch, playing with the little hair on his nape.
"Well, I wish I'm worth the wait, Barry." Caitlin mutters, eyes meeting with his own mesmerizing pair.
He grins at her widely, "I know you are always worth the wait, Cait." Leaning in closer, a voice erupted inside the laboratory.
"Snow! Allen! Wha—" Harry just thought of a way to finally track down their metahuman target, bursting inside the lab and was about to tell the two scientists only to be greeted by a compromising "scene" between his teammates.
The pair were flushed, staring at the man who nonchalantly fixed his glasses, "Ramon! Where are you?!" He shouts and walks out, dashing off to were the mechanical engineer was residing.
Barry sighs, "Maybe we shouldn't do it." Caitlin suggests with a smile directed at the man.
He nods and smiles back sheepishly, "Yeah, I'm not going to push you or anything."
She giggles at his words, "I meant we should do it somewhere else. You're not pushing me or anything, Barry Allen."
His mouth hang opens at her suggestion, "Caitlin Snow, you are such an amazing woman. God, you're perfect." Barry finishes, grinning at her.
"I know. Now, take me home, Flash." Caitlin said, arms wrapping around his neck securely.
The pair were gone in a speed of light, ending the show witnessed by a certain mechanical engineer eating a bucket of popcorn. He rolled his eyes, turning off the camera and muttered…
"About time, you oblivious puppies with extreme chemistry." Cisco stood up, sighing at the loud echoes of his name being called by Harry.
Cisco chuckles to himself, "You're both lucky I ship both of you so hard." He says proudly while effectively shutting up the man who was still frantic and nervous.
"What?" Barry asked with perplexed eyes at his best friend, "You what?" The curly haired man laughs and waves his hand, dismissing the other man's curiosity.
The mechanical engineer stood up and opened a portal, "Dude, I'll head back to STAR Labs. Don't sound the alarm if it isn't a metahuman incident or emergency. I'm sure Caitlin will be back in a while." Barry rolled his eyes, nodding lightly.
As Cisco made his exit, the speedster lies down again on the couch and sighed heavily.
In a while? How can you even measure that? It sucks to wait, especially if you're the fastest man alive. He thought sourly, remembering a similar banter.
"Bartholomew Henry Allen, have some patience, please." Caitlin Snow said in exasperation.
The aforementioned man rolls his eyes, "You've been working all day, Cait. Come on, ditch the work and come with me."
She shakes her head, "I'll be done in a while. You just have to wait."
"But I can't. Can't I just superspeed your work?" He retorts.
"No, you can't. Not everyone has superspeed. Well can you at least try to wait? For me?" The auburn-haired woman pleads, pouting her lips.
The man sighs in defeat, falling on the seat beside the doctor, "Fine. You win. Just because you're cute and pretty and amazing."
Caitlin laughs and plants a sweet kiss on the CSI's cheek, "Thank you, Mr. Allen."
"My pleasure, Dr. Snow." Barry replies while resting his head on her shoulder and watching her finish her work.
He chuckles to himself, "A speedster choosing to wait? Fine, just for you, Dr. Snow. You better come running back in a while." Barry closed his eyes, slowly dozing off to Dreamland and smiling softly because of his dream.

Caitlin Snow gently placed her paper bags filled with grocery at her doormat and fished out for her keys to open her front door.
As she steps inside, her doe brown eyes quickly settled on the figure lying on her couch. She furrowed her brows and quietly gasps once seeing the figure's face.
She slowly approached the man, a smile appearing on her face as she gazes at him.
He looks so peaceful and angelic when he's asleep. Caitlin thought, biting her lip in hesitation of trying to wake him up.
"Barry…" She softly calls out, no response from the man. She tries once more a bit louder, resulting to the man groaning a bit and scrunching his nose.
Soft giggles escaped her mouth at how he resembled a child not wanting to wake up, "Barry." She tries once more, poking the man's cheek.
"Hmmm." Barry lets out while lightly shaking his head and waving her hand off with his. Caitlin laughs and plants a soft kiss on the man's lips, "Wakey wakey, Flash."
She pulls away grinning at the soft gaze she was receiving from her boyfriend, "Cait?"
"Yup, it's me." Caitlin nods with a warm smile. Barry sits up straight from the couch, looking like he just woke up from a nightmare.
He pulls her to a tight and warm hug, "You're back. You're here." Burying his head deeper into the hug, "I missed you, Cait. I didn't know where you went to. But I'm glad you're back, Cisco was right."
The auburn-haired woman pulls away, sitting beside him, "What are you talking about?" Barry sighs and started telling her what happened hours ago.
"And I fell asleep here." He finishes, watching her laugh quite a bit at his story. She manages to control herself after a while, giggling at the weird look Barry was giving to her.
"Barry, I'm sorry if I hurriedly went out earlier. But I told you I was going to buy groceries. I even texted you once I got at the supermarket." She explains to him.
Barry fishes out for his phone from his jeans, surprised to see two messages from Caitlin.
"Guess I overreacted, huh?" He sheepishly explains, grinning at her. She rolls her eyes then smiles sweetly, "You did but that was so sweet of you, Mr. Allen."
She grabs hold of his hand, "Always remember I won't runaway or disappear from you for no reason, Bar." He squeezes her hand, "And I won't do that too, Cait. Can I come with you next time, when you're out grocery shopping? To be honest, I just want to be with you every step in my life."
Caitlin smiles, "Are you sure about that? You might get sick of my face and cold demeanor."
###
"Never. Besides, everything sucks when you're not around." Barry retorts, pulling her for a sweet kiss.
"Cait, where were you yesterday? Barry was so worried, thinking that you left him." Cisco asks the resident doctor sitting beside him.
She glances at him and smiles, "I was grocery shopping. I texted Barry but he didn't read it."
Cisco blinked his eyes and sighs, "Unbelievable."
