Letting out a sigh of relief Weiss wipes sweat from her brow. She just defeated a Grimm possessing a giant suit of armour. It took all her skill to take down and her Aura is almost gone. Good thing her past training heightens her reflexes to block a surprise punch from the knight. Though it did took a good chunk of her aura. "How do you like that?" Weiss said to her father's secretary who's currently in an observation room. She drinks a high potion to get her Aura to the max.
"That was impressive but your father set up one more challenge," the secretary said and makes a motion to one of the workers in the observation room with him. The door where the Grimm Weiss fought slowly opens again. The sounds of the alarm are starting to bother Weiss is shocked to see none other them Lightning walking out with Gunblade in hand. She's wearing a white prince outfit, it included icy blue epaulettes on the shoulder of the jacket and around her neck is a royal blue cravat. What drew Weiss' attention is the black Grimm mask on the face. The eye slots are glowing red and on the forehead is the SDC symbol.
"What is the meaning of this?" Weiss asked in horror.
The secretary smiles and adjusted his glasses, "It's the newest innovation from our marvellous company. A mind-control device that puts filthy animals like her under control,"
"Does General Inronwodd know about this?" Weiss asked with venom in her tone.
"Heavens no! If he found out we made this he'll have us destroy the masks and get rid of all of our hard work. Marvellous is it not?" the secretary asked but Weiss didn't respond and only shot him a glare. So he decides to tell her one more thing about the mask "That Faunas not only follows our commands but yours as well," Weiss' eyes widen when she heard that. "That's right, she's not only our slave but yours. A parting gift from your father,"
"I'm already a slave," in stunned surprise everyone turns to Lightning who's emitting a black mist. Casually, Lightning takes off the mask, "To Darkness,"
"Impossible! That mask is working perfectly!" the secretary said with rage.
Lightning smiles, "How easy you were fooled,"
"I expected more of you Lightning. Submitting yourself to Darkness to gain more power," Weiss said with a hard stare.
Turning her Gunblade to rifle mode Lightning points the muzzle at the observation room. Before Weiss can do anything Lightning shoots a large fireball at the secretary. The large explosion causes Weiss to cover herself with her arms. From out of the flames and smoke is burnt bills of money, "Well what do you know, they were made out of money," Lightning said catching of them and crushes the bill in her hand.
"You didn't have to kill them," Weiss growls.
"Please, our dear father will have them replaced within a week," Lightning said with a shrug.
"Father?" Weiss asked confused.
With a smile, Lightning turns around Lightning points at her back which has the Schnee family crest on it. "When I was under their mind control, your father adopted me. So I'm Lightning Schnee now but I'm still using Farron as my last name," Lightning looks over her shoulder with an evil grin on her face, "You know what they say; keep your friends close but your enemies closer,"
"He's making a mistake," Weiss snarls.
"Maybe but it's a benefit for me," Lightning said.
"You're after my title aren't you?" Weiss asked with a glare.
Lightning scoffs, "Why would I need a worthless like that?" she takes out a Scroll and pushes some buttons. The Virtual Reality system in the room activates and the girls find themselves on top of a building. Weiss can tell this is Atlas at night and they are top of one of SDC building if the symbol on the floor is anything to go by.
Weiss gets into a fighting stance when Lightning summons two spectral Gunblades that turn into rifle mode. They fire fast beams at Weiss who can evade it but is quickly upon her with fast slashes. Weiss can block them however Lightning is not letting up and is not showing any openings.
So, for now, Weiss has to play defensively. Lightning suddenly vanishes and reappears in the air. She's floating thanks to her Keyblade Glider. Lightning calls for her spectral Gunblades again and switches her Gunblade to rifle mode. Weiss now has to evade one more red lasers. She's glad she took those acrobatic classes.
Weiss is also lucky that at the moment, Lightning can only have two laser-firing spectral Gunblades at a time. Tho it is trick evading three fast-moving laser beams. One of them nicks Weiss at her side. She winces because it burns like hell but Weiss has to endure it as the fight against Lightning is still on.
