As I said, I'm hoping to get these chapters out faster. Ideally that doesn't end up being a lie. We'll see, I suppose.
Chapter 24
Don't Stop Me Now
As for Ruby herself, she wasn't having a good time. But Roman...
"Wow!"
He was having the time of his life.
To be more specific, he was busy throwing Ruby around such to let off some steam, and by the sounds of things, he had a lot of extra steam.
"You are much more manageable without that oversized gardening tool of yours," he said in reference to Crescent Rose.
Not letting him get away with mocking her baby like that, she stood and charged Roman, but he simply smirked and sidestepped while holding his cane out, tripping her and sending her sprawling out over the floor.
"Oh man," Roman said, laughing. "You know, Perry, I really did need this."
The White Fang member in question gave him a thumbs up, Roman snickering again. However, his laugh quickly subsided as he turned to Ruby, the tip of his cane flipping out as he aimed at her.
"But seriously. How'd you find this place, Red?" he asked, keeping her in his sight. However, she quickly used her Semblance to zip past Roman, earning a startled "Whoa!" from him as she did so. He looked around for a moment to find her, quickly doing so and smiling. Flipping his cane around to grab the gun end, he fired the crook of it at Ruby to latch onto her and bring her back to him, shaking his head while she was dragged back in.
"I see you've got some tricks up your sleeve!" he said, almost lightheartedly. However, his false joy was quickly replaced with sadism. "Let me make this clear: We're not through here yet."
Before he could continue with whatever sick thing he had in mind, an explosion sounded from the rooftops above, drawing his attention there.
"Oh, what the..." he began, cutting himself off and rubbing the bridge of his nose. "Perry, if you and the boys could take care of that? Kinda in the middle of something."
Perry nodded and turned to run off and investigate, but is jarred when another one sounds nearby, visibly agitating Roman.
"WHAT is going on here?!" he shouted, waving his arms around, nearly hitting Ruby, though she dodged it just in time, turning to run while he was distracted, as even more explosions were sounding off. However, before she made a break for it, she hopped on Roman's shoulders and pulled his hat down over his eyes, heading towards the explosions. After all, she had a pretty good idea on what might be causing it. Roman recovered fast though, and hooked Ruby once more with his cane.
"Little Red, Little Red, Little Red, if I were I betting man, and I definitely am," he said, half mumbling the last part to himself, "then I'd wager you know what's causing all of this ruckus. Care to share with an old pal?"
Before she could be brought back all the way, however, Roman found himself having a hard time pulling her back. In fact, his cane wasn't pulling her back at all. He took a moment to look around, only then seeing that Link was standing next to him, holding the wire that had shot from Roman's cane.
"Oh for the love of-"
Before he could finish, Link had roundhouse kicked him in the face and wrenched his cane from his hands, allowing Ruby to unhook herself.
"Thanks. That guy has been a pain ever since I fell down here..." Ruby lamented, earning a pat on her head.
"Oh well. We can deal with him now," Link replied, reaching to his back and grabbing both her scroll and scythe, passing them back to her.
"Yaaay, you found them," she said, nuzzling Crescent Rose. "Mommy missed yooouuu."
"You can pamper her when we're all done with this," Link said as Ruby continued to coo to her weapon. He couldn't help but smile though, as seeing her happy was a hell of a lot better than thinking she's in danger.
More and more explosions triggered around the cavern, Ruby turning and seeing the rest of her team and Oobleck charging through, laying waste to anything in their way. Well, to be honest, it was mostly Yang, as she was pissed.
Meanwhile, a White Fang soldier helped Roman to his feet, who was still rubbing his jaw in pain. Link kicked really hard. Grabbing the soldier who helped him up, he said to him, "Attach this cart and spread the word: We're starting the train," he said, now angry. Everything was going so smoothly...
"But we're not finished!" retorted the White Fang soldier, but Roman really did not like that answer.
"Do it or you're finished!" he commanded, pinning them to the wall with his cane. Nodding 'yes', the now-scared White Fang member was released and ran off. "And do it fast," Roman finished as he turned to look at Link and Ruby, who were turning to rendezvous with the rest of Ruby's team.
Catching up with them, Ruby leapt into Yang's arms right as she finished thrashing another soldier who got too close. Yang seeing and gladly catching her.
"Ruby~!" she basically sang, happy to see that her sister was alive. When she saw that S.O.S., she was worried. Very worried.
"Are you okay?" Weiss asked. Appearances are one thing, but some injuries don't leave marks.
