Episode 22: So...What Now?
"Last time on Super Smash Island," Sakurai said, "Cloud and Captain Falcon, the finalists, were put to the test with their final challenge. With everyone watching, it was a close fight, but in the end, Cloud won the money. Today is everyone's last day before they head home. I decided that for their last day, I'd throw them one big party before they go home….or are they? Find what happens on this very special episode of Super...Smash...Island!"
Cue intro
We begin with everyone having a party and just having fun. Some were busy dancing, others were eating (Especially Kirby), and some of the couples were busy making out. Others, like Marth, Mario, and Robin were sitting away from the others (Robin was only far away just so he could read in peace). Crazy Hand was cooking some good food (for once) on the grill.
"After all he's put us through, Sakurai sure knows how to throw a party." Fox said.
"I know, right?" Pit said, "After what we had to go through, this is nice."
"It is great to have this time to relax before we all go back to our normal lives." Ryu said.
"Speaking of which," Link said, "what are you guys planning to do when you get back home?"
"Well, I got a fight coming up soon." Mac said, "You should come and watch it, Samus."
"That actually sounds like a fun idea." Samus said.
"Yeah! I can introduce you to Doc while I'm at it. He'll like you." Mac said.
"Man, think of all the paperwork I'm going to have waiting for me when I get back." Isabelle said.
"Well, I'd be glad to help you with it." Waluigi said.
"Aww, that's so sweet of you." Isabelle said.
"What can i say? You've helped me out so much. And now we have each other."
"It will be weird going back to how things used to be." Rosalina said.
"Yeah, but I won't miss a lot of this. No more insane challenges." Ness said.
"No more alliances, backstabbing, or surprises." Falcon added.
"Geez, Kirby! Slow down on the food!" Sonic said.
While he's saying this, Kirby finishes off a whole plate of marshmallows.
"Sorry about that. I'm just really hungry." Kirby said.
"Yeah, he's probably got a pocket dimension in him or something." Ness said.
"Actually, I do." Kirby said, "It's a limitless void that can never be satisfied. Nothing ever even gets digested, so everything and EVERYONE I eat will just float around in my tummy forever."
He then goes back to stuffing his face while some of them seem startled at what he said.
"Remind me to never get on Kirby's bad side." Pit said.
"So, Cloud, what are you planning on using the money for?" DK asked.
"You know what? I haven't really thought of that part." Cloud said, "I guess I can take Peach and I on a trip. Maybe to Hawaii. What do you think?"
"You don't have to spend it on me." Peach said, "You worked hard for it. Use it for you."
"That's what I want to use it for." He said, "We could go on a nice vacation. Just the two of us. It just wouldn't feel right to use it all on myself."
"Nothing wrong with that." Falcon said, "Do with it what you want. As long as you're happy, go for it!"
We then see Little Mac, Lucina, Luigi, and Captain Falcon head over to where Marth, Mario, and Robin are.
"Hmph. What do you guys want?" Marth said.
"Well," Mac said, "we brought you guys some food. Figured you'd want something to eat before Kirby eats it all. It's not fun to just sit around at this party and do nothing."
"Thanks, but no thanks." Robin said, "I'm fine right here."
"And I'm not accepting anything from you guys." Mario said.
"Come on, bro. Just let loose and have fun." Luigi said.
"Well, I am not in a fun mood." Marth said.
"Hey, we were just trying to be nice." Lucina said.
"Well here's something nice you could do: Take that food, and give it to someone who actually gives a rat's ass! So scram!" Marth yelled.
"Alright, then! Fine!" Mac said, "So much for that. Let's just leave them to wallow in self pity."
Then they walk away from them, and back to the others.
"At least Robin was the only one who didn't act like a jackass." Falcon said.
"I guess that's how they are." Mac said, "Some people never change."
"So I guess that's a no on trying to make friends with them?" Samus asked.
"Afraid not." Luigi said.
"Don't see why you would. You're wasting your time with them." Zelda said.
"Well, don't let all that get to you guys. Let's just get back to enjoying this party!"
They all look cheer in agreement and go back to partying. That is, until they see Sakurai walk in, and suddenly the music stops.
"Glad to see you're all having fun," Sakurai said, "but we must put the festivities on hold for a moment."
He then walks up to Cloud with a briefcase.
"Cloud," Sakurai said, "out of everyone here, you're the one that persevered and beat them all. For winning the competition, I present to you here the hundred thousand dollar prize."
