14 Weeks Pregnant
Peaches
Colby smiled when he caught a glimpse of Scottie out of the corner of his eye. Her face turned towards the window and the sunshine. Her hands cradling the small bump that was becoming more pronounced as the weeks went by. Colby waved to the fans they passed pulling into the parking lot. Scottie read her text messages while Colby got all his bags.
"Renee and Jon are in catering." Scottie announced.
"Ok. Let me put my bags away first."
When the two women say each other the immediately embraced. "How are you feeling?" Renee asked
"Great. How are you? You look great." They rubbed each other's bellies. "Oh my. Was that the baby?"
"Mmhm. Started a few days ago and hasn't stopped since."
Jon herded his wife towards a chair. "What do you want to eat?"
"I'm not really hungry."
"You should eat something."
"Just some fruit." Renee conceded.
"You should eat too. The last thing you ate was the omelet at breakfast." Colby told Scottie before following Jon over to the food.
"I'm torn between loving being waited on hand and foot. And wanting to punch him for hoovering." Scottie said.
"I know the feeling. 'Renee you need to eat.' 'Renee put your feet up.' 'Renee stop eating all that junk food.'." Renee mocked Jon's voice. "Are we horrible for complaining about two gorgeous men being our personal slaves?"
"We're pregnant. We can be irrational. We'll blame it on the hormones." The girls started to laugh.
"Do you think they're laughing at us?" Colby asked Jon across the room.
"Definitely."
Scottie eyes the plate Colby placed in front of her. "No pickles?"
"You said pickles make you sick."
"That was last week. Now I could really go for a crunchy pickle."
"I'll go see what they got."
"We love you." Scottie said to his back. "We're back to loving it." Scottie told Renee.
"Loving what?" Jon asked.
The girls reply was in unison "Nothing."
Colby brought over a plate of pickles. Happily munching, Scottie addressed the other couple. "I am dying to know if I will be an auntie to a mini-Jon or a mini-Renee."
"I hope his not like me." Jon muttered.
"He? It's a boy?"
Renee nodded. "We're having a boy." Renee showed them the ultrasound picture.
"You can tell right away." Jon boosted.
"I don't see it." Scottie said.
"What? How can you miss it?"
"For the last time. That is his arm not his wee-wee." Renee explained with an eyeroll.
Jon grimaced. "Don't call it a wee-wee."
"This is so exciting. Have you guys discussed names?"
"A few but nothing has been decided."
"You don't want to name him Jon Jr?"
"And have people call him JJ?" Colby asked.
"No. We want him to have his own name." Jon said.
"When do you go for your ultrasound?"
"In a few weeks. The babies have been in a weird position. Always curled around each other."
"This little one." Renee affectionately patted her belly. "Gave us all kinds of trouble. Had his legs crossed. I had to lay on my side and have Jon talk to him." Renee sighed. "I'm taking it as a sign of things to come."
"I believe he gets his stubbornness from both his parents."
"Wait until it's your turn."
"Mr. Lopez, Mr. Good? I'm sorry to interrupt by Mr. McMahon would like to speak with both of you." A production assistant stood by their table.
"Ok. Thanks." Colby said. He looked over at Scottie. "Are you going to stay here?"
"Until I finish my pickles. Go." Scottie waved him on. "I'll be fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yup. Go see Vince." Scottie pushed him towards the door. "I'm back to hating it." Scottie said after both men reluctantly left. "If this keeps up, Colby won't make it to the end of this pregnancy."
"Neither will Jon. Let's kick them out and live together until we have these three."
"Who would bring us food at 3am?"
"Grubhub."
"That plan should great, but we forgot one thing."
"What?"
"Sex. I love having sex with my man."
"I said we were kicking them out. Not that they couldn't visit." The two ladies laughed. Renee's phone beeped with a message. "I got to run. I'll see you later."
"Bye." Scottie visited her pickles and French dressing. Glancing at her phone, she went to stand up. Once on her feet, the room slightly swayed. Scottie shook her head to clear her vision.