"I'm fine, I'm fine!" she said as Yang set her down. "But listen! Torchwick's got all kinds of weapons and robots down there."
"What?!" Blake asked, looking around. Why were her fellow Faunus allying themselves with him?
"Androids, mechs, they're all loaded up on the train cars!" Ruby clarified, Link nodding in agreement.
"I heard some people moving Paladin 290s, possibly in the double digits. They're well armed," he clarified further.
"Ahhhh, that's ridiculous," Oobleck said, waving off the idea. "These tunnels are sealed, the tracks lead to a dead-end."
"Get to your places," called Roman's voice over the speaker system, "we are leaving now!"
The train itself began moving, just as said it would. Fantastic.
"Well, it sounds like they're going somewhere," Yang said, placing her hands on her hips.
"We need backup," Ruby said, getting out her scroll. "It doesn't seem like the rest of VDMR is gonna be here anytime soon, so let me call Jaune."
As she tried though, her scroll simply read 'Low Signal', Ruby scoffing and placing it back in her pocket.
"Ugh, I can't get through!" Ruby said almost dishearteningly, yet more annoyed than anything else.
"So, what do we do?" Weiss asked. She was just as curious as everyone else was at this point.
"I believe we only have one option..." Oobleck said, adjusting his glasses, Ruby nodding and turning around to face the others.
"We're stopping that train!"
OOO
Now, as of yet, the train hadn't stopped, which seems to conflict with the information provided to us prior. You can't blame them though, stopping a whole train is rather hard. Impossible for most people, in fact. Especially when loaded with as much weight as this one was. Namely, multitudes of Atlesian tech and weapons. And to guard these weapons were several guards, hence the name. One of said guards was doing a patrol on the roof, as per Roman's orders, but he thought that was silly. Who was going to be able to catch the train? Even if they could go fast enough, the train was more heavily armed than most Atlesian transports.
Right as he was finishing his thoughts, an unexpected sound caught his ear, and he turned around to try and find the source, seeing nothing other than a few stray... rose petals?
Knowing that those weren't exactly supposed to be there, he brought out his comm device.
"Uh, I think they're on the-"
Before he could finish his sentence, he was knocked out by a caffeinated Huntsman with green hair brandishing a weaponized thermos.
OOO
Meanwhile, in the front of the train, Roman was busy making sure his guards were driving the train for him when another barged into the room, and it didn't seem like he had good news for him. They never had good news for him, in fact.
"Boss! They made it on the train!" said the guard, giving him bad news as he had anticipated.
Roman merely sighed in response, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "Then grab some cargo and get them off the train!" he ordered, waving at him with his free hand, the soldier nodding and running off to ideally do just that.
"Man, animals, every one of them," he said, looking up to see the two White Fang soldiers in the room with him glaring at him.
"Not you guys though, you're, heh, you're great," he said in a pathetic attempt to clear himself.
"Man, I want Mr. Fenrir back," said one guard, the other nodding in agreement but refusing to take their eyes off the controls.
"He's so much nicer. Last week he bought me a few drinks for my birthday, and even threw me a little party. He was the only one who remembered... Why can't all humans be like him?"
"Look, if we get what we want," Roman said, getting their attention, "the only humans left are gonna be like him. So do your jobs, and do them right."
The two shrugged in agreement, and went back to focussing on the train.
OOO
Right after Oobleck had knocked the guard out, he signaled for the others to join him, Team RWBY and Link doing just that
"Hurry, children! We must get to the front and stop this train!" he said, adjusting his glasses.
"Err..." Weiss said, examining the contents of the car they were standing upon. "Professor?"
"Doctor..." he clarified, further adjusting his glasses.
Weiss ignored him, something far more important weighing on her mind. "What's that?" she asked, pointing into the car at a large, complex device nestled inside.
"That my dear..." Oobleck said as he examined the device, eyes widening slightly as the realization hit him, "appears to be a bomb."
Upon hearing this, the four members of Team RWBY backed away from the hatch, but Link simply went to examine it himself.
"Rather high yield too..." he said in thought. "This thing could very well level a city block."
Weiss and Yang looked on in shock, only for Blake to look almost defeated.
Ruby was going to say something but instead took a look around to see that massive amounts of White Fang soldiers were climbing to the top to apprehend them. "We've got baddies!" she declared, the rest of her team looking forward to see the White Fang members as well.
"Well," Oobleck said, nodding, "I didn't expect them to go-"
As he spoke the bomb beneath them activated and began beeping, catching him off guard, but he quickly regained his composure and continued.
