23. Chapter 23

Hello, everyone. If anyone is still following me or this story and is still active on the site, a huge hug to each of you! As research, I've been re-reading the reviews on this story, trying to glean areas where I might make improvements and adjustments. I've laughed at many and gotten a little misty over others. I can't thank you enough for all your support and encouragement.

It's because of you all that I'm finally taking the plunge and turning Thief of Hearts into a novel for publishing. I'm in the early stages still but am actively editing. I've set up an author platform as well, for anyone who wishes to follow me on this journey. The website is diana-barker dot com. I'm also on Facebook and Twitter (SMH...I swore I'd never be a Tweeter). Those links can be found on the website.

I'd also like to put out there that I would love to find a small group of beta readers if anyone is interested. If you are interested, you can find my email link on the website. Once I've finished my first couple of edits, I will contact people to let them know it's ready and to find out if they're still able to beta read the book. I'd like to keep the pool small, so I would only be looking for 5 betas right now. There is a questionnaire I would send out if you become one of the readers. You'd have about a month from the time you receive the book to provide feedback. My greatest hope would be that my betas would be brutally, but kindly honest. I want this to be a great read and need your help to do that. There comes a point after reading and editing one's own work when you start to fail to see the forest beyond the trees.

Before anyone jumps in to request being a beta reader, please understand that this book will be VERY different from the fanfiction piece you know. The overall idea and the action, suspense and romance will be there, but of course, the characters, their characterizations, as well as relationships will be different. Characters might be missing as well. All I ask is that if you volunteer to beta read the new, revised version, please keep that in mind as you read. Also, bear in mind that this is not going to be a quick process. It will be many months to a year or more until the book will be published. If and when that happens, I would definitely acknowledge each of my BR, if they were all right with that, in the book.

Again, even if no one volunteers as a beta, I just wanted to thank everyone here for their support. From the writers to the readers, you ALL created so a great community. Best wishes to each of you and happy 2020!
