A few weeks had passed and it was time for Kagome's baby appointment. She knew it was going to a girl but she wanted to make sure if it growing healthy. After dropping Leo off at school she and Hannibal headed to her obstetrician doctor office. She had bit back a grin as she remembered how Hannibal has sat down in his study and did a lot of research for the best obstetrician doctor that was around. He was getting really serious with his father role with their child. Even went to buy a lot of books for first time parents with newborns.
When they got to the office she saw a few other couples in the waiting room. Some just glance at them before looking back at their magazine or phones while a few stared at them a little. Kagome saw the envious stares some of the women gave her when they saw Hannibal with her. She just rolled her eyes at this went to sit down. Hannibal followed her but not before glaring at the men that were eyeing Kagome. After a few minutes the door from the exam rooms opened and a nurse poked her head out.
"Ms. Kagome Higurashi."
The two stood up from their seats and made their way towards where the nurse was. The nurse took her to do the usual physical exams before showing them to the room. Then she handed Kagome a gown to change into before heading out to get the doctor.
"Dr. Marton will be right in." The nurse said
She gave Kagome and Hannibal a smile before she left; closing the door behind her.
"So...how has the case been going?" Kagome asked as she sat on the exam table.
Since he had joined Jack's team he had become the Will. A new case appeared with a lot of stiff bloated bodies found a river dame.
"Two days ago another body was found that had the profiled like the other victims. He had craquelure on him like the others' had." He said
"Artist use those for the cracks that appear on oil painting as it dries and rigid with age." Kagome said
"Indeed." He said
She noticed that there was something else that was bothering him.
"Hannibal what's wrong?" She asked
"It would seem that your friend Kat has been talking to Will. The way she spoke about the killers was exactly like him." He said
She what he meant but didn't say anything.
It wasn't long till someone knocked on the door and Doctor Carmellia Marton, an older woman, came in. She gave them a bright smile and began the examination.
"How is everyone? Are you feeling any nauseous, dear?" Dr. Carmellia asked
"A little this morning but I'm fine now." Kagome said
"Good. Are you two ready to see your baby?" Dr. Carmellia smiled
After turning the screen to the ultrasound she lifted Kagome's top gown up a little and place the gel on her lower stomach. Then she the handheld on top of the gel before moving it around.
"It's been 8 weeks right?" Dr. Carmellia asked as she moved it around.
"Yes." Kagome smiled
Okay...aaand there he or she is." Dr. Carmellia smiled "Now the heartbeat may be soft right now but if you listen closely you might hear it."
With their high senses they were able to hear their babies heartbeat and it was the most beautiful thing they have ever heard. On the screen they saw the small feties. Kagome smiled with tears in her eyes when she finally saw her baby. She wasn't able to get this when she was pregnant with Leo as they weren't sure that she was pregnant. Hannibal couldn't help but show a true smile when he saw their baby. He felt a stroke of his ego went up since he helped to create this baby of theirs.
"Would you like your first photo of your baby?" Dr Carmellia asked
"Yes, please." Hannibal said
The doctor nodded and print out the sonogram for them.
Hours had passed since Kagome's appointment. Now they were at home with Leo and making dinner. Leo tilted his head to the side as he looked at the sonogram of his baby sister. It was the size of a bean right now and he didn't understand why.
"But where is the baby?" He asked
Hannibal smirked and silently chuckled while continued cooking.
"She's right there." Kagome said as she pointed to the little spot. "Right now, she's just a small little thing in mommy's tummy. Each month she's gonna get bigger and bigger."
"How did she get in your tummy?" Leo asked
Kagome's eyes widen with a gaping look and Hannibal paused from his cooking. She looked over at Hannibal and for once he was speechless.
"Um...we'll talk about that when your older, okay. Why don't you go feed Remy." She said "Shippo will be here soon to pick you up."
"Okay." He shrugged and got up from the chair.
When he was gone Kagome sighed in relief while Hannibal let out a chuckle.
"That wasn't funny, Hannibal." She glared playfully "You could have said something."
"I was just as shocked and unprepared as you were. It was quite amusing." He smirked
"Oh really, if you think so then when he is ready, you can give him the talk." She smirked
Her smirk got wider when she saw his eyes widen in shock and his body tensed.
"Not so funny now is it." She teased
He gave her a playful glare before returning back to cooking. Kagome smiled down at the sonogram once more placing it in the baby book that her mom had them. Once her mom heard about the news she was happy for Kagome. Though she still think that hers and Hannibal relationship were going too fast but was happy for her daughter. Sesshomaru and Kamiko were also happy for their pack sister. They were the only ones besides Kagome that knew who and what Hannibal was. As long as he treated her and Leo right and protected them they didn't mind. It didn't take long for Hannibal to figure out about what the Tashio couple are and was intrigued by them.
Speaking of them.
The doorbell rang, letting Kagome and Hannibal know that their guests have arrived. Kagome left the cooking to Hannibal while she went to open the door. While the couples were gonna have a nice evening dinner Shippo was gonna take the kids out to eat and to the movies. Kagome felt sorry for her eldest son for having to watch the kids but he swore that he didn't mind. When he and the kids left Kagome showed her brother and sister-in-law to the dining room.
"Osso Bucco." Hannibal announced
He and Kagome came in the dining bring in the second dish. Kamiko inhaled the scent of human with a smile. Once the food was placed on set Hannibal pour out the wine in their wine glasses, minus Kagome who was having water. When they were done Hannibal unbuttoned his suit coat before sitting down.
"Kampai. Omedeto to Kagome and Hannibal. To the brand new life." Sesshomaru said, lifting his glass. (Cheers. Congratulation.)
"To new life." Kagome smiled as she looked at Hannibal.
He smiled down at her as well and clink his glass against her and the couple.