"-easy on us," he said, standing. "Time to go!"
As they started moving, Oobleck stopped Blake, turning her toward the rear car.
"Blake! Detach the caboose!" he commanded. "It will kill us all!"
Blake simply nodded in response. "On it."
She leapt down in order to do as she was told, readying Gambol Shroud to cut the connection. However, right as she was about to do just that, the car separated all by itself.
"Huh?" she said aloud in wonder. "It decoupled itself!" she said as she turned to Oobleck, who did not sound pleased by this.
"What?!" he shouted.
"I guess he really doesn't want us on this train," Yang deduced, Oobleck watching as the car that had come undone quickly detonated, the powerful explosion nearly deafening everyone in the tunnel.
"That's not good..." he muttered, Ruby hearing him as she examined the car they had jumped to.
"Err, neither is this!" she said in worry, everyone gathering around to see that this car contained yet another explosive.
"Another bomb?!" Blake shouted in disbelief.
This information didn't sit well with Oobleck. "No. No. No," he said, running to the next car. Opening it and confirming his unfortunate theory, he turned to the students and shouting back, "They ALL have bombs!"
The bomb Ruby had found quickly activated and began beeping as well, forcing them to flee to the next car as it detached and began rolling back.
"This doesn't make sense!" Yang said, looking around to see that the White Fang members were getting closer, one of them shouting "Get the humans!" and pointing at them.
As they said this, Team RWBY leapt into the fray, ready to dispatch the soldiers in their way. Link and Oobleck, however, watched the other car roll back and detonate. However, rather than simply blinding them for a moment this time, it also blew a hole in the ceiling and walls, a plethora of different Grimm flooding in.
"Oh, dear..." Oobleck said as he watched the quickly growing herd or Grimm begin surging toward the train.
"Well, Doctor Oobleck, I think I see how they're circumventing all of those seals you were talking about..." Link said, realization hitting Oobleck.
"He's leading Grimm to the city!" he shouted, Team RWBY stopping in their tracks and turn back towards Link and Oobleck.
Weiss couldn't quite comprehend what she had just heard, and offered nothing more than a startled "What?" as she turned back to the good doctor behind her, Oobleck taking this as a chance to explain further.
"It's the cars!" he clarified, turning to the Grimm-infested tunnel behind him. "They detach and explode, creating openings for the Grimm!"
"That's insane!" Blake retorted, right as another car detached to continue blowing holes in the tunnel.
"We have to hurry!" Oobleck declared, turning to Weiss, Blake, Yang, and Link. "You four, go below and try to stop those bombs!"
"You got it," Link said, turning to the girls. "Follow me. We have no time to lose."
The three nodded, quickly following Link into the train car they were standing on, Ruby turning to Oobleck in question.
"What about us?" she asked, Oobleck turning back to her.
"We're going to stop this train," he said, Ruby pouting.
"Yeah, I know. I said that earlier," she said, puffing out her cheeks.
Regardless of Oobleck stealing her lines, they went on the move. The White Fang soldiers finally got close too, several having loaded into Paladins in order to try and squash the intruders, Ruby, Oobleck, and Zwei charging towards them.
"Up ahead!" Oobleck shouted as one soldier broke forward in their mech. "We got a problem!"
Oobleck quickly took a sip from his thermos before shifting it to weapon mode, a small flame roaring at the tip. To his surprise, Zwei yapped at him, wagging his tail fiercely. Oobleck caught on a readied to swing his weapon, Zwei hopping up as Oobleck let loose, smashing the dog at the incoming Paladin and lighting him on fire. The pilot attempted to blast him out of the air but failed, instead taking the hit dead on, knocking him and the paladin off of the train. The pilot managed to escape from the mech in time, though he was still blown off the train, the Paladin smashing into a barricade and detonating. As for Zwei, he plopped safely back onto the train, yapping happily as another Paladin approached to eliminated him, Oobleck instead choosing to blow him off of the train as well.
OOO
As for the other four, they had dropped down into another car, the bomb before them as of yet inactive, but their goal was to leave it inoperable.
"You girls ready?" Link asked, kneeling next to the bomb, trying to find an access panel or something of the like to try and mess with its internals.
"I guess this is what we trained for," Yang said, shrugging. "We technically should be."
A thought crossed Weiss' mind, quickly reaching into her pouch and grabbing a few magazines loaded with Dust rounds, passing them to Blake
"Here, these should help you," she said, Blake taking them and loading one into Gambol Shroud, pocketing the others.