"Scotlyn?" Scottie turned her head. Tom Budgen AKA Aleister Black stood by her side. "Are you ok?"
"Mmhm. Just a little dizzy. It's normal." She said gesturing to her belly. "I think I just need to lay down."
"Ok. I'll walk you to the locker room."
"Oh, you don't have too."
"I insist. You look really pale." The headache behind her eyes made her agree.
"Thank you." Tom's arm hoovered behind her back. Which turned out to be good thing when a few steps down the hallway, her vision turned black and Scottie collapsed into Tom's arms.
"Hey!" Tom yelled to one of the crew hanging around. "Get Colby and tell him Scottie passed out and I took her to the medic." Tom scooped up Scottie and rushed off.
Scottie mumbled incoherently. "Colby?"
"No, it's Tom. You fainted."
"Oh goodness." Scottie flushed pink under the paleness of her cheeks. "I'm sorry."
"I'm not. I'm glad I was there to catch you." He gently sat her on the table in the medic's office. "She fainted." He told the medic.
"Any health issues?" The medic asked starting his assessment.
"I'm 14 weeks pregnant with twins. So far it's been a normal pregnancy."
"Any other symptoms?"
"Before I passed out, I was dizzy and had a headache."
Before the medic could continue the door burst open. "Scottie!" Colby yelled rushing to her side.
"I'm fine. We're fine."
"You're clearly not fine. Your pregnant and you passed out." Colby turned to Tom. "Thank you for being there to catch her and bring her here."
"No problem. Feel better." Tom directed at Scottie.
"What's wrong with her?" Colby demanded of the medic.
"Colby. He just started." Scottie slipped her hand into his.
"Your blood pressure if elevated which would explain the dizzy and headache."
"What? When were you dizzy?"
"When I stood up, I got dizzy. My pregnancy book says it's normal."
"Is she ok? The babies?"
"I would follow up with your OB/GYN as soon as possible. For right now, I would stay off your feet and rest and relax. If you have any more bouts of dizziness or it gets worse, you need to go the Emergency department straight away."
"We will. Thank you." Scottie started to stand up. "Where are you going?"
"Back to the locker room." Scottie said.
"Shouldn't you lay here?"
"No. I want to lay in the locker room where I'm more comfortable."
"Maybe we should go home? I'll call Vince."
"The show hasn't even started yet. We can't leave."
"Vince will understand."
"Colby." Scottie took his face in her hands. "I'm ok. The babies are ok. I'll call my doctor and make the first appointment available. But I don't want to do that here with everyone coming and going."
Colby sighed before nodding. "Ok." He kissed the inside of her wrist before backing away. He slipped an arm around her back and under her legs.
"Whoa. What are you doing?"
"Taking you to the locker room."
"I can walk."
"You were also told to stay off your feet."
Scottie knew he was worried and decided to drop the argument and let him carry her out of the medic's office. She was embarrassed as they passed several people in the hallway. Colby made sure Scottie was comfortable before the start of the show. Renee joined her after hearing about what happened. The girls watched Jon's match together. Scottie was happy to see Jon win the Intercontinental Title after everything that he's been through. Once the show was over and the guys were cleaned up and changed, they headed out to their cars.
"We should celebrate."
"Yes! With ice cream." Renee said.
"Ice cream sounds fantastic." Scottie agreed. Giving what she hoped was 'puppy dog' eyes to Colby. "Can we please go get ice cream?"
"You should be resting."
"I will be. Resting in a booth while eating ice cream."
Colby reluctantly agreed. Finding an ice cream shop open at that time of night was a challenge but they stumbled across Cream San Jose. Renee and Scottie browsed the flavor list. Renee selected a sundae with Cup of Joe, Pink Peach Bellini, and Green Tea ice cream with gummy bears and caramel sauce. Scottie decided on a sundae with Cin-Ful Churro, Blueberry Cheesecake, and Cookies and Cream ice cream with hot fudge and M&Ms.