"New life." He smiled

A few days later…
At the park Leo was playing with his friends while Kagome was sitting down on the bench with Remy. She had brought Remy with her for protection because of pregnancy her abilities had been getting weaker and lately she kept feeling that someone was following her. When she no longer had that feeling she decided to had back home. Once in the car she couldn't help but look up in the rearview mirror and glance her son. She could tell that something was bothering him and believes she knows why. Two days ago a boy name Scott McLatin, someone that he befriended, had gone missing. There were no leads but the mom blamed her ex-husband for kidnapping him and the dad blamed her. She could see that Leo might know what really happened. So she decided to park to the side and talk.
"Honey, do you want to talk to me about something? I can tell that something is on your mind." She asked softly.
"I...I saw Scott around the playground." He sadly mumbled
"What do you mean, Leo?" She asked and she didn't notice the boy anywhere.
"I think that he's a ghost, mommy. No one else sees him but me." He said
"Did he tell you what happened to him? She asked
"Just that he's buried where it smells like roses but it was crowded with the others with him." He said
"Others'?" She asked
He nodded
"There were other kids with him too." He said
He looked up and continued starting out the front window. Kagome weakly sensed a spirit nearby and looked out in front of her to see the little ghost boy. He was pale and blue, with dirt all over him. She can sense that he wasn't a vengeful spirit but she could sense sadness, fear and betrayal. The boy stared at them for a few seconds before turning and pointing towards the road.
"They want us to help them." Leo said
"Agree. Let's go." She said
Anyone that harms or kills a child didn't deserve to live, so she followed the ghost. So far there were five of them and they guided her were she needed to go. They made to a two story house that was out in the middle of the woods, Isolated from the world. She stopped by the mailbox and her eyes narrowed when it said McLatin on it.
"Scott, used to tell me that his mom had a cleaning sickness." Leo said as he stared out the window. "She never liked him getting dirty."
Not liking the sound of that Kagome drove in and parked in the lot. Her brows rose up when she saw a blonde hair in her late 40's vacuuming the grass.
"Honey, I want you to stay in the car with Remy." She said as she unbuckled her seatbelt. "Remy if that woman comes near, bite her. Something tells me she's not an animal person."
Remy growled in agreement.
The moment that Kagome stepped out of the car the woman stopped what she was doing and looked at her.
"Who are you? Go away. You're not welcome here." The woman said
"Hello, Mrs. McLatin my name is Kagome Higurashi, I'm Leo's mother. He was...friends with your son, Scott." Kagome said calmly
"Yes...Scott like to mention about your son. I don't need another casserole from another mother. Please leave, I just cleaned the place." Mrs. McLatin said as she shuffled back to her house.
Kagome looked around and saw Scott and the other children standing out of the woods. That's when she noticed the plants that were known to ward off evil spirits, growing around the house. She could tell that they were freshly planted. Then she noticed the rose bushes garden near her house and there were five of them. One of them looked two days fresh.
"Mrs. McLatin, what happened between you and your son?" Kagome asked
"What do you mean? I did nothing to him." Mrs. McLatin glared
"You have an Obsessive Cleaning Disorder. And it's hard to deal with that when you have children. But just because they get dirty doesn't give you the right to kill them." Kagome said
She wasn't going to sugarcoat it.
"I don't like what you are applying." Mrs. McLatin hissed
The woman pace back and forth as her eyes drifted to the rose and where the ghost children were. This let Kagome knows that she has seen them too and had been haunting her.
"You see them too. What about the other kids? Why did you harm them as well?" Kagome glared
"They were transpassing here. They were dirty and discussing. They even made my son that way." Mrs. McLatin glared as she was already losing it.
"He was your son. He was your blood. How could you live with yourself?" Kagome glared
"Go away now before I call the cops." Mrs. McLatin said as she hurried to open her door.
"Go ahead call them, because when they get here I'll show them were you buried your son and the other kids!" Kagome shouted
Though she didn't want the cops to get involved as she knew with metal disease she'll plead insanity. So she decided to let the children decide her fate. Walking over to the herbs Kagome ripped out a large handful of them, breaking the barrier that block them.
"Go, on." She said
The ghost children bodies flicker before disappearing. A few minutes later she heard Mrs. McLatin scream in horror before a loud thud was heard. Kagome walked calmly to the house and looked outside the window. There she saw feet dangling from above, not moving at all. Then she took out her winter gloves out before placing them on and grabbed a shovel. There she dugged up their graves for the police to find them. When she was done she sent the children souls to the afterlife along with the mother's before calling the police from the house phone. Then she left long before the cops came.
Beverly Kat (who was following Kagome and Leo) felt like she was betraying her friendship with Kagome by doing this. If Will was right then she was protecting her. After seeing that Kagome was busy at the park Kat decided to check the house. When she was able to get inside she checkout the place. She checked the fridge, looking at the meat and saw that it was normal. Then she went to check winery room which had another refrigerator that had various herbs and certain types of meats. As she looked closely at it she saw it human organs.
"Gottca." She smirked
She went to open it up but as she went to place it on the counter she accidently knocked over some wine. Before she could clean it up she saw some of it going through the floor. After finding the hidden door she went down and checked it out with her gun at the ready. She turned on the lights and her eyes widened in fear as she saw that she was in the layer of the Chesapeake Ripper.
"Oh my God." She gasped
Unknown to her Hannibal was already down there waiting for her. Sensing that someone was behind her she turned and some him standing there. They stared at each other down and Hannibal made the first move by quickly turning off the lights. Kat tried shooting him but missed when he ducked down. It took awhile but Hannibal got ahold of her and placed her in the sleeperhold. Once she was out like a light he placed on surgical table. He should have known that this would happen and didn't want to kill Kagome's friend but he has no choice.
