« Yuck ! » Cried Master Xandred, startling Mya, who was looking at the horizon. « More medecine ! I don't think Dayu will ever return ! » Mya rolled her eyes and watched the sea stirring in the rage of her master.
« You did break her harmonium ! » Octoroo retorted, turning to the Nighlocks master
« Huh ?! She deserved it ! » Xandred shouted, throwing his plate at Octoroo, who was complaigning
« Ooooh but this was the only thing she cared about ! »
« Sileeeeence ! Get me some more medecine ! » Xandred was furious !
« Master, calm down ! » Mya interfered for the first time, putting her hand on his forehead. She also began to have a migraine because of the shouts of the Nighlock.
« Master Xandred » Serrator began, arriving in the boat. « It seems you still not feeling well ! »
« Serrator, what do you want ? » Barked Master Xandred
« I want you to meet my new protégé : Duplicator ! »
« Never heard of him ! » The Lord of the Nighlocks growled
« No one, I think ... I'm sure Serrator found him in one of his unknown places ... » Mya sighed and paced the boat.
« That's all about to change ! » Serrator laughed « This Nighlock will make history ! »
« Like all the others you have presented us ! » crabbed the witch
« He'll raise the Sanzu River higher than any before him ! » Serrator continued, ignoring Mya
« Right ! Every one promises ! » Xandred snickered. « But no one delivers ! »
« I will deliver ! » Duplicator intervened for the first time. « They've never seen a likes of me ! I'm so cool ! Humans won't know what hit them ! » And he began to laugh loudly. However, it was cut by Mya who laughed at him
« You're sure of you Duplicator ! That will be your loss ! »
« Shut up ! » Serrator had shouted, sending her waltzing farther. She struck the wall of the boat while Octoroo got angry in turn
« Don't touch her ! » Then he went to help the witch, who was suddenly very angry. She walked over to Serrator and turned into a black ranger. She was going to attack him when Master Xandred uttered a long howl
« That's enough for you both ! Rise the Sanzu River before I destroy you ! »
Mya sneered and apparated into the human world.
Meanwhile, at Shiba house
« Your tea is served, Kevin ! » Ji said quietly after pouring some tea into the cup of the blue ranger
« Thank you » He smiled softly as he continued to read his book
« Good morning every one ! » Cried the yellow ranger in a joyful voice
« Hello ! » Kevin was not in a good mood
« Hey Em' » Jayden either. He kept thinking of Mya, who was still under the control of Master Xandred
« Whoa ! Can early first jog' huh ! » The little blonde laughed as she saw Mia in the kitchen
« You're a credit to the samurai life ! » Kevin said softly as he smiled back. Mia smiled, blushing slightly after drinking her orange juice that she had just served. She was still in love with the blue ranger
« Hey guys ! » Cried Antonio, in a slightly dark voice. Mya's betrayal affected him much more than he showed. « Guess what ? I brought your breakfast, lunch and dinner ! » He finished, placing three buckets of fish on the table.
« Great catch, Antonio ! » Congratulated the Mentor
« The fishes are really biting ! There are more than I can catch ! »
« What's going on ? » Mike asked, yawning. He came in turn to enter the kitchen. « Isn't too earlier for breakfast ? » Then he made a grimace, smelling the odor of the fish under his nose.
« Oh ! » Cried the pink ranger suddenly, raising the head of her book « How about I make breakfast for everyone ? »
Everyone turned to her and then one by one they disappeared from the kitchen, finding an excuse to avoid eating Mia's kitchen.
« I'm late for training ! » Jayden said as he put his glass on the table and went out quickly
« Me too ! » Kevin said as he followed his team leader
« I forgot ! I'm on a diet ! » Said Emily, smiling and running out of the kitchen
« I just have to go ! » Mike stammered without excuse
« Uh ... no time ! Go fish the catch ! » Finished Antonio with a sorry air
« Hum ... Mentor ? » Mia asked softly, turning to him
« Uh ... I already ate ... »
Mia shrugged and continued to read her book.
