"Alright, come on." Adam said, appearing back in Sky's room a few minutes later.
"You can give up on yourself, but I'm not about to let you lay there and die."
He peeled off her clothes as he drug her down the hall, before picking her up and putting her under the water of the shower.
"Fuck! Adam!" Sky screamed.
"That's fucking freezing." She said, trying to get out of the shower.
Adam refused to let her move, reaching over and turning the hot on, leveling out her water.
"Why would you do that?"
"Because I needed you awake." Adam told her.
"I need you able to focus. Are you awake?"
Sky nodded.
"You get cleaned up, I'm going to go strip your sheets and start the washer."
While Adam was busy, Sky took the time to let the hot water fall on her back, easing her sore muscles.
It wasn't until she saw the light pink water going down the drain that she let the grief take over.
When Adam came back in, he found her sitting in the tub, letting the water fall on her.
He helped her rinse the bubbles out of her hair, before helping her out, wrapping a towel around her.
Adam helped her back to her room, getting her dressed, before taking her to the livingroom, where he had brought over some take out.
"Why are you doing this?" Sky asked softly, as she sat down.
"What do you mean, babe?" Adam asked, handing her a fork.
"This. All of this?" Sky asked.
"Why do you keep pushing? Keep caring?" Her voice getting louder.
"Don't you see that its all my fault?"
"It's not your fault Skylar." Adam told her.
"You did nothing to cause this."
"You don't know how I felt." She told him.
"I didn't want kids. Ever." The tears that were already flowing turned into a complete break down.
"Sky..."
"Once I saw your face. When I saw how happy you were, it made me realize that just because I was scared of having kids didn't mean that I really didn't want them. I was happy. Once the shock wore off, I was happy. I was ready. I couldn't wait." Sky told him.
"Maybe if I hadn't had those feelings as soon as I was told. Maybe if I had never said that I didn't want kids, then maybe none of this would have happened."
"Oh, Sky." Adam said, pulling her into his chest.
"And I shouldn't be doing this." Sky said, pushing herself away from him.
"I know you're hurting. I know I need to be there for you. And I shouldn't be putting all of this on you."
"Hey." He said, lifting her chin for their eyes to meet.
"We are in this together. I can be strong for you when you need it. And you can be strong for me when I need it."
He wiped her tears away.
"I know it might not feel like it now, but we will get through this. You and me."
"You and me." Sky repeated, leaning in and kissing his lips softly, letting him pull her into his strong arms.

"Are you sure you're ready for this?" Sky had lost count of the amount of times over the last two weeks that Adam had asked her that same exact question.
Over the last two months he hadn't let her out of his sight.
After he had found her in her apartment, drunk and in bed for three days straight, he had brought her back to his place that he shared with his brother and their friend. Sky felt as if she was being baby sat.
Adam had taken several weeks off, but once he started taking bookings again, she was left with Brent asking her every few minutes how she was doing. Or Kathy randomly stopping by to check on her while everyone else was at work.
Sky knew that they were just trying to help, but she needed time alone.
She needed to work through her own feelings, with out someone there asking her how she was, or if she needed anything. Or letting her know that they were there if she ever needed to talk.
When she had her moments of breaking down, she felt that everyone would stop what they were doing and try their best to comfort her and stop her tears. then afterwards, they would walk on egg shells around her, making sure they didn't say something that would put her back in tears.
She had found herself hiding how she was feeling. Keeping everything inside, and feeling as if she was going to explode.
"Sky, are you sure? You don't have to come back right now. You can wait."
Sky reached over and jerked her elbow pads from his hands, pulling them on as she walked away with out saying a single word to him.
"Sky?" He said, grabbing her arm.
"I've told you I'm ready." She yelled.
And she had. She had told him numerous times that she felt like she needed to get back to her normal life. Needed something else to live for.
She turned and walked through the curtain as her music hit.
She found herself unfocused, half a second late on reactions, she even stumbled once.
It wasn't enough that any fans could tell, but she could and she knew it was something Adam would pick up on.
She came out on the losing end, and as she walked up the ramp, she saw Adam waiting, so she exited on the other side of the stage.
She went straight to the shower, not ready to face Adam.
When she came out, she saw Alex standing in the hall. She wanted to turn and walk the other way, but the women's locker room was at the end of the hall, and she had no where else to go.
As she walked by Alex stopped her.