"Okay, you three go on ahead and take care of the other bombs, I'll take care of this one," Link said, finally finding an access panel, exposing a multitude of wires.
The three needed, moving to the next car, hearing Link mumble something about relays, detonators, other technical jargon before closing the door. As they entered the next car, however, they were met by the same pink and brown haired girl who had rescued Roman after they destroyed his Paladin, Neopolitan, the petite woman having fallen from the ceiling to stop them.
"You two go on ahead," Yang said, cracking her knuckles. "This one's mine."
Blake and Weiss moved to go forward, Neo prepared to stop them. However, Yang fired a long shot at her which was easily defended against by her foe's umbrella, but it was just enough for the two to get past her. Yang stepped forward to size up, or rather 'down', her diminutive opponent, who merely looked up at her and smiled evil. Yang simply went for the first strike, and their bout had begun.
As for the next car, Weiss and Blake were running through the dimly lit cabin, stopping only when they heard the sound of powerful revving from the shadows ahead of them, from these very same shadows walking a very large man dragging a huge weaponized chainsaw on the ground, faint sparks coming from where it contacted the ground. It just so happened to be the same White Fang Lieutenant at the rally Blake and Sun had gone to to try and find dirt on Torchwick.
"You go on ahead!" Weiss declared, Blake nodding.
"Got it!"
The two charged at the Lieutenant, who simply laughed and raised his chainsaw, bringing it crashing down on the two before him. Blake deflected the attack, Weiss backflipping away as she did so. Weiss then took this chance to land a few blows on the Lieutenant while he was staggered, knocking to the floor, Blake using this as an opening to move on to the next car. She looked back just in time to see Weiss smile at her, smiling back as she ran, closing the door behind her.
It took him a moment to regain his composure, but once he did, the Lieutenant rose from the floor, laughing as he brandished his chainsaw. "Finally, I get to kill a Schnee..." he said, Weiss merely raising Myrtenaster in defiant response.
As for Blake, the car she ran to was full of nothing but bad news. Gritting her teeth, she gripped her blade more tightly as she looked upon Roman Torchwick, Roman smiling and waving to Blake.
"Hello, kitty cat. You miss me?" he asked, chuckling. "You know, we really gotta stop meeting like this. People are gonna talk..."
Blake wasted no time, however, in beginning their battle, charging forward to attack. Roman anticipated this and prepped his cane to swing down, Blake remembering the mag full of Dust Weiss had given her, triggering her weapon right as she used her Semblance to dodge his swing, the round chambered at that moment having been fire Dust, her usual clone being replaced by one that blew up in his face, sending him backwards. Blake capitalized on this and took a few swings at him, landing a few good hits before he regained his composure, trying to punch at her, Blake using the standard version of her Semblance to launch above him and land an axe kick to the back of his head, sending his sprawling out on the floor, though he quickly got back up and angrily took a swing at her, Blake agin using her Semblance to encase his cane in a clone of ice, moving to the side and drop-kicking him in the face, quickly moving to step on his chest and aim her blade at his throat.
Roman laughed nervously for a moment as he looked at the sword aimed at his neck before clearing his throat and adopting a more sinister tone. "Why are we fighting? I saw you at the rally, we're on the same side and you know it..."
Blake look confused for a moment, but that moment was just enough for Roman to trip her and grab his cane, which by then had luckily thawed enough to wrench it free, aiming it at Blake.
"So, care to take a moment to chat? There's a lot that I wanna talk about..."
OOO
As Weiss' fight with the Lieutenant got underway, it was clear that her opponent was much stronger than her, any blow he blocked being blocked with utter ease. She, at the very least, had the speed advantage, but in such a tight space it wasn't doing her much good. She moved in to try and attack again, but the Lieutenant muscled his way through her attack, pushing her onto the floor.
"C'mere, princess!" he yelled in his thick accent, grabbing her by the face and smashing her into the ground, knocking her out, lifting her up higher and revving his chainsaw, seemingly going for the kill...
