It was just that I had no idea how to end the story so I lost my spirit to write more of this but after watching the Rise of Skywalker and seeing the end of the saga, I finally know what to do and I want to write everything before my inspire fades away.
So here's the part you've been waiting for one and a half years so enjoy (:
As the nightmare set her free from its grasp, Alexia straightened under the covers while trying to catch her breath. She could not make out her surroundings but as her eyes adjusted to the darkness, she noticed that she was absolutely not in her own chambers. Feeling the movement on her left, she looked that way, only to see Kylo sitting under the covers. Alexia gulped, she was still out of air. How did I end up here? I do not remember coming to his chambers.
"Hey, are you alright?" Kylo whispered as he ran his hand on her left arm.
Alexia nodded slowly "Yeah, it was just another nightmare." she muttered "How did I get here?"
Kylo raised an eyebrow "Don't you remember?" he asked. Alexia shook her head "You fell asleep in the Panorama Room, therefore I carried you to your own chambers but before I left you, you woke up and told me that you wanted to sleep with me."
"Did I?" Alexia muttered to herself "And you did not reject me?"
Kylo frowned "Why would I?" he asked as he pulled his hand back.
Alexia closed her eyes and held her head with her hands "Kylo, you are confusing me right now." She looked back at Kylo upon hearing him chuckle softly "What?"
"You do not recall your memories from the Panorama Room, don't you?"
Hearing him say that made Alexia's mind race back to the beginning of the night. As the kisses they shared played in front of her eyes, her sceptic attitude towards Kylo dissolved into thin air. They were all real, then. Everything he told me, everything we did. He is not running from his feelings anymore.
But we cannot stay this way as the new day rises. It would be foolish for me to hope such a thing.
"Kylo," she murmured as she turned her body towards him "What'll happen tomorrow?"
Kylo ran his right hand through his brown hair "You know the answer Alexia, hearing it from me will only upset you."
"Then why," Alexia asked while reaching out to place her right hand on Kylo's cheek. Then she started caressing gently "Why did you come to me?"
"Because I was curious. I wanted to find out the thing that has been building up between us." he whispered as he placed his hands on Alexia's waist. Slowly, he pulled her towards him "It's not just about sexual attraction, there's something else but I still cannot name it. Nevertheless I am sure about one thing: We are messing with the forbidden space."
"I don't like this," Alexia muttered, her eyes were wandering on Kylo Ren's face "At least you will quit shutting me out when it's just the two of us, won't you?"
Kylo licked his lower lip "We shall see. Now, stop spoiling the mood, will you?"
Alexia rolled her eyes at him but a chuckle escaped her lips as Kylo pulled her to his chest, his head buried into her hair. Alexia wrapped her arms around him, and then raised her head upon feeling him leaving a kiss on top of her head. He caressed her cheek with the side of his index finger and kissed her slowly "We should sleep; it is the dead of the night."
Alexia laid down on Kylo's chest as both of them got under the covers again. His scent was all over her and feeling the heat of his body was enough to give her the feeling of safety. As Kylo wrapped his strong arms around Alexia's body, the only thing she could think about was the beating of her heart –it was so fast as if she was on a run.
Everything was too good to be real.
(Time skip)
"Morning, sunshine."
Alexia opened her eyes slowly, as her eyes adjusted to the light, the figure of the brown-haired man lying next to her became clearer. Upon seeing the way he was looking at her, a small smile found its way to Alexia's lips "I could get used to this." she whispered.
Kylo smirked as he spoke "Well, waking up to see my pretty face must be something exhilarating, I suppose."
Alexia rolled her eyes at him as she sat on the bed "I should get going, it's already breakfast time." she said and stood up. Moving towards the mirror while stretching, she casted a look at her reflection. She looked alive. Indeed alive.
With slow steps, Kylo approached her "When we step out of this room, you know how the rules work." he said as he leaned the mirror.
Alexia took a deep breath "I do, don't worry. I'll keep annoying you as your rebel apprentice and you'll be Force chocking me for my disrespectful attitude."
I still cannot understand why he, all of a sudden, decided to break the precious rules of his master? The Kylo Ren I have known so far would not become a caring man overnight. Something's wrong here –he must have hit his head to somewhere.
And at that moment, the reason of his unexpected change hit Alexia –it had all begun after Kylo wounded her with his lightsabre. Upon experiencing the horror it gave him, upon being on the verge of losing her; he indeed hit his head hard –the incident made him realise how much he cared about the girl even though he avoided every single contact with her.
The Mighty Kylo Ren was freaking out because he had hurt someone –unbelievable, isn't it?
That's why he had changed all of a sudden, then. He wants to understand the true nature of the attraction between us despite breaking all those rules Snoke set for him.
Kylo nodded slowly "I like the way how you put the pieces together, Alexia."
Alexia's eyes widened "How could you read my mind, you can't pass my walls anymore?" she asked, upon seeing the smirk on his lips she frowned.
"That's true, I cannot reach your mind anymore but at times of distraction, you are still an open book for me to read."
She crossed her arms while kicking Kylo out from her mind "Well, leave my mind alone." she said, then shook herself "Anyway, I have to go."
