Lanasya was not pleased. She had been sitting in the main lobby of the psyker training ground for a few hours now. The Soulseers present have been in a meeting since her arrival, even after she went through all the medical screening and physical tests. Yet even after that she still had to wait for them.

Like the Space Marine's fortress monastery, the psyker training grounds were built into the side of a mountain with the Soulseers training grounds being deeper into the mountain. While there were psyker schools in every city, the training grounds were the final step in training for training psykers before they were considered fully combat ready psykers.

A young man walked up to her and stopped before her. He wore a type of armored robe with a blindfold over his eyes. He was blind that much she could tell; most likely he was using the warp to see.

"Greetings eldar, I have come to inform you that the Soulseers will see you now." He then turned and started to walk away.

"Wait!" Lanasya called getting up and going after him. "Were I'm I supposed to go? I do not know the layout of the building."

He raised an eyebrow at her before it fell moments later. "Ah you must be the emerging psyker the masters spoke off. Normally the people here have already learned how to use their gifts and can navigate the halls by their powers alone. Follow me I shall show you to the Soulseers' chambers."

The two began their journey to the Soulseers' Chambers. As they made their way deeper and deeper into the mountain, the number of people walking around began to decrease rapidly, by the time the reached the inner most part of the training grounds there were only about ten people walking around. The two then made their way to a set of large double doors.

"Beyond these doors is the Soulseers' Chambers." The young man said looking up at the metal doors. "I would be very careful when speaking with the Soulseers while most of them are well mannered, some of them have short tempers. Always address them as Master, unless they say otherwise, they also will suffer no fools so do not bring your racial views into that room with you. They will know if you do."

He then stepped away and the doors began to open. There was a sharp creaking sound as the doors opened as if they had not been opened in quite some time. When the doors had fully open Lanasya saw that they led into a dark hallway as no light was present to light the way. She stood there for a time as if waiting for something to happen, she noticed that everyone in her immediate area stopped to watch her.

Swallowing a lump in her throat, she began to walk down the hall. The sound of her footsteps echoing with every step she took. The door soon closed behind her leaving her in complete darkness. Even with her superior eyes she was unable to see Infront of her. As she walked, she suddenly found that she had walked into a wall. She had to be walking for at least ten minutes before another door began to open letting in light.

She brought up her hand to block out the light as her eyes had tried to adjust to the pitch-black darkness of the hallway. When her eyes finally adjusted again, she found herself in a type of counsel room with a large circular table before her. There were twenty-seven seats around the table, five of which were occupied by an armored figure. Only one had his helmet on.

Their armor was simple in design being full body power armor, some parts of the armor hovered in place just above their bodies with a different colored energy connecting them to the rest of the armor. The one with the helmet had no visible visor, but she had a feeling he could still see.

Just from being in their presence she could feel just how powerful they were. The most powerful being in the room being the one with his helmet on, it felt like his armor was keeping all of his energy contained. The other Soulseer who had their helmet off were looking at her as well. Two were human, both male while the other two where eldar, one male and the other female.

"Welcome Lanasya of Craftworld Ulthwé." The one with the helmet spoke, power dripping from his voice. His armor color was a bloody red and seemed to be seeping out of his armor joints. "I must congratulate you for completing the first part of the test so easily."

'Test? What test?'

"The one you just walked through." The first human male said his eyes glowing slightly the same color as his armor energy being an orange color.

"We were bombarding your soul with low level psychic attacks as you made your way here." The female eldar said her armor energy being a black color. "Even in your untrained state you managed to walk here without any sign of our attacks affecting you. Very impressive."

"But I did not feel anything."

"Your soul seems to have a natural defense, although weak to our standards, it is stronger than most natural defense at your level of psychic knowledge." The second human said his armor energy being a deep blue.

"Even with this stronger than average natural defense you still have little to no control over your powers." The eldar male with purple energy coming off his armor. "We would normally never entertain the idea of taking on an aspirant when he or she is still in their emerging phase. But the headmaster of Preserver academy feels that you should begin Soulseer training in your emerging phase."

"On the Headmaster's wishes you shall take the Soulseer trial to see if you are worthy to sit among us."

"This test will not only test your psionic power level but also your very soul."

"To fail in this test could mean your death, as you are an eldar your soul will go to the dark god of pleasure."

Lanasya flinched at that.

"Are you still willing to go through this trial?"

