"Give me the knife". Pam demanded.
"Why? It's still my turn" Lex demanded in return.
Pam held her hand out moments before the door opened.
"Never mind, here you go". Lex quickly handed Pam the blade.
"Smart choice". She complimented while wrapping her hand around the knife.
"How is our guest"/ Eric asked his children as he descended the stairs.
"Peachy" Pam replied with a smile.
Eric approached De Castro with examining eyes. "The Guardian will be here this evening. Feed and clean our guest. Make him appear as though he truly has been peachy".
"Yes, Master" Pam answered with disappointment.
Eric smiled at his child before he turned to leave. As he ascended the stairs, Pam gathered their tools and Lex began to unchain De Castro.
"Lex, your blade technique could use improvement". Eric critiqued as he reached the last few steps.
"How did he know"? Lex asked after Eric shut the door behind him.
"He knew because I cut with precision and you could use improvement".
"One day, I will be better than you". He declared with confidence.
"You are so adorable with your hopes and dreams". Pam patronized as she pinched his cheeks.
Eric returned to find Sookie on the couch where he left her.
"How are you feeling"? He asked as he climbed behind her on the couch.
"Pregnant, very pregnant".
Eric placed his hand on Sookie's stomach after she finished adjusting to his presence on the couch.
"The Guardian will arrive this evening. He will want to ask you questions".
"I'll be fine".
"Are you sure"?
"I was only held capture. He never harmed me".
"Lucky for him".
"I know" Sookie smiled at her husband.
De Castro's fangs dropped involuntarily as Pam hosed him with cold water.
"Wouldn't it be easier to clean him up after he has been fed and can at least stand"? Lex asked watching him lay almost lifeless on the concrete floor.
"Compared to having to fight with him every step, no".
"Point taken".
"You'll learn, young grasshopper, you'll learn".
"I hope you are right. It seems like every time I make a step forward, something like this shows me what little I know". Lex admitted before he plopped down on a chair.
"Lex", Pam began softly "You are still a baby even by human standards. Vampires are turned as human adults. Yes, you were given an amazing gift of being born into the vampire race but you still have to grow up. I am proud of how much you have grown but you are not done".
Lex smiled at his sister's words.
"Enough with the sappiness. Help me get him cleaned up". Pam demanded.
Eric heard movement in the compound and closed his book to look at the time. The Guardian would arrive in a few hours. H gently caressed the arm of his sleeping queen.
"Sookie, my love, it's time to wake".
"Do I have too? I am comfortable". She complained.
"Yes, my love. I think you are a vision, drool and all but you might want to wash your face before the Guardian arrives". He answered with a soft laugh.
"Seriously, Eric?! That is all you had to say". She began to rock in different directions to find a position that would allow her to stand up from the couch. After several failed attempts "A little help"?
"That's all you had to say". Eric answered with a smile.
Sookie playfully slapped him on the arm.
Lex opened the door to the basement carrying blood bags.
"Dad said to hook him up and then to go get dressed for dinner".
Pam held out her hand to take the bags of blood from Lex. "Come, watch, learn" Pam directed as she took the bags from his hands and walked over to De Castro's cell.
She unlocked, opened the door and then heled it open for Lex to follow.
"First, you do not rip open a bag of blood and poor it down your guest's throat. You start an IV. It is effective and more controlled". Pam rips open an IV kit and prepare the transfusion.
"Can you find a vain for me"? She asked Lex.
"How"?
"The same as on a human. Listen for the blood".
Lex closed his eyes and concentrated on De Castro's almost silent blood flow.
"The neck and leg". He finally concluded.
"Since we need him to be fully dressed, we cannot use the vain in the leg".
"The neck it is". He announced.
"Correct". Pam handed Lex the needle for the IV. "Pointy end goes in the vain".
"Thanks, I would have never figured that one out". Lex replied with an eye roll.
Lex listened for the blood flow and then slowly slid the needle in the side of De Castro's neck.
"Now we adjust the flow". Pam instructed as she worked.
"Are we done"?