"That looks disgusting." Colby muttered lowly to Jon. Ordering a plain vanilla for himself.
"What?" Scottie asked Renee who began to laugh.
"Just thinking of how much things have changed."
"You're just realizing that now? You're about 19 weeks too late."
"If this was a few months ago we would all be at a bar. Now we're eating ice cream."
"Delicious ice cream."
Renee looked at her husband. "Do you miss going to a bar to celebrate?"
"Doesn't matter where I'm celebrating. As long as I'm celebrating with you."
"Aww." Renee and Scottie swooned.
"I think he hit his head too hard during his match." Colby joked.
With her ice cream finished Scottie leaned heavier on Colby's shoulder. He pressed a kiss to her forehead. The sugar rush was fading to sleepiness. Scottie cupped her belly. Colby's hand coming up to cover hers as he continued to tease Jon. She rolled her eyes as they squabbled like little boys. Goodness help her and Renee if one or both of her children turned out to be boys.

Fifteen Weeks Pregnant
Navel Oranges
Scottie had no more symptoms leading up to her appointment with Dr. Maxwell. Colby held her hand as they waited for the doctor. Her blood had been drawn, urine sample given, and vitals taken. Scottie' leg bounced a nervous rhythm. "Hello Scottie, Colby." Dr. Maxwell greeted, entering the room. "How are you today?"
"Ok. A little nauseous but I think that's the nerves."
"While we wait for the results. Tell me what happened?"
"I was at the arena eating and when I went to get up. I got dizzy and fainted. I came too quickly and was taken to the medic. He said my blood pressure was elevated and suggested a visit."
"And how have you been feeling since then?"
"Tired and swollen but I figured that was normal carrying two babies."
"How swollen? Can I see your hands?" Dr. Maxwell pressed against Scottie's skin before moving to her ankles.
"Is something wrong?" Colby asked.
"Let me check on the lab results. I'll be right back." Dr. Maxwell excused herself from the room. Scottie's grip tightened.
"What if something is wrong with the babies?"
"Everything is going to be ok." Colby promised. He pressed a gently kiss to her head.
"Take a deep breath." Dr. Maxwell instructed when she returned. "All of your test came back ok. Not great but ok. I want to monitor your blood pressure closely, but this could be nothing."
"But it could be something?"
"It's too early to tell. Let's not borrow trouble. We'll keep a closer eye on you."
"What can I do?"
"Relax and rest. You're doing everything already."
Over the next few days, Colby waited on her hand and foot. Rarely letting her leave the bed. Scottie finally got him to leave for a little bit to go to the gym. Scottie waited for a few minutes to make sure that Colby had really left before getting up. Her three shadows followed her downstairs. Scottie wondered into the kitchen when she got hungry. She stared blankly into the fridge for a few moments before moving on to the cabinets. Eyes catching on the box of brownie mix. Scottie checked to make sure she had all the ingredients before trying to find a bowl. Colby came around the corner into the kitchen and his heart almost stopped.
"Scottie! What are you doing on the counter?" Colby reached for her hips.
"Your home early." Scottie let him guide her to the floor.
"What were you doing?"
"Getting a bowl. Since someone put all the mixing bowls on the top shelf. Where I can't reach them."
"You're pregnant. You can climb on top of the counters. You're supposed to be resting."
"I'm well aware of how far along I am." Scottie smoothed a hand over her belly. "And I have been resting. So much so I'm going crazy." Scottie accepted the bowl from him.
Colby glanced at the box. "Are you making brownies again?"
"Don't judge." Scottie glared at him. "It's been a rough week and I would really like a glass of wine. But since I obviously can't." Scottie pointed to her belly. "I'm eating brownies and cuddling on the couch. Whether that's with you or the dogs is your choice."
"How about you go relax on the couch and watch an Office re-run while I make your brownies. Once they're finished, we can cuddle to your hearts content."