From the side of Mya and Duplicator
Mya watched the Nighlock terrify humans while flying through the air with a spell. She gritted her teeth, thinking back to her humiliation that morning and thought of a plan for revenge. She landed on the stairs next to her and smiled. Her plan of revenge against Serrator was about to begin. She would go down to join Duplicator when she heard a familiar voice.
« Nighlock ! »
It was the Power Rangers who just arrived.
« Leave them alone ! » Kevin ordered in a sharp voice
« Go on ! Get out of here ! » Emily said helping a man to get up
« Get up ! Go on ! Get the safety ! That way ! » Mia said in turn, « Hey ! You there ! » She shouted to a boy sitting with a lowered head, « Did you hear me ? » The boy did not move a bit. She sighed and went back with the others
« Your fun and games are over Nighlock ! » Jayden snarled in a cold voice
« Oh really ?! » laughed Duplicator « So you're the big bad Samurai Rangers ? »
« And you're another Nighlock looking for trouble ! » Kevin lost patience
« I'm not just another Nighlock, » replied the monster. « I'm a Duplicator, I work for Serrator and I'm the coolest and the best in the biz ! » Duplicator kissed an imaginary crowd as Mya sighed, raising her eyes to heaven.
« Serrator ? » Repeated Antonio
« What is he up to this time?" Kevin asked, tightening his grip on his weapon
« Let me handle "Mister Cool" here ! » Mike ran to Duplicator and engaged in a fight. « Time for me to cool your jets ! »
« You're just jealous, » the Nighlock began, blocking all attacks from the green ranger « because I'm cooler than you ! I mean... you're just Ranger ! » The Nighlock was openly laughing at Mike, who didn't like it at all.
« Define cool ! » Mike managed to reach him but Duplicator got up.
« Okay, this is cool ! » Then he disappeared.
« Huh ? Where did he go ? » Mike looked around
« I'm here ! » Duplicator taunted revealing full of reflections « You see us ? » And then making them disappear one by one « Now you don't ! »
« What's going on ? » Mike asked the others who were coming to him. « This guy's all aver the place ! »
« But not for long, I might just split ! »
« Long enough for this ! » Exclaimed Kevin, making a roll and then landing squatting, « HYDRO BOW ! » The attack reached the Nighlock, which fell one knee to the ground
« Got you ! Too cool for school ! » And he disappeared. « You think you catch me, but you can't ! » He had reappeared behind them. « You see, I've got some news for you. There's more to me that meet the eye ! A lot more ! » He finished, making his doubles appear.
« He cloned hmself ? »Asked Mia
« There're mirror images ! » Explained Kevin
« Stay sharp ! » Jayden told them when they saw the reflections and the Nighlock attacked them.
For a few minutes they wiped out the reflections but none was true. They gathered and looked around.
« Just stop playing, Duplicator ! » Mya's voice shouted. They all raised their heads and saw her transformed alongside the Nighlock « Take care of them ! »
« Ready or not ! » Duplicator asked, who without waiting for an answer, attacked them with purple spheres that exploded in contact with the rangers. The rangers were put down under the laughter. « Rangers Rangers on the ground ! » Duplicator continued laughing as Mya watched the show with delight. They both jumped before the rangers and the Nighlock pulled out his gun and stroked it. « You look pretty lost ! But guess what I found ! I know who is the cooler guy around ! » And he began to run towards them
« Not you ! » Shouted Antonio
« Oh yeah ? » The Nighlock growled. « You're finished ! » Then he collapsed to the floor holding his chest. « Not cool ! I'm dried out ! You got lucky this time Rangers » And he crossed a crack for the Netherworld.
« No way ! » Mike complained
« It's not over, stay concentrated ! » Jayden warned, pointing at Mya, who was looking at them.
