Episode 21: The Final Smash
Remaining Competitors: Cloud, Captain Falcon
We start with Sakurai giving the recap
"Last time on Super Smash Island," Sakurai said, "our final three were put to the test by raiding a castle, with some of the toughest boss monsters that I could find. Some struggled in their fights, while others cruised through them easily. After that, it was a race to not be last, but Samus was the one that came up short, and was sent home. Now, we are down to only Captain Falcon and Cloud. Today, one of them will be walking away with a hundred thousand dollars. Who will win it all? Find out on this grand finale of Super...Smash...Island!"
Cue intro
We start with both of the finalists just relaxing outside, but kind of keeping their distance from each other.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Captain Falcon.
"It's all come down to this." He said, "The endgame of it all. The anticipation could not be higher. Who knows when our final challenge will be dropped on us? This wait is killing me."
The confessional then transitions to Cloud.
"I actually did it." He said, "I made it. After all I've been through. It's just about time to go for the big win. I bear no ill will against Captain Falcon, but I'm still determined to win. I just hope he makes sure to give it his all. The win won't be satisfying if it's easy."
End of Confessional
We then see Sakurai walking up to them.
"Gentleman, I believe you know why I'm here right now." Sakurai said.
"Is it time? For the final challenge?" Falcon asked.
"Yes." Sakurai said, "But I must ask the both of you: Are you two ready?"
"YES!" Falcon said.
"Definitely." Cloud said.
"Are you sure?" Sakurai asked, "Because this one could get BRUTAL. Like, REALLY brutal."
Cap and Cloud look at each other nervously.
"Uh...yeah." Falcon said.
"Sure." Cloud said.
"Then come with me." Sakurai said.
They start following Sakurai, until they come to what appears to be a stadium. With seats, and what appears to be a high platform in the center.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Captain Falcon.
"I'll tell you this." He said, "For someone who sets up dangerous challenges for us, he does a good job at making them grand. When did he have the chance to set up a big stadium?"
End of Confessional
"Wow. What is all this?" Falcon asked.
"I'll get to that in a second." Sakurai said, "But first, I have have a surprise for you two."
"Aw, geez, not one of your surprises again." Cloud said.
"Relax, you're gonna like this one. COME ON OUT, EVERYONE!"
They then see all of the former contestants come out, waving to the camera.
"Say hello to the peanut gallery for your final challenge!" Sakurai said, "They will be here to watch the two of you compete."
"Whoa! It's so awesome to see everyone, again!" Falcon said.
"They don't call me a great host for nothing." Sakurai said, "I'll give you all a moment to get reacquainted."
The two of them then run up to the others.
"Great job, dude." Mac said, "Glad to see you made it to the finale."
"Mac, it's so good to see you again, bud." Falcon said, "Glad you're all healed up."
"I missed you so much!" Cloud said.
"Same here." Peach said, "And I'm happy to see you're doing much better."
The two of them share a kiss with each other.
"Great job, you two." Link said, "Who'd have thought it would be you guys in the end?"
"Hmph. It should have been ME here." Mario said, "Not them. Especially not Cloud."
"Oh, get over it." Lucina said.
"And I'm really happy to see you again." Falcon said.
"Aw, thanks." She said, "It's so exciting to see you at the finale. I've been rooting for you."
And the two of them share a kiss as well.
"Oh, gag me!" Marth said, "All of this lovey dovey stuff is getting old."
"Oh...Marth...glad to see you again "friend". How are you enjoying the haircut?" Falcon asked.
They see that Marth is wearing a beanie.
"Oh, ha ha ha. You all got lucky beating me." Marth said.
"Actually, it wasn't luck." Robin said, "They just simply worked together to take you down."
"Shut up, nerd! I made it farther than you!" Marth yelled.
"Yeah," Robin said, "but I'm not the one with a bald patch, so I'm not too hurt about losing. That look suits you."
Everyone except for Marth laughs at this.
"Laugh it up now, dirtbags." Marth said.
"Oh, we will." Zelda said, "You had that coming all season."
"I just hope that the two of you will give it your all today." Samus said.
"Oh, don't worry." Falcon said, "We will...as soon as we find out what it is he's gonna have us do."
"Alright, finalists," Sakurai said, "time to start the challenge. As for the rest of you, you'll see two sets of seats, each with a picture of the finalists. You sit on the side of who you're gonna root for."
Everyone goes to the seats. On the side for Cloud, we have Zelda, Ness, Donkey Kong, Ryu, Peach, Rosalina, and Robin. For Captain Falcon's side, we have Link, Samus, Isabelle, Little Mac, Lucina, Mario, Sonic, Pit, Luigi, Fox, Kirby, and Waluigi.
"Um...Marth...you need to take a seat." Sakurai said.
"No!" Marth said, "I'm not rooting for either of them. Screw them!"
"Oh, that's not a good idea." Sakurai said.