"You're so good to me." Scottie kissed his cheek. "Your children and I love you."
"I love you three too." Colby said, "Now go. Relax." Colby watched her lay on their sectional. Once the brownies were in the oven and the kitchen cleaned. Colby joined her. "What are you watching?"
"Alaskan Bush People." Scottie turned to Colby. "What would you say if I told you I wanted to move to the wilderness and live off the grid?"
"Laugh and then take you to get your head checked. You hate the outdoors and camping."
"I don't hate camping."
"Your idea of 'camping' is in an RV with electricity and running water."
"Am I out in the middle of nowhere? Still camping."
"Mmhm." Colby was saved from commenting further by the oven beeping. "Be right back."
"Yummy." Scottie said around a mouthful of brownie.
"I'm glad you like them."
"Colby."
"Yeah?"
"Do we have any ranch dressing?"

Nineteen Weeks Pregnant
Mangos
Scottie slipped into the Allstate Arena several hours before Raw was set to start. She smiled at varies superstars as she passed. Since her fainting incident she had been staying at home relaxing. Feeling a little cooped up, Scottie decided to drop by the arena since it was close by.
"Hey." Stephanie said seeing her. "Colby didn't tell me you were here. How are you feeling?"
"Like a slowly inflating balloon." Scottie joked. "Have you seen Colby? He doesn't know I'm here."
"I think I saw him by catering."
"Typical Colby. But it works out because I'm starving."
"I'll let you go eat. Make sure you stop by and say hello to my dad before you leave."
"I will." Scottie promised. Scottie stepped into the catering area looking for Colby's trademark messy bun he always sported.
"Scottie?" Scottie turned at Colby's voice. "What are you doing here? How did you get here? Are you ok? The babies? Maybe you should sit down."
"Maybe you should sit down." Scottie shook her head. "I'm fine. The babies are fine. I wanted to stop by and see everyone. And talk to Paul and Vince. I was going a little nuts in the house."
"Here. Come sit down." Colby lead her over to the table.
"Joe! How are you?" Scottie said spotting the large Samoan at the table. "How's the leg?"
"Doing great. How are you baby girl?"
"I'm doing great. The babies are growing. Making me look like a whale."
"You look beautiful."
"You're a flatterer." Scottie said. She glanced at the food tables. "Is there cheese over there?"
"I'm not sure what kind."
"I'll eat anything." Scottie said.
Colby hoped up to her some cheese. When he returned with a plate of her cheese, he saw Finn, Drew, and Corey with their hands on Scottie's bump. Colby knew it was irrational, but he couldn't help the jealousy that welled up inside of him. Scottie's pregnancy had only enhanced her natural beauty and awoken some primal urges inside of him. Scottie looked up, catching Colby's glare before he could conceal it.
"Hey babe. They're trying to get one of the babies to move."
"I can't feel anything." Drew said in his thick Scottish accent.
"I keep telling them it's a little too early."
"But you're huge."
"Thanks Fergal."
"Don't you guys have matches and a show to get ready for?" Colby barely held back a growl as he watched Corey lean down to talk to her belly. Scottie bit her lip at the look of rage on his face.
"He's right." Corey gave her a peck on the cheek. "It was good to see you."
"You too." Scottie could practically see the steam coming out of Colby's ears as she returned the kiss and hug.
The heavily tattooed man held on longer than necessary. "Ok. Let's go." Colby growled.
Colby gently helped Scottie to her feet. With a wave they were off. Scottie followed behind Colby nibbling on her cheese. Colby grew more annoyed with every person who stopped them. Asking how Scottie was doing and touching her bump that was their children. Scottie couldn't keep the giggles in any longer. Colby turned to face her.
"What are you laughing at?"
"You."
"Me?"
"Yes. You're cute when you're jealous."
"I wasn't jealous."
"You were growling at every person who's come near me. Most of who are married or more importantly, like family."
"You're going to call me stupid and a caveman."
