"Gideon, activate log," Barry said as he slowly inserted a small crystal into a piece of alloy. The face of Gideon appeared over his terminal as he began speaking. "This week was...eventful, to say the least. The old group came back to 'mentor' the new guys, but...it ended up just being a repeat of last year. Quinn and Santana fought about the Kitty and Marley situation. Mercedes and Sam were discussing their on and off relationship over and over again," He said.
"I reconciled with Kitty, and apologized for my...meltdown, in the hallway last week," Barry said as he slipped another crystal into the alloy. "Ryder, Jake and I have become...friends. Mainly over discussions about trigonometry and the Glee Club,"
Barry sighed, watching as he molded the cut piece of alloy back together. He grabbed it, and placed it on a mannequin, watching as blue energy suddenly developed around it. "Project 16P37G9 is near completion. This version of advanced tachyon circuitry should give speedster members of the Justice League a speed boost in crucial races or fights,"
He moved to another chest plate in the room, which was surrounding its own mannequin with bright yellow light. "This yellow sun chestplate should give Clark and Kara the boost they need in battles against large scale enemies like Zod, Reign, or even Doomsday,"
He moved to another chestplate to his left, which had a small cord attached to a small gauntlet located on the mannequin's right hand. "This chestplate should alloy Hal to absorb more cosmic energy from people, things, or places around him. So, instead of not having a charged ring in battle, he'll have a source of energy as backup,"
Barry then moved to his left, where a sword, shield, lasso, and a small briefcase sat. "I took some inspiration when it came to developing Diana's weapons. Her sword retracts from a golden pen, which can be stored in her pocket to avoid suspicion, and her shield turned into flashlight, which will also avoid suspicion in public spaces. The lasso is nearly identical to her original, but after my last run in with Ricky Groom, I've laced it with Cicada's dagger. This means that if she wraps it around a meta, their powers will be dampened under its strain,"
Grabbing the suitcase, he placed the thumbprint scanner on a mannequin laced with Bruce Wayne's fingerprints, and watched as an advanced mech-suit suddenly materialized from the suitcase. "Seeing as Bruce is a businessman, no one would ask why he's always carrying around a suitcase. I'm working on an on-body nano-tech replacement for the Batsuit, but it'll take a while,"
"Seeing as I've been developing new tech for the League, it would only make sense that I am also developing new gadgets, tech, and suits for them in my free time," Barry said as looked over the large containers in the corner labeled 'Green Arrow', 'Stargirl', 'Superman', and 'Jesse Quick'.
"Mr. Allen, have you recently check on Earth-15?" Gideon asked.
"I have Gideon, and they seem to be doing great. The humans, Kryptonians, Daxamites, and the Martians are getting along great as we speak. They've set up trade among the four civilizations, and have even helped each other reach Stage 2 civilizations. Meaning they can harvest the sun's energy without consuming it all," Barry said as he phased a pair of crystals into another chestplate. "End log Gideon," Barry said, sighing as the log cut off, leaving him alone with his thoughts.
Mr. Allen
"Overmonitor," Barry replied.
Correct. Due to recent events, the Catastrophe of Infinite Multiverses will take place two months from now, on January 25th, 2013.
"What's the threat? How do we stop Evig?"
You cannot stop this Catastrophe Mr. Allen, but you can prevent it from completing its mission.
"How do we do that?"
HALL OF JUSTICE
Barry Allen, Oliver Queen, Clark Kent, Diana Prince, Bruce Wayne, Hal Jordan, Jesse Quick, Courtney Whitmore, and Doctor Fate all sat at the large Round Table that sat in the middle of the grand hall. Barry sighed, before addressing the team. "Justice League, as you know, a catastrophe worse than Crisis itself is among us. On January 25th, the Source Wall will be ruptured by the Highfather, who is currently under the control of Evig, a higher being exiled in the Source. She will enter the Multiverse through this rupture, and begin to suck in world after world, spreading into other Multiverses until there's nothing but Evig,"
"So...we stop Highfather?" Hal asked.
"No, unfortunately, Evig's already found out how to break through the Source Wall. Even if we take down Highfather, she'll just take someone else over," Barry said.
"So we take her out personally before she seeps into the Multiverse?" Jesse asked.
"Precisely, but like the Crisis...we can't do it alone," Barry said as he placed a laptop in front of the team. "Earth-7642 and Earth-16 should provide us with all of the heroes we need to put an end to Evig's catastrophe,"
"That's good and all, but...how do we stop a cloud?" Bruce asked.
"With energy," Barry said as he pointed at Hal. "Your ring gives you the ability to construct energy into weapons or resources. But Evig is too powerful, not even all of the Lantern Corps combined couldn't create enough energy to kill her. So…"
"We have to use the sun," Bruce finished.
