Hello, everyone! as promised the final installment of this story, can I just say that it's been one hell of a ride! I want thank all of you who stuck around and gave suggestions and left comments I appreciate and love you all! Now before I start D2 I'm re-watching the movie as well so, the new story probably won't be out of a while. When it is I hope you like it just as much as this story! Okay I'm done talking on with the final chapter, enjoy!
Chapter 20 Conflicts & Decisions
"Oh my goodness Nathaniel!" Queen Tiana says as she and King Naveen make their way over to their son. Evie, Carlos and I run over to where The King, Queen and Princess, all kneel around the young prince.
"That muffin it had peanuts in it!" Tasha says and she reaches into her purse and pulls out a pen and jabs in in his arm. His breathing was hoarse and his head sweating. The family looked relived.
"Jay can you help me get Nate to his room?" Tasha asks. Without a word he picks up the small boy and takes him to his room. When they arrive Tasha opens the door and pulls back the covers Jay then places the Nate in his bed. Tasha pulls the covers up to his neck.
"Tasha is he going to be okay?" Evie asks. Jay turns around to see his friends and Ben in the room as well.
"He will be. I'm just glad that I was there." Tasha says not looking at anyone, but her brother.
"Tasha I didn't mean for this to happen." Mal says.
"Maybe you didn't, but it did. What on earth caused you to be so careless?" Tasha asks.
"I-I have so much going on now that I'm dating Ben, that I just haven't had a minute to breathe."
"Really? That's your excuse?" Tasha says.
"It's not an excuse." Ben says.
"Of course not Ben, but it's not a valid reason either!" Tasha say.
"Look your brother is fine, no harm done." Mal says.
"Mal." Evie says a look of shock on her face.
"What it's not like no one was there to give him his meds." Mal says.
"And that makes it okay to just shrug off that you could have killed my brother had I not been able to give him is EPIPEN?!" Tasha says.
"Tasha I know you are upset, but he's alright now." Ben says. Before she can say another word Nate begins to shake.
"What's happening?" Carlos asks.
"It's magic." Tasha says then swiftly turns to Mal. "What spell did you use to make those muffins?"
"Just a simple baking spell, I was in a rush." Mal says.
"Tasha can you try a different spell to counter this one?" Jay asks.
"In order to do that I need to know exactly what spell she used." Tasha says.
"Mal what spell did you use?" Evie asks in a calm voice.
"I can't remember, but I can fix this." Mal says as she steps in front of Nate. Reverse the spell that last cast so that he will be healed fast. Nate sits up fast then falls back against his pillow. Tasha moves Mal away from her brother and fells his head.
"What did you just do?!" Tasha asks.
"I healed him, your welcome." Mal says simply.
"Then why is he not waking up?" Carlos asks. We all look at Nate to see that he's not moving.
"He'll be fine in the morning." Mal says.
"Dat's w'at you think? Oh sugah, you cou'd be anym'ro wrong." We look to the door to see a woman in white with shades on her eyes and a snake around her neck.
"Mama Odie." Tasha says. But the woman isn't listening as she takes her snake and uses it as a stick. She then stands over Nate and waves her hands over him.
"He's not gonna wake up tom'row or for a'hile." Mama Odie says.
"So, he's in a coma?" Tasha asks.
"Mmhm, and since he don and had two spells cast on h'm he's gonna be like dis." Mama Odie says.
"For how long?" Tasha asks.
"Dat ch'ld, I don kn'w." Mama Odie says sadly. "But, he be okay, don you worry." Mama Odie says and pats her arm.
"See problem solved." Mal says.
"Are you kiddin' me? Your the reason he's like this to begin with!" Tasha says.
"Tasha please try and calm down." Ben says.
"I will calm down when you realize that spelling someone just to get out of doing actual work is not okay! I can't believe your defending her." Tasha says.
"He's going to be okay that is what matters." Ben says.
"And he still would have been fine if she hadn't gave him a muffin know good and well that he was allergic." Tasha says. "Leave. It's clear that she means more to you then the overall health of my brother."
"Tasha-" Ben starts.
"No, I don't want to hear it right now. And it's even clearer that she's not sorry otherwise she would have said so. Just leave and take her with you." Tasha says.
"Tasha I'm sorry." Ben says.
