The ground beneath Kana's feet was an oily black and echoed like glass with every slow step she took. There were no walls, or ceiling, one space and storm clouds. She walked carefully, eyes locked in the figure in front of her as he gave her an amused look and 'allowed' her to circle him. He even brought his arms out to display himself before her and Kana chuckled. He was just as pale as she was, with sharply upturned violet eyes and long black hair pulled back into a high ponytail. A long familiar purple ribbon held it together. He was also taller than she was, had a sharp pointed face and wore an outfit she could admit she was slightly jealous of. Is was a kimono, sort of, with many layers of purple, black, grey and white. The top most was that same purple shade, the pattern of storm clouds on it. As the kimono got longer, however, fabric was replaced by true clouds around his feet that flickered with tiny sparks of lightning.
"So, you're my Zanpakuto." She mumbled before grinning widely and engulfing the figure in a hug. He laughed lightly and patted her back before they separated and Kana drank in the sight of him greedily.
"I am indeed. I have been trying to talk to you for so long now." Even his voice was like music to her hears, she had been dying to hear it for so long. It had an echo to it, the strongest being a silky low tone but behind that you could hear a sweet lilt, as well as a low low rumble that resonated around them.
Kana shrugged and smiled apologetically at him.
"I've been trying to listen. I've been dying to hear you! Together we can be so much more!" She said, throwing her arms open as she grinned excitedly.
"I've been growing faster, growing stronger, I'm no longer just a human. I don't yet know entirely what I am, but part of that is Shinigami and I'm going to be the most powerful one there is." Her Zanpakuto tilted his head and he listened to her, eyes sparkling and lips curling into a wry smile.
"And how is it, exactly, that you expect to do that? Do you truly think you're worthy of me? Think you can control me?" Both Kana's smile and her stomach dropped and she lowered her arms, staring.
"What do you mean...?" Kana started off slow, but her voice grew into a growling shout as she talked.
"Worthy? Control!? You're a part of my soul! A part of me! You're meant to fight with me, meant to help me win, help me grow! We're supposed to work together. I'm not trying to control you, I'm trying to become one with you!" Her shout echoed and she huffed slightly. Her Zanpakuto started towards her, gliding more than walking, with one arm crossing his chest and the other reaching out towards her. His fingers grasped a lock of her hair, and he stared at his fingers running through it. His eyes snapped back to hers in a cold stare, lips curling slightly. His fingers moved swiftly, hand snapping around her jaw and Kana's own hand flew up, grasping his wrist and twisting.
"If you disappoint me," Kana hissed and his hold tightened.
"I will disappear in a snap. I can see how far you can reach. I can see how powerful you can become. It is up to you to go so far."
With a wrench of her hand she tore his fingers away from her face and stepper closer to him so they were chest to chest with a grin.
"I won't become powerful alone. Together, we will have everyone in awe of our power." She cackled and her Zanpakuto chuckled alongside of her.
"Together then! Shout my name, and all will tremble!"
The world shifted and Kana found herself facing Hisagi Shuhei once more. This world seemed so dull in comparison of where she had just been, but Kana didn't care. She was running on the high of meeting her Zanpakuto, of the power surging through her. Tilting her head to the side and giving Shuhei a mocking grin, she raised her blade to the sky.
"Kogeki, Arashi no Kami!" She shouted, a rumble of thunder roaring over head in competition with her voice. She snapped her blade to her side and with a crackling purple glow it extended and separated. Her zanpakuto made a loud crack as it snapped against the floor. Arashi was long and shaped like a whip, though it wasn't smooth like one. Instead of leather there were scaled blades, and lightning crackled along the length. Cackling Kana raised her whip again, snapping it towards the Lieutenant. He tried to dodge but was too slow, and her bladed-whip snapped against his left arm. It left long slices that slowly oozes blood, and his arm jerked uncontrollably for a moment from the shock of the lightning.
"How beautiful! How powerful!" Kana purred as she brought Arashi up to get a better look, kissing the tip of the hilt. The ribbon that previously hung from the hilt was no longer there, instead holding her hair up in a ponytail like Arashi's. Hearing the crinkle of a chain, Kana scowled as she leapt to dodge Shuhei's attack.
"Tch, can't even have a moment alone to enjoy ourselves." Kana mumbled, pulling her zanpakuto to her back-right side.
"I have more important things to do." Her right arm swung forwards, the bladed whip of Arashi no Kami slicing towards her opponent faster than he could dodge. As Kana cackled Shuhei bled more and more as she struck him repeatedly. By the time she was done, the Lieutenant was in a crumbled form on the ground, oozing blood and limbs twitching. He was conscious, but seemed unable to move and Kana gave Arashi a final crack as he returned to his unreleased form. Shuhei seemed to spark for a second before his blade also returned, and Kana frowned at his form. She hadn't expected to have won that easily, but she had had the element of surprise on her side, as well as facing an enemy that was unsure of how to handle his own power. Turning back to the way she been going before Kana flash stepped away as the sky started to clear.
As fun as that was, and as rushing as the feeling of releasing her Zanpakuto was, it was also draining and she needed to find a blast to rest before running into anyone else. She seemed to have luck on her side for the moment as well, as a 'psst' from her side had her come to a halt. With a grin she sprinted into the building, sliding the door behind her.
"How's it goin'? She asked with a crooked smile as Orihime gave her a big hug. Laughing she patted the shorter girl on the head.
"Kana-chan! You're hurt!" She chirped and Kana blinked at her.
"I am?" Ishida sighed beside her, shaking his head.
"You don't even notice your own wounds? Look, you're dripping blood all over the floor." Kana looked down, frowning at her state.
"I hadn't even noticed. I was having too much fun." She chuckled, taking a seat on the floor as Orihime pushed on her shoulders.
"What a brute..." Kana sent a glare at Ishida before Orihime had that healing dome around Kana.
"Woah, that feels fuckin' weird." Orihime smiled gently at her and Kana yawned.
"Alrighty, well, wake me if sumthin' happens." She said, crossing her arms behind her head and allowing herself to doze off.