"Exactly. If I placed a Dyson's Sphere around the sun, we could hypothetically create enough energy to disrupt Evig, or at least condense her cloud to beatable size. I'll even create a way to transfer ring energy to the Dyson's Sphere," said Barry. "Seeing as we only have two months, I need you to go out and collect as many Lanterns as you can, Hal,"
"On it,"
"Bruce, I need you to gather as much intel as you can regarding people on this Earth that can help," Barry said, receiving a nod from Bruce. "Clark, you and I will have to visit an old friend of mine soon," Clark nodded.
"Courtney, Jesse, and Oliver. You three are gonna go back to the Metaverse and get their help. I have a feeling we're gonna need it," The three nodded. "Diana, go back home, and recruit as many willing Amazons as you can," She nodded.
"Doctor Fate, I need you to go to Earth-16, and gather any heroes you find are capable of helping us in this catastrophe," Barry said. Doctor Fate nodded.
"Ok, so the plan is...get an army, build a Dyson's Sphere around the sun, use that energy to weaken Evig, and take her down?" Clark asked.
"The Overmonitor informed me that Evig conforms into a physical form when her power is weakened. So, if we break her down to that physical form, we can wipe her out of existence," Barry said. "But it'll come at a cost,"
"What cost?" Courtney asked.
"The Megaverse, or the infinite collection of Multiverses," Barry said. "I can save many of the universes, but in doing so would sacrifice all the rest for the survival of the few...the price to pay for my actions,"
"None of this is -"
"My fault? This is just like the Invasion, not the recent one, but the Dominator one in the original timeline. Hell, even the latest one was because of my presence here," Barry said. "This catastrophe is because I've been too afraid to use my extreme powers. With the snap of my finger, all crime could be over. With the wave of my hand, all evil metas would be law-abiding citizens,"
"So...why don't you?" Clark asked.
Because he's afraid. The Overmonitor spoke. All of his life, Mr. Allen has believe he is at fault for his father's imprisonment. He blamed himself for Ronnie Raymond and Eddie Thawne's death. His father's death. Flashpoint. Ralph Dibney. Etc. Etc. He blames himself for all of it. Seeing as Mr. Allen has extraordinary abilities, he is afraid that if he uses them in any situation, repercussions would ensue.
"So...what type of repercussions?" Hal asked.
"If I end crime in Central City, WWIII will start, and Central City would be nuked or whatever," Barry said. "Cause and effect,"
"So...the plan," Bruce moved back to the point. "We recruit the army, save a select few of Multiverses to save, build the Dyson's Sphere, use it and the Lanterns energy to injure Evig, kill Evig, and...celebrate?"
"Not quite. In the original Metaverse timeline, Mar Novu used things call Quantum Towers to merge universes into one universe dense enough to survive the antimatter wave. I'm hoping to do the same thing, only on a much larger scale," Barry said.
"Woah, woah, woah. You want to merge three whole Multiverses?" Hal asked.
"Four, actually. These four Quantum Towers will be placed on this Earth, Metaverse Earth, 'Marvelverse' Earth, and Sverse Krypton," Barry said.
"Sverse? Krypton?" Clark asked.
"Yes. The Sverse is the only Multiverse in the entire Megaverse where Krypton survives," Barry said. "I...I want you and Kara to live your lives...the way they were supposed to be," He said.
"Thank you, Barry," Clark said. "That means a lot,"
"No problem. Anyway, after I set up the Quantum Tower, the Kryptonians should be able to give us a hand, especially under the yellow sun," Barry said.
"Wait, Krypton's going to be in this solar system?" Bruce asked.
"Yeah, like I said, we need all the help we can get," Barry said. "So. To recap. Set up the Quantum Towers in the four Multiverse. Merge them. Create the Dyson's Sphere, and used it to direct energy from the sun. Using it and the Lanterns' energy, we'll weaken Evig to her physical state, and then...with the army, Kryptonians, and Lanterns, we'll kick her ass,"
"Cool," Jesse said.
"So...let's get to work!" Barry shouted as he stood up from the table. "You know your assignments. Stop by your rooms before you go!"
"Hey, Barry," Clark approached the scarlet speedster. "So...who's this friend of yours?"
"Kara Zor-El...of Earth-38,"
THREE HOURS LATER
Barry looked up at the daylight sky, watching as his now complete Dyson's Sphere suddenly closed around the sun, blocking large amounts of light from appearing. However, after several minutes, the Dyson's Sphere activated, and reflected the light out into the solar system. "All units, the Dyson's Sphere is currently in use," Barry said before teleporting just outside of the Dyson's Sphere. He approached it, grabbing a small handle among the vast surface, and pulled it off, watching as a gigantic nano-cannon suddenly began to orbit the sphere.
