"Just what is happening?" Korra said as Naga weaved through streets and ally ways, they had been following the scent of the Equalist for a little while but Naga had lost the scent a couple of times but found it again later, but it was becoming trickier to track.

"Well. The men who took Bolin are Amon's henchmen. The Equalists. And that...guy. The press are calling him the Silver Spirit. He been lurking around for the last couple of months and attacking criminals. This... Is the first time anyone has had a proper look at him." Mako said clenching the saddle beneath him.

"Amon? That Anti- bending guy with the mask? Is that why that spirit is here attacking people."

"I... Don't know about the spirit but I do know Amon is the leader of the Equalists?" Mako grumbles.

"What does Amon want with the Triple threats?" Korra said turning her head to face Mako.

"Whatever it is, it can't be good!" He spat, "I can't believe Bolin got himself into this mess!" He growers, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration.

Korra grabbed his forearm reassuringly, "Mako, we are going to save your brother. I promise you that."

Mako nodded as they return their action to looking around for fresh tire track in the wrong places.

"We need to start evacuating the nearby buildings. We can't contain the fire." The chief fire officer exclaimed running up to Beifong and Tenzin.

It had been about five minutes since Korra and Mako had left and the blaze had been very resistant to whatever methods they had tried to throw at it.

Water. Noneffective. Evaporated immediately on contact.

Earth that had suspended it high and it simply devoured up the rock and dropped right back down again. They have even tried to bury the flames to suffocate it but it only added fuel to the fire.

Some fire benders tried to help out by trying to manipulate the flames with their chi, but it did not obey.

That only left air to try. If it was incorrectly done it would make thing much much worse.

"Officer Li, gather your men and tell them to evacuate that building and that building, as the fire is headed in that direction. And you keep the press out the way." Beifong barked out orders to her staff while Tenzin was mulling over his thoughts.

As the officers depart to do their respective jobs Tenzin noted how tense Lin had become, he of course was worried about the never-dying flames but still. The flames would consume the city of not stopped soon, Amon and his chi-blockers would be the least of their issues is so.

"What if I we're to air bend a dome around it."

Lin looked at him if he were crazy.

"Your joking? Right? That'll make things worse!"

"No. I can utilise my air bending to suffocate the fires." He insisted, Lin scowled, a clear indication to go ahead. They were after all out of options.

The chief fire officer waved his men to move back.

Tenzin handed his staff to Lin before he ran closer to fires, his hands moved with a steady flow as he pulled on the dry air from around him.

He threw his arms out, and his feet moved in accordance as a bubble of air began to form around the large blaze.

The fire reacted as expected with new air, it grew bigger, but the speed of the air began to cut off it growth. It looked like it was striking and moving rapidly around in the bubble. After a minute sweat dripped from his temple from the heat it was still casing and the effort to contain the inferno was become harder to smother.

In the end his grip slipped on the air and the bubble disrupted, causing the fire to burst back of life.

Lin's cables we're fast enough to yank Tenzin back from the back lash of fire.

"So close, " he coughed out.

"Can you do it again?" Lin inquired; a flash of hope flickered across the faces of the fire brigade behind her. They had a solution at last.

"Perhaps. But *cough* I'll need help" he wheezed out.

"Anything. Name it." Lin said as the fires began to creep toward buildings.

"I can't do it on my own. I need another Airbender."

"Avatar Korra isn't here? And your kids Tenzin-"

"Korra hasn't been able to produce any air. And Jinora is too young. She isn't physically capable of something of this level." Panic was begging to set in for Tenzin.

There was a slight pause as it finally occurs to them

"Teselo" the both of them exclaim.

Tenzin hasn't realised he had forgotten that she was an Airbender. Sure, he was training her but he didn't see her often outside of training and dinner times. She was off at her bakery or catching up with friends in the city.

"Where is she? The island?" Beifong asked quickly.

"No. It's her day off. She said she would be at her bakery, prepping stuff for the morning I believe."