The lasers finally stop but Weiss is surrounded by spectral Gunblades in sword mode. They spin around her. Weiss an ice barrier to protect her from the incoming Gunblades. In the meantime holds her Gunblade in a reverse grip and is charging her darkness into the blade. Once fully charged, Lightning swings her Gunblade. Sending a black shockwave at Weiss.
When it hits a large chunk is taken out of Weiss' ice barrier. Seeing the opening Lightning teleports close to Weiss and swings her Gunblade fast at Weiss. Who can block the slashes but didn't expect a kick. Weiss gasps as Myrtenaster is is knocked out of her hand and is launched high into the air.
Lightning flys to it and grabs it. She lands on the ground and sheathes her Gunblade and dismisses her Keyblade Glider. Putting her hand on the blade uses all the Red Dust to coat Myrtenaster in flames. Lightning dashes at Weiss and swings the rapier who is angered that Lightning is using her weapon the wrong way. Weiss evades the slashes but is narrowly hit by the trail of flames.
Once all the Red Dust is used up switch to White Dust and stabs Myrtenaster to make a whirlwind. This is something Weiss can't dodge as she is caught up in the wind. All she can do is put her arms up to shield herself. When all the White Dust is used up the wind dies down and Weiss lands on the ground hard.
When Weiss gets up is horrified to see Lightning use Yellow Dust. Because that Dust is very compatible with Lightning. Pointing Myrtenaster up in the air bolts of lightning shoot up into the air. Weiss hears rumbling in the clouds and bolts of lightning rain down. Knowing she can't dodge those bolts uses a glyph to shield herself. It's a good thing she didn't use the high-grade Dust.
Weiss keeps her glyph shield up because Lightning is using Blue Dust next. She turns Myrtenaster into an ice spear and throws it at Weiss. The ice spear pierces Weiss glyph shield but thankfully she evades it at the last moment. Weiss didn't take her sword back until Lightning lets out a breath and reloads her Axis Blade Gunblade.
Weiss quickly checks how much Dust is left in Myrtenaster. Turns out, it's not a lot. She has to be careful because she used a lot of her Aura on that shield. Also, all that dodging is wearing her out.
"You know Weiss, that strive for perfection you have is downright pathetic," Lightning smiles and shakes her head.
Seething with anger Weiss attacks but Lightning deflects it with her gunblade and slashes at Weiss's face. She cries out in pain and holds the spot where Lightning attacked in an attempt to stop the bleeding. "That will leave a mark," Lightning laughs and turns off the VR system. "Defeating you is starting to get dull and not worth my time anymore, heal your wounds Weiss get strong. Then I'll fight you again once you get stronger." Lightning said and a dark portal opens behind her and she turns to it and walks into it.
Leaving Weiss to mend her wounded pride.

In a barren wasteland, a person on a hooded black coat is overlooking scores of old, rusty Keyblades. He soon wasn't alone as another person is approaching him. They are wearing the same black coat as he is. The person looks about Ruby's hight. When they got close pulls down their hood, revealing to be a young Lightning. "So?" the hooded man said looking over his shoulder.
"It's as you said, the Grimm can't sense me with this on. With it, my trip around the world with Master Raven went smoothly," Lightning said looking at her gloved hand.
"I did tell you it will," the man said and turn around to face Lightning. He pulls down his hood and reveals to be a man named Xemnas, "Speaking of the world tour, how did it go? Fruitfull I hope,"
Lightning nods "It was rocky had to use this a couple of times," she raises her hand in front of her and summons a jet black Keyblade. Then lowers it to her side, "Other than that it was a real learning experience for me," Lightning's voice become dark, "This world is full of weaklings and liars,"
"How so?" Xemnas asked.
Lightning motions to her Keyblade with her head, "Do you know how many times people tried to take my Keyblade from me. They spend so much energy on stealing my power without making their own!" she raises her Keyblade again "I earned this!"
Xemnas nods, "Indeed you did but can't blame them for wanting your Keyblade. It's the weapon for taking out the Grimm."
