Chapter 20

Kagome's POV

Kaede and I walked our way back inside the house to see Inuyasha and his parents waiting for us.

Inutashio stood up, "I believe we need to discuss a few things." Kaede just nodded and we followed to the couch. "I think it would be best to add our allies to this fight, they can feel something evil rising nearby and we might as well shed some light on this situation. Also, I was wondering if Inuyasha can mark Kagome but leave the mating part unfinished until she is of age? That way they will be linked and it will be that much harder for the bastard to take or harm her."

Kaede was in deep thought, "Marking her will be acceptable as long as she holds love for me and it is true." They all turned to me but my eyes were only on Inuyasha looking at me with hope in his eyes. I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks being called at like this.

"Honey, we are waiting for you to answer whether you love my son or not?" Inuyasha's mother asked me, which made me realize I did not know her name.

"Um..." I knew I loved him without a shadow of doubt but I was not ready to express these feelings out loud yet. I was still hurt about what happened between him and Kikyo. I noticed Inuyasha had gotten up and kneeled down in front of me, grabbing my hands to hold him.

"I know you are hesitant to answer and that is okay, I know you love me just as much as I love you." I looked at him shocked, "and I also know you are still hurting and I can promise you that will never happen again, you are my true mate and nothing can ever get between us again not even Kikyo, I swear. I love you Kagome, you have all of my heart."

I looked at him as he erased all my doubts, "I love you too Inuyasha." He lifted me up into an embrace, holding me tight.

Inutashio clapped his hands, "Then that settles it, we will invite all our allies to witness the marking ceremony tonight."

"Ceremony, like a wedding?" My head started to spin, I was only seventeen how could I be getting married.

Inuyasha looked at me concerned, "Not exactly but think of it as an engagement party. Are you sure you want to do this, demons take mating very seriously there is no divorce, so you will be stuck with me?"

"I do but I think I need to understand this marking and mating thing before we go through with it. I like knowledge and I know nothing, that is what is scaring me."

He nodded then lead me to his room and sat both of us in the center looking at each other.

"Technically the mating process can be done two different ways. One way is marking and mating at the same time completing the process altogether, the other way is what we are doing except I will be marking you twice. The first time I mark you it will just be me making claim to you telling others that you are mine. Other demons and those with holy powers will be the only ones to notice it, humans will think it is a cool tattoo. Now, when we mate it will be permanent and unbreakable but the marking I will do will only last a year thus putting a wrench in Naraku's plan, he will have to wait. I will also be able to feel your feelings and know when you are in trouble. When we complete the mating we will be in sync, knowing exactly how each other feels plus being able to talk to each other without saying a word, it is kinda cool. Plus there are other advantages but we will wait for that."

I absorbed in all of this information, "You really are a dog demon uh, marking me like I'm territory or something."

He huffed, "Really woman you got that from all that." Then he smirked and next thing I knew he was on top of me.

"Let me make myself very clear...you are mine," I could feel him as his nose slowly slide down to my neck then I felt a prick. "and I cannot wait to mark you and show to everyone that you are mine, especially that wolf Kouga." He growled and I gulped.

"Wolf?" I was confused.

"Yes, he is a wolf demon." He confessed.

"Oh, anyone else I should know about?"

"Quite a few actually but plenty of time for that later, right now I am focused on the woman laying underneath me." Without another second, his lips claimed mine in a heated passion before he pulled back slightly, "To hear you say that you love me out loud made me want to take you right there in front of everyone. It took everything I had to keep my demon at bay, woman, I can barely control myself around you."

I gulped again, "How are we supposed to keep our hands to ourselves before I turn eighteen?"

He smirked at me again, "There are other ways of pleasuring ourselves my love, should I should you right now?" He wiggled his eyebrows at me.

I playfully smacked him across his chest, "You sound like Miroku and are you forgetting your parents are downstairs?"

"So?"

With this distraction, I flipped him over so I staddled him then slowly grinding on his erection and whispered in his ear, "but maybe later after the ceremony you can."

"Woman, are you teasing me?"

"I have no idea what you are talking about, my love." i smiled sweetly at him then booked it out of there before he could catch me knowing full well he wouldn't come downstairs with a huge tent in his pants. I could hear him yell at me about getting me back but kept going.

I was met by his mother at the end of the stairs, "Where is Inuyasha?"

I looked back up then at her, "He is indisposed at the moment." We could hear a growl coming from upstairs then his mother laughed.

