Chapter 22
Hermione awoke early the next morning. It wasn't quite light outside yet, and she guessed the sun hadn't fully risen. The duvet rustled as she pulled it further up her body, flicking dark eyes over to take in Storm's sleeping form.
She was spread out on her back, hands behind her head as if she had only just fallen asleep. She looked nothing but peaceful. Her chest rising and falling deeply; unrestricted. The duvet having been pushed down to just above her hips, leaving her bare chest exposed to the morning air.
Hermione smiled to herself as she propped herself up on an elbow, taking in the scene set out before her eyes. She was encompassed wholly by everything that was the younger woman laying so close to her, warm skin pressed up against her front as she faced the girl.
Reaching her hand out she began drawing delicate lines against Storm's stomach, leaving goose flesh in the wake of her fingertips. She knew it would take a lot more to wake the taller woman and she wasnt surprised when Storm didn't stir, and remained still. Her breathing heavy and laden with sleep.
The brunette pondered for a moment, on the most appropriate way to wake the sleeping shifter. It was their honeymoon after all, and Storm had put so much effort into pleasing her the night before.
It didnt take long for Hermione decide, her keen mind honing in on the only real choice.
Keeping her eyes firmly fixed on Storm's face as her fingers began their descent further south, brushing gently against sleep warmed skin before disappearing underneath the sheet wrapped around Storm's hips. It wasnt long until she reached her destination, her fingertips circling the sensitive bundle of nerves at Storm's centre as soon as they found it.
She watched as the younger girls lips fell apart and a sigh dripped from her mouth. Dark eyebrows knitting together as the older woman quickened her pace, putting just enough pressure on the tight knot of nerves. She had a feeling the younger girl would still be sensitive from the previous night, and that suspicion was all but confirmed when a loud groan left Storm's lips.
Dark eyes fluttered open then, meeting Hermione's own as a small triumphant smirk twisted the brunettes lips. She could feel the liquid heat pooling from Storm's entrance as she continued, dipping her fingers down ever so slightly to gather a thin layer of slick wetness to ease her ministrations.
"Bloody hell" Storm whimpered as dark eyes finally fluttered open. She wasted no time in moving a hand to tangle in loose curls at the back of Hermione's neck; balling her fist there in order to tug the brunette down to her. Their lips met in a sloppy, hasty kiss as Storm's legs began to shake and her stomach began to quiver. Another few seconds and it was all over. Another low groan escaped her throat as she all but collapsed back into the bed. Her head hitting her pillow once again as she stared up in confusion for a moment.
"Do you want some breakfast?" Hermione spoke, her voice carrying a more than chipper tone as she leant forward to press a tender kiss to Storm's lips. Smirking to herself as the shifter panted.
"What?" Storm questioned, her mind reeling. "Are you okay?" She asked seriously, moving ever so slightly in order to take the brunettes triumphant smirk in.
Hermione just patted her chest lovingly for a moment, biting her bottom lip in thought. "I love you" she spoke finally, as if that answered everything.
It was good enough for Storm, and her lips twisted up into their usual lopsided grin. "I love you too" she spoke honestly before laughing out loud.
"You can wake me up like that more often!" She added playfully waggling her eyebrows cheekily.
"You'll have to behave more often then" Hermione retorted with a laugh as she moved to get out of the bed. Reaching for her wand that sat on her side table. As soon as it was wrapped within her grip she summoned her dressing gown to drape around her shoulders.
Bare feet padding along the floor as she started the kettle in order to get the coffee on the go.
"I always behave... I dont know what you're talking about" Storm spoke indignantly "I am an adult with a son and a wife... of course I behave!" She added, though couldn't stop the grin from taking her lips.
"Oh really?" Hermione quizzed with a quirked eyebrow. Watching as the younger girl leant out of the bed, stretching as far as she could in order to reach the bag Hermione had set up for her.
She brushed it with the tips of her fingers before losing her balance and slipping off the side. Hitting the floor with an almighty clatter as she disappeared from view.
"Ouch" she muttered quietly to herself, rubbing her temple for a second as she reappeared. Though she was soon rummaging once again. Pulling a large baggy tshirt from the confines of the bag, slinging it over her quidditch worked shoulders before standing up.
Hermione just watched, shaking her head in disbelief as she went about sorting two bowls of cereal. She had never met such a clumsy person in all her life. Storm was always bruised and battered. So much so she had asked Arty to set them up a magical first aid kit and had become well adversed to healing spells.