Sakurai snaps his fingers, and Master Hand comes in with some duct tape and a rope. Everyone watches him tie Marth down to the Cloud cheering section, and covers his mouth with duct tape. Marth is struggling to get out of the ropes, but can't.
"So, any last words before we start?" Sakurai asked.
"Mnml mmph! Mnph!" Marth yelled, but it was muffled by the duct tape.
That whole section gives Sakurai a thumbs up.
"Good!" Sakurai said, "Now, it's time for your final challenge. You've survived monsters, backstabbing, lies, loneliness, and Crazy Hand's cooking, but now, for the final challenge, you two will face...each other. Smash style."
Everyone gasps at this.
"That's right." Sakurai said, "Up high on that platform, the two of you will be duking it out with everything you got. All you have to do is fight it out on the platform, like you would in a real Smash Bros. fight. To win, you just need to knock the opponent off the platform, and onto the found below. Do that, and the game, as well as the money, will be yours."
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Captain Falcon.
"So, it's a fight, just like what we always do." Falcon said, "Except this time...the stakes have never been higher."
The confessional then transitions to Cloud.
"What a symbolic way to do a final challenge." Cloud said, "For this, it's time to go all out."
End of Confessional
"And...one more thing." Sakurai said, "Items will also randomly spawn, just like a real smash fight. When an item appears, get it and use it on your opponent. Now, are you both ready?"
"Oh yeah! Bring it on!" Falcon said.
"Let's do this!" Cloud said.
The both of them are brought up to platform, and prepare themselves for battle. Cloud goes ahead and pulls out his sword, while Cap just starts stretching to limber up. Then, two of them take a fighting stance.
CNo matter what happens, no hard feelings." Falcon said.
"Yeah." Cloud said, "Just promise me that you'll give me a good fight."
"You know it!"
"Fighters, the time has finally come!" Sakurai said, "3...2...1...GO!"
The crowd cheers as the two of them rush in at each other. Cap starts throwing punches at Cloud.
"Nice." Mac said, "He's already starting off strong. He's punching so fast I can't see them."
Cloud then jumps back and starts creating green blade beams by swinging his sword. Cap rushes up to Cloud, but is getting hit by the blade beams.
"Wow. Now that's cool." Ness said.
"Mnph mnl mmbl!" Marth yelled.
"I'm sorry, did you say something, Marth?" Zelda asked sarcastically.
"Well, you know what they say," Robin said, "silence is golden, but duct tape is silver."
"Mmmmph! Mmmmbl mmph mmlph!" Marth said furiously.
Back to the fight at hand, a few items suddenly pop up. A bomb, a blaster, and a hammer.
"Ooh, sweet!" Falcon said.
He quickly grabs the hammer, and starts trying to swing it at Cloud. He dodges the swings and uses his sword to disarm Cap.
"Wow." Luigi said, "You can tell by the looks on their faces that they mean business."
"Yeah." Kirby said, "They're fighting like it's a matter of life or death."
Cloud grabs the bomb and throws it at high speed, but Cap dodges the bomb quickly.
"The fight is on," Sakurai said, "and by the end of the day, we will crown a winner! Who will it be? Find out after the break."
Intermission
"Welcome back." Sakurai said, "From what you can see, the fight is really heating up. But only one will come out on top."
We then see more bombs appear, but this time, they're raining down on both of them.
"What is it with you and explosives?" Isabelle asked.
"We've had some left over from the show, and...I just hate to let them go to waste." Sakurai said.
"You are just sick and twisted." Fox said.
The bombs are continually raining down on the both of them, but they are toughie it out, and still clashing with each other. Eventually, the bomb rain stops.
"Well, glad that's o-" Cloud said.
"FALCON KICK!"
Cloud is caught by surprise, as he is hit directly in the gut from that kick.
"Oh no!" Peach said.
"Oof. Now that's gotta hurt." DK said.
"Mmmmph mmlph mmph!" Marth said.
Cloud is stumbling around for a moment, but then regains his footing.
"Well, you gotta hand it to him, the guy sure can take a hit." Waluigi said.
"True, but at a time like this, you can't let your guard down. Not even for a second." Samus said.
"He's got this. I know he can win." Lucina said.
"Now that was satisfying to watch." Mario said, "Kick his ass, Falcon!"
Cloud then rushes in and catches Cap by surprise with multiple slashes, flinging him back a bit. He then starts swinging roundhouse kicks at Cloud, but Cloud dodges every single kick. More items pop up, this time, it's more blasters and firearms, but the two decide to not use them, and continue fighting .
CAw, such a shame. I was hoping they'd use those." Sakurai said.
"What is wrong with you?" Link asked.
CWhat's wrong with trying to make the fight more interesting?"
Now they clash some more, this time it's generating powerful shockwaves, and everyone is shocked and cheering at the fight now.
"Seems we may be evenly matched." Falcon said.
"Yeah...but...it's still not over." Cloud said.
"Yeah. I'm already having a blast!"
"Did somebody say BLAST?!" Sakurai asked.
Suddenly, it's another shower of bombs coming down on them. They're ignoring it, and still fighting on through it.
