Chapter 19: To Kamui and Sacrifice
Two months passed before Kakashi and Ammy started their journey at the start of November when Ammy took her pup on a long journey through the Elemental Lands and Nippon to reach Kamui. The two traveled for a month with some caravan that was going to Nippon, there were travelers from all around the Elemental Lands. Both mother and son travelled were in their wolf forms to keep themselves
The children in the caravan immediately took a liking to Kakashi they spent time playing and cuddling at night with the pup. Ammy and Kakashi sometimes joined the men on hunting, where the mother took it upon herself to teach her pup how to hunt. She still made sure that Kakashi kept training and learning all his shinobi and brush techniques.
Once they reached Sei`an City the caravan split up, some went to Kamiki Village, Kusa Village and Yakushi Village. The two wolves made their way toward Kamui. The more the two travelled toward north the worse the weather became, but the two continued on. The two reached Wep`keer where they met Oki and some other Oina Tribe members. After the initial introduction Kakashi went with some of the Oina pups, while both Ammy and Oki went to the black and red wolfs home.
Ammy took a seat near the fire pit in her human form. The man sat opposite of the goddess, there was silence broken by the cackling of flames. Oki was the first to break the silence. ˝What brings you here Amaterasu? Last time you entered the Ark of Yamato to return on the Celestial Plain.˝ His voice is respectful, but there`s the undertone of curiosity in it.
The woman looks at the warrior before her and answers. ˝Evil cannot exist without good and good cannot exist without evil. There must be harmony˝ The woman paused. ˝When this world came into existence there were two beings. One born from good, one born from evil. Twins. One created life, the other created demons.˝
˝But there is more to it, isn`t it.˝ Oki it was a statement and not a question.
Ammy looked at him and continued. ˝You`re right, there is. Shiranui, I myself and Kakashi are the beings from good. With each new incarnation that is born from either good or evil is stronger than the previous one. ˝
Oki`s eyes widened, not that anyone who doesn`t have experience with Oina would know. ˝That means-˝ He looks at the woman.
Ammy nods. ˝Kakashi will one day be far stronger Shiranui and I myself, he also inherited chakra from Sakumo. The reserves witch he has are already bigger than those of a jinchuriki his age normally are. And as he grows so will his chakra reserves.˝
Oki continues as he realizes something. ˝This being is the one that killed your son`s father.˝
Ammy takes a shaky breath. ˝Yes. And as the prophecy states me and Sakumo will never see our son grow. We won`t see him become a teenager, a man or if one day he will meet someone and have children. This is just how it is I guess. Because this evil shadow is afraid of his power it will do anything in it`s power to break Kakashi.˝ A tear slid down the goddess cheek.
Oki nodded, but there was something still nagging him in the back of his head. ˝Why did you bring your son here in the first place?˝
Ammy looked with her golden orbs into Oki`s red ones. ˝He is to stay and learn the way of the Oina. I know that he isn`t one. But the fact is that he could start transforming in front of everyone and the best way to explain it is that humans think that Kakashi is of the Oina tribe. That is the reason why I brought him here. And besides that the one who killed Sakumo is here, I accepted my fate. So I came here to make the job easier for the dark being.˝
Oki nodded understanding. ˝So you came to in a way commit suicide, by letting someone else kill you.˝
˝I`m afraid yes.˝ The woman stood up to leave. ˝Kakashi will stay with the Oina until spring, when he is to go back to Konoha.˝
Oki nodded. ˝That is also when Yukifa will go there. So she may enter the Academy and meet her grandparents. Her father was one of the Oina tribe, while her mother came from the Uchiha clan.˝
Ammy glanced at the red and blue warrior. ˝I see. Her name fits perfectly with this lands weather.˝
Oki nodded and smirked under his mask. ˝Her fur is like the freshly fallen snow and there is also a pattern of blue snowflakes. She`s around Kakashi`s age.˝
Ammy nodded then she left the warriors home in search of her son. Whom was playing with other Oina pup`s. She recognized some of the members gathered around. It didn`t take long Ammy to spot her pup, what with his white fur and red markings.
It didn`t take long for Kakashi to notice and join his mother. Ammy gave her son a lick when he bounded to her.