« I don't want to fight you, rangers, » Mya said, demorphing, « I just want to leave quietly »
« Do you really think we're going to let you do it ? » Mike said in a hard voice
« Yes I think so, I don't want you to be the victim of my anger » replied the witch in a colder voice
« Mya ... What happened to you ? » Asked Antonio, demorphing and advancing towards the witch. « You were kind and incapable of hurting us ... I'd like to find the real Mya. » And he took her in his arms. The witch froze and responded to the boy's embrace.
Everyone smiles and thinks they have found their friend. But a few seconds later, Antonio was ejected further by magic. He had managed to remove the necklace. The rangers looked at Mya, who had fallen to the ground. They approached her to help her but she grunted when Kevin grabbed her arm. The dark magic of Octoroo was anchored too deeply in her. She disengaged herself and jumped into a crack.
« I thought it was thanks to the necklace that Master Xandred controlled her ! » Yelled Mike angrily
« I thought so too Mike »Jayden replied gloomily
« Let's go » Kevin said quietly
« Guys, you can head back without me. I wanna check on that guy over there. » Mia explained to them, pointing to the boy who hadn't moved since the beginning of the battle
« Okay » Emily agreed, « We'll see you back at the house ! »
On the boat of Master Xandred
« But where is your necklace ? » Cried Octoroo
« The rangers took it from me ! » Mya answered violently, letting out her magic
« What ? But you... »
« I will make them pay the affront they have done to me ! » Mya concentrated all her magic and destroyed the moogers on the bank of the river
House Shiba
« Whoa ! We took a beating ! » Kevin said, leaning on the inner dojo's striking bag
« His mirror mojo is too much ! » Mike continued on the floor while Antonio cracked his shoulders to relax
« Hey ! » Said Emily on seeing Mia arrive. « How was that guy ? »
« He said he wanted to be a samurai, » the Japanese began. « I know, I was surprised too » she continued before Kevin's inquisitive air. « I just told him that a true samurai never gives up » Then she went to her room
« You know after a battle like that, it's a good thing to remember ! » Mike intervened, sitting down
« There's gonna be a way to beat this guy and bring Mya back ! » Cried Antonio suddenly, as he rose
Later in the night
Mya was perched on a tree and spied on the rangers. Faraway memories came to her mind. What was happening to her ? Why did she feel attracted to the house of her enemies ? Why did she want to go inside and get warm? She clenched her fists not understanding. Then the tears ran down. She felt that her life no longer belonged to her, that she no longer had control over it. She no longer knew who the enemy was. She had to go quickly. The more she looked at this house, the more her incomprehension increased. She looked at the house one last time and apparated.
The rangers had no idea what was going on outside. They were trying to find a plan to defeat Duplicator and get back Mya.
Mia lit the living room lamp and sat down next to Mike.
« Okay ! » Kevin said « There must be a way to pick this Nighlock from his face. »
« Yeah ! » Mike intervened, sitting on a pouf « Something about the real that we wouldn't notice ! »
« Hey ! » Exclaimed Emily, rising from her seat. « They're mirror images, right ? »
« Yeah ! » Mike and Kevin replied
« Maybe the fakes don't cast reflections ! » Continued the blonde. « You know ... Like vampires ! »
« Guys ! » Jayden called as he came into the living room with the LightZord in his hand. « I think I have the answer ! The LightZord ! It's almost dark outside now. Its high power beam could shine through the Nighlock tricks ! »
« Cool ! » smiled Kevin « I can't wait to for him to show his face kick ! »
« And when he does, he's going down ! » The leader continued, nodding his head.