Beifong glanced around, her mind mapping out where she is from here to the bakery.

"It's two blocks away. Here." Lin thrust his staff back at him, he nodded as air bend the glider out and took off to the sky.

XxxxxX

Shit. shit. shit. I fucked up, Yira.

Was the first thing she heard as she ran along the ceiling of the hideout silently.

What did you do? She mentally growls as she slaps on another bug under the doorway to the training camp's section.

Wolf came to a halt and jumped into what seemed to be a closet filled with cleaning supplies.

I may have gotten over excited and started a fire... Kage said sheepishly.

Then why didn't you put it out.

I was but one thing led to another and I needed to vanish and follow the avatar and her friend when they left. I heard that they might need your help before I departed.

Fine! FINE! I'll sort it! You go back to keeping an on Korra! AND NO MORE FIRES. OK!

She snapped as her hand began to form the hand signs for the cloning technic. On the last one she grabbed a handful of Quarts dust and released the quivering chi from her system. There were two puffs as two clones appeared.

Wolf swayed from the amount of loss of chi, without a word she gave them the paperwork. They split it up evenly and exited the cupboard to continue the mission. Although she couldn't really tell how long clones had before they disperse.

Regaining herself she immediately ported to the bakery, yanking off her mask and arm guards as she arrives at her spare room. Yira was now grateful for her foresight to leave spare clothes around, though she did quickly port to her apartment for her sand gourd.

She pulled on her light green trousers and pulled off her stab vest, not bothering to take of her mesh shirt she pulled her green vest over it and jacket. Making sure to tuck away the mesh that covers the neck as she darts downstairs. She didn't bother with her putting on her leg wraps. At time to time her legs needed to breathe and on top of that it had taken longer to remove the blackleg wraps that are part of her ANBU uniform.

Sineh jumped in surprise at her entry,

"If anyone asks, I've been here all day." She urged as she pulled up her sleeves then put on her flour-covered apron and joined in on what he was working on. Which were glazing buns ready for the morning.

There were several trays dotted all around the kitchen from the last several hours after closing time of different types of pastries and buns, ready for the morning.

"Did you do all these on your own?" She asked as he gave her a spare brush for glazing.

"Well, Lena left two hours ago, and I've only done six trays so far I've got four more to do. After this I have to make up dough mix ready for later."

"That great! Good work!" She compliments as there were some very loud hammering at the first doors.

"YIRA! YOU IN HERE!" was the first thing she heard as she peeked her head through the doorway to the front of the store.

She sighed as she hurries to the door, the door swings open harshly from the wind.

"I didn't miss a training session, did I? 'Cause I thought that wasn't for another few days?" Yira said playing dumb.

It took a second for him to register what she said, he shook his head quickly.

"No. I need your help. Come quickly."

"Fine." She mumbled, removing the apron when she darts back into the backroom to grab her sand gourd.

"Let's go." Tenzin took off on his glider as Yira used her sand to fly next to him.

"Holy shit." Yira exclaims as the smoke and fire came into view. It was only meters away from burning a building as it was at least 9ft high and 10 meters long and growing very quickly in size.

What Yira could see as she lands lots of people in their PJs and dressing robes. Clearly, the people who were living in the buildings close by.

"What's happened here?" She called out, her sand slithering back into her gourd.

"Explanations later. First, we need to put it out. Yira do you know how create a pocket of air?"

Yira nodded to his relief.

"Good. Let's get started."

Yira put her gourd down gently to the floor and steps away from it. She is after all going to need space.

She and Tenzin took their positions, with a deep breath they both began to manipulate the airflow around them.

The wind all around them began to pick up, synchronizing movement with each other, their arms flowing gracefully as the wind wraps around the black flames. It did grow in hight however the flame began to shrink around the sides as the air begins to cut off its growth.