"Just in time" Pam checked her watch "Let's go".
They exited the cell where DeCastro was cuffed to a chair. Pam locked the door behind then and they both proceeded up the stairs.
King Peter's staff was buzzing all around as they entered the main level of the house.
"Go get dressed" Pam told Lex before he headed to his room.
Pam found Eric and Peter in the study.
"De Castro is clean and recovering".
"Thank you, Pam". Eric dismissed her to get ready for the Guardian's arrival.
Everyone of any importance was lounging around the main living room in anticipation for the night's activities. Pam was casually talking to Shane. Sookie had her feet up in a chase lounge with Eric standing to the side of her with his arm draped over the back of the chair. Peter was educating Lex in the art of monarch.
The doorbell rang and everyone stared at the door willing the head of staff to appear and announce the Guardian's arrival.
There is a knock at the door.
"Enter" Peter instructed.
"The Guardian" the member of staff announced.
"Thank you" Peter dismissed.
"Guardian, welcome".
"Thank you, King Bishop" he returned.
"King Northman. Queen Northman". The Guardian continued to greet guests.
"Good evening, Guardian, forgive my condition" Sookie waved her hand over her sitting form.
"Nothing to forgive. Please rest".
Sookie nodded her head in thanks.
"Shall we dine"? Asked King Peter.
"Yes, the Guardian accepted"
"This way" Peter directed everyone.
Eric helped Sookie to her feet before walking out of the room with her.
"How are you feeling, my love"?
"I will be fine, slow but fine".
"Let me know when you are no longer fine".
"I'm not a china doll and this isn't my first rodeo".
"I know" Eric smiled.
"Please sit" Peter directed his guest as they entered the dining room.
Everyone went to take their seats.
"Queen Sookie, please have a seat next to me". The Guardian requested.
Sookie looked to Eric, who nodded his approval.
"Thank you" She acknowledged.
In between bites, the Guardian asked Sookie questions.
"How did Victor take you from your home"?
"We were teaching Lex the importance of security that night. I was on the edge of the property by the fence. Vampire that I had never seen before came running towards me. I knew that I was pregnant but had not told Eric. I cannot control my magic when I am pregnant, so there was nothing that I could do".
"I see where did Victor take you"?
"To the airport. We boarded a plane for Nevada"
The Guardian took a sip of blood from his wine glass. "Why couldn't Northman find you"?
"Victor had a witch remove our bond".
"Interesting, did he tell you why he took you"?
"For my ability to birth vampires".
The Guardian gave a look of disgust. "Did he ever present you to anyone"?
"Yes, he presented me to King Peter".
"What was De Castro's role if he had one"?
"He sheltered us as well as used my telepathy in his dealings with humans".
"But he knew who you were and Victor's intentions"? The Guardian asked as he took another sip from his wine glass.
Sookie rested her spoon in the soup bowl. "Yes, he has met me before. He has even visited our home. Victor would not have brought me back to his compound without De Castro's blessing and protection".
"Thank you for indulging me, Queen Northman". He acknowledged before wiping his mouth before turning to King Peter. "Thank you for a lovely mal, King Bishop. I hate to eat and run but much work goes into planning a summit.
King Northman, please inform me of the princess' arrival so that I may finalize the summit. No sense in putting Queen Northman through a trial in her condition". He finished with a motion of his hand for his guards to follow King Peter.
"Trial"? Sookie questioned.
"Yes, you told me everything that I needed to know to put De Castro on trial".
"I did"?
"Yes, remember all of the questions that I asked you"? The Guardian responded confused.
"Yes, but that was just a casual conversation".
"I'm not bound by human laws. I may retrieve information however I choose. And I chose to have a casual conversation with an extremely pregnant woman who had been kidnapped while surrounded by her family instead of in an empty room".
"I appreciate that".
The Guardian nodded his head to Sookie and then turned to King Peter.
"Please direct my men to retrieve the prisoner".
"Certainly. Pamela, Lex, please show them the way".
Pam and Lex left the dining room with the guards close behind.
