(Jack pov)
My heart is pounding so hard that I almost couldn't breath through my panic. There lay Ashley, with a shard of glass stuck in her eye. Blood was pouring out of her eye and I just sat there not able to do anything.
"Shit!" I curse as I hear the others run over to me, but I ignore them as I gather Ashley into my arms. She made a few disgruntled noises at being moved, but otherwise stayed out like a light. Turning to face my hired help with a bloodied and battered 17 year old in my arms.
"We gotta get back to my office. Call up Gladstone and have him be ready to take care of this shit." I say trying to keep calm in the situation, and I see them all nod in confirmation. Turning around I make my way over to the elevator, trying not to jostle the kid anymore than necessary.
The elevator ride seemed like it took ages, and I almost lost it right there had it not been for Nisha. I guess she saw me getting all worked over this and tried in her own way to make me feel better. But all she honestly did was place her hand on my arm and gave me a look that just said everything I needed to hear.
Letting out a frustrated sigh I look down at the girl in my arms. But instead of seeing her I saw a limp grown up Angel instead. Her skin was pale and her veins had a purple tint, that seemed to come from a collar strapped around her neck.
But before I could react it turned back into Ashley and the elevator doors opened.
"Hold it right there!"
Hearing a gun cocking joined by that voice I was greeted with guns in my face once again. It was a small platoon of DAHL soldiers with their rifles aimed at each of us.
I growl in the back of my throat. Can't these bastards see that Ash is hurt?!
"Get the hell out of my way, or I swear I will eviscerate you." I say lowly in a threatening manner clutching my cargo closer. But before anyone could act the men opened fire. Tucking Ashley into my chest I brace for the stabbing pain of incoming bullets, but nothing came.
Opening my eyes I see Athena in front of all of us with her shield protecting us. She doesn't even give the men time to recover before she rams her shield into them. Following her actions Aurelia sends her diadem to immobilize each of the men.
Breaking from my stupor I run out of the elevator into the hub of Heroism with the others. And to my utter disappointment I find the hub crawling with these DAHL idiots.
"Oh god I do not have time for this shit... Cover me!" I yell as I run for the door leading to my office. As I charged through the fray I was shielded by each of the vault hunters. From a literal sword and shield to Nisha pulling anyone who got too close away from me and Ash.
A few close calls later we made it inside, and walking down the hall to my office. Before we entered the room I felt Ashley stirring and I look down at her. Her left eye is barely cracked open was darting around all her surroundings. Finally her eye lands on me and she seems to calm down if only slightly.
"Hey there killer." I say as gently as I can. "We're almost there. Gladstone's gonna patch you up and you'll be up and kicking ass in no time." I joke with her and she gives me a small smile. But its quickly wiped away with a grimace of pain as we enter my office.
"Jack... It hurts so much..." She weakly coughs out and my heart hurts at the sound of her voice. I've never heard her sound so... weak. Before I can dwell on these thoughts too much though I am told by Gladstone to lay her out on my desk. Backing away I am stopped by a hand on my sleeve. Looking down I see her with a scared look in her eye, and within seconds I am by her side.
Gladstone gives her eye a look and gives a shaky sigh. "I gotta put her under, to get the um glass out." He tells me and I just nod quickly. Making room for him to inject a sedative in her I wait with bated breath for her to fall asleep, before I lost it completely in front of her.
When her eye slipped shut and her breath evened out I stepped back exhaling heavily.
"Gladstone, take care of her. The rest of you come on. We got a score to settle." I say turning and walking out of the room, not even looking back to see if they followed me.
'Those bastards are gonna pay for everything.' I think vehemently as I approach the fast travel.

(Ashley pov)
It took me a few days to recover from ecerything that had happened. Turns out having a piece of glass in your eye can fuck you up in unforeseeable ways. But its cool I was able to get an Echo eye as a replacement.
After I was able to get up on my own I was informed of the events that happened after the whole glass eye thing. When I asked about the others whereabouts, I wasn't given an answer. Just given a note from Jack telling me to stay put, and he would be back soon.
It was hard for me to do that after the whole Moxxi trying to kill us, but I had no other choice. Deciding on something I could do however I went looking for Rhys.
I found him and his two friends Vaughn and Yvette with the rest of the Helios survivors.
But Rhys didn't escape from that grenade unscathed. He lost his right arm entirely and had a cybernetic one in its place. I made a joke about the two of us both getting upgrades and the four of us shared a good laugh about it. Satisfied that they were okay I made my way over to Tassiter's office upon his request.
He didn't really tell me what it was about, but I couldn't refuse the guy that was above both me and Jack.
So with that I let myself into his office only to be greeted by the person I didn't expect to see. His face covered in a mask and a shit eating grin.
"Hey there kiddo! Did ya miss me? Damn have I got the war story of the century to tell you. But first we have a lot of work to do."
AN~Woooo!! Its done finally I am actually pretty happy with this. I look forward to what you guys think of this story and its ending.