« What about Mya ? » Asked the Japanese
« What are we doing for her ? » Emily asked in turn
« I think we can't do anything anymore » Jayden replied somberly
« Jayden's right » Mike continued
« We all tried ! There's no point in continuing to hope ... » Kevin finished by sitting down heavily
« No ! » Cried Antonio, his voice hoarse and tears in his eyes. « I refuse to believe it ! Mya will come back on our side ! I know it ! I feel it ! »
« I hope you're right, Tonio » the leader said, taking a cup of tea
Mike went to lean against the window waiting for the next appearance of the Nighlock while Kevin and Antonio trained under the gaze of Jayden who was thinking of Mya. Emily approached Mike with a tray and asked if he wanted tea. He refused politely. Then, a few minutes later, the Sensor Gap rang, indicating that Duplicator and Mya had just reappeared in the human world. They took the Zord Flash and ran to the place of the attack.
« Yes ! I'm recharged ! » Duplicator exclaimed after destroying three buildings. « Now I'll freeze those rangers out with my coolness ! »
« Power up, L.Z ! » Antonio shouted by activating the LightZord and dazzling Duplicator
« Look at that ! The Samurai Rangers are back ! » Mya snickered as she climbed into the sky
« Red Ranger, ready ! » Jayden shouted, making Mya smile
« Keep charging up L.Z ! » Antonio shouted again
« Blue Ranger, ready ! »
« Pink Ranger, ready ! »
« Green Ranger, ready ! »
« Yellow Ranger, ready ! »
« Gold Ranger, ready ! Come on, L.Z ! »
« Rangers together, samurai forever ! »
« Lousy Rangers, I'm getting bored fooling you ! It's just too easy ! » Duplicator sneered
« You're the one being fooled, Nighlock ! » Mike retorted
« Never underestimate a samurai » continued Mia
« We never give up ! » Jayden finished « Let's show him ! »
« Show ? » Laufhed the Nighlock « If you want a show, I'll give you a show ! »
« Guys ! Change the plan ! » Exclaimed Antonio, panicked. « L.Z isn't charged ! »
« Are you like that ? » Laughed Duplicator
« Guess, our plan wasn't so bright ! » Said Mike
« We have to hang on until the LightZord is ready ! » Jayden ordered
The rangers began to fight against the reflections of the Nighlock while Mya flew into the air. A headache had just assaulted her and a desire to vomit had also appeared. She needed water. But when she set feet on the floor, a memory flashed in her head.
It was a day off given by Mentor and Jayden and Mya stayed at Shiba's house while the others went to the beach. They were both in the room of the red ranger, in the bed fighting in a childish manner. Mya let out a great laugh as Jayden grabbed her by the waist and began to tickle her.
Mya put a knee on the floor holding her head. The pain was such that she had tears running down her face. She felt bad. It was as if she and her subconscious were constantly fighting. Then the memories began to assail her. With Mike, with Kevin, with Mia and Emily, with Antonio and Jayden, then with Harry and Ron.
At the end of the memories concerning her two brothers, something broke in her. She got up slowly and headed for the fighting that was taking place. She positioned herself behind all the reflections and no longer had strength, she fell on her knees. A bright light emanated from her, causing the rangers to be ejected further. They quickly got up and went to attack the witch when she got up and murmured Jayden's name. A long cry of agony came out of her mouth and the light dispersed and allowed the LightZord to charge. Nevertheless, she collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
« Okay ! » Antonio said, standing up. Mya's powers had once again put them to the ground. « I think we're ready ! We're a great team but it's time to you to shine, L.Z ! Let there be light ! » The LightZord, in turn, emitted a lively light which made it possible to differentiate between true and false Nighlocks.
« Oh no, no ! What's happening ? » Cried Duplicator, seeing all his reflections disappear. « Not cool ! »
« That was excellent ! » Chuckled Kevin
« Yes ! » Emily laughed in his turn
« Nice ! » Continued the fisher. « Now that you're alone, Let's see what you've got ! »
« But I'm not alone, the little witch of Master Xandred is here too ! » The Nighlock turned to see Mya lying on the floor surrounded by the pink and green rangers. Antonio took the opportunity to attack him but he quickly regained his spirits and blocked all the attacks of the golden ranger until at last the latter manages to break the blade of his sword. The Nighlock found himself disarmed in front of him.