"Cannon active and on alert for any signatures," Barry said before teleporting back to the Hall of Justice, where Kal-El was waiting. "So, are you ready to Earth-38?"
"What exactly is this Earth like?" Kal asked, obviously curious about their destination. Barry grinned. "It's an amazing place. It's a place set in the future, and everything is...well...different," Barry said as a breach suddenly appeared in front of them.
"Are you ready?" Kal asked.
"Yep," The two stepped through the open breach, appearing in the middle of a large open city. "Here we are...National City,"
"National City?" Clark asked.
"PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR!" Barry and Clark turned to find a squad of leather-clad people standing mere feet away, their futuristic looking weapons trained on the two heroes. Alex Danvers and Hank Henshaw taking up the forefront. "I said put your hands in the air!" Alex yelled once again.
"Alex Danvers!" Barry shouted as he cautiously approached the group, his hands raised. "We come in peace, not harm! I believe your sister, Kara Danvers, knows me! I'm the Flash!"
"THE Flash?" Alex asked, her weapon lowering slightly as realization spread across her face. "The speedster that helped Supergirl defeat Livewire and Silver Banshee?!"
"Yes! That's me!" Barry exclaimed, grinning as the DEO agents lowered their weapons. "This is my Earth's Superman, or Kal-El," He introduced. "Kal, this is Alex Danvers, Kara's adoptive sister, and Hank Henshaw, the Director of the DEO,"
"Nice to meet you, Superman," Hank announced.
"Nice to meet you as well, Mr. Henshaw," Clark said.
"What are you doing back here, Flash? Not that we don't mind your presence, but…" Alex trailed off, her thoughts mingling elsewhere as Barry told them the situation.
"There is a catastrophe coming," said Barry. "A higher being known as Evig is going to spread through the Megaverse, a collection of Multiverses, erasing everything in sight in two months. We need Team Supergirls' help," Barry said. "Where is Supergirl?"
"She's...recovering. After you left she had a large battle with a Kryptonian named Non. She had to kill him, but was injured in the process," Alex explained. "She's most likely at her apartment,"
"Ok. I'll go get her. Kal, go to the Daily Planet and get Clark. We'll need his help as well," Barry said before taking off in a blur of blue.
NATIONAL CITY, KARA DANVERS' APARTMENT
Barry Allen sped into the apartment as the speed of sound, his stop blowing away papers and folders across the complex. "Oh my god!" Barry turned to find one Kara Danvers sitting on the couch, a bowl of popcorn in hand, watching a musical Barry had never seen. "B-Barry?" Kara asked. "Is that you?"
"Yeah," Barry answered, his cowl dematerializing to reveal his much younger face. "Yeah...a lot has happened in the past...fifteen years,"
"Fifteen years?" Kara asked. "It's only been a few weeks,"
"Not for me. For me it's been fifteen long years. You see, after I left, I returned home. Married Iris, had a few crossovers, participated in Crisis. Divorced from Iris. Had kids. Got married. Lost everything. Gained everything. And now I need your help to not lose everything again," Barry said.
"Wait...you're from the future? But you look like you're sixteen," said Kara.
"It was the paradox effect. I replaced my younger self when I travelled back in time," Barry said. "Kal should be back with Clark any minute. So...will you help me save the Megaverse?"
"Megverse?"
"A collection of Multiverses. A higher being known as Evig is going to break through the Source Wall, and take over the Multiverse, spreading out into multiple Multiverses. I already have a plan to stop her, but...I need your help," Barry said.
"Sure, but, um...I'm not really prepared for a fight," Kara said, gesturing down to her leg, which was in a cast.
"Don't worry about that. The fight isn't for another two months," Barry said as he tapped her on the forehead. "You should be good now," Kara looked at him confused, before standing up straight, the cast breaking as she did so.
"How did you do that?" Kara asked.
"Here. Let me show you," Barry tapped her forehead once again, filling her mind with every memory she had till Crisis. As well as the memories of his trials. "Oh my god...Oliver,"
"He's alive now. That was just four year after we met. There was still eleven after that. I brought him back when I ruptured the Multiverse," Barry said. "This catastrophe is bigger than Crisis. Much larger. That's why you need to come with me,"
"Why now? You said we had two months," said Kara.
"I know, but…" Barry raised his hand, watching as a gigantic tower tore through the ground, rising up into the clouds, before reaching space.
"That's...a quantum tower?" Kara asked. "Wait, those merged our Earth's last time,"
"I know. That's the point," Barry said as the tower clicked on, radiating blue as the Earth violently shook for a second. "Four Multiverses mixed into one, in the hopes that it will be strong enough to withstand Evig's cloud. So...are you in?"