Yira and Tenzin held firm as they clung tight to the air now surrounding the fire. The fire was building pressure much to their struggle, but it was gradually dying out from lack of new oxygen.

"Yira. I'm going to have to let go to reapply it otherwise the bubble will fizzle out."

"F-Fine." She struggles out, her arms burning from the strain, the pressure of the smoke and heat were hard on her chi. She knew it had to be reapplied otherwise it would burst back to life. From what she could see inside the air pocket, it had halved in size and was roughly her high now. She knew how to rid the fire but that would break her cover and reveal herself as a fire bender too. Definitely not happening.

She gasped as Tenzin losses his grip on the air bubble, she could feel her arms shaking as Tenzin begins to air bend another pocket of air around the one, she was just about holding.

"Yira. Do the same!" He called out to her, Yira bobbed her head in recognition. Her jaw was clenched as the strain was so big to talk.

Letting go of the air was a minor relief on her muscles but in the corner of her eye she could see him bending under the pressure.

With a deep breath she followed the same patterns of movement she did before.

Her breath became ragged as she watched slowly as the black flames finally died away, there was an almighty cheer from the crowds and sighs of relief from the fire and Police Department.

They had to do the sphere around the fire at least three time before it had died out and both of them dropped to their knees as they let go.

They kept it going for another minute, just in case. So not to accidentally restart the fire by the embers exposed to fresh air.

Tenzin in all his time had never felt so drained, had it been ordinary fire it would have gone out instantly but these. This was not natural fire. It felt wrong to be even near it.

Yira hands barely catch her as she falls forward, her knees dug painfully into the ground underneath her. Something warm trickled from her nose and onto the floor.

"Tenzin. Teselo" was the alarmed voice of Beifong as she came running up to them.

She groaned as she clamped her fingers on the bride of her nose. The mental strain was catching up with them. Tenzin didn't look any better, like her he also had a bloody nose. Sweat and exhaustion was painted all over him too.

Yira jumped as a hand clamped over her shoulder, startled she looked up to see Beifong kneeling down too their level.

"Here," she offers them from her pouch on her belt two clean tissues or handkerchiefs.

"Thanks" she croaked, putting it to her nose to stop the bleeding. Yira sat up so she was sitting in her heels, making sure to keep her head up.

"Exhaustion would be the understatement on what I'm feeling right now." She wheezes out watching the fire department putting out the smouldering embers. Finally, her nose stopped bleeding after a few minutes.

"Let's get you both checked out with a healer." Beifong said straighten up.

Tenzin nodded and got up, he dusted himself off, he offered his hand to her which she accepted.

As he pulled her up something barrelled straight into Yira side, making everyone jump back in alarm.

XxxxxxX

The familiar white glowing fur and light blur marking was the only thing Yira could see as a slippery red tongue licking her all over her face.

"A-Akari! AKARI. STOP. Your licking my mouth." Yira said shoving the giant spirit wolf paw off her chest, her arms wiping her face as she sat up.

"Disgusting. You know that stuff doesn't wash out." She grumbles as Akari let out an amused huff, her tails swaying side to side happily as she sat down.

Yira clambers to her feet, brushing the dirt off herself, with a playful scowl on her face.

She grinned as Akari trotted closer to her, her head rubbing against her stomach. Yira's fingers sinked into her fur as she traced the natural light blue patterns on her back, Yira jumped as someone cleared their throat.

Akari's head pops around her shoulder to look at Tenzin and Beifong who were equally stunned for an arrival of a spirit.

"Uhh... Hey. Umm... This is Akari. She a friend." Yira explained awkwardly. She was unsure what they would make of her.

"She's also a spirit." She adds giving Akari a good rub behind the ear. Akari let out a purr as she buries her head under Yira's armpit. She chuckles under her breath as she dug her fingers into her back, Akari shuddered with pleasure, a small massage was what she wanted.

"I can see that," Tenzin said faintly, looking at Akari in awe. Beifong was doing her best to not look so curious at her but as a cop, she knew there was some bad reason why a spirit would show up. And at a very convenient time too.