She began to weigh her options. To have her soul taken by She Who Thirst was the worst thing that could happen to an eldar. She would be tortured for an eternity before being consumed by the vile god. How could she do this with no knowledge on controlling her powers.

She felt something touch her shoulder. She turned her head to see who it was but saw nothing there, but at the same time she knew who was touching her shoulder. She felt her bondmate comforting her, telling her that he would be with her every step of the way.

"I wish to continue."

"Very well."

The present Soulseers stood and pointed each one of their hands at her.

"We will teleport you to the trails deep within the mountain, we will teleport you out when you have completed the trial. Know this the ward that hides Reach from the Warp is almost nonexistent in this area of the mountain you will see things that are not truly there, but you still need to be wary of them."

Lanasya started to feel the pull of the warp around her, her eyes became heavy and she felt herself fall to the ground blacking out moments later. When she came to, she found that she had been transported to a box room with only one exit. Light came from the ceiling allowing her to see that the walls were shaped stone. The same went for the floor as did the door which looked like multiple stone slabs that would pull apart to open.

She got to her feet and took a closer look around. Some of the walls bore carvings of some sort of battle with human-looking creatures fighting demons the like she had never seen before. Another wall showed a large human-looking creature standing over others. The one after that showed two large cravings one being the large creature from the last carving and a large demon fighting one another. The last wall showed some kind of funeral with the large human-creature being carried towards a mountain.

'Is this a tomb?' Lanasya thought to herself.

Seeing nothing else in the room Lanasya began to move towards the door. As she neared it the room began to shake slightly, and the stone slabs began to move back. When the door had finished opening, she was faced with a long hallway. She started to walk down the hallway, the sound of her footsteps echoing throughout the tomb.

When she reached the end of the hallways, she found another door just like the one she had just went through, it too opened as she neared it. However, this time the door opened up to reveal a larger room her eyes widened as she saw a group of Eldar rangers. Lansaya knew these rangers as her old squad who all died on Kronus.

Dalrys, the youngest of the group. She remembered him dying during the first battle with the Blood Ravens, shot dead by a scout marine. Lilara the oldest member of the squad, she was cut in two by a Necron flayer. Messya she was the best shot on the squad, she was killed by a swarm of chaos cultist. By Isha they broke her soulstone, Lanasya could hear her screams as her soul was thrown into the warp into the hands of She Who Thirsts.

She slowly stepped forward prompting her old squad to turn to face her, their faces in various stages of decay.

"Traitor!" Dalrys yelled raising his rifle however he did not fire.

"I am no traitor!" Lanasya called back but in her mind, she knew she could not go back to her craftworld.

"Then why have you not tried to contact our craftworld?!" Messya demanded. "Why have you not killed that mon-keigh when you had the chance?!"

"I-I can't we have a bond." Lanasya defended getting quiet.

"A bond with a mon-keigh, and you let the bond grow stronger." Lilara growled. "Kill him while the bond is still weak and return your people."

"I… I can't…" Even now she longed to be by Wolfgang's side. How could she kill him when every moment she spent away from him felt like an eternity in darkness. "No, I won't do it."

"""Then you are a Traitor.""" They all said simultaneously raising their weapons.

Having no weapon to defend herself, she brought up her hands in a sorry attempt to protect herself, knowing full well that her arms would do nothing to stop the rifle rounds. However, the sound a bolter fire echoed through the tomb. Seeing as nothing else happened in that time Lanasya lowered her hands to see the Black Dragons Chaplain standing over the bodies of her former team bolt pistol smoking.

The marine looked at her for a moment before he and the bodies of her old team began to fade. As soon as they were no longer in sight the door on the other side of the room began to open. Said door opening to reveal another long hallway. Sighing to herself She crossed the room she was in and made her way down the hallway.

Like before the hallway ended with another door that opened as she neared it. The room was larger than the last with a large pit in the middle with a single bridge connecting the two sides. Like before there where people in this room, humans to be specific. They wore flack armor, typical of an imperial guardsman. One of them did not have a helmet on, a female sergeant who came up to her.

"General!" She greeted her sounding relieved. "We have managed to push through the eldar lines, but we don't have the numbers to make a push further into their territory and the fields are full of mines."

Lanasya knew this must have been another trial but why would it have her in the position of a human general. She looked down at her clothes and sure enough they had changed to match that of an imperial general. She even had power claws on her arms as well as a bolt pistol on her hip.