OOO
Yang's fight was going similarly poorly, but in the opposite way as was with Weiss' fight; she seemed to be stronger than Neo, but Neo was just too slippery, and every punch she threw was either blocked by her weird umbrella or just outright dodged. Even using her Semblance, she was unable to land any kind of meaningful attack, instead being completely outmaneuvered and outdone, Neo pulling off a very acrobatic maneuver and clinging to Yang, throwing her into the ceiling and knocking her out. Once she hit the floor, Neo unsheathed the blade she apparently had hidden within her umbrella, going in to get rid of the blonde she had bested, a sadistic smile plastered across her face. However, before she could do so, a woman wearing a mask came from seemingly nowhere, sending Neo back. Neo seemingly knew this woman and feared her, as evidenced by her eyes changing to white and the blatant fear written across her face. The woman slowly drew her sword, the blade telescoping out to make it even longer, aiming the time at Neo, who wasted absolutely no time in escaping in a bright flash of light. The woman then sheathed her sword and turned back to Yang taking a look at her right as the door to the previous car opened, revealing Link, who had just finished fully dismantling the bomb, the miscellaneous parts strewn around the room.
Now, Link clearly hadn't seen what had unfolded simply moments ago in the train car, so he was left with very little information, namely that Yang lay unconscious on the floor while a woman with a mask stood above her with her hand on her sword. So naturally, he deduced that she was the cause of this, and made his move to protect Yang.
Moving in quickly with sword drawn, he took a fast swing at the woman, who barely managed to react in time, only being able to partially unsheath her blade in order to defend, Link pushing her back and activating the gauntlet on his shield hand, which he still left on his back. The woman took one good look at Link before drawing quickly and trying to decapitate Link, who quickly ducked and took a swing at her now-exposed midsection. The woman thought fast and telescoped her sword back in, using the centrifugal force of this action to swing faster and lock swords with Link, who used his free gauntlet to try and go for her eyes, the woman ducking, only for Link to knee her in the face, nearly removing her mask. She quickly fell back and glared at him, clearly annoyed that he had managed to land an actual hit.
It was at this moment though that she noticed that Link was purposely positioning himself between her and Yang, seemingly to protect her. She even moved off to the side, Link sliding over to ensure he was directly between the two.
"You'd better back off," Link demanded, glaring at the woman. "You hurt her, I hurt you more."
The woman nodded and backed away, swinging her sword to the side and opening some sort of portal, stepping through and leaving, Yang regaining consciousness right at this moment, and seeing the woman leave. Rubbing her head, evidently still groggy from her recent defeat, she stood and looked around, seeing that Link was there with her.
"Ugh..." she started, shaking her head. "Who was that?"
"No idea," Link said.
"And where did Neo go?" she asked, having fully come to.
"Who?" Link asked, having not met this 'Neo' before. After all, while RWBY and the other members of VDMR were dealing with her and Roman, he was busy dealing with Fenrir.
"The girl who I fought with, short, pink and brown hair, had an umbrella," she clarified, Link shrugging.
"No idea. I only saw that black haired woman. I figured she was the one who attacked you, but..." he said, realization hitting him. "Oh crap, I think she was here to protect you..."
"She was?" Yang asked, thinking back to the black haired woman, who actually seemed really familiar to her... "Wait," she said, now confused, "if she drove off the girl I fought, and you drove her off... How are you not dead?" she asked, Link sheathing his sword.
"She didn't seem that strong to me," he said, shrugging. "Once I threatened her, she backed off."
"Huh," Yang said.
OOO
Blake herself was in quite the predicament, as Roman was keeping a very close eye on her in case she tried to make any kind of move. Obviously she still occasionally tried, but he would easily counter and cut off that particular route of possible escape.
"Oh, still feisty," he said, smirking as she tried and failed once again to free herself. "Soooo, what are we gonna do now? You think a little bow on top is gonna make people forget who you were? What you've done...?"
Blake simply grit her teeth in response, the sound of banging from the other room drawing her attention. Both Roman and her turned to look, seeing the Lieutenant dragging an unconscious yet thankfully living Weiss into the room, tossing her to the floor and shouldering his chainsaw. Seeing that Blake's teammate was decommisioned, Roman snickered, turning back to Blake.
"So what's it gonna be, Blake?"
Right as he said this, he heard a quiet war cry right before Link ran up behind the Lieutenant and drop kicked him as hard as he could in the back, launching him into Roman and knocking the both of them out. Quickly getting back up, Link carefully picked up Weiss while Yang went over to help up Blake, the group quickly discussing what had happened.
"Thanks for the help," Blake said as she brushed herself off, sheathing Gambol Shroud.
"No problem," Link said, doing the same. The floors on this train were filthy...
"So, what's next for us?" Yang asked.
"I'd say we should get her awake before doing anything else..." Link said, referring to Weiss, who now seemed to be sleeping comfortably in Link's arms, a small smile on her face.
"Oh, easy," Yang said, clearing her throat and getting right next to Weiss' ear, inhaling deeply. "WEISS LOOK NEPTUNE IS HERE!"