"Your apology means nothing, because now I have to tell my parents that their son will not be waking up for awhile." Tasha says.
"Please-" Ben tries.
"Ben I think you should just go, please." Evie says. Ben sighs taking one last look at Tasha before he and Mal leave the room.
"Hmm, dat girl needs ta dig a'ittle deeper. Or she gonna have s'me real p'oblems." Mama Odie says.
"Evie Carlos if you want to go with them." Jay starts, but sees Evie shaking her head.
"Were staying." Evie says then she walks over to Tasha and gives her a hug. Carlos does the same and just as Jay walks over to her she gets up and wipes her tears that he didn't know she had. Then she walks towards the door and we follow her. We find her parents talking to Aziz, Jay totally forgot about his brother being here.
Tiana notices her daughters face and walks over to her she leads her mother away and soon after Naveen follows. Before Carlos, Evie, and I can do so too my brother calls me.
"Jay what's going on? Why does this party look so depressing?" Aziz asks.
"Long story short, Mal made some muffins with peanuts in them using magic which cause Nate to have a reaction. Then he was given his medicine and then Mal spelled him and now he's in a coma and we don't know when he'll wake up." Evie says.
"Wait, what she spelled him?" Aziz asks.
"Yup, and we wanted to give Tasha some moral support for when she told her parents, but you stopped us." Carlos says.
"Carlos." Evie says.
"I'm sorry. I just couldn't find you when I arrived and then I saw you guys practically running after Tasha I just wanted to know what was happening."
"Don't worry about it." Jay says just as Tasha and her parents reappear. They run over to them just as her parents leave.
"Tasha talk to me what's happen?" Jay asks and takes her into his arms.
"They are goin' to see my brother Momma and Daddy asked me to send everyone home." Tasha says.
"Hey, don't you worry about that we'll take care of it." Aziz says.
"Thank you so much." Tasha says. Jay just hugs her tighter.
"Just leave it to us." Evie says as she and Carlos follow Aziz.
"Come on, lets go back to Nate's room." Jay says.
Tasha nods into his chest and they walk back with his arm around her waist the entire way. When they arrive they open the door to see Tiana in tears and Naveen holding his wife as the looks at his son with a sad and angered expression on his face. They decide to leave and come back later so Jay walks her to her room. They sit on her bed and he holds her listening to her silent sobs. Someone knocks on the door then enters. It's Mama Odie.
"Babycakes he's gonna be al'ght." Mama Odie says.
"I know Mama Odie, I'm just upset." Tasha says.
"And you have every right to be." Jay says wiping away the tears.
"You gotta good one. He'll be dar for you." Mama Odie says. "But dars someth'ng sat he needs." She says.
"And what's th-" Jay is cut off.
"Juju!" Mama Odie says. The snake Jay guess that's its name comes out of nowhere and hands her a vile. She holds it out for him. "Give dis to your Daddy it'll help 'em feel betta." She says. Jay looks skeptical.
"Jay take it, she would be givin' it to you if she didn't mean what she said." Tasha says.
Jay takes the vile and places it in his pocket. "Thank you." Jay says.
"Your we'come. Your Daddy is a lovin' man he didn't deserve dat. Mirage is a sneaky one." Mama Odie says shaking her head. "Why don you get some rest, you can see your bro'her later." Mama Odie says and then she leaves. Jay releases Tasha and gets up.
"I'll be right back." Jay says. He then leaves and finds his brother about to leave. "Aziz, wait!" Jay says running to catch up to him. "Jay what's wrong?" Aziz asks. "Give this to Dad." Jay says taking the vile out of his pocket and hands it to his brother. "What is this?" Aziz asks. "Look all I know is that it will help Dad get better. Mama Odie gave it to me." Jay says. "Alright. Are you coming home?" Aziz asks. "No, I need to stay with Tasha." Jay says. "Okay, I'll tell Mom and Dad. Take care of her little brother." Aziz says. Jay nods as Aziz makes his way out of the Castle. Jay see Evie and Carlos on his way back to Tasha's room.
"Jay how is she?" Evie asks.
"Not good, but what do you expect?" Jay asks.
"Well were not leaving." Evie says. Jay wants to say something but Evie stops him. "No, were staying she's our friend a lot of the pain she has is because of us." Evie says.
"Plus she would do the same for us." Carlos says.