"I know we have orders to push on but we will take heavy losses, and with the rest of the men pinned down at our lines we will not have reinforcements."

Lanasya stepped passed the sergeant and looked on at the "field". She did not know how but she knew where the minds were placed as if they were giving away their location to her. If this was another test, then she would have to help these guardsmen past this bridge… and to destroy the eldar forces that were in this area. She was beginning to see a pattern to these "Test", a pattern that would not win her loyalty so lightly.

Steeling herself she turned back towards the sergeant. "I shall deal with the mines, once a path is clear we will take the eldar position."

"Yeas general." The guardswoman replied sounding relieved that she would not have to order her men to charge over the active minefield. "We will wait for you signal to attack."

The former eldar ranger jogged over to the bridge, she could sense the mines before her. She did not have the skills to pull the mines out of the ground or disable them while leaving them in the ground. So she tried for a more destructive approach, while her control over her powers was next to nothing she had a feeling she could get them to work. She tried to call forth her powers imagining a powerful wave sweeping through the bridge.

Her powers began to stir, slowly but they were moving according to her will. Seeing a need for more power Lanasya pushed more of her energy into the wave. Soon a bluish aura began to take shape at her feet before it shot outward over the bridge setting off all the mines in the psychic waves path. Seeing the path was clear the guardsmen started to make their way over the bridge.

At the same time the door on the other side of the bridge opened letting out eldar guardians and a few banshees. The guardsmen aimed their lasguns and fired, Lanasya drew her bolt pistol and began to fire upon them. The banshees rushed her but for some reason it felt like they were moving slower than she remembered.

Her thunder claws shot out of her gauntlets as they neared her. She dispatched one of them easily before clashing with the second. The guardswoman was able to sab her chainsword into the banshee's torso allowing Lanasya to deal with the last banshee. While Lanasya was fighting the banshees, the other guardsmen traded shots with the eldar guardians, the guardsmen managed to kill two guardians while losing five of their own. All who were killed disappeared as their bodies hit the floor.

Lanasya joined the fight against the last three guardians getting into close range to deal with them. The fight did not last that long after Lanasya closed the distance. With the last eldar dispatched the rest of the guardsmen began to disappear. Looking down Lanasya saw her cloth had returned back to normal and her weapons were gone as well.

With the test now complete Lanasya started to walk down the door that let out the eldar warriors. Like before the door led her down a long hallway, however this time it was much longer and had a few turns before she came to another door. Her eyes widened when she saw who was waiting for her in the next room.

"Faenlyth." Lanasya said surprised, the last time she saw her was when she left with the warhost bond for Kronus.

But she was not wearing the clothes of the craftworld, instead she was now wearing the outfit of a dark eldar. A Djin Blade was hanging from her belt and a Splinter Pistol on her hip. She was about to question her mentor about her clothes when she spoke.

"You are to be commended for making it this far." Faenlyth replied evenly.

"Lady Faenlyth how did you get here? How did you slip past the humans protecting this planet?"

"Your confusion is natural the others will help you understand."

"Others?"

As soon as she said that, the sound of footsteps coming up behind her caused her to turn around.

"Get away from her!" Wolfgang demanded his white pistol raised at her mentor's head. "She is a dark eldar!"

"Wait Wolfgang something is not right here." Lanasya tried to get in his way but Faenlyth pulled her away with her psychic powers.

"I have had enough of your bondmate Lanasya." The dark eldar said ignoring Lanasya and drawing her power weapon.

"Both of you calm down!" Lanasya demanded.

"I will protect myself from this foul mouthed mon-keigh."

The sound of heavy footsteps came from the other door in the room, said door opened in walked Wolfgang's friend Shawn.

"Hey, what's all the commotion about?" Shawn asked looking between.

"Away from her demon! This is a personal dispute between this mon-keigh and myself!"

"You threaten my friend with a power weapon, and I'm supposed to just stay out of it? I think not!" Shawn growls back putting his hand on his own power sword.

"Everyone, put away your weapons!" Lanasya demands.

Soon another pair of heavy footsteps start to echo through the tomb.

"Just kill the xeno, we don't have time for this." Omeal said walking into the room, Crozius alight and ready for battle.

"The three of you will challenge me? Then you sorely underestimate the powers that I wield." Faenlyth said looking at the two marines and Preserver that stood against here.