"Hey, are you ok?" He asked softly, not wanting anyone else to overhear their conversation.
"Like you care."
"I'm being serious Skylar. I know what I did. I was in a bad spot. I was drinking. I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am."Alex told her.
"I'm not asking you to forgive me. Or even be my friend. I know I don't deserve that. But I do care for you. And I'm worried."
"What have you heard?" Sky asked, knowing people had been talking.
"Nothing." Sky just looked at him.
"I'm serious. I know that you took a couple months off for medical reasons. I wanted to call you, but I know you're still with Cole, and I really didn't want to cause any issues. I just, I'm worried."
Sky couldn't stop the tears from falling.
"Do you want me to find Cole? I'm sure he's close by." Sky shook her head.
"Do you want to go somewhere to talk?" He asked.
She thought about it for a few minutes, knowing how much it would help her to get somethings off her chest, but at the same time, she wasn't sure if she could trust Alex like she use to be able too.
She knew he had changed. She knew he was more of who he used to be before all the drinking started.
"I know sorry doesn't change what I did." Alex said.
"But if what's going on with you has anything to do with what I did. With how I treated you, and abused you, I really am so sorry."
"HEY!" Adam's voice boomed, echoing off the walls.
"Back up, now!" Adam placed himself between Sky and Alex, which wasn't hard, they weren't very close to each other.
"I meant no harm." Alex said taking a few steps back.
"I'm not trying to cause issues. I was just checking on her."
"She doesn't need you to check on her." Adam told him.
"She needs something." Alex said, raising his voice.
"Look at her. You saw her in the ring. She's off. She could have gotten seriously hurt out there. How could you have let her take the match."
"I don't know if you have meet Sky, but she does what she wants." Adam told him.
"To a limit Cole. When she can't make the right decision for herself, you have to." Alex told him, leaning in.
"Look at her. She's a mess. Get her help, before something bad happens." Alex turned and walked away, leaving Adam and Sky standing there.
He turned and put his arms around her, pulling her into him.
"Tell me what to do." He whispered in her ear.
Sky pulled back, pushing her lips to his. Her hands going up the back of his shirt.
"Tell me you love me." She whispered.
"Tell me you want me."
"Of course I do." Adam said, as Sky pulled him into an empty office, locking the door behind them.
"Sky, we're at work." He tried as she reached down and pushed his trunks down his legs.
"I don't care." She breathed.
"I need to feel you." She said, wrapping her legs around his waist.

"Sky?" Adam's voice called from the bathroom.
"What is this?" He asked, holding up a pregnancy test.
"What does it look like?" She asked turning back to the mirror, continuing her make up.
"There's like 10 tests." Adam said.
"Yeah."
"Why?" Adam asked.
"I wanted to make sure."
"They are all negative." Adam said.
"What made you think you were pregnant?"
"I'm late." She told him.
"I mean, that happens when you have sex without protection."
"Without protection?" Adam asked.
"You're on birth control."
"No."
"What do you mean no?" Adam asked.
"I mean no." Sky said.
"I haven't been on birth control since we first found out we were pregnant."
"I thought you went back on it." Adam said, Sky just shook her head.
"Do you want to get pregnant?" This caused Sky to turn and look at him.
"You do. Skylar, you can't just do this without even talking to me. Is that what all the sex has been about lately?"
Sky stood and walked over to him, letting her arms fall around his waist.
"Are you complaining about having sex with me?" She asked.
"No, but when its sometimes three times a day, in the locker room, in the gas station bathroom. And now to find out that you are trying to get pregnant." He took a breath and tried to think.
"With out even talking to me about it. You've never been like this. I wrote it off as you needing that physical connection because of losing the baby, but that's not it, is it?" He asked.
"Was Alex right? Do you need someone to talk to?"
"Really Adam?" Sky asked, turning away from him.
"I'm fine." She said, going back to finish her make up.
Adam stood there watching her, not sure what to do next.
~March 20, 2016~
"Sky?" Adam asked softly.
His alarm had woken him up, he was heading out for a show, and when he reached for her, she wasn't in the bed next to him.
Eleven days ago their relationship had changed.
He felt betrayed, like she was keeping things from him.
A week ago he found Sky in the bathroom with another pregnancy test in her hands.
Positive.
"How can this be?" Adam asked her.
"We haven't done anything since I found out you were trying to get pregnant."
"Sometimes it takes a couple weeks to show up on a home test." Sky smiled at him.