"Fine, just don't overwhelm her she's getting some rest right now." Jay says crossing his arms.
"Then we ask Queen Tiana and King Naveen if we can use one of the guest room and wait till she wakes up. In the meantime you go and be with your girlfriend." Evie says. Jay gives her a hug and pats Carlos on the back then continues on to Tasha's room. When he quietly opens and closes the door he see her under the covers and peacefully asleep. He quietly makes his way over and brushes her hair out of her face.
"Sleep with me, I don't want to be alone right now." Tasha says her eyes still closed. Jay sees how vulnerable she is and he takes off his shoes and climbs in the bed with her. He wraps his arms around her waist and the drift off into a peaceful sleep.
Several hours later they both wake up with a start at the knock at her door.
"Come in." Tasha says sleepily. The door opens to reveal one of her guards.
"Forgive me your highness, but something has come up." The guard say.
"What is it, Thomas?" Tasha asks sitting up Jay does the same. "The shipments that have been sent to the Isle are only being sent to one side." Thomas says. "What do you mean? The shipments are supposed to be sent to both sides." Tasha says. "Yes, your highness, but they are not be sent there." Thomas says. "Give me the shipping papers." Tasha says. Wordlessly Thomas hands her the papers she skims over it and then flips to the map that show which side is getting the shipments.
"Hey that's our old turf." Jay says.
"You mean when you were on the Isle this is the side you would be on?" Tasha asks point to the gray area on the map. "Yeah we would always be on this side unless we wanted to cause chaos on this side of the Isle which is the Pirates turf." Jays says as he moves his finger from his side to the pirate side.
"Thomas can you explain why the shipments are only being sent to one side?" Tasha asks. "Yes, your highness, it is the doing of Maleficent's daughter." Thomas says.
"What, Mal wouldn't do that." Jay says.
"I'm sorry your highness, but the royal guards who have been going with the shipments can confirm that Mal has been in charge since her highness was kidnapped and then badly injured." Thomas says.
"And nobody had the sense to come to me about this?!" Tasha asks pulling the cover off her and getting out of bed, Jay follows suit.
"I'm sorry your highness, I had only been informed of this just now." Thomas says bowing in apology.
"Now she has gone to far! This was my plan, she had no right to take over she's not even a lady yet! How dare she!" Tasha says.
"Maybe she wanted to help because she felt bad about what had happened to you." Jay says trying to calm her down. "Jay, she took my operation for her own gain! You said so yourself that area is your turf, which means the other half of the Isle has been starving for months!" Tasha says. "Look what she did was wrong." Jay says. "Yes it was. Who is in control of the other side of the Isle?" Tasha asks. "Uma, she's Ursula's daughter, and Mal's enemy." Jay says. "So, this feud has happened for how long?" Tasha asks. "Since the day Mal dropped a bucket of shrimp on her head when we were kids." Jay says. "What?" Tasha says. "Long story short, Mal and Uma used to be best friends, but Ursula and Maleficent didn't like that. And Mal always wanting to please her mom did what I just said. Now they are rival enemies." Jay says. "So, doesn't that make her your enemy to?" Tasha asks. "Yes and no because I personally don't have a problem with Uma, it's Harry that's my problem. That's a story for another time. What are you going to do?" Jay asks. "First thing tomorrow I'm going to have a chat with Mal and Ben." Tasha says. Then she turns to Thomas who has heard all they had said.
"Thomas your dismissed, leave the papers." Thomas bows and leaves closing the door behind him.
Tasha grabs the papers from her bed and places them on her table. She lets out a frustrated sigh. Then she gets back into bed Jay gets in on the other side and wraps his arms around her. She turns with her back facing him Jay sighs, but doesn't let her go.
The next morning…
Jay wakes up by Tasha moving around the room. When she notices him she tosses clothes on the bed.
"Get dressed we will be leaving after breakfast." Tasha says as she leaves her room papers in hand. Jay gets out of her bed and goes to her bathroom he takes a quick shower then gets dressed he leaves the room and makes his way to the dining room Evie and Carlos are already there.
"Jay Tasha told us what happen and were coming with you." Evie says.
"Yeah, I can't believe Mal would do this." Carlos says while holding Dude.