"I would never call you stupid. And I already think you're a caveman."
"Your mine. Those babies that you're carrying are mine. And I know that is chauvinistic and you are your own person and can take care of yourself."
"I can." She agreed.
"But ever since you got pregnant, I've wanted to wrap you in bubble wrap. Even more so since you fainted."
"You are too cute." Scottie patted his cheek.
"Thanks." He said dryly. "You're not mad?"
"Not really. You have the same feelings I have whenever I see half-naked women throw themselves at you."
"I've never…" Scottie cut Colby off with a hand over his mouth.
"I know. Just like you know I would never. But jealous is irrational."
When they got to the locker room, they saw Jon glaring at his phone. "Everything ok?" Colby asked
"Yeah. Just fighting with Renee."
"What happened?" Colby asked. Scottie pulled out her cell phone.
"One of the setup crew almost ran her over with a cart and she got mad that I yelled at him."
"I'll be right back." Scottie announced.
"Where are you going?"
"Didn't we just talk about me being able to take care of myself?" Colby held up his hands in a 'you win' gesture. "Love you." Scottie headed to the women's locker room. "Hey." She joined Renee on the bench.
"Hey." Renee huffed; arms crossed over her belly. "Did Jon send you to find me?"
"Nope. We got to the locker room and Jon told us what happened. I texted Pam to see where you were and left."
"The crew guy was nowhere near me."
"Colby growled at Corey, Finn, and Drew for touching my belly."
"Boys." Scottie shook her head. "Let's just hang out in here until
An hour later, Pam stuck her head in. She grinned at them before holding it open allowing Joe stepped through with a smile. "Do you two know how much chaos you've caused backstage?"
"What did we do? We've been here resting."
"Neither of you have been answering your phone and your two men have been looking everywhere for you." He said.
"My phone died." Scottie said as Joe sat between them.
"I was mad at Jon."
"I know but take it from a man who's been through two pregnancies. It's different for guys."
"Yeah. You don't have to lug around the baby. Or babies in my case."
"Exactly. Women do all the heavy lifting in the pregnancy. Men have to channel our energy into something. When we get overprotective it's because there isn't much else that we can do. Out bodies don't change. We don't give birth. But we can make sure you eat ok. Rub your swollen ankles and hold your hand through every pain."
"How did you get so wise?"
"I'm the oldest. It's my job." Joe said.
There was another knock on the door. "Is Joe in there?" They heard Colby yell.
"Yeah. Hold on!" Joe yelled back. "Are you two coming out or staying here?"
"You're not going to rat us out"
"Nope. Another part of the big brother job."
"You're the best big brother ever."
"Maybe we should put them out of their misery." Renee said. Joe helped each of the girls up.
"There you are." Colby pulled Scottie into his arms. "Why didn't you answer the phone?"
"Sorry. I didn't realize it had died." Scottie titled her chin up for a kiss. "Forgive me?"
Colby pecked her lips. "Always. Just please make sure your phone is always charged and on. I'm too young for a heart attack."
"Promise." Scottie glanced over and Jon and Renee who were kissing and whispering to each other. She smiled up at Colby. "I love you."
"I love you too." Scottie was thankful the arena was so close to home. The moment she crossed the threshold she kicked off her shoes and sunk into the couch. "Are you ok?" Colby asked
"My feet are a little swollen from all the walking."
"Here." Colby patted his thigh. Scottie twisted around to face him with her legs extended.
"Oh, that feels wonderful." Scottie threw her head back. "Thank you."
"Anytime." Colby said, "When is our doctor's appointment?"
"Wednesday afternoon. I think around 1pm." Scottie reached for her phone. "Yup. 1 pm. Dr. Maxwell said we could probably see the gender this time."
"Do you want to find out?"
"Do you?"
"I'm fine either way."
"I kinda want to know."
"Then we'll find out." Colby decided.
"What do you think we're having?"
"Boys."
"Two boys? You want me to go grey early? I think it's two little girls."
