A giggle accompanied a half-hearted protest as Regina tried to swat Emma's hands away as she began to dress herself. The noon hour saw them succumb to the pleasures of the other not once, but twice, and now Regina was rushing to get back home before Robin got there to drop off the boys.

"Emma, I have to leave." Regina let out a high pitched squeal as Emma's arms wrapped around her and she was pulled back onto the bed. "Please. I need to get home before RObin shows up."

"I don't want to let you go. I missed you." The honest words passed from her lips before she tucked her face against Regina's neck and placed soft kisses there.

"Then come back to the house with me." She tilted her head to the side, giving Emma more access to her neck and enjoying the press of lips against her skin. "But decide quick. I don't have very long left."

One last kiss to a neck and a soft squeeze around the middle and Emma was releasing Regina so the two of them could get dressed. There were plenty of stolen kisses along the way, and even a few that weren't stolen, but willingly given, as well.

It felt nice to have this carefree aura wrapped around them once more. And just as Emma had admitted, Regina had also missed the blonde. She missed the comfort and the spontaneity and the feeling of things just being right. Gone was the embarrassment and shame that she had felt when they had first gotten together. The need to hide the relationship that she had first felt had completely dissipated. Now she didn't care who saw them together or what they could be seen doing, to a certain extent at least.

Logically, Regina knew that they couldn't just pick back up where they had left off. They had a lot of things to discuss first. But she also couldn't help wanting to be selfish and spend that time making up for all the time that her and Emma had misses out on. She wanted them to get back to where they had been so they could continue moving forward as a couple.

They had no trouble in the intimacy department, she noticed. Not that she minded it one bit. She relished in the feeling of Emma's arm draped around her shoulder as they enjoyed mugs of hot tea. And that's how they found themselves when the front door swung open and the boys came rushing inside.

Roland came in with a skip in his step. "Henry got in trouble," he sang out as he headed upstairs, just as his dad told him to do once they got back to the house. Always the one to be reprimanded, he was filled with glee that it was finally Henry's turn to get fussed at. Henry came in with a scowl planted firmly on his face.

"I don't see what the big deal is," he called over his shoulder to Robin who was not far behind, face twisted a fuming.

Regina was quick to get off the couch and set her tea down when Roland had come in saying that Henry had gotten in trouble. She quickened her step to get into the foyer as Henry came through the door. "What's all this commotion?"

"It's nothing, Mom," Henry said. "He's just blowing it out of proportion."

Robin shot Henry a pair of eyes before he turned towards Regina. "I caught Henry with a girl in his room early this morning."

"Henry!" Regina turned to her son with wide eyes. "What is going on? You know better than that."

"Whoa." Emma let out a shocked whisper from her spot at the entrance to the living room. Henry lifted a hand towards her in greeting.

"Hey Coach."

"What's she doing here? I thought you two were done?" Robin kept switching his gaze from his son's baseball coach to his ex-wife.

"We're working things out. But that's not the point. We're focussing on Henry right now, not me and Emma."

"Probably where he got the notion to do what he wants."

"Robin, focus!"

Ona good day, Regina had a low tolerance from Robin, and given the situation at hand it was lower than usual. She turned to Henry. "Living room. Now." Then to Emma. "Can you go check on Roland and keep him distracted until we are finished down here?" And lastly to Robin. "You, too. Living room."

The three people move almost immediately. Henry trudged into the living room and threw himself down on the couch. Emma nodded and pressed a kiss to Regina's cheek before whispering good luck to her and heading upstairs to find Roland. Robin let out a huff and moved into the living room, but stood on the other side of the coffee table, staring at Henry. Regina walked in after Robin, a finger pressed to her temple making small circled to try to calm the headache she could feel coming on.

"Alright, I need an explanation."

Both Henry and Robin launched into their own rendition of what had transpired in the early morning hours, both trying to speak over the other and getting increasingly louder in the process. Regina ran a hand down her face before she waved her hands at both of them.

"Stop, stop, stop. One at a time please."

Henry opened his mouth to go first but Robin neat him to it. He flopped back against the couch with a huff and an eyeroll.

"I heard a noise early this morning and got out of bed to investigate. I checked the baby's room first, then on Roland in the living room. He fell asleep reading on the couch. Everything seemed fine in the house. I decided to check on Henry before going back to bed and there's a girl in Henry's bed!"

"You're making it sound way worse than it was." Henry said. "We weren't doing anything bad, Mom. It was just kissing."

"At three in the morning!"

Henry made a face as he gave Robin a side eyed glare. "We don't have any time to ourselves. We just wanted some alone time. That's it."

"You can't have alone time," Robin said before Regina could address her son. "I was your age once. I know exactly what would've happened if I hadn't caught you two."

"No you don't! Gods, I know it's hard to believe but I'm not you, Robin." Both Regina and Robin looked taken aback as Henry addressed Robin by his first name. "All we were going to do was make out for a little while and they she was going to head home. I swear." He turned to Regina. "You believe me, don't you, Mom?"

She was torn. PArt of her wanted to believe that her sweet son was being honest and that nothing would have gone past innocent kissing. Yet the other part of her remembered what she and Daniel had gotten up to when they had a few free minutes together and her heart felt like it was being torn in two. She knew she was taking too long to respond when two sets of expectant eyes stared back at her.

"I believe that you are being honest about your intentions. However, sometimes we anticipate one thing and then it goes a lot further than we intend it to go." Robin scoffed and Regina shot him a side eye glare before turning to him. "You know, I think I'd prefer to have this conversation with Henry alone." When Robin opened his mouth to argue, she held up a hand. "I will call you tomorrow and we can talk about it then."

