If there was anything odd was seeing Mephisto in the room. Yet the most perplexing was Rin's reaction to his presence. "It took you long enough to show your face here," Rin stated, crossing his arms. I didn't understand any of it. "What are you talking about Rin? Does Mephisto come visit you often?" I pressed, shifting to stand instead.
"Not often, but he does come to visit every now and then. When he can't bother to do that, he sends Shura. Not that Shura remembers visiting that is." I blinked once, then once more. "He messes with her memories?"
"That's right," Mephisto grinned, "Now, what happened to Ayaki?"
"How did you know about that?" Bon questioned, frowning at Mephisto. Akira gave a small smile in appreciation. Even though they haven't known each other long, they all helped save Rin from those demons. That was enough for now. "What does it look like? Besides, I would have thought you would have known with your contacts when you found out."
With a slight tilt of his head, Mephisto still gave his usual grin. "You never know. Contacts can sometimes be fickle things."
"Like you?" Rin shot back, looking tired already. To be honest, it felt wrong seeing Rin interacting with Mephisto like this. He was never meant to in the first place. Yet here he was doing the one thing I never though it needed to learn. How much these months have changed between us; yet he was still the same in a way. Protecting his friends. Mephisto gave a tsk, roving his eyes to Ayaki. "Given that I was rudely told my answer, I will be taking my leave. I would be preparing if I were you." With another pop, he was gone.
"I really hate when he does that," Rin muttered, glaring at nothing in particular. "Do you know what he's talking about?" Izumo broke the silence. "He's warning us to prepare for a war more or less since you guys got me back."
"So, what we need to do in the meantime is train and plan," Shima stated, lazily leaning against the wall. "You're all free to use the training rooms," Akira replied, eyes having remained on Ayaki.
Giving a slight sigh, Rin straighten as he looked at his former classmates. "I'll show you guys the training rooms and everything else that may be needed." Everyone stood at the unspoken command and trailed after Rin. I remained at the end of the group as he gave a brief overview of the rooms that we would pass. It was much like the typical training grounds you would find elsewhere. The only difference is that these had weapons you wouldn't have access to elsewhere. "Alright, this is the main training room. Mostly used for combat to perfect your battle skills. The following rooms are the single rooms for specialized training."
The group was taking everything in as he explained, unsure what to say. "Are the following rooms okay to use for magic combat?" Izumo asked. Rin nodded before going to show where all the weapons were stored. "This is obviously the weapons room. You're free to train with some of them, but the ones behind the metal wires and chains are off limits."
"Why is that Rin?" Sheimi murmured, looking at the weapons nervously. "They are contaminated for some, others Ayaki and Akira have yet to explain them to me so make sure to not touch them."
"Understood," I stated, having a small smile on my face.