He then hands Cloud the briefcase, and Cloud opens it, seeing the cash in all of its glory.
"Wow. Thanks so much." Cloud said.
"You deserve it." Sakurai said, "And before you go back to your party, I have one last thing to tell you-"
He is then interrupted when the music turns back on and everyone goes back to partying.
"Fine, we'll do this the fun way." Sakurai said.
He snaps his fingers, and Master Hand comes in with a sledgehammer, and smashes the speakers.
"Whoa! What the hell?!" Link said.
"Don't you all know by now I hate being interrupted?" Sakurai said, "You all didn't let me finish what I was going to say."
"And that is?" Mac asked.
"Now Cloud," Sakurai said, "I know you worked hard for that money and won't give it up."
"Yeah?" Cloud said.
"But what if I told you that you could increase the amount of money you have by...say, a million dollars?"
"Wait, what?!" Cloud said.
"And what if I told you that you all have a chance to get a million dollars?"
"What are you saying?" Samus asked.
"I'm saying I've hidden a briefcase somewhere on the island. The case is filled with a million dollars."
"SERIOUSLY?!" Everyone shouted.
"Yes. Now, whoever finds it and brings it back to the dock of shame gets to keep all of the money in it. Consider it one last challenge."
"I thought we were done with challenges! Why have us do this?" Marth asked.
"Yeah! How do we know that this isn't just some sick trick?" Pit asked.
"Oh, trust me." Sakurai told them, "This is no joke. I'm being serious about this. So if you want to leave today a millionaire, I'd suggest you get to searching."
Everyone starts scrambling around, rushing to start looking for the case.
"What do you say, Samus?" Mac asked, "How about the two of us look for it together? We can split it."
"All right." She said.
"Hey! Mind if me and Lucina come with you guys?" Falcon asked.
"I guess." Mac said, "We could split it four ways. That will still be a lot for each of us."
"Then let's get going!" Lucina said.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Little Mac.
"Hey, I don't mind splitting that money." Mac said, "Especially with them. With the four of us working together, we'll find it."
End of Confessional
The four of them leave the others and begin their search.
"Come on, Link!" Zelda yelled, "Let's go find that case now! I could really use your help! Let's GO GO GO!"
"I don't know, Zelda." Link said, "Maybe I should go alone-"
"But I want to find it before the others!" She yelled, "I want that money! I want to win this!"
"I thought you were over this whole being SUPER competitive thing." Link said.
"Shut up! Let's go!"
She then grabs him by the ear and drags him along with her.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Link.
"For as long as I've known her," he said, "Zelda has always been really competitive. She always said she had to win. Always. She would do ANYTHING to win and succeed. This always led to her getting into trouble, and I always had to bail her out. I thought she was done being like that. When did she start acting like this again?"
The confessional then transitions to Zelda.
"Ever since I got eliminated from the game, I was just filled with so much anger at that." She said, "It was so unfair. And then that familiar feeling of wanting to succeed just came flooding back to me. And now I have the chance to get a million dollars. You better believe that I will stop at nothing to find that case. Even if I have to trample over some of these other guys to do it."
End of Confessional
"Hey, you two. What do you say we work together to find that money?" Marth asked.
"No way! You'd trick us and take it all for yourself!" Mario said.
"Yeah, I'll have to pass on your offer." Robin said.
"Come on, we're some the most crafty, deviant, villains here. We'd be unstoppable." Marth said.
"Um, I don't really consider myself a villain of any sort." Robin said.
"Says the one that tried to throw a challenge, and call his entire team idiots." Mario said.
"Look, you two can do that if you want, but count me out. I'm not working with you guys." Robin said.
Robin then leaves them to go search for the case.
"So what do you say? Wanna work with me?" Marth asked.
"Well, after all you did," Mario said, "including tricking me, that's a hard decision, but I like the way you think. Besides, I doubt nobody else here will want to work with me, so why not."
"Excellent. Let's get going."
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Marth.
"Like hell I'm working with anyone else to find that money!" He said, "And I'm surely not going to split that money with him! I'm going to keep it for myself. The only reason I asked Mario for help was so that he could do the work, and I'll take that briefcase when we do find it. He's no threat to me. He fell for my tricks once, and I bet you he will again."
The confessional then transitions to Mario.
"Like hell I'm splitting that money with him." Mario said, "The only reason I agreed to go with him for this was because I don't think I'll find it on my own. Have one of the craftiest players here help, and in the end trick the trickster. It's foolproof."