"I don't think my heart is ready for two little girls who look just like you." Colby shook his head. "I know it's boys."
"I know it's girls. I'm their mother."
"Wanna bet?"
"What does the winner get?"
"How about loser has to change all poopy diapers for the first two weeks."
"All poopy diapers for both babies?"
"All poopy diapers." Colby held out his hand.
"I'm going to enjoy when I win." Scottie said shaking his hand.
"I'm going to enjoy when I win." Colby countered.
Wednesday afternoon Scottie sat on the exam table dressed in a paper gown. Colby by her side holding one of her hands. They were waiting for the doctor to come in. Scottie swung her legs back and forth. Dr. Maxwell entered a few short minutes later.
"Hello Scottie, Colby."
"Hey Dr. Maxwell."
"I see your 20 weeks pregnant as of yesterday. Let's look at those babies."
Scottie laid back, head towards the monitor. "Oh my. Look at them. They look like little people."
"Here's Baby A. They are a little over six and a half inches long. Estimating about 10.6 ounces." Dr. Maxwell said, noting the information in Scottie's chart. "Would you like to know the sex?"
"Yes." Colby and Scottie replied in unison.
"Baby A is a little boy."
"Yes! I knew it." Colby said. Pressing a gently kiss to Scottie's head. "Get ready to change all those poopy diapers."
"Don't count your chickens. Baby B has to be a boy for you to win." Scottie turned back to the doctor. "What about Baby B?"
Dr. Maxwell moved the ultrasound wand around. "Baby B is a little behind. Measuring around six and a quarter inches long and estimating around 10 ounces."
"Is that baby ok?"
"The baby looks fine. It's normal in fraternal twins for one twin to be larger. And Baby B is…" Dr. Maxwell studied the screen. "A little girl."
"It's a girl?" Scottie asked. She turned to Colby. "We're going to have a little boy and a little girl." Scottie laughed. "A little boy who is no doubt going to give me grey hair early."
"And a little girl who is going to have me wrapped around her little finger."
Dr. Maxwell printed out a few copies of each baby. "Ok. You can go ahead and sit up. We have a few things to discuss."
"Why do I feel like it's not good news."
"I reviewed your labs. We found high levels of protein in your urine."
"What does that mean?"
"You have a condition called pre-eclampsia."
"That sounds scary."
"I'm not going to lie to you. I can be. With your blood pressure being elevated, the swelling in your hands and feet."
"Ho do we treat it?" Colby asked.
Colby held Scottie's clammy hand as Dr. Maxwell laid out a treatment plan. Going over the severe symptoms, like seizures, to look out for. What warranted a trip to the hospital. What would cause Dr. Maxwell to take the babies early to possible save Scottie's life and the lives of their babies. Scottie's face grew ashen the more the doctor talked. Truthfully, she had zoned out after Dr. Maxwell said the words 'potential fatal'.
"Do you have questions? It's already if you don't right now. I know I threw a lot of information at you."
"I don't have any questions. Do you?" Scottie looked up when Colby directed his last question at her. She just shook her head.
"I'm going to keep a close eye on you. I want you back in the office bi-weekly for blood pressure checks and an ultrasound. I'm going to do everything I can to make sure you and these are healthy as possible."
Colby stood silently at Scottie side while she made the next appointment. The drive home lacked conversation. Only the low music from the radio filled the air. As they arrived home the dogs came to greet them. Sensing something was off, they followed Scottie and Colby up to the bedroom. Scottie ran a hand over Lola's fluffy fur. Kevin and Scarlett curled up on her lap.
"Are you hungry?"
"No."
"You sure? You only ate breakfast."
"That burrito filled me up." Scottie replied quietly.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Colby sat next to her hip.
"What's there to talk about? The babies aren't even here yet and I've already failed as a mother."
"What are you talking about? You haven't failed. This isn't your fault."
"I'm the one that's pregnant. It's my job to make sure these babies are healthy for 9 months while they live inside of me. And I couldn't even do that right."
