"On the way to Satomi's house I didn't say a word to Derek. When we arrived at the house the front door opened and a slender regal looking woman leaned against the doorframe.

She looked like she could be in her late fifties, though I knew she was only some decades younger than my grandmother which still meant over a hundred years old.

""You've brought her then," she said smiling to Derek

"nice to finally meet you Mrs. Ito" I began as we approached the porch.

She made a dismissive gesture with her hand "you can call me Satomi" she smiled a kind smile.

Frida my grandmother spoke highly of her although not of her dedication to learning control so that she would never take an innocent life, Frida wasn't like that, Frida was an werewolf from a different era with no respect for weakness and innocence, however she respected Satomi she told me once that werewolves are prone to the violence, and Satomi was the most violent werewolf she had ever met, being able to control your own nature the way Satomi had required much more strength and power her exact words had been "the most dangerous thing people can do is to mistaken Satomi as weak" and now I could see this with my own eyes Satomi radiated with power and authority she also had a serenity about her, Satomi was many things but weak wasn't one of them.

""are you ready?" Derek asked, I snorted "come one" he placed his hand on my back and guided to the door

"you are already starting to regret this" he said

"I am" I admitted

Derek held open the door "you don't have…"

"yes, I do"

We followed Satomi inside, the room was filled with people, I was expecting to see some alphas but that was crazy there were over twenty people waiting on Satomi's living room

"So you are the latent?" a strong voice ringed through the room I searched the room to find its owner, it came from a man in the back he looked in his mid-thirties but with werewolves you could never know.

"Yes that's me" I said. They pick up on your nervousness, my father's advises came back to me. They know when you're scared, and they use your fear. The way he pinned me with his eyes, never blinking, made me want to run. But I knew this was an old Alpha trick and I had a trick of my own for situations like that. I just lowered my eyes an inch careful not to lower my head at all, he was an Alpha he had to win his staring contest but I shouldn't show weakness by bowing my head.

I looked around the room "thank you for coming" I said "I believe Satomi had told you what this is about" I said in my most diplomatic voice

"I knew how to do this I was trained and tutored my whole life, I knew what to say and how to say it and the fact most if not all of those people viewed me as weak wasn't going to intimidate "the fact that you are all here today tells me that you too believe that we have allowed the Brotherhood to exist for far longer than we should"

Relying on their Alpha pride I let them believe it was their views on the matter that made them come, those people don't follow orders I wasn't there to tell them what to do, at least not directly "the Brotherhood had come after my pack I was the last one standing and I was a Latent so they didn't really care. They let the world believe the had destroyed the Morgan pack but they lied. My brother is alive as well" I said "the Brotherhood have him caged they kept him all those years like an animal"

"I saw looks of concern and confused faces even some red eyes flashing that was a good sign "now if I am not mistaken when an Alpha dies, the next in line inherits their alpha status, unless he was killed by another werewolf, but my father was killed by human" some of them knew my father some of them were even friends. I was relying on their sympathy for my family as for the other Alphas those who were new and like Scott didn't know me or my family I was relying on their pride they wouldn't stand they idea of an Alpha werewolf being humiliated like

"is your brother an Alpha?" a werewolf

"he must be, technically I am the next in line but I am latent" I said

"pack magic works in mysterious ways" a female Alpha said

she was right, Philip probably wasn't an Alpha, dad was already dead the last time I saw Philip and I remembered very well his eyes glowing yellow but I had already planned the idea I didn't have to back it up

"The important thing is that he comes from a powerful pack. Alpha or not he is caged, humiliated treated like an animal" I looked at the room "and he did that to him he won't be afraid to do it to another werewolf"

"the Brotherhood was always after the Morgan pack they didn't care about the other werewolves" an Alpha said, he was leaning gracefully on a door and he was looking bored

"yesterday they kidnapped one of my Betta" Scot said

"you should take care of your own pack" the bored Alpha said and I felt the need to slap him but I somehow managed to keep my face neutral or so I thought

"the days the packs fought for dominance are over, Vaughn" Derek said "we should have each other backs"

"I understand that but why should I put the lives of my pack members in danger to save her brother and his Betta" he looked at Scot "you are an Alpha you should fend for you pack" he said apathetically the red spots in front of my eyes were dancing frantically and oh how I needed to strangle that Vaughn.

"Yesterday was his pack" I came forward "tomorrow could be yours"

"I can protect my Bettas" he smirked

"my Father couldn't and he was the strongest Alpha" I would give myself a handshake if I could, insult an Alpha that was a way to go, "when the Brotherhood come after you full force you can't protect anyone trust me I know"

"why would the Brotherhood come after me" he shrugged "the wanted the Morgan Pack because they believed a myth they had a reason, there is no reason for them to go after us" he gestured to the room

"I am sure you all know that Wegman doesn't believe that myth, he is just using the myth as a motivation for his recruits. To make them believe they were giving their lives for something bigger" I said "I am not asking you to save my brother, he is not asking you to save his Betta" I pointed at Scot "What I am asking is for the packs to come together. To fight a common enemy" I looked around the room "if you don't want to be a part of this you can leave I am not going to try to convince you to do anything you don't want to do" I said keeping my voice even "those of you who don't want to help should leave"

I looked at the room expecting it to be empty any time soon but no one moved a muscle

Vaughn leaned forward "I haven't said I won't help you." He said indifferent

"we are all going to help that's why we are here" the Female Alpha said "this thing with the brotherhood has dragged for far too long"

And I was speechless again. What was going on? I looked at Derek then at Satomi then back at Derek who was trying to hide a smile, I wasn't sure about the look I gave him but it had to be a nasty one because the hind of that smile he was hiding disappeared immediately

"we were just testing the waters child" An Alpha I knew but I couldn't remember his name explained the red spot made its appearance again along with a throb on my head which it was spreading to my scalp radically, I felt an hand on my elbow, Derek was standing next to me looking alarmed

"right" I dragged the word trying to gain some time before I spoke being afraid of what would come out of my mouth, I was angry I was insulted and I wanted to yell at them for wasting time just to test my skills at negotiation, the red spot was spreading I pinched the bridge of my nose "and what was the verdict?" the Alpha said something I didn't heard because for a second everything went dark

"Eleonora" Derek squeezed my arm "are you okay?"

"I am fine" I wasn't fine that was weird usually I had that kind of black outs during the full moons "all right and know that you believe I am worthy can we talk about what we are going to do?" I said.