End of Confessional
"So long, you guys. That money is all mine." Sonic said.
Sonic then zooms away from everyone.
We then see Kirby, Fox, Donkey Kong, Rosalina, and Pit leave together.
"Okay. I say we combine our strengths, and work together as well to find it. What do you say?" Ryu asked.
"Alright. Sounds good." Luigi said.
"I guess." Waluigi said.
"Okay!" Isabelle said.
And the four of them head out.
"Well, I guess we better start looking." Cloud said, "You wanna come with me?"
"Of course." Peach said.
So they leave, and everyone else who didn't pair up with someone decided to go on their own.
"And so the hunt for a million dollars begins." Sakurai said, "Who will find it? Find out after the break."
Intermission
We now cut to two hours later, and everyone is still searching all over the island. Everyone then hears Sakurai's voice over the loudspeaker.
"Wow." Sakurai said uninterested, "Two hours and none of you have even so much as found that case. This is starting to get boring, so I'll give everyone a hint. The case is...just hanging around."
Everyone across the island stops to listen to this.
"Did you hear that?" Zelda said, "A hint! We gotta pick up the pace! Hurry up, Link!"
"Look," Link said, "do you think you could at least calm down for a moment? I get you want that money, but please don't start acting like this again. Don't you remember how many times that temper of yours got you into trouble? I thought you were over this. You didn't act like this during the competition."
"I thought you were supposed to have my back!" She yelled, "I thought we we were friends!"
"We are, but-"
"But nothing! If you don't wanna help, fine! I'll find that case by myself!"
She then storms off, leaving Link by himself.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Link looking concerned.
"Well, this is not going to end well." He said, "She's at the point of no return. Last time she got this riled up, somebody had their kneecaps smashed."
End of Confessional
"Hey, guys! What do you think he meant by it hanging around?" Lucina asked.
"That's easy...I got nothing." Falcon said.
"Hmm...hanging around?" Samus said, "It must be hanging up somewhere high. Probably high up in a tree where no one can get to it."
"That could be it." Mac said. But there are so many trees. Are we actually going to climb up every tree to find it? And if we do, can one of you guys do it?"
"Why?" Falcon asked.
"Well...I don't do high places, okay? I prefer to stay on the ground. I ain't no air fighter."
"So you're afraid of hights?" Lucina asked.
"Sigh...yes." He said.
"Well, don't worry." Samus said, "If we have to climb trees to look for the case, I'll do it. I can jump up pretty high. Don't you guys worry about that. You guys stay down here as a lookout.c
"Really? Okay." Mac said.
She then goes to the nearest tree and start jumping up it, looking for the case.
We then move to the group of Isabelle, Waluigi, Luigi, and Ryu.
"Any of you guys see it yet?" Waluigi asked.
"Not yet." Isabelle said.
"Hey, wait! Look! Up on that branch!" Luigi said.
They look at a tree branch above them, and see a briefcase dangling on a rope.
"It's the case!" Ryu said.
"So that's what he meant by hanging around." Waluigi said.
"But how do we get it?" Luigi asked.
"I'll do it," Isabelle said, "but I need someone's help. Can one of you throw me up there? I'll untie it from there."
Ryu picks her up and throws her up to the branch. She grabs on and unties the rope. The case comes down and Waluigi catches it. After that, Isabelle jumps down to the others.
"Hahaha! Well, this was easy! Let's take it back." Waluigi said.
"Wait! Maybe...I should hold onto it?" Luigi suggested.
"Don't worry. It's safe with me." Waluigi said.
"Well, how do we make sure that none of us will run off with it?" Ryu said, "How can we trust each other?"
"Hold on. I have a plan. Everyone make a line!" Isabelle said.
They do as she says, and uses the rope that held the case, and wraps the rope around the four of them. When she's done, they are standing in a line with the rope around their waists.
"Good!" She said, "Now none of us can run off with it! Now let's head back to the dock."
The four of them start walking back, but then everyone hears a message from Sakurai.
"Uh oh!" Sakurai said, "It looks like someone has found the case! If I were all of you, I would start looking for whoever has it, and take it from them!"
Everyone starts rushing to find whoever found the case.
"What?!" Marth said, "Someone already found it?! Damn it!"
"Well, let's go find whoever has it!" Mario said, "They are not winning that easily!"