"Be careful not to get burned when you play with fire. I learned that the hard way when Inutashio started to court me. Come dear with have much to discuss, I want to get to know my future daughter in law." She led me to a lounge area in the house and I told her my life story while we sipped on tea.

Inuyasha POV

There I was in a cold shower trying to get my mind off how Kagome seduced me and my damn demon kept bringing the images across my mind so my hard one was still that...hard.

Will you knock it off, I growled at him then slowly calmed my nerves down. "Seems I have a little minx on my hands." I laughed then thought about how lucky I am to have Kagome as my true mate. I got out of the shower then headed downstairs to find my little minx of a mate only to found my mother and her in an embrace both crying. My father came up behind me, "Word of advice son, stay clear of them until they are down." I chuckled, "Is the great Lord Inutashio scared of two crying women?"

"You know what on second thought, you should go but remember I warned you." He watched me make my way to Kagome.

They pulled apart then my mother turned to glare at me, "You!"

I stopped and held out my hands defensively in front of me, "What did I do?" I looked past her up to my father and he just chuckled and walked away saying "I told you so pup."

"You hurt this sweet innocent girl after everything she has been though, shame on you!"

"Mom I did not know she was my mate and even so I have apologized to her a thousand times and continue to do so until it is forgotten."

"You better son or you will regret it." She got up and left thus turning my attention to my mate that skewed me like a pig in a fire pit.

"Do not give me that look, mister, your mom wanted to know more about me and before I knew i was spilling my guts out to her, I am not even sure how it happened."

I chuckled, "Yeah, she has a way of doing that. So bonding with my mom uh?"

"Yeah is that a problem?" She crossed her arms over her chest.

"No, just not used to it I guess." I sat down next to her.

"Why is that?" She looked puzzled, "You did date other girls not to mention the one who shall not be named."

I rolled my eyes, "Yes well my mother hated, no despised that one that shall not be named and refused to be in the same room as her. Something about the darkness within her."

Then Kagome tensed up, "Babe are you okay?"

"Darkness within her? Is she someone with powers?"

"No babe, I was with her for years I would have sensed something."

I noticed she was playing with her fingers and her head down, "I think...no I think she has powers...I forgot to tell you because of everything that has happened since the party?"

Relation popping into my mind remembering the demonic aura smell that came off her and I started to panic, "Kagome what did she do?" I could feel everyone behind and figured my dad picked up on our conversation.

"I went to the bathroom and when I came out I noticed a door open so I peeked in and realized it was her room. I was about to leave but then I saw a photo of you two, you both looked so happy it hurt. Before I knew what was happening she was there threatening me again but I brushed it off until she threw out spikes from her hands towards me. They would have hit me if it was not from my power coming up to protect me. I stunned her and she said it would be fun to watch me since I did not know what I was. I passed out but I could have sworn I heard a man's voice before I did."

"Was it Naraku?" I asked but she shooked her head, "No he was sweet and seemed to really care about my well being."

I turned to look at my parents, "How could we have not known that Kikyo was a dark Miko?"

My father looked puzzled, "I am not sure son but I am starting to wonder if she is the reason you did not know Kagome was your mate."

I swear my eyes about bulged out of my head as I squeezed my hands into fists. "That bitch." I sensed Kagome behind me than placing a gentle hand on my shoulder.

"If she is indeed blocking it, then it must be a spell."

We all turned to look at Kaede.

"Will it affect the mating?" I looked at Kagome and realized I had not told her exactly about mates and true mates.

"No dear it will not because anyone can choose to mate whom they want to since demons rarely find their true mate."

"Oh, she was hoping you would mate her and she did the spell just for protection that she could keep you."

"Well, she underestimated my demon." I huffed.

"Wait she knew!" The thought hit me like a freight train as everyone else finally caught on. "Why would she cast a spell from keeping you from finding your true mate if she did not know you were half-demon?"

"I think we need to be more careful with Kikyo from now on and I think after the ceremony you need to have a talk with your closest friends." My father said then walked away.

My mother and Kaede walked up to Kagome, "Come dear we have to get you ready." Kagome glanced at me to help her but I shook my head no as I smirked, and mouth "payback baby" she huffed and followed the other women up the stairs.

It has been a hot minute since I have updated and I am sorry.

I have updated all the chapters fixing little things here and there but nothing in the storyline has changed.

I will try to update once a month only because I have 3 other stories that need my attention as well.