"You didn't choose to make yourself sick."
"I should have been better. I should have relaxed more at the beginning of the pregnancy. All those chips that I ate, the amount of sodium I ingested. I will never forgive myself if something happens to our son and daughter."
Colby hands cupped her face. "I need you to listen to me." He made sure her teary eyes met his. "You did not make yourself sick. Sometimes these things happen, and it sucks. But we caught it. And from this moment forward, we are going to do everything we have to, to make sure that in a few months, we take home two beautiful little babies. I promise everything is going to be ok."
"You can't promise me that." Scottie said, a tear slipped out.
"I just did." Colby said, "Now, I want to you get under the cover and take a nap. I'll get dinner started in a bit." Scottie nodded. Moving under the covers and curling up on her side. "I'll be downstairs if you need me." Colby headed out to his home gym. After going through a vigorous workout, he sat in a chair on the deck and called his mother.
"Hey Colby. How did the appointment go?"
"Uh, not great."
"Is Scottie and the babies ok?"
"Sort of. Dr. Maxwell diagnosed Scottie with pre-eclampsia."
"Oh my."
"The doctor is telling us all of these symptoms to watch for and what could happen and that I could lose all three of them. Scottie's freaking out, she thinks it's all her fault. And I'm trying to remain calm, but I'm scared. I can't lose them, any of them."
"Colby, you need to take a deep breath. The doctor wouldn't let Scottie go home if she thought Scottie or the babies were in any immediate danger."
Colby nodded. "I thought my biggest problem was going to figuring out how to take care a little girl. Scottie says our son is going to turn her hair grey."
"You're having a boy and a girl?"
"Crap. I don't think I was supposed to let that slip."
"My lips are sealed. Oh, that's so exciting."
Colby turned his head as the sliding glass door opened. "Hang on, mom." He turned to Scottie. "Enjoy your nap?"
"I did." Scottie curled up on his lap. "Babies got hungry." Scottie leaned closer to the phone. "Hi mom."
Colby turned the speaker on. "Hi Scottie. How are you feeling? Colby told me about the appointment."
"I'm doing ok. Letting everything that the doctor said sink in. Did Colby tell you we found out the genders?"
"I accidentally let it slip." Colby said apologetically.
"I can't believe you're having a mini-Colby and a mini-you. You two are going to be in some trouble when they get older." Holly joked, "Especially with Colby's stubbornness."
"Excuse me? I believe our children gets stubbornness from both sides." Colby defended himself.
Scottie shivered as a breeze blew through. "Let's get you inside." Colby nudged Scottie up.
"I'll let you two go eat."
As they climbed into bed that night, Scottie pulled out a thick book. "What is that?"
Scottie pulled out four highlighters. One in pink, blue, green, and purple. "We have to start thinking of baby names."
"And the markers?"
Scottie held up the pink and blue ones. "For the names we absolutely love." She held up the green and purple ones. "For the names that are ok but not great. Do you want to start with boy names or girl names?"
"Boys." Colby settled next to her spreading his hand over her stomach. Colby moved the book between them. Eyes scanning the page. "What about Archer."
"No."
"Why not? That's a cool name."
"No, it's not." Scottie crossed it off. "And I get final say."
"Why do you get the final say? These are my babies too."
"Yes, but you're not the one carrying them. It's my body getting blown up like a balloon. My swollen ankles and aching back. And it's all your fault."
"Ok. Archer is out." Colby was confused when Scottie burst into tears. "Whoa. What's wrong? I promise we won't name the baby Archer."
"I'm sorry I'm such a bitch."
"You're not."
"Yes I am. They're your babies too."
"We'll name them together." Colby cuddled her to his side. "We won't mark it unless we both love it."
Scottie sniffled. "Colby?"
"Yeah babe?"
"Could you go downstairs and get me some pickles with ranch dressing?" Colby leaned over to kiss her head, hoping she couldn't see his smile.