We then move to Zelda
"Somebody found it?! Arrgh!" She yelled.
She then notices a shack right by her, with a hot air balloon.
"Looks like that could change after all.c she said.
"Looks like we can stop looking here!" Samus said.
"Yeah!" Falcon said, "Let's go find whoever has it!"
The four of them run off looking for that group as well.
"Looks like this just got easy." Sonic said.
Link was walking around by himself looking for it until he heard the message.
"Oh boy...if it wasn't her that found it...oh crap!" Link said.
Link then just starts running to find the case.
We then move to a group that was searching around the cabins.
"Somebody found it already? This isn't good!" Pit said.
"How did they find it so fast?" Fox said.
"Looks like looking around here won't work." Rosalina said.
That group runs off, but didn't notice that Robin was spying on them through a bush. He then starts to follow them.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Robin.
"I figure the best course of action would be to follow others, and take it when they're not looking. It saves me the effort of having to search." He said.
End of Confessional
We then move to the group that had found the case.
"Looks like he revealed somebody found it!" Ryu said.
"Yeah! They're gonna find us!" Luigi said.
CLooks like we better pick up the pace and hurry to the docks before they find us!" Isabelle said.
The group starts running, trying to find the docks, until they see a hot air balloon flying in low towards them. They see that Zelda was on it, and the rope keeping them together got hooked onto the balloon. Now they realize that they are high in the air dangling off the balloon.
"What are you doing?! This is insane! Let us up there!" Waluigi said.
"Sure, as long as you promise to give me the case." Zelda said.
"What?" Luigi said, "No! We found it fair and square! What kind of a negotiation is that?"
"The kind where I leave a millionaire, and you four don't fall to your deaths."
"We're not gonna give it to you! Let us off of this!" Isabelle said.
"Fine. Have it your way."
She then pulls out a knife and starts cutting at the rope.
"You wouldn't!" Ryu said.
"Last chance. If you want to live, give it to me."
The four of them are looking at each other, thinking what they should do. During this, she's slowly cutting at the rope. They then nod in agreement.
"Okay, fine! Just let us up there!" Waluigi said.
"Glad we could come to an agreement."
She then pulls them up into the balloon.
"Now...hand it over."
"No!" They shouted.
"What?! But a deals a deal! Gimme it now!"
"We're not gonna let you take it that easy! You can't take on all four of us!" Luigi said.
She then grabs Isabelle as a hostage and pulls out the knife.
"I'd be careful about your next move, or she's history!"
"Let her go!" Waluigi yelled.
"How dare you!" Ryu said.
"She's insane!"
"Give. Me. The. Case. Now."
"Guys, help me!" Isabelle cried out.
"I'm going to give you guys to the count of three. One….two…"
Without thinking, Waluigi pulls out his tennis racket, and quickly uses it to knock the knife out of her hand, and it falls out of the balloon to the ground below.
"So now we're all going to play dirty, huh?"
"Bitch please, I'm the king of not playing fair!" Waluigi said.
Then Zelda let's go of Isabelle and charges at them fighting for the case. This erupts into a fight amongst them. This is causing the hot air balloon to move around air lot in the air, to the point that many of the other campers are seeing it. The balloon starts swerving in the direction of the docks.
"Um, are you guys seeing what I'm seeing?" Mac asked.
"It looks like a fight is going on up there!" Lucina said.
"And I see they have the case!" Samus said.
"Let's follow them!" Falcon said.
And the four of them run after the balloon.
"What's going on up there?" Peach asked.
"It doesn't look good. Stay here for a moment. I'll go see what's happening." Cloud told her.
Cloud then runs after it as well.
"Well, he might need my help." She said.
And she then runs after him.
"Look at what's going on up there! It's utter chaos!" Marth said.
"And they got the case!" Mario said, "We gotta hurry! They're heading towards the docks!"
And the two of them join in the pursuit.
"I knew it! Of course she'd start causing trouble!" Link said.
Link joins in the chase after them. He then runs into Samus, Captain Falcon, Little Mac, and Lucina. And then they run into Marth and Mario, and then run into Cloud.
"Sorry, but that money is mine!" Marth said.
"No, its ours!" Mac said.
They follow the balloon until they see it crash to the ground close to the dock. They run over to them and then it's one big fight between all of them for the case. They're all trying to grab it, and whenever someone grabs it, someone else grabs it.
"IT'S MINE!"
"NO, IT'S MINE!"