"You're not the first psyker that we have put down, and you won't be the last!" Wolfgang declared taking a step forward.

Faenlyth turned to Lanasya. "Your "friends" are all arrayed against me, will you stand for this?"

"I-I don't know." Lanasya said stepping back, her head was pounding like it was being pulled in-between two ropes.

"So, you will do nothing. Apathy is Death. Worse than death, because at least a rotting corpse feeds the beasts and insects."

"Apathy is Death." Wolfgang spoke.

"Apathy is Death." Shawn repeated.

"Apathy is Death." Omeal repeated.

They all turned to face her their weapons pointing at her. However, they exploded into a ball of electricity that shot toward Lanasya. She tried her best to raise some kind of barrier to protect herself but she could not. She cried out in pain as her she felt her soul being pulled apart, all the while her soul resisted.

What felt like an eternity only lasted a few seconds as the attack suddenly cut off, causing her to fall to the floor. Her vision went in and out, but she could make out the movement of something pink. But it did not stay for long as it dashed down the hallway Shawn came down. Picking herself off the ground Lanasya began to limp down the same hallway that the pink blur ran down.

Luckily this hallway was much shorter than the others with a single turn before leading to a door. Like the others the door began to open with her approach. Unlike the other rooms of the tomb this room was completely different as she found herself on the command deck of a Craftworld Ulthwé. Bodies of craftworlders laid scattered throughout the command deck, some of them missing limbs or had a large hole in their torso.

Lanasya began to walk among the bodies, horrified at what she was seeing. Suddenly the command deck shook and the walls exploded and caught fire. Lanasya looked up to she a human space marine battle barge fly cross the roof windows. She noticed that the battle barge held the same color schemes as the Sons of Liberty, but why were they attacking Craftworld Ulthwé?

"Because we are attacking Reach." A very familiar voice said as if reading her mind. "But it will be renamed to something more fitting of a maiden world when it is taken."

Lanasya turned to look at the voice to see a Ulthwé farseer sitting on the command throne. Her hand was resting against her helmet with a Singing Spear in her other hand. She was looking over the space battle unfolding before her. The ship shook again as the Craftworld was hit by another round from the main gun of one of the two biggest warships on Reach's defense feet.

However, Lanasya knew that Ulthwé was caught in the Eye of Terror, how could it be fighting at Reach when it was stuck.

"Unlike you I used the technology onboard that mon-keigh's vessels to help MY craftworld escape the Eye." The farseer answered but what did she mean by unlike you? "When we escaped we gave Reach's location to other craftworlds so that they would join us in an assault upon this mon-keigh world. Though the losses are great we will have this world for our people."

Lanasya looked at the farseer and slowly backed away, she didn't want to believe it, but she had a feeling of who this farseer was.

As if sensing her realization, the farseer began to undo the locks on her helmet. When she finished undoing the locks and began to pull it off, blood red hair fell and soon blue eyes lock with blue eyes.

"I am who you should have been." Farseer Lanasya said standing from her throne. "I am the one that killed that worthless mon-keigh when I was given the chance. I am leading my people to a bright future." Her face became hard. "And you, will be bending over for a mon-keigh."

"How could this be?" Lanasya through as she slowly back away from her farseer self.

The craftworld shook again as more space marine warships concentrated their fire upon the burning craftworld. The Four gargantuan space station protecting Reach opening fire upon the Craftworld as soon as it came into range.

"I will destroy you, the thought of you existing anywhere sickens me!" Farseer Lanasya declared as she brought up her hand Warp Lightning sparking from her fingertips.

Seeing the attack coming Lanasya dived behind cover just as her counterpart shot the Warp Lightning at her. Said lightning went flying over her head and distorting the wall in front of her. As she moved to avoid the debris falling towards her she noticed shuriken pistol at her feet. Picking up the weapon she peered over her cover and fired at own her counterpart.

She dodged the incoming fire and shot back more Warp Lightning at her. Lanasya moved back down into cover and began to move along the console she was behind. She knew she was not going to beat her counterpart in a head on engagement, so she needed to beat in using tactics. She picked up a grenade, hoping to use it to distract her counterpart while she moved to a better position.

The command deck shook again and expositions causing the roof of the command deck to fall a little and the windows to crack. With the combined firepower from the four space stations hammering away at the craftworld it would not be long until the ship would begin to break under its own weight.