"HUH WHAT WHERE?" was all she could say as she woke instantly and shoved herself out of Link's arms, falling to the floor. Everyone couldn't help but laugh at the heiress, who crossed her arms and pouted. "I'll have you know I was having such a lovely dream. I was a princess being rescued by the most handsome knight."
"Let me guess, he had just freed you from the tower and was carrying you into the sunset?" Yang asked, a smug smile on her face.
"Oh yes, exact...!" Weiss said, realizing what she had just said, a heavy blush spreading on her face. "...ly..."
"Ok yeah we should get moving," Link said, Weiss quickly standing and brushing herself off.
"Yes please and let's never talk about this again," she said quickly, heading forward.
"Sure," Link said, though Blake and Yang merely looked at each other and shook their heads.
OOO
Oobleck quickly dodged a lumbering sweep from a Paladin, leaping on top of it and taking a few pot shots at its exposed engine before leaping back down, Ruby planting Crescent Rose in the ground before firing at its feet alongside Oobleck, knocking it off balance and off the train by extension.
"Ruby!" he called, getting her attention. "You go on ahead!"
"But-" she said, looking at the multitude of soldiers still swarming around them.
"Don't worry, Ruby," he said to sooth her. "It's time... I teach them a lesson..."
He quickly went to take on an incoming pair of Paladins, Ruby turning to leave but seeing Zwei look up to her, evidently sad. Sighing yet smiling, she motioned for him to join Oobleck.
"Go," she said, Zwei perking up instantly and letting loose a bark of thanks before running off to join Oobleck, Ruby then turning to head to the front of the train, the other members of her team and Link arriving from below to meet up with her. Though she was relieved they were all okay, she had heard a few banging noises from down below and figured a fight or two had broken loose, she looked on and her face grew pale when she realized that the train was on its way to smash into the wall at the end of the tunnel, the others seeing the same thing she had.
"What do we do?" Blake asked, Ruby merely looking to Weiss and smiling, Weiss catching on and smiling back, drawing Myrtenaster and stabbing it into the ground and forming a massive shield of ice to protect them all, the train shortly thereafter hitting the wall, the resulting explosion consuming everything in the tunnel.
OOO
When Ruby finally came to, the first thing that returned to her was her hearing, hearing nothing but emergency alarms blaring.
Next came her vision, looking to see that they were above ground, seeing buildings from what looked to be central Vale. Scanning the area to her right, she saw Blake and Yang standing, Yang waving her arm in front of her face as she coughed, dust clouding the air around her. Looking to her left, she saw Weiss sitting against a large piece of debris, giving a thumbs-up to relay the fact that she was okay. She also looked around more, seeing a few civilians in the area, which was probably not a good sign.
Finally, her other senses returned, and she could finally feel that she was being held, looking up to see that Link was kneeling and cradling her with his free hand, as his other was occupied holding up a large piece of debris with multiple pieces or rebar jutting out of the bottom would would have likely speared her had it not been for him. Patting him on the chest to thank him, he set her down, taking this chance to finally get the large section of road off of him, stretching his legs out and rolling his shoulders, as he had been holding Ruby for what seemed to be a reasonably long time. She was about to say something, but she was stopped by the faint sounds of rumbles which quickly grew louder and louder, turning behind her just in time to see a King Taijitu burst forth from the hole, followed by an absolute tidal wave of others, the nearby citizens screaming and fleeing in terror. Team RWBY could only look on in horror before Ruby shook her head, her worry dissolving as it was replaced with resolve, Link standing beside her and drawing his sword.
"Let's finish what we started."
"Yeah, let's."
Oh hey it wasn't a lie. So again, nothing too much to say here, pretty standard chapter, aside from a few small changes, including Link fighting the masked woman. Not too much to say there either though... Man, these author notes aren't as interesting anymore, are they? Well, I'll try to make them fun again. I'm sure my buddy would like them to more interesting too.
Oh, and I'd just like to point out that bonus chapters are still 100% accepted and appreciated, so feel free to let me know if you have any ideas for any. I'll see about coming up with a few on my own just to keep them a bit more consistent, but even my imagination has its limits. You can leave suggestions as either reviews, or send them to me as private messages. Just please note that if you do, there's no guarantee that I do them or respond to you, based on the number of suggestions. I'm probably not likely to receive too many though, as I'm not too big of an author here. I'll hopefully keep growing though, just as I have been thanks to all your support! So thanks guys, and here's to the next chapter of Vale is for the Valiant!
OniHelix out!