"Yeah but there are other methods of killing Grimm," Lightning said.
"There is but Keyblades are the easy way. Well, it was," Xemnas the man then looks at the countless Keyblades around them. Suddenly the man gets an idea, "I'm going to ask you how each Kingdom in Remnant is weak in their way, starting with the easy one. Atlas,"
"They over-rely on technology. Sure, they have a powerful military but most of their soldiers are robots," Lighting began, "All it takes to defeat them is for a hacker to get into the program and turn them against the army," she points out.
"Surely they will have defences against such threats," Xemnas said.
"Not likely, humans are prideful in believing that the things they do, the things they make won't be hacked by an outside source," Lightning said.
Xemnas smiles and motions to Lightning to walk with him. "Mistral,"
"It's so easy to exploit their desire for money," Lightning began "Pay them enough and they'll turn on their allies. Something Master Raven exploited during our stay at Mistral. She told me money is only a tool, not a source of strength. Something Mistral whether they be high or low class will never understand,"
Xemnas chuckles. "Vacuo,"
Lightning frowns, "I hate that hot place." she glares at Xemans when he starts to chuckle again but answers his question about Vacuo. "Years ago they were strong enough to push two Kingdoms out of their territory but that strength is lost,"
"And lastly, Vale, how are they weak?" Xemnas asked.
"They're cowards. Too afraid to leave their shield mother nature made for them. They try to expand but it failed. Since then they haven't tried again. Mountain Glenn reminds me too much of my home," Lightning said.
"That's why we have you train there," Xemnas smiles. Earning a glare from Lightning who then sighs.
"During my travels with Master Raven, I saw something that is repeated in every Kingdom," Lightning said.
"What that will be?" Xemnas asked.
"Whenever the weak steal power from the strong they always have some lame excuse that they deserve it. Their sheep trying to be wolves and I find it insulting," Lightning grow. "Power is earned, not given to you on a silver plater," she looks at her hand then clenches it. "Once my two years of training and the Mark of Mastery Exam is over, my revenge can begin."
"Not quite, you still have a role to play in the clash between the 13 darknesses and 7 lights. Once we are victorious you can follow your own goals," Xemnas said.
"What makes you so sure that we will win?" Lightning asked and puts a hand on her hip.
"It was foretold just as it's foretold you and the Yamato will be reunited," Xemnas said and Lightning is shocked to hear that.
Present Day
Sitting on her throne Lightning chuckles. "What's so funny?" Tifa asked. She, Aqua and Yuna just finished putting on their black coats.
"Just remembering the past," Lightning said and looks at the Yamato in her hand.
"Why aren't you wearing the black coat?" Yuna asked.
"That's because I don't need it. I'm strong enough without it," to prove her point, lets her darkness flare out of her body. Aqua, Yuna, and Tifa feels a lot of pressure and is shaken to the core. To them, it feels like they are staring into the blackest void.
"Looks like those 7 years of training is starting to pay off. The scars in your heart have made you strong my apprentice," Raven said and pulls up her hood then takes out he scroll. "They reached the relics and are in the middle of fighting Grimm,"
"Let us not delay then. We don't want the Grimm to soften Ruby and the other too much," Lightning said and gets off her throne. Takes off the jacket she's wearing and puts on the white cloak Ruby left behind. "Now, let's finish that fight Weiss stared," Lightning said and puts on the hood. She takes the Buster Sword and gives it to Tifa.
"Why are you giving it to me?" Tifa asked in confusion.
"Because there's a rule in Beacon that you must have a weapon with you," Lightning explains, "And that sword can help your darkness grow as it once belongs to the one you hate,"
Tifa picks up the scent on the Buster Sword. "So it does," Tifa growls.
Raven makes a portal, "Let's go, your opponents await,"
A/N: Get psyched for the next chapter because it is Team RWBY vs Team LAYT! For 2020, I plan to finish volume one of this story. What do you think of Lightning's views on the Kingdoms? Is she valid?