Just as she was about to throw the grenade at her, she found herself being lifted into the air. Her counterpart was using her power to lift her into the air. She aimed her pistol at her only to have it ripped out of her hands.

"Did you really think you could defeat me? You are nothing compared to my power."

The ship shook again, and the cracks in the windows got even larger. Seeing it as her only option Lanasya threw the grenade at the window causing the window to burst and vent out the atmosphere in the command deck.

Both eldar were thrown upwards towards the breach. Farseer Lanasya using her powers to pull herself towards a piece of wrathbone that was still attached to the ship. Lanasya on the other hand was caught in between a support beam. As luck would have it the pistol, she had lost, came flying towards her allowing her to grab it and point it at her counterpart.

"Yet it would seem fate it on my side." She said before firing the pistol, the round hitting its mark in her counterpart's head.

Her counterpart's body was soon flung into the cold void of space. Not long after her counterpart's death the ship around her began to change back to the tomb she was in. This room unlike the others in the center of the room was a stone coffin with writing all over it. She did not get the chance to inspect it before she found herself pulled out of the tomb and back into the Soulseer chambers and standing before the five Soulseers present.

"Congratulations are in order." The helmeted Soulseer said. "You have completed the trial. Not many can claim to such a task. We have witnessed the tests that the tomb put upon you and Soulseer Bout has chosen to teach you the ways of a Soulseer."

The male eldar nodded to her indicating that his name was Bout. "It has been a long time since I took on an aspirant but I will show you the ways to become a Soulseer. However, you should know that I am not one to baby my aspirants. We will sometimes train until you drop, and sometimes further. Knowing this are you still willing to train as a Soulseer?"

Her reply was quick. "I did not go through that trial to back out now."

Four years later

It was time. Time for Wolfgang and his three other crew members to another run into the galaxy. With Omeal, Shawn, and Norla going over the supplies for their run Wolfgang was taking care of other matters.

Wolfgang sat up in his bed, naked as the day he was born. Another figure moved on his bed, awakened by Wolfgang's movements. He looked back at his bondmate, her beautiful red hair and flawless skin made his hearts race. It had been the first time since she left to become a Soulseer that he had seen her in person.

The recently promoted grade 3 preserver stood and made his way to his wardrobe to dress himself. Halfway through his dressing process, Lanasya got up as well.

"Is it time for you to leave already?" She asked sleepy.

"Yes, I should be back in a month or so." Wolfgang replied putting on his boots.

The Soulseer in training got up from his bed, using the bed's sheets to cover herself. She moved over to the Preserver and hugged him from behind. Almost all trace of her hate for him had vanished in the four years they spent apart.

"Make it two weeks." She said cooing into his ear.

Wolfgang felt the tug on there bond, it was not an order just a strong request.

"As you wish." Wolfgang said putting on his shirt after Lanasya released him.

The holoprojector activated, Rosa appearing on it moments later. "Wolfgang, Omeal asked when you were going to show yourself?"

"Tell him I'm on my way." Wolfgang replied walking towards the door.

"I shall see you off once I am dressed." Lanasya said dropping the sheet and letting her bondmate get an eye full. "Remember two weeks."

He nodded before turning and making his way towards the hanger. When he arrived, he found Shawn loading the last of the supplies with Norla walking her new knight into the dropship's mech bay. Omeal was most likely on the bridge making last second checks on key systems. This would be their first run together, their first test to see if those four years of simulation training was worth anything.

As Wolfgang boarded the dropship, he turned to see Lanasya standing at the entrance watching him. With a final nod he turned and entered his dropship and made his way to the bridge. The rest of his crew was waiting for him as he entered the bridge. Taking his seat he turned his head to Rosa.

"Take us out."

She nodded before the sound of the engines powering up echoed through the ship. Moments later the ship lifted off the ground and began its climb into the sky. On to there next Preservers OP.

"Hey guys Slim Prime with the outro here! I would like to thank you all for reading this story and taking the time to get to know Wolfgang Rose and some of his crew members. Now while this is the end of the main story, there are still the chapters where he meets his other crew members. NOW keep in mind that these stories are technically not on the writing rotation, meaning they most likely will not be out for some time."

Special thanks to my Crew: ZoDiAcKiLlEr315 and Rogue-eL

God bless and thanks again for reading this story.