"Aren't you happy?"
"Happy?" He asked.
"You're going behind my back, sneaking around. Lying to me."
"When did I lie?"
"The birth control."
"Adam, never once did you ask me about being on birth control." Sky laughed.
"It's not a lie when you just assumed shit."
"Sky, you aren't ready for this. Your body isn't ready." He tried.
"Ready or not, We're pregnant." She told him.
"Be happy."
Adam pulled himself out of bed, and walked to the bathroom.
He found Sky sitting on the toilet. Her head in her hands as she cried.
He was about to ask what was wrong when he saw the blood.
"Oh Skylar." He said softly, walking over and pulling her into his arms.
Even when she tried to push him away, he held her.
He helped her to bed.
"I'm going to cancel my show."
"No. Go." Sky said.
"Please."
"I can't leave you like this." Adam tried.
"I need to be alone, Adam. Just go." She pulled the covers around her and turned away, pulling herself away from his touch.
He didn't know what else to do.
He knew he shouldn't leave, but at the same time, he couldn't force her to talk.
"I'll be back in two days." He said.
She didn't respond. He picked up his bag and left.
~April 2, 2016~
"I don't even know what is going on." Adam tried.
The last two days were nothing but arguing.
"Why would you think I was cheating on you?"
"You haven't touched me in a month." Sky said.
"You're obviously getting fucked by someone."
"I was giving you space. I thought you needed that." Adam tried.
"I don't know what else to do."
Sky went to their room, closing the door behind her.
These fights had been going on for days. One second she'd be ok, then she would start yelling.
He slept on the couch that night, just as he had for the last five nights.
The next day, Sky came out to get something to eat.
"Sky, can we just talk?" She didn't respond. Instead she took her food back to the room and closed the door.
Each time she would come out, he would try, and each time, she walked away.
He would take the yelling and accusations over the silence.
He camped out on the couch again that night.
Finally, he couldn't take it anymore. He walked into his room, seeing Sky gathering her bags.
He looked around, and all of her things were packed.
"Skylar, please." Adam pleaded as he watched her walk out of his bedroom.
He followed, stopping her as she reached the front door.
"Don't do this. I know you're hurting. I know things are a mess. Just think about it."
"I have, Adam. I wouldn't do this with out having thought about it." She said softly.
"I may be an emotional disaster right now, but none of this has changed the way I feel about you."
"Then why leave? Why can't we work this out?" He asked, not trying to hide the tears building in his eyes.
She reached up and wiped his cheek, leaving her hand there for a minute.
"We've had a fun time for the past year and a half. But things have changed. I'm not the same as I was when we first met, Adam, and neither are you. I guess it just boils down to the fact that I don't know where I stand with you. I don't know what I mean to you. I know that you fill my heart, every time you speak, I listen. Every time you breath, I hear it. Every time I think about you, I want to be with you. I love you, Adam. All of you, not just your physical appearance, but your personality, your heart, your smile, your smell, your laugh. I love the way your smile makes your eyes squint, the way you sing in the shower. I love everything about you, but with the things that have happened in the past two weeks, I've realized that I just need more from you. More than you are willing or even able to give to me right now. And it's not fair to stay. It's not fair for you to feel pressured into things you aren't ready for. And it's not fair to me to long for those things with someone who isn't ready. I'm sorry for hurting you in this way, but I'll never be sorry for us, Adam. I will never wish that I had never met you, never regret loving you. I've loved all of our time together." She kissed his cheek, not hiding her own tears, and walked out the door.
Adam watched as she got in her car and pulled out of the parking lot, slipping his hand into his pocket, twirling the diamond ring around his pinkie.
He had planned on purposing tonight over dinner. He had been planning it for a month.
Before they were torn apart. Before the destruction touched their lives.
But now, all he could do was stand there and watch the women of his dreams drive out of his life.
He was helpless. So he walked into the kitchen and poured himself a glass of whiskey, going to his room, and placing the ring back in the box at the top of his closet.
Brent walked to his door.
"Sky's gone." Adam said, downing the alcohol, throwing the empty glass at the wall, before laying down on the bed, closing his eyes, not knowing what else to do.
No matter how much he wanted her, he couldn't make her stay.
As the days went on, he tried calling her. He tried stopping over at her apartment.
Texts went unanswered. He would hear from others that she was ok, but never from her.
She had cut all contact.
And just like that, their story was over.