"Then why is she here. Spirits don't come to this world unless there's a problem." Beifong said crossing her arms. Akari slanted over to the two benders with curiously. Beifong stiffened as Akari came to about a foot away from her.

Akari's sharp blue eyes narrow as she examined Beifong up close, her tails whining around her slowly.

"Akari! Play nice!" Yira muttered in her ear after she walked up to them.

Akari swatted her shoulder playfully, breaking away the growing tension between them.

"Beifong is right though, Akari. Why are you here now? I saw you the other day in the spirit world. And it does seem a bit of a coincidence that your here after the black flames had been dealt with, I mean..."

Akari let out a few gruff sounds, which Yira nodded along with.

"I see... That makes sense." Yira nodded, her fingers under her chin in deep thought.

"What is she saying?" Tenzin said leaning forward excitedly.

"Well I can't actually understand what she's saying but I get the gist of what she means. I thinks that's the best way I can say it. Beside she more or less said that she could feel some dark energy around here. That why she came her in the first place. She didn't realise I was here and was happy to see me." Yira shrugged before returning to pet Akari again.

Tenzin nodded, doing he usual stroking his beard in deep thought.

"So, what exactly caused the fire." Yira said sticking her hands in her pocket as Akari wanders off to the small crater in the ground. Her nose twitching as she sniffed the ground intensely.

"From what we gather from Korra and Mako, the silver spirit did this." Tenzin said watching Akari playing in the ashes.

"Really? From what I've heard is that he stalks by night and has some funky bending tricks." Yira said sceptically crossing her.

"This isn't the first incident involving black fire. Over a month ago something happened in the park. Black flames were put out like any other fires. This one was different this time." Beifong scowled as the fire officer came up to them.

Yira didn't pay attention to what they were saying, her head suddenly felt weird. Like a dog whistle or a bison whistle beeping blown right next to her ears. And on top of that, the tingles on her arm felt...wrong. She couldn't describe it.

She couldn't help but gasp, clasping her hands to her ears in an effort to muffle the sound but to no avail.

"Yira? What is it?!" Tenzin said alarmed as he notices her odd behaviour.

"You can't hear it?" She said screwing her eyes shut.

"Hear what?"

"That sound! It's deafening" she bit her lip as the sound cranked up a level.

Yira vaguely felt her skin break as her teeth cut heard into her lip, the scent of blood that dribbled down her chin had no usual effect, it was like someone was bashing her head with a pipe.

Yira dropped to her knees, vertigo setting in, had her hands cradling her head in pain.

She could feel her heart hammering hard in her chest, as her fingers dug painfully into her skull.

Lights and flashes assault her vision.

"Sandfreak!"

"Go away! Freak!"

Voices upon voices echoed around her mind, making her grit her teeth.

"It's ok Sylvia. I'm not going to hurt you. Your safe here." A gentle voice spoke quietly.

A flash of green eyes and black hair of a man in front of her, a gentle smile played on his face. But that was gone as quickly as it came.

It took a second to realise it was Tenzin in front of her and who had shaken her out of whatever it was.

She tries to place where she might have seen him before, but she was drawing a blank. It was the way the man had said it had felt so calming and reassuring.

The pain in her head had dulled, "huh..." Was the only thing she let out.

She jumped as she felt Akari snout touch her ear.

"Has the pain gone?" He asked cautiously.

"I.. I.. Yes... I guess I just got overwhelmed from the spiritual energy around here." She stumbled out rubbing her temples.

Suddenly there was a deep rumble of a growl within the rubble of road.

"Akari please tell me that was your stomach." Yira moaned. Clearly annoyed by the turn out of the evening. Ironically episode 3 was supposed to be a straightforward two-day episode. Now she had had to deal with mission, black flames, Akari and now a new thing; to add to the list while Korra is off looking for Bolin.