« Oh ! That's totally uncool ! Huh ! What now ? »
« FLASHING STRIKE ! » Antonio had once again profited by his inattention to attack him. « Not so cool now, huh ? » He said to him when he was on the ground.
« Way to go, Antonio ! » Said Mia
« Mia » Jayden said, throwing the black box « You do the honor ! »
« The Black Box ! Leave it to me ! » She put a power disk in and activated it. « SUPER SAMURAI MODE ! » The famous white jacket came to dress him. « Pink is the new black ! » She continued after placing the black box on her sword « super spin sword, SUPER AIR WAVE ! »
The Nighlock was destroyed but quickly returned to his second form.
« Not so fast, Rangers ! » Duplicator exclaimed. « Now I'm just giga cool ! »
« Pick pink ! SUPER SAMURAI COMBINATION ! » Mia had just assembled the Zords
« Claw Armor MegaZord, we are united ! » They all shouted at the same time
« Let's get LightZord in on this ! » Antonio intervened by activating the LightZord « LIGHTZORD, MEGAMODE POWER ! » The LightZord turned and became a giant little guy.
« Just what I wanted ! » Duplicator said, « Time for me to turn up the light on all of you ! » And he ran to attack the two Mega-Zord.
« Go on L.Z ! You're first ! » Antonio ordered, « Get in there and light this guy up ! » The LightZord advanced to the Nighlock and attacked him, sparking the Nighlock's armor
« That was below the belt ! » Duplicator grumbled. « not cool ! »
« DOUBLE KATANA STRIKE ! » The rangers shouted as the eyes of the Samurai Mega-Zord lit up. They gave a first shot, then a second and a third and the Nighlock was ejected far behind him. The LightZord took the opportunity to give him another shot.
« Yeah ! A double hitter ! » Laughed Antonio
« You know » The Nighlock began after getting up « Two against one, it isn't fair ! » And he made his reflections appear.
« What ? » Cried Mike. « We hit him and we're seeing double ? No way ! »
« Antonio, Shine the beam from the Light MegaZord » quickly ordered Jayden
« Don't worry ! I've got a move that will take these clones out for good ! » The Spanish cut him off. « Watch this ! BATTLE DISK SCATTERSHOT ! » All the reflections were destroyed by the disks sent by the Zord. One of the disks even manages to touch the real Nighlock.
« Finish him off Mia ! » Jayden said over the cries of exaltation of the boys
« With pleasure ! » She replied cheerfully, « SUPER SAMURAI ARTILLERY ! SAMURAI BATTLE CANNON ! » All the Zords assembled to form the cannon. « Let's give him a proper send off ! SHOGUN MODE ! » Mia activated the Shogun disk and her armor grew bigger and stronger. « Power of the ancestors ! SHOGUN RANGER FIRE ! »
« BATTLE CANNON BLAST ! »
The Nighlock received the attack full force but to the surprise of all, he didn't die.
« What ? » Mia said surprised
« No way ! » Shouted Mike
« What are we going to do now ? » Emily asked
« We're not going to turn into GigaZord anyway ? » Said Kevin
« No » replied Emily.
« Emily's right » said Jayden. « We're going to attack him now... »
Another Zord jumped into the sky. It was a black panther.
« But what ... » Kevin began but was cut off by a female voice
« Panther FoldingZord, MEGAMODE POWER ! » It was Mya who was in the cockpit of the Zord. She was struggling to stand up but she held on.
« What are you doing, witch ? » Duplicator asked, seeing her
« I'll destroy you ! » Replied the English woman, in a somber voice, and filled with venom. « CLAWS DARKNESS ATTACK ! » The Zord stood up on his hind legs and gave a claw blow that caused the Nighlock to explode with cries of suffering.
