"Nervous?"
The two men halted just outside Celestina's office. Jun shifted in his new black suit and tie, which felt like a noose around his neck. "How much… does she remember? About her life?"
"I'm not sure, Jun. She's been in therapy so far. All her doctors have said that she's doing well. Her memory is another thing," Musa admitted. "But she most certainly remembers you."
Jun turned to face her door while Musa left his side. Taking a breath, he lifted his hand and gave the door two knocks.
There she was: standing in front of her desk, as if she had been waiting for him all this time. Indeed, she had been waiting, ever since she first learned of his return.
Her face held a soft smile for him. "Hi."
"H-Hi," He replied, albeit reluctantly.
That was when she noticed it on his face – the guilt. He… blames himself. For my current predicament. "Oh, you look so handsome. And I am so happy to see you again. To see that you're okay. I've been going crazy not knowing where you were or whether you were even alive. I've missed you so much." She said as she toyed with the end of the sleeves of her maroon long sleeved shirt.
He continued to stand in front of her and study her with sad eyes.
"I'm okay," Celestina's voice was just above a whisper as she closed the gap between them. Whatever it took to get through to him. "Jun, I'm okay," Her hands ran over his and she held them in a gentle clasp, pleading with him. "Say something, please…?"
"You look beautiful, princess."
That was all she needed to hear to prompt her to jump into his arms, embracing him after all these years.