Storm was still smirking as she siddled up behind the older woman. Wrapping strong arms around her as she pressed tender kisses to Hermione's exposed neck. "I try to behave" she muttered before moving to grab the milk out of their magical fridge. Carrying on with the coffee where Hermione had left off.
Though she didnt feel like she needed it on that particular morning, it was their routine and Honeymoon or no Honeymoon she enjoyed the mundane calmness it brought her.
"Can I go swimming in the lake?" She asked after a moment of quiet, listening as Hermione tuned the wizard radio that sat nearby on a small table.
"You can, it should be safe enough. When I did my research on this particular spot I couldn't find anything untoward" Hermione admitted as she pulled her own mug to her lips. Blowing a cool stream of air over lithe surface of the hot liquid.
She figured Storm would want to dive in straight away, and was actually pleasantly surprised when the shifter hadn't waded in as soon as they had got there the night before.
"I can't wait to teach Joey how to swim" Storm spoke quietly, a small smile tugging at her lips as she did. "I bet he'll love it" she stated simply.
Hermione just watched her for a second, watched how her lips quirked upwards and she looked so serious even as her hair stuck up at every angle.
She was always so proud of the younger girl for how hard she worked and how much she did to try her absolute best for the pair of them.
"If he carries on this way he will, absolutely" She laughed at the thought. Their little boy was incredibly high energy already. He definitely kept them both on their toes.
"Do you think he'll play quidditch?" Storm quizzed as she moved to flop into the small sofa. Peaking over the back of it at Hermione who was eyeing her with something akin to dread.
"I really hope not" she spoke honestly. She loved watching Storm play, the younger girl always looked so exhilarated and free up in the air on her broom. But she hated just how often she was injured.
Storm knew Hermione struggled with certain aspects of her career. She would always catch her out when she tried to hide injuries or bruises. But she loved the game, and she could not wait for the world cup.
Of course having the opportunity to beat Krum was a bonus, but just playing in such a huge event would be immense.
The games were looming over them, and she was lucky enough to get to play with her best friend.
They had everything arranged, accommodation for all the family. Seats for everyone already sorted. The only thing that had her belly twisting and knotting was nothing to do with quidditch.
"Hermione" she started tentatively, watching as the older woman rounded the sofa and patted her legs in order to move them so she could sit down. "I don't know if there's anything to prevent..." she paused trying to form the words in her head before she spoke them aloud. "I dont think we can prevent another.." she stopped again "Joe incident" she stated finally.
They hadn't broached the topic as of yet and she wondered if the older woman had even considered the potential.
Hermione just looked at her, there was something knowing in her gaze. Storm felt silly then, of course she had thought of it.
"There isnt anything we can do to prevent it no" Hermione started tentatively, leaning into Storm's side. "The way I see it is we have two options.." she added taking in the worry in Storm's dark eyes as she continued. "We can either just not engage in any sort of sordid activity or we can try for a sibling" she admitted quietly.
Bringing a sibling into the mix wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. She had thought long and hard about it. There was no way Storm would go through the games without any sort of intimacy. The adrenaline the games pumped around the younger woman's body seemed to do something to her and a pent up Storm would become even more of a caged beast than she already was. That was something Hermione would never complain about.
She just hadn't actually expected the conversation to come up.
Storm had stared at her for a moment as if completely unsure on how to take the turn of events. Her dark eyes wide and almost startled as they lingered on Hermione's features. Soon panic gave way to excitement and she smirked a lopsided smirk.
"Do you want a second child?" She asked simply.
"Yes" Hermione stated factually. She had spent a lot of time considering their situation. Considering the threat of the shifters and the clans. She had decided that they had dealt with a lot worse. They had the ministry on side, and many fantastic witches and wizards. There was no doubt that they were not playing on an even field and the odds were stacked greatly in their favour.
"Just one more. If it doesnt happen then, we can always go through the proper processes afterwards." She spoke simply, reaching out to play with the longer hairs at the base of Storm's neck.
"So no pressure then!" Storm laughed, leaning into the older woman's touch. She was relieved to hear that Hermione had thought it all through.
They sat like that for much of the day. Just relaxing and enjoying each others company. Enjoying some of their favourite pastimes in the quiet confines of the enchanted tent.
Hermione curled up on the sofa with a good book, and Storm curled up with her head in the older woman's lap snoozing the day away.
They wouldn't move until the younger woman's stomach rumbled and called for feeding much later on.