"LIKE HELL IT IS!"
Their fighting causes the case to fly in the air and slide along the dock. They all quickly run to it, pushing and shoving to get it until the case slides into the water, and all of their fighting causes them to fall into the water as well.
They all see the case floating, until a shark comes up and eats it.
"Are you kidding me?!" Marth yelled.
They then look back at the dock and see Sakurai standing there looking disappointed.
"So...you all lost the case." He said, "Way to go. That's just great. I didn't want to have to do this, but you leave me no choice. Since none of you officially won, all thirteen of you tied. Which means...you guys get another chance to win the million dollars!"
They all start cheering at this.
"...IN SEASON TWO!"
They all stop their cheering at this announcement.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Samus.
"Did he just say...season two?"
The confessional then transitions to Mario.
"Is he serious?! Another season?"
End of Confessional
After he said this, Pit, Peach, Fox, Rosalina, Ness, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Robin, and Sonic run to the docks.
"What happened?" Kirby asked.
"Oh, you guys were so close, but you all didnt even get close to the case, and missed the chance to be in the next season." Sakurai told them.
"Wait a minute! There's nothing those contracts we signed that say anything about another season!" Cloud said.
"Actually, there is. It's called the fine print. Read it, live it, love it! Now, as for those of you that didn't even find the case at all, you will be in the next season...but watching from the sidelines."
"Man, that's a bummer." Pit said.
"I don't really mind." Robin said.
"But for those of you who will be competing again, I hope to see you all in one week, at a new location, at an abandoned film lot to compete for ONE MILLION DOLLARS!"
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Samus.
"Well, here we go again." She said, "But a million dollars...I guess I'll just have to suck it up and deal with it. I made it far last time, so I think I stand a chance."
The confessional then transitions to Marth.
"Well well well." He said, "Looks like I'll be competing for a million dollars this time. I told them I'd get my revenge, and so I shall. They will really fear me. This time, I won't fail."
The confessional then transitions to Captain Falcon.
"Woo-hoo! Alright! Season two, baby! This time I'll try to win it all! And now I have the best girlfriend ever there with me! So bring it on!"
The confessional then transitions to Luigi.
"Wow. Looks like I'm competing again. This time, I will not go home early. I'll do my best to make sure I stay as long as possible. Time to prove I'm just as capable as my brother!"
The confessional then transitions to Waluigi.
"I can't believe I'm getting another shot. It's time to really show what I can do! I may not be a fighter, but I can be a winner!"
The confessional then transitions to Zelda.
CI was robbed of that money! And now I have to go through it all again. I may have not been able to do much this season, but now I'm going to show them all that I'm number one! Come hell or high water, I'll win it all. Take no prisoners!"
The confessional then transitions to Mario.
"Things will be different this time. I'm going to win that money. And I'm going to leave Cloud in the dust."
The confessional then transitions to Link.
"I guess I'll try to win this time, but now I'm back to seeing the Zelda that I used to know. Looks like I gotta be really careful around her. Everyone should."
The confessional then transitions to Lucina.
"Well, this is an interesting development. But at least there is an upside to this. I'll have Captain Falcon with me, so I'm not worried. We'll be the most powerful couple there."
The confessional then transitions to Ryu.
"Looks like this time, I'm going to have to try harder to win. Another chance to prove myself, and with more money on the line."
The confessional then transitions to Little Mac.
"Hopefully, I won't almost die this time. Another season, with more money to win? Great. And the fact that I'll have Samus with me? Even better."
The confessional then transitions to Cloud.
"It's such a shame that I won't have Peach with me, but I'm not worried. It'll be nice to win even more money."
The confessional then transitions to Isabelle.
"I'm going to give it my best this time! I hope you'll all cheer me on! And Waluigi too! We're going to go far! Just you wait and see!"
End of Confessional
"And there you have it." Sakurai said, "The thirteen of them will be competing in season two! I know I'm excited! Wonder which one of them will win the million dollars? I'm Masahiro Sakurai, and I'll see you all next time in Super...Smash...Action!"

And so, season one is done. Now we move on to Action. Thank you to those of you who read and reviewed this story to this point. This makes me so happy. I couldn't have done it without the viewers. Also, I do have some surprises for the beginning of season two. Five more new characters are going to be competing alongside the other thirteen competing. Bet you all can't wait so see who they are. Also, in most episodes, we're going to have famous video game characters appear as a guest star each episode. You won't have to wait long.