The rangers demorphed, as did Mya, who advanced towards them. At their height, she lowered her head and opened her mouth to speak but a big chest pain prevented her from making a sound. She collapsed to the floor in front of the rangers who hurried to bring her back to the Shiba house. They laid her on a bed in the infirmary and let the Mentor take care of her.
A few hours later, Mentor came out of the room, his face dark. They all believed that bad news was coming, but Mentor smiled.
« She's awake » he said softly
« Can we go see her ? » Mike asked sadly
« I strongly fear not, Mike » Ji answered, shaking his head.
« But why ? » Emily asked as she settled into Mike's arms
« She is ashamed ! » Jayden explained as he got up from his ottoman
« She prefers not to see anyone because she expects that we won't talk to her anymore ! » Antonio went on leaving the kitchen with a fish dish in his hand, which he put on the tray for his little sister
« But it's... stupid ! » Cried Kevin, crossing his arms
« She wasn't herself ! » Continued Mia
« We don't blame her ! » Mike finished
« The fact is, I betrayed you and I can't forgive myself ! » Mya interfered with a sport bag in her hand
« Mya ! » Cried the girls, advancing towards her
« But ... Where are you going ? » Emily said as she froze on the spot
« Ji hasn't told you yet ? » She said in a fragile voice
« The bad news is that Mya is going away for a while » Ji finished as he sat down
« I'm going back to London to celebrate Christmas. I don't know if I will come back afterwards so I already packed my suitcase. »
« Mya, you ... »
« You can't do that ! » Exclaimed the boys, except Jayden
« Yeah.. I can and I do it. » Said Ma in a suddenly cold voice
« We'll give you the time it takes » Jayden intervened, approaching her and taking her in his arms. She didn't answer the embrace, but it seemed to him that the tension in her shoulders decreased. « What I said the other time, I really thought so. Come back when you're ready. I love you » he said softly in his ear so that no one could hear his words.
She pulled away and looked at the rangers one by one. She smiled sadly and allowed herself to drop a single tear. She nodded to the Mentor and apparated.
She landed in a small lane close to her small apartment in London. She walked for about ten minutes and then pushed open the doors of her building. She climbed the three floors quickly and pulled out her keys once outside her door. A luxury apartment appeared. The walls were beige and white in color, and the floor was covered with parks. She stepped into the corridor, closing the door with her foot and stepped into the living room. She had a black sofa matched perfectly with her table and furniture as well as her large flat screen. The windows were spread over a whole wall and so it had an excellent view on the roads of London. She put her bag on her coffee table and walked over to her latest kitchen to prepare to eat. However, there was nothing either in the fridge or in the closets. She sighed and went to bed in her room. A King Size canopy bed sat in the middle of the room and a door to her left led to his dressing room. Another on her right led to the bathroom.
She lay down on her bed and fell asleep only a few seconds later. The next day she woke up around noon. She quickly went into the bathroom which, compared to the rest of the apartment, was relatively simple. A shower on one side, the toilet and the sink on the other. She washed herself and after finishing, she went to her living room to set up the Christmas decorations. She put a pine tree beside one of the windows and, thanks to the magic, she decorated it. An hour later, she attacked the decorations of the rest of the house. Garlands clung to the walls, little angels flew into the sky as well as small fairies. She burst out laughing when a dispute broke out between a fairy and an angel. She quickly reconciled them and went out shopping to fill her empty cabinets and buy her gifts.
She spent more than three hours in the supermarket, then she returned to her apartment to put everything away. What she did with a wand before Apparate to the Weasleys to give them a little cuckoo and invite them on Christmas Eve home. She spent the rest of her afternoon talking to the Weasleys about life in Panorama City and rangers. She also spoke with Ginny of Hogwarts because the younger Weasley was doing her last year. Then she came to her invitation that the Weasley accepted with joy even if Molly wanted to do it at home. She had finally accepted when Mya had begged her...