Robin looked back at Henry and let out a small huff. He knew when to stop pushing Regina. "Okay. I'll talk to you tomorrow." And then he was gone.

Regina moved around the coffee table to side beside Henry, her body angled towards her son. "It's not that I don't believe you. It's just-"

"It's just that you don't believe me. Why doesn't anyone believe me?" He looked so down and defeated that Regina just wanted to pull him close and hold him tight.

"I'm not saying that, Henry. I remember being your age. I remember what I was getting into."

"But I'm not you." He was getting frustrated.

"No, you aren't. But you are a teenage boy and so very much like your father." Regina saw Henry's expression soften and pressed on. "I was always the good girl until I met your dad. He showed me that I had a hidden wild side. One night he got me to sneak out of the house and we drove out to this huge field on the edge of town. He had packed pillows and blankets and we laid in the bed of that old pickup truck, stargazing and talking about the future."

Her mind wandered back to that night many years ago. The way the moonlight gleamed off of Daniel's face as how his eyes sparkled as he talked about what he wanted to do in life. The carefree smile that seemed to be a permanent fixture on his face. The swoop of his hair across his forehead.

Henry's hand on her brought her back to the present. "Keep going. Tell me more." Henry loved hearing stories about his dad and Regina was never one to deny him.

"We were both sixteen, the same age as you, and had only been dating a few months. And like you said, we only had the intention of kissing. And that's all it was at first. Until something changed and it became more and we did something neither of us were mentally and emotionally ready for." She paused for a second. "Henry, you know that sex is a big deal, right?"

"Aw, Mom. Do we have to have the sex talk?" he groaned, closing his eyes.

"Either I give it or Robin does. Take your pick."

A second groan accompanied a face rub before Henry looked back at his mother. "You, please. I don't want to go through this with him."

"That's what I thought." She shifted to get comfortable to the very uncomfortable talk she was about to have with her son. "Like I said, sex is a big deal."

"Could you not say 'sex' so much?"

"I'm not going to use obscene alternate names like your Aunt Ruby."

Henry's face instantly lit up. "Can Aunt Ruby give me the talk instead?"

"No." Regina said instantly. "Now stop interrupting me. I want to be done with this just as much as you do."

He flopped back against the couch with a small huff. "Okay, okay. Continue."

"I just want you yo be honest and open with me, Henry. I want you to feel comfortable enough to talk to me, or Robin, or even Emma. But most of all, I want you to be safe. And that includes more than just being safe from diseases." She wanted as Henry cringed but knew it was better to have this talk now than never. "Speaking of, do you need me to buy you some condoms?"

"No," he mumbled, cheeks turning bright pink at his mom's words.

"So you're gotten some for yourself already?"

"No. I haven't done anything remotely close to needing any."

"Well if you do get to that point, please let me know. Don't just get one from your friends. It's very important to make sure that you are wearing the proper size."

As the conversation drew on, Henry's face turned more and more red from embarrassment. But he let Regina keep talking, knowing everything would be alright once she finished. And in the end it wasn't so bad after all. It was just weird to talk about that sort of thing with your mother.

"I think that just about covers it. Do you have any questions?"

"Are you and Emma back together now?"

"I meant about the talk." When Henry didn't budge, she sighed, but couldn't help the smile that crept across her lips. "We're working on us right now. But I'm hoping we'll be fully back together soon."

Henry beamed. "Did you tell her that you loved her?"

"Several times." Both mother and son turned towards the doorway to see Emma leaning against it with a smile.

"Well did you say it back?" he pressed.

"Several times," Regina echoed and Emma grinned. "How long have you been standing there?"

"I came in right around buying the right sized condom. Super glad I never had to worry about that." She made the finger gun gesture towards Regina with a wink before sitting down on the coffee table near Henry. "But she is right, kid. Please, please, please tell one of us when you get there and we'll help you get prepared. There's no shame in it."

Henry nodded before reaching neck and scratching his neck. "Yeah, I know…. So can I go to my room now?"

"You may."

As soon as the words left Regina's mouth, Henry was up and hurrying to his room. Emma laughed as she took his spot on the couch.

"I think you handled that talk really well. Way better than I would have, at least."

"Henry was the first draft. I'll be much better prepared when it's Roland's turn."

"Which won't be for another twenty years."

"Exactly."

Both women laughed and Emma put her arm around Regina's shoulders to pull her in closer. "I liked the part where you talked about communication."

Regina hummed softly. "I've recently learned that communication can solve many issues." She instantly leaned her head to rest on Emma's shoulder. "I just should've realized that sooner."

"Better late than never." She rested her head against Regina's and reached with her free hand to entwine their fingers together. "Speaking of communication, do you remember what you said when you were banging on my door this morning?"

Regina hummed in the affirmative, her thumb stroking Emma's hand. "I do. Quite clearly."

Emma was silent for a moment, rolling the words around in her mouth before she spoke them. "Did you mean it? When you said you wanted to marry me and have children together?" Her eyes stayed locked on their hands as she waited for Regina's response. She didn't have to wait long.

"I meant every word." She gave Emma's hand a gentle squeeze. " If I hadn't been so scared of what everyone else was thinking, and focused on what was making me happy instead, you could already be living here and we could be discussing a wedding."

"Oh really now?" Emma asked with a soft chuckle. "What makes you so sure of that?" She turned her head and kissed Regina's temple.

"Because I would have asked and you would've said yes. It's as simple as that."

"And what makes you think I would have said yes?"

Regina smiled a slow smile. "Because you love me."

Emma mimicked the smile. "I do love you."

"I love you, too."