Why can't she just have an ordinary episode for once?

From the pit of the ashes, red eyes shone from the darkness.

Back with Korra and Mako, they had lost the trail. Both were exhausted. Mako rubbed his eyes as Naga panted as she went, Korra glanced up at the sky as the dark night was now changing closer to dawn.

"We've been out all night, no sign of him" she commented wearily.

"We got to keep looking, but where?" He said tiredly. They had gone over Bolin's hang out places but there were no clues for them to follow and no tracks either.

Korea gasped as it occurs to her, her mind recalling her first day in R.C.

"I have an idea!" She said hopefully, tugging on Naga reins into the direction of the city park.

When they arrived, Naga and Pabu eagerly went to the fountain for a well-earned drink of water.

The duo slid off Naga back, Mako's legs ached from sitting on Naga for the long period of time. He sat down grumpily, stretching out his legs.

"The first day I got into town i ran into an Equalist protester, over there." She said pointing to a spot by the white fence that sectioned off the Park.

"And you think they'll know where Bolin is?"

"It's out only lead right now."

Mako nodded, his eyes scanning the park in front of him for any signs for a protester. Mako shifted as he tried to find a more comfortable position, but the floor was hard. Naga finished taking her drink trotted over to Korra, who gave her a big rub under the chin. She walked off from them to settle by a tree and flops down.

Korra got up from the fountain edge and sat up against the now sleep Naga. Korra beckoned him over in which he sat down next to her.

He relaxed slightly as he leaned into Naga's warm fur.

"It'll be morning soon." Korra said, "the protester could show up any minute, so keep your eyes open."

"Yeah. I'm on it." Mako grumbled, he glanced down at Korra, who was just as tired as he was. He quickly looked away as Korra looked his way.

"So,...why is Bolin running around with the triple threats anyway?" She asked.

"We...we use to do some work for them back in the day." Mako said looking away uncomfortably.

"What? Are you some kind of criminal?" Korra stiffened as she looked at him.

"No! I just ran numbers for them and stuff. We were orphans, out on the street, starving. I did what i had to do to survive and to protect my little brother."

Korea's eyes softened, "I'm sorry. It must have been really hard." She had always had someone looking after her. Her patent, Katara, even Tenzin. What would she have done if they were suddenly gone

Mako nodded and looked away.

"Can i ask...what happened to your parents?"

She felt him tense up beside her. Mako took in a deep and slowly exhaled before he answered.

"They were mugged by a fire bender, " he replied, his eyes staring hard into the past. "He cut them down right in front of me. I was eight."

Korra froze. Her eye widens as she looked at him.

"Mako..." She breathed, Mako tugged gently on his scarf.

"Bolin's the only family i have left. If anything ever happens to him..." He didn't finish the thought.

Korra watched him tig the scarf tighter as he folded himself into silence.

His brother is everything to him.

XxxxX

"EQUALITY NOW! EQUALITY NOW! WE WANT EQUALITY NOW!"

Korra jerked away from the booming voice of the protester. She yelped out in alarms as she realised that she was leaning up against Mako. Who like her had jumped away from her. His ears we're slightly pink from embarrassment.

"NON-BENDERS OF REPUBLIC CITY! AMON CALL YOU TO ACTION! TAKE BACK YOUR CITY! ITS TIME FOR-" the protester stops what he's shouting and gasps as he sees Korra marching up to him.

"It's you again! You cannot silence me Avatar!" He sneers but Korra was in no mood for his bullshit as she simply swipes the megaphone from his hands. It shatters into pieces on the floor.

"Shut your yapper and listen up! My friend got kidnapped by some chi-blockers. Where'd they take him?" She snapped angerly

"I have no idea what you're talking about!" He said defiantly, crossing his arms like a stroppy child.

"Oh, i think you do!" And with that she struck her heal hard into the ground, causing it to buckle and shake the table he was standing on. The man tumbled off and into a pile of propaganda flyers, that went flying in the air.