"Absolutely,"
ONE HOUR LATER
Kal-El, Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Kara Zor-El, Alex Danvers, Hank Henshaw, Winn Schott, James Olsen, and Barry Allen all stood in the middle of the street, a bright blue breach mere inches away from them. "So, when can we come back?" Clark asked.
"In a few seconds. I've already set up the Quantum Towers in the Meta and Marvel Multiverses, as well as the...well, you'll see," Barry said, stepping through the breach to find themselves back in National City. "Welcome to the Multiverse," Barry said, motioning to the combined universes.
"Mr. Allen, you are receiving a call from 'Ryder'," Gideon announced.
"Hey, Ryder, what's up?" Barry asked, motioning for the others to stay silent. Ryder sounded panicked. "Dude, Marley just vanished! We were all chilling at Breadstix, when she just vanished!" Barry looked over, grinning at the sight of Kara, who now looked like she was sixteen.
"She's right in front of me," Barry announced over the phone. He quickly hung up, and stared at Kara. "Are you ok...Marley?"
"Marley?" Clark asked.
"Her alter ego here on Earth-1," Kal said.
"Barry? Who am I?" Mara asked.
"Kara and Marley. Your body and mind did the same thing it did to me. I wouldn't be surprised if Clark and Kal mixed in a minute," Barry said. "So...how do you feel?"
"Young," Kara responded as she grinned. "What year is it on this Earth?"
"2012," Barry responded.
"Wait, like Oliver 2012?" Kara asked.
"Guys!" Everyone turned to find Clark and Kal-El mixing together, as well as Lois and Alex. After several moments, Clark, Alex, and Lois stood in front of them, with Alex now looking sixteen as well. "Guys...this is insane," Lois said in alarm.
"Yes, it is, but this isn't even the end. I still haven't activated the Meta, Marvel, or surprise towers. I wouldn't be surprised if this happens a few more times," Barry said. "Metaverse tower going up...now," Barry felt a strange sensation as his Metaverse self suddenly bonded with his mind. The connection affected the others too. Kara's hair became a very light blonde. Clark, Alex, and Lois were the same, but J'onn was now a very light shade of green, with a slight hint of black in his features.
"Was...that was weird," Kara said, admiring her straight blonde hair, which she casually stroked. Barry laughed. "Well, there's one more of that coming for you and Clark,"
"What?" Clark asked. "What's going on?"
"Three...Two...One," Barry snapped his fingers, watching as the buildings around them suddenly began to become futuristic, while Clark and Kara suddenly shifted. Kara's hair remained bright blonde, but returned to its curled nature, and her suit was different. Instead of the regular deep blue, it was now bright blue and red, with the skirt being slightly shorter than before.
Clark's suit was now full-body, being the same shade of blue as Kara's, with a red utility belt around his waist. His hair was now gelled over, with a small curl present on the right.
"Wow...this is...different," Clark said. "Krypton's...alive,"
"You gave us our home," Kara said, tears falling from her eyes as she hugged Barry. "Thank you...my superfriend,"
"No prob-" Barry was cut off by the sound of a large cry of pain. Everyone in the room abruptly turned to find a large giant standing several blocks away, a woman clutched in his large hands as he walked in the opposite direction from them. "Oh my god...Highfather. He...he has Jamie,"
"Jamie? Who the hell is Jamie?" James asked.
"Jamie Corrigan. The future female version of the Spectre. No doubt Highfather is going to use her in some way," Barry said. "We need to get her back as soon as...possible," Barry shivered slightly as a feeling of coldness and death washed over him. He could see the others talk to him, but he couldn't make out their words.
You cannot win this time Barry Allen. I have seen every possible future, and they all result in your inevitable loss. I will rise through the wall, spread my essence from Multiverse to Multiverse, and when I am done, and your pathetic new Multiverse is all that's left, I will break through slowly but surely, chiseling away all hope of a possible future.
"You talk a lot of talk, and yet I've never physically seen you. You're scared, exiled, and we will beat you," Barry announced as he turned away from the confused group. "We will kill you, piece by piece, spec by spec, until there is nothing left,"
I WILL END YOU ALL! Evig shouted through the mental link. Iris. Joe. Cisco. Caitlin. Finn. Rachel. Clark. Alex...Kara. I will erase them all, and you cannot stop me.
"I will stop you," Barry countered, determination seeping through his words. "I will beat you,"
Then come and get me. Without warning Barry stood in the middle of Central City, where a large female figure stood, towering over him. The figure grinned maliciously as she came out of the shadows, her features coming forth as Barry gasped.
"K-Kara?"
