~June 2015~

"Hey, I just got here. I guess you didn't hear your phone. Don't worry, I'll find you." Skylar smiled as she hung up her phone.
She rounded the corner and ran straight into the back of Alex.
She took a big step back as he turned towards her.
"What are you doing here?" She managed to ask.

"Just visiting." He saw her taking another step back.
"Oh, come on Sky. Quit acting like I'm going to hurt you." He said holding up crutches.
"I'm hardly in the position."

"I have to go." She said, taking a step around him.

"Sky, we have to talk."

"We don't have to do anything." She snapped.

"Ok, then, just listen to me." He started.
"I know I did things that hurt you. I was in a bad place in life. I'm not asking you to forgive me, I'm not even asking for you to be my friend." He took a breath.
"Sky, we are going to have to work together. I'm planning on coming back here when my contract is up in Japan. I don't want there to be any awkwardness between us."

"Hey, back up." Adam warned as he stepped out into the hall, his eyes falling on Sky and Alex.
He walked up fast and placed himself in between them.

"Not trying to start anything." Alex said, backing up.
"I was just trying to apologize. I know it won't fix things, but that's all I was trying to do." He explained.
"I'll see you guys around." He said, calling down the hall to Chris Sabin.

"What was that about?" Adam asked, pulling Sky into his arms.

"He said he wanted to apologize, and that when his contract is up, he's coming here."

"Do you trust him?" Sky shrugged.

"I don't know. I just want to put it behind me." Sky said.
"I've missed you though." She said, pulling his lips to hers.

~Reseda, CA~

"You still in bed?" Adam had been down at the hotel gym for the last hour.
"At least you aren't over the toilet anymore."
The last few months they had been on the road almost constantly. The continuous travel was catching up with her.
She had been under the weather for the last week. Not able to keep anything down. Drained of energy. And just wore out, no matter how much sleep she would get.

"Sorry. I'm getting up." Sky said, pushing the covers back, and forcing herself up.

"I'm not upset Sky. I'm worried." Adam said, reaching for her as she stood from the bed.
Before his hand could reach her, she slumped to the ground, her eyes rolling back and her body going limp.
"Sky!"
She could make out his voice, feel his knees under her head, and his hands on her face.
Then she heard him talking with someone else, giving there room number before the darkness surrounded her again.
She could feel a hand holding hers as she forced her eyes open.

"Adam?" She asked softly.

"Oh, shit. Babe. I didn't know you were awake." Adam stood from the chair he had been in.
Sky looked around, seeing they were in a hospital.

"Where are we?"

"I call for an emt when you passed out."

"I passed out?" She asked, not able to recall what had happened.

"Yeah. But its ok. You're ok." He tried to reassure her.

"What time is it? What about your match?"

"Don't worry about that. It's still really early. But I'm gonna cancel it anyway."

"No. No way Adam."

"Let's just wait until we figure out what's going on with you ok?"
Just as he said that the doctor walked in.

"Ms. Quinn. Good to see you up." He smiled at her.
"You were severely dehydrated. But we got some liquids in you. Gave you something to help with your nausea. Your boyfriend here had told us you've been sick for about a week, so we took some blood, and it would appear that you're pregnant."

"What?!" Skylar asked.
"No. I'm on birth control."

"Have you been taking any other medications?" Sky shook her head.
"Any natural supplements?"
Sky racked her brain.

"St. John's Wort."

"What?" Adam asked.

"One of the girls gave it to me for cramps, but they also use it for muscle pains. But that's the only other thing that I have taken."

"That could have made your birth control ineffective." The doctor explained.
"I'm going to give you something for the morning sickness, that should help you keep food down. You need to follow up with an obstetrician. The nurse will be in here in a couple minutes to unhook your IV and get you two out of here."
The doctor smiled at them both, and walked out, leaving them in silence.
Sky was afraid to look at Adam. She knew she wasn't ready to be a parent, and was worried that he would be mad at her.
Before she could gain the courage to look his direction, the nurse walked in.
Adam reached over and took Sky's hand as the nurse removed her IV. He gave it a squeeze as if begging her to look at him. But she couldn't.
The nurse handed Adam the prescriptions, and told them they were free to leave, telling Sky to start with something easy on her stomach, and to return if the vomiting continued. When she left, Adam squeezed her hand again.

"Sky?" He asked softly. She just shook her head as the tears started to fall.
"Skylar, look at me." When she didn't, he stood and took her face into his hands, gently pulling it up so she would look at him.
He was smiling.
"You're ok, baby." He told her.
"We're ok."

"Yeah?" She asked.