The protester immediately went to collect it all up from the floor. Mako grabbed one as it flew into his face, his eyes scanning it for clues.

"Witness the revelation." He read. "Tonight. Nine o'clock"

He walked over the guy, "what's this revelation?"

The protester glared up at him, "n-nothing that concerns the likes of you two." He resorted.

Korra leapt forward and snatched the man up by his collar. She lifted him up off the ground so that his feet dangled above the pavement, he struggled in her grasp.

"You better believe it concerns us. Spill it!"

"No one knows what the revelation is, and I have no idea what happened to your friend. But if he's a bender, then my bet is he's getting what's coming to him." He sneered defiantly.

"Where's it happening?" Mako demanded.

Just then, a loud shrill whistle rang out across the park. Korra turned to see two police officers running in their direction.

"Hey? What's going in over there?" One of them hollers.

"Help! The Avatar's oppressive us!" The protester cried out. Korra quickly dropped him and pulled Mako by the arm.

"Come on, I really don't have time to explain myself to Chief Beifong right now. Let's scram."

Mako bent down and shoved a few flyers into his pockets and took off running after Korra. With the both of them now on Naga they hit away from the park in record time.

Korra was grateful for not having an airship follow them this time.

XxxxxX

A while later after examining the leaflets more closely, Mako had been able to match up the pictures on the back of the flyers to a map. With timing and location, all they had to do is wait until nighttime.

It was a long day indeed. The stopped off at Yira's bakery for some food and Korra had given Tenzin a call. She could tell something was going on with him but had decided to ask at a later time. Probably when Bolin was safe and sound with them.

After the torturous hours of waiting it was finally nearing 9pm.

Mako was able to find a couple of ratty hats from a garbage bin and a coat for Korra to cover her water tribe outfit. He reluctantly handed over his scarf to cover her bright blue vest that peaked through the coat's v neck. Mako turned up the collar of his jacket and pulled his cap down to avoid anyone recognizing him.

It became clear as they walked in the direction of the industrial section that it would be held in a factory. Evenly they began to follow small couples who were also headed for the revelation too.

As they walked towards the entrance, they noticed a buff guy at the door. A guard.

Korra took Mako's arm and drew him close, she felt him stiffen in surprise.

"What are you doing?" He whispered; his eyes glowing hot.

"Well attract less attention this way. Just play along." She muttered quietly, out of earshot as a man walked past them.

"This is a private event. No one get in without an invitation." The thug said crossing his arms as he looks at the two of them suspiciously.

"Uh... Invitation?" Korra asked innocently. Mako's eyes widen for a fraction but his hand darts to his pocket to retrieve a copy of the flyer and presented it to the guard.

"You mean this?" Mako said plastering a fake smile on his face. The thug took it from him with a smile growing on his normal him face, he stepped aside to allow them past.

"The revelation is upon us, my brother and sister."

As they walked down the hall, they let out a breath of relief. Following the people in front of them they evenly got to the main area which was pack up to wall by wall with people.

Korra gave a scrutinized look at the huge propaganda poster at the far end of the warehouse where a stage had been set up.

"I knew a lot of people hates benders, but I've never seen so many in one place."

Their feet banking clunky sounds as the descend down the stairs, but it was drowned out by the cheers from the crowds.

"Kee your eyes peeled for Bolin" Mako whispered as the manoeuvre through the crowds, closer to the stage.

Suddenly, the factory lights dimmed as smile began to billow across the stage. Spotlights beamed down to the centre of the stage, caving a shaft of light in the smoke. The crowd's cheer even louder than before as a cloaked figure emerged into the spotlight.

It was Amon.

And this is part two complete.

If anyone is wondering I do have the books of the first season on avatar, it helps me with the dialog and what would be running through their heads. So credit goes to them.

Originally I was going to this as a simple chapter but ideas kept popping into my head and it got longer and longer.

Have a Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it. And happy new year!
