JR- guess who is updating?! After 4 long years . I have returned! I started a new story on Rey and Kylo Ren in the star wars fandom. I came back to reread my stories on sessh and kag... I thought, I've got to finish this one. I had so many ideas!

I'm no longer in school, I have married and had a baby! The reason why I dropped off the side of the world was that my exfiance passed away. I just couldn't bear to write again. But... life goes on.

Forgive me! I'm writing with my cellphone so there might be typos!

Marbled Marvels

"Are we really doing this?" Kagome asked from the passenger seat of his car. She found the situation incredibly unfair- for him. He had no ties to her and yet, he was willing to help her as if he truly was the father of her unborn baby.

Sesshoumaru shrugged, unfazed by her question. "Your current state of health concerns me, Miss Higurashi. Quite frankly, I am appalled you aren't more concerned."

She downcasted her eyes, looking at her feet. That's the problem. She saw her health deteriorating- her body growing frail, her nails and hair dry and brittle, her eyes looked as if life is draining away day by day. She couldn't control it, much like the situation at hand.

"Forgive me, I... didn't mean to admonish you," he offered, breaking the tense silence in the car. They were nearly to his estate. It wouldn't bold well to bring back an agitated, solemn, pregnant female. Human or not.

"It's ok. It's not like you're wrong. I see my failing health, but I just don't know what to do. Or who to ask for help," she whispered, dejected. The car stopped in front of a black iron gate. A large emblem of the letter 'T' was proudly centered in the middle.

She watched Sesshoumaru cast a man at the gates an aloof glare- curious to know why they are at a checkpoint. The man scrambled to the adjacent gatehouse and quickly buzzed the iron bars open.

"My apologies for the delay, sir." The man bowed respectfully.

Sesshoumaru nodded briefly and continued down the tree adorned path.

Kagome fidgeted with her fingers on her lap, nervous st her companion's behavior. He seemed annoyed almost. His jaw was clenched, his arm closest to the window was propped up against it, his hand was pressed the other side of his face.

"You could've asked me." His sudden words made Kagome jump in her seat.

"H-huh?" She stammered, momentarily lost.

He sighed. "Miss Higurashi, you could've called me and asked for assistance just as you did when you asked to join you for a meal."

Oh. That's what he meant. "I know," she whispered. "I didn't want to be a bother."

"If I thought of you as a bother, I wouldn't have gone as far as I did," he all but grounded out through restrained frustration. He stopped the car, and let himself out.

Kagome was to enraptured over finding an explanation, she failed to notice that they have arrived to their destination.

He opened the her car door, patiently waiting for her to step out. Kagome didn't move, still dazed in her thoughts. With measured patience, he reached down and unlatched her seatbelt and grasped her hand in his.

"Come, Kagome. We've arrived," he tug gently on her hand, motioning for her to follow his suit.

"Oh! I'm sorry. Silly m-," her voice caught in her throat. She had stepped out of the car and looked at the environment around her. She was baffled.

Utterly, completely baffled.

Before her, stood a pristine three story mansion with pillars carved of marble. The stairs on which his staff stood in greeting, were marble. The exterior of the building itself, was covered in marble. Just how ridiculously rich is he?

"Holy marble," she whispered, awestruck. "You're like... the marble man."

At that comment, Sesshoumaru's lips tilted with a smirk.