"Yes." Adam smiled, bending over and kissing her lips.
"This isn't a thing to be upset about."

"We're ok." Sky repeated, the tears still coming.
Adam helped her get dressed, pulling her into his arms as they walked out.
After a couple hours rest at the hotel, and a small salad that Adam had brought her, that she was actually able to keep down, Sky felt better.
Better physically, but also emotionally. She was coming to terms with the fact that she was pregnant.
She pulled out her laptop and had Adam sit with her and write up an email to cancel her future dates.
Before she could hit send, there was a knock on the door.
Adam opened the door and Roddy walked in.

"Hey Sky. You look much better than yesterday." He smiled at her.
"You coming tonight?"

"No." Adam answered really fast for her.

"Whoa, why?" Roddy asked, covering his mouth and nose with his hand.
"Is it contagious?"

"No, it's not contagious. And yes I am going." Adam gave her a stern look.
"I'll be fine Ad."

"If its not contagious, what is it?" Roddy asked.
"Fuck. You're knocked up, aren't you?"
Sky's mouth dropped open.

"We aren't telling anyone yet." Adam said.

"Oh shit. I was right!" Roddy grinned.
"Congrats guys. I don't know why you're keeping it quiet. You two will make great parents."

"Well, fuck Adam. If Roddy can figure it out, everyone is going to know."
Adam couldn't help but laugh.

~Christmas Eve 2015~

"Ad, I something's wrong." Sky said. She was almost doubled over in pain.
They were over at his mom's celebrating Christmas, when she had gone to the kitchen to get a drink.
Adam had thought she was gone too long so he went to check on her, and found her not able to walk.

"What's going on?" He rushed over, not quite sire where to place his hands.

"It's my stomach. I think there's something wrong with the baby."

"MOM!" Adam yelled, as he easily lifted Sky, cradling her close to his chest.
His mom ran in the kitchen.

"What's wrong?"

"I need keys." By this time tears were running down Sky's face as she clutched her stomach.
"I gotta take her to the hospital."

"Maybe it's something she ate." Kathy suggested, getting her keys, and holding the door.

"It's gonna be ok Baby." Adam tried to ease her concerns as his mom drove to the closest ER.

"It's probably just something you ate, Sky." Kathy said again.

"Mom, she's pregnant." Adam said, making Kathy speed up more than she already was.
She was taken straight back when they got to the Emergency room.

"I need everything off. Including underwear and bra." The nurse said, putting a gown on the bed.
Adam sat Sky on the bed, helping her with her clothes, that's when they first noticed the bleeding.

"How far along are you?" The doctor asked.

"Not very far. We just found out two weeks ago." Adam said.

"And before that, your menstrual cycle was regular?"

"Yes. My last period was about 5 weeks before we found out." Sky said.
"We hadn't even had time to schedule an appointment with a doctor yet."
The doctor had given her something to help with the pain. And several hours later they were on their way home.
Sky was numb. Not quite sure how or what she was supposed to feel, and Adam looked drained.
When Adam reached for her hand, she pulled away. Not wanting to be touched. Feeling as if all of this was her fault some how.

"Where am I taking you kids?" Kathy asked.

"To my apartment." Sky said softly.
She just wanted to be in her own bed.
Once they arrived at her place, Adam followed behind her.
"No. Stay with your mom." Sky said.

"Wait. Sky?" Adam pleaded.

"I need to be alone."
He stood there and watched as she walked into her building, feeling helpless.
"Sky, come on." Adam tried pulling her out of bed.
"It's been 3 days. I know you haven't eaten anything. And it looks like all you've had to drink is this empty bottle of jack."

"I'm sorry Ad." Sky slurred.
"I'm such a fuck up."

"You're drunk." Adam told her.
"You aren't thinking right. Come on, lets get you in the shower."

"Everything I touch I destroy. It's all my fault." Sky said, tears rolling out of her eyes.
"You should run. Leave me while you can, before I destroy you too."

"None of this is your fault. Sometimes things like this just happen." Adam tried, sitting next to her and taking her hand in his.

"Why can't you just leave me here to die, Ad?" Sky asked.
"Why are you even here?"

"I love you Skylar."

"How can you still love me when I can't even do what comes natural to women." Sky said.
"I fail at the most basic things."

"Skylar, this isn't your fault." Adam tried, as she pulled her hand from his.
"You know you aren't the only one hurting here. I'm trying to push how I'm feeling aside and help you through this."

"No one asked you too."

"Tell me what to do Sky. Tell me how to help you."

"Just leave me alone."
With that, Adam stood and left.