"This is just too crazy! How much longer can the two of them go?" Pit asked.
Cloud then starts creating a lot more of those blade beams, but Cap instinctively dodges every single one of them.
"Alright, it's time to end this!" Falcon said.
He then runs up to Cloud and his fist ignites.
"FALCON…"
"Could this be it?" Sonic said.
"GO FOR IT, MAN!" Mac said.
"PUUUUNCH!"
Cloud is hit dead in the chest, and is sent flying, but is holding onto the platform for dear life. He then gets back up.
"That was too close." Ness said.
"I knew he wouldn't go down that easily." Ryu said.
"But who knows how badly he's hurt from that punch." Rosalina said.
"Whoa." Falcon said, "I thought for sure that would work. You're pretty tough."
"Yeah...but...I'm not going down yet." Cloud said.
"He's looking like he's in serious pain." Peach said.
Cloud then jumps up in the air, and comes crashing down on top of Cap with his sword.
"Man, it looks like Cap is really taking a beating." Mac said.
"They both are. It looks like this fight will be over sooner than we think." Kirby said.
The two of them are looking to be in pain. They're both just exhausted, and panting.
"Well, looks like they're starting to tire themselves out. Too bad I'm all out of explosives." Sakurai said.
"Looks like...huff...I'll have to end it...huff...with this next hit." Falcon said.
"Yeah...huff...same here. Time for the finisher." Cloud said.
The two of them then charge at each other again, this time a giant flaming fist and glowing sword clash, like something you would probably see out of an anime. The clash creates a massive shockwave, and the whole area is clouded by dust, are and no one can see anything.
"It looks as though that might be the deciding hit! But who will come out of this the winner?" Sakurai said.
The dust settles, and everyone is shocked at what they're seeing. One of them is hanging onto the ledge, and the other fell flat on their back on the ground. The one who managed to hang on until the end is…
"CLOUD!" Sakurai said, "Cloud managed to knock Captain Falcon off of the platform and onto the ground! Cloud has won the $100,000! Cloud is the winner of Super Smash Island!"
Everyone starts cheering for Cloud's victory.
Cloud then let's go and drops to ground, looking in pain. Everyone runs over to the two of them. (Except for Marth because he was still tied up.)
"Wait...did I...win?" Cloud asked weakly.
"You did! You won!" Peach said.
"That's...great. Glad I could keep my promise to you." Cloud said.
"I wouldn't have loved you any less if you didn't." She said.
The two of them then kiss.
"That was wicked!" Ness said.
"I hear you! That was one hell of a fight!" DK said.
"He's sure got determination." Zelda said.
"Cap! Are you okay?!" Mac asked.
"Unngh….yeah," Falcon said, "I'm fine, man. Looks like...I lost."
"How do you feel?" Lucina asked.
"Honestly, I feel great." Falcon said, "I sure enjoyed that fight. If I were to lose to someone, I'm glad it's him."
"Just know that you're still number one to me." Lucina said.
And the two of them kiss.
"How could you lose to him? Of course Cloud would win." Mario said.
"Hey, don't be a buzzkill." Falcon said "I'm happy for him. He's earned it."
"Are you in any pain?" Isabelle asked.
Are you kidding? I don't know if it's the adrenaline, but I'm just feeling great! I'm happy for Cloud." Falcon said.
"Even when he loses, he's still keeping a positive outlook. That's the Cap I know!" Mac said.
"Mmmmph! Mmmmph!" Marth yelled.
"Uh, should we go ahead and untie him?" Link said.
"I'll do it." Kirby said.
Kirby goes ahead and untie Marth and removes the duct tape off him.
"Ghaaah! God, that was dreadful! Took you all long enough! I can't believe you all let him do that to me!" Marth yelled.
"Well, there goes the peace and quiet." Waluigi said.
"I can't believe I actually did it. This all feels so unreal." Cloud said.
"You did a good job out there." Falcon said, "Thanks for giving me such a thrill! It was fun. Hope you enjoy the money."
"I can't believe you're still this happy, but thanks. You did great, too." Cloud said.
"You both put up quite the show." Sakurai said, "I congratulate you both. And Cloud. Congratulations on winning the competition. The money, as well as all the bragging rights, is all yours."
He then looks over at the camera.
"And there you all have it." Sakurai announced, "Cloud has won the game, and the money. Next episode, we will wrap everything up, and these smashers will all be heading home. (Whispering) Or ARE they? I have a couple more bombshells I'm going to drop on them. What are they, you ask? Well, find out next time, on the dramatic conclusion of Super...Smash...Island!"

Authors Notes
And so, the winner has been decided. Now that was quite a finale. I decided to not do the whole different endings thing. It kind of defeats the purpose. So I decided there should just be one canon winner. Next episode is going to help us transition to season two. It will also show which characters are going to season two. It's going to be exciting. It will be out within the week. I wanna get it done so we can do the next season. It's going to have some surprises you probably didn't see coming. Till next time;)