"I didn't want to believe it, but the proof is there." Jay says shaking his head. He grabs an apple and biscuit. Tasha comes in and they don't wait they follow her out of the dinning room and to the entrance. They all pile in her limo and then they head to Auradon Prep. The whole ride there is in complete silence. Once they arrive they all get out and head straight to Ben's office.
"Oh, hello everyone, um this isn't a really good time." Ben says Tasha wastes no time snapping her fingers and putting whoever Ben was talking to on hold and also making Mal appear as well.
"Wha- Hey!" Mal says then looks around the room.
"What is going on?" Ben asks going over to Mal.
"I'll tell you, Mal here has taken it upon herself to take care of my operation and not even notifying me of doing so!" Tasha says.
"You were not going back to the Isle, I was doing you a favor." Mal says.
"Oh, yes, by just making sure your side of the Isle got all the food and not the other." Tasha says.
"Mal what is she talking about?" Ben asks.
"Oh, you didn't tell him? Why am I not surprised." Tasha rolls her eyes and hands Ben the papers.
"The proof is right there." Tasha says.
"Mal how could you do this?" Ben asks
"I was doing it for her." Mal says looking at Tasha.
"No, you weren't." Jay says.
"Look Mal, the Isle stopped being your problem the minute y'all crossed that bridge. I put in the time and effort to help the Isle while spent your time playin' us and plottin' while eattin' strawberries. You do not have the right to mess with somethin' that I created!" Tasha says.
"But, she was helping while you recovered." Ben says.
"You can be in denial all you want Ben, but you hold the proof in your hands. Besides if she was really helpin' me then why is only one side of the Isle being fed?" Tasha asks.
"There isn't that side has enough food." Mal says.
"M, what have you done?" Evie asks.
"I did it for our old turf." Mal says simply.
"So, Uma has nothing to do with this?" Tasha asks. Mal's eyes widen.
"Who is Uma?" Ben asks.
"Oh, I guess theirs another thing she didn't tell you. There are two sides one run by Mal and the other by Uma." Tasha says.
"Jay what all did you tell her?" Mal sneers.
"Tasha is my girlfriend, I'm not going to lie to her like you have with Ben." Jay says.
"So, that's what it is she has you wrapped around her finger." Mal says.
"No, Jay is free to do as he pleases, sad to say, but Ben was easily manipulated by you, and he doesn't even know the real you." Tasha says.
"You can't talk about me like that!" Mal says her eyes glowing green.
"You don't scare me, you have only had months of practice with magic, I've had years." Tasha says.
"Whatever Ben won't let you hurt me I'm his girlfriend." Mal says.
"Yes, but your not a lady yet either. And even if you were my status still out ranks you." Tasha says. Mal laughs.
"That's what you think. Change her mind and make it-" Mal's spell is cut off by Evie, Carlos and I getting in the middle of them.
"Mal that's enough!" Evie says.
"Yeah you chose good remember?" Carlos says.
"Tasha please don't do this." Jay says.
"I wasn't gonna hurt her, unlike Mal I have class and I know place. She has to learn hers." Tasha says and takes the papers from a stunned Ben. "If she tries to take over my operation again I won't hesitate to stop her, and Ben you know I mean that." Tasha says then she leaves. Jay follows her not caring that Mal is glaring at his back.
"Hey are you okay?" Jay asks when he finally catches up to her. "Yes, I wish that would have gone differently, but she's just so stubborn!" Tasha says. "Well, yeah, but so are you. Not that that's a bad thing." Jay says holding his hands up when she glares at him. "Hmm, but the difference is I use that to make change, she uses it to get what she wants." Tasha says. "So, what now?" Jay asks. "Well, if I'm honest I can't do anythin' about the shipments until the month is done, but that's not gonna stop me from sending Uma's side care packages." Tasha says. "Of course not." Jay says.
Two weeks later…
"So, Jay are you ready for classes?" Tasha asks in the limo as they ride to Auradon Prep. "Yes and no." Jay says. "Is that it?" Tasha says. "Yes, because I'm starting off fresh as a prince. No because of all the new responsibilities that I have." Jay says. "Well, whatever happens this year we face it together." Tasha says. "That's something I can agree with." Jay says with his signature smirk. "Don't get too soft on me now." Tasha teases. "Not happening, babe." Jays says.
They pull up at the entrance to school with new classes and challenges ahead of them they plan to take it on in stride nothing is gonna ruin this year.