˝Mooom!˝ Kakashi complained felling embarrassed at being treated like a pup.
Ammy for her part only chuckled at her son. ˝Come on. I`ll give you the grand tour of all the places here. Maybe I could even take you to Ponc`tan to visit Ishaku and the other Poncle`s. what do you say to that Kashi?˝ Ammy asked her son as the two walked away from the playing pups.
It had been only a few days since the two of them had come to Kamui. Ammy had by then, as promised, given Kakashi a grand tour of the land and it`s surroundings. The two were walking through one of the forests when Ammy felt it. The same dark presence like on the night of Sakumo`s death. The moment Ammy felt the ominous presence she took hold of her son by the scruff of his neck. She picked him up and hid him in the nearest bush.
˝Listen to me Kakashi, don`t under any circumstances move or make a sound. Alright.˝ The pup gave her a fear and tear filled eyes. She gave him an encouraging smile. ˝Remember that me and your father love very much. And will forever no matter what be proud of you.˝ She gave him another smile and a giant kiss by licking her son one last time. Knowing full well that this will be the last time her precious son will ever see her alive.
Kakashi for his part stayed hidden in the bushes to afraid to make the smallest move or sound. Soon enough a dark form entered the meadow where Ammy had sat on her hind legs. The Great Sun Goddess was calm, she did not show any emotion.
The dark shadow that took the form of a black wolf with silver orbs and blue markings. The shadow of a wolf circled around Ammy taking in her appearance, then the being spoke. ˝I see that you came on your own.˝
Ammy took a deep breath. ˝I realized that it would be useless to try and run from my fate. So I came here on my own free will.˝
The wolf bristled. ˝So rather than run from it you decided to come here. You do realize that coming here was foolish.˝ The dark wolf`s eyes darkened. ˝The most foolish being that you brought along your son. Whom I can kill now when he still isn`t at his full potential power. And in return I let you live.˝ The wolf stopped before Amaterasu, whom lifted her gaze. Gold met silver, silver met gold. The two beings stared each other down with calculating looks, neither breaking eye contact.
Ammy was the first to speak. ˝Even if you wished to, you could never bring yourself to harm Kakashi. He reminds you too much of Shiranui.˝
As Ammy finished her sentence she found herself flying into the air and landing on her back painfully, then she felt a far more larger than her own paw pressed against her neck. The black wolf growled form above.
˝You dare say those words in my face. He looks nothing like Nui at all. You may be the Goddess of the Sun, but neither you or your pup are anything like Nui was.˝ The wolf was pissed, but Ammy`s stare didn`t waver not even for a second. She knew the truth, she retained Shirauni`s memories and knew of her previous incarnation`s twin.
˝You know as well I do that the words that just left your mouth are not true. No matter how much you deny them.˝ For those words she was rewarded for more pressure on her neck being applied by the silver eyed wolf.
The dark wolf said more words over his snarling teeth. ˝Any last words?˝
Ammy gave the great black beast a small smile and a kind look. ˝Deep in your heart you do not wish to bring him harm. Tsukiyomi.˝ A gasp left her as the black wolf sank his fangs into Ammy`s neck. Killing her instantly without much effort. The wolf let go of Amaterasu`s neck, turned tail to her now cold body without a trace.
Kakashi was left in horrified silence, he walked out of his hiding place to lay near his mother`s cold body. He stayed like that for what felt like an eternity to him, but could of actually been only minutes or hours. Kakashi looked up to the sky where he saw the full moon, then he howled. It was long, painful and sad. Those from Wep`keer and Ponc`tan could all hear his howl that echoed around Kamui.
Oki ran as fast as he could and it didn`t take him long to find the white wolf pup, whom was mourning his mother`s death. The warrior lay curled around the pup as to try and protect him. The pup after he paused in his howling leaned his small body onto Oki. The older wolf picked the pup by his scruff and carried Kakashi into the village back into his home. The pup howled once more during the night.
On the edge of Kamui a black wolf turned his voice towards the howl and he whispered into the wind. ˝We will meet one day when you are far more powerful and when we do we will see who is stronger. Good luck until then Child of the Sun Kakashi.