As she was walking past him, Kylo held Alexia from her left wrist and pulled towards himself, only to welcome her with his soft lips. After kissing a while, he parted their lips "Now you can go."
Alexia took a deep breath "This is crazy." she muttered to herself and without looking back at him, she headed to the door. As she opened the door, she came face to face with Nyrathen, who was walking past Kylo Ren's chambers. She abruptly stopped upon seeing Alexia exiting Kylo's chambers and began looking at her with red-hot glares.
While the door closed behind her with a vush sound, Alexia raised an eyebrow in Nyrathen's direction "What are you looking at?" she asked.
Nyrathen flipped her red hair and crossed her arms on her chest "What were you doing in there, Gradval?" she asked back.
Alexia smirked, she could feel Nyrathen's jealousy and it was so satisfying "The last time I checked, my inferiors did not have the privilege to question me." she said "None of your business, Nyrathen, now get going."
Nyrathen snorted as she turned on her heels and walked away with quick steps.
(Time skip)
The training was uneventful, everybody was minding their own business –even Nyrathen was not trying to make Alexia mad, which was something unusual. First time in a very long while, they had spent a rather calming training. At lunch, Lyonsse nudged Alexia with his elbow.
"You seem pretty energetic and happy compared to your usual self, Alex." he said, looking at Jai for approval. Jai nodded in his direction and turned to Alexia.
"Yeah, I've noticed that, too. Even your presence feels different –normally when you come , I always sense a tension building up in the air due to your hatred towards your life on the Finalizer. But today, when you walked into the training area, I sensed... excitement." Jai said, his green eyes didn't leave Alexia's sapphire ones for a moment; it made her feel like as if Jai was trying to see her soul "You were excited for the training but the thing is, you have been doing this for..."
"For nearly three months." Alexia finished his sentence.
"Dude, I bet there are things we don't know." Lyonsse muttered "Again."
Alexia shrugged "It is not that I choose not to tell you, believe me Lyo. The circumstances force me to do so."
Lyonsse rolled his blue eyes at her "You mean..."
"Master Ren!"
Upon hearing Jai; Alexia and Lyonsse turned back to see Kylo Ren towering over them with his helmet on. Alexia could feel his eyes on her "Gradval, The Supreme Leader requires our presence."
Alexia's eyes widened "The Supreme Leader? Right now?" she asked. Kylo nodded "Well, see you guys around then." she said to the boys and stood up, following Kylo. As they walked past corridors without talking, she couldn't help but wonder why Snoke wanted to see her in the first place –was it about the thing between Kylo and her?
No, it cannot be. If that was the case, Kylo would have told me.
She heard Kylo's metallic voice speak "Wait here for me, I need to check on something," he said and got into the control room which was on their right.
"Strange, I have never seen you before on the Finalizer."
Upon hearing someone calling her, Alexia turned back to see the owner of the voice. He was tall, not as tall as Kylo, and skinny with green eyes and red hair. Of course she knew who he was –Armitage Hux, the famous general of the First Order. She had heard about the speech he gave on the Starkiller Base before blowing up the Hosnian system.
Having such high ranks at such a young age, Alexia thought to herself. He must have the blood of billions on his hands.
"Oh, you must be Ren's apprentice." Hux said as he approached her "Alexia Gradval was it, right?" Alexia nodded "I assume that your master had mentioned a lot about me."
"Um no, actually." Alexia said "He never mentioned you but I've heard about you before I was captured by your Stormtroopers," she said, then stopped for a minute. What could she possibly lose if she showed her sharp tongue to this very general? "Which are not as well trained as you make it seem, General, are they now?"
In a matter of time, she began to sense the fury rising within Hux. He frowned as he spoke "What are you trying to imply, Gradval?"
Alexia flipped her black curls "Some of them, well how could I express it, cannot control their hormones in the presence of the opposite gender, which they don't always encounter most likely, do they?" she explained. The General was clenching his fists.
"My troopers are perfectly well trained, Gradval. I will not be insulted like this." Hux spoke, trying to stay calm but it was obvious that he was having trouble with it.
Alexia kept her smirk to herself as she responded in a careless way "Then the First Order and I have a different understanding of the term 'perfectly well'. What a pity."
Before hearing the door of the control room open, she felt his presence, which casted a chill down her spine. Even feeling his presence made her feel somehow different. The effect he has on me scares me.
"Are you trying to brainwash my apprentice, General Hux?" Kylo spoke, his voice still in that irritating metallic tone "I would not recommend such a thing."
Hux straightened upon seeing Kylo Ren, he wanted to seem as big as Kylo "Well, Commander Ren, it seems like you were unable to establish your authority with this one –her rebel spirit can be smelled from a mile away."
Alexia frowned while trying hard to restrain herself from using the Force on someone superior than her. I can tell your jealousy without reading your mind, you little rat.
The sudden change in Kylo's aura brought Alexia back to reality –he was getting furious with Hux "Never again, General, compare a Force-sensitive with your minions." Kylo spoke and he sounded threatening "Unlike the worthless souls you brainwash here, a Force-sensitive has a strong will that cannot be broken in the blink of an eye. My authority on my apprentice will not be judged by you."
He indeed hates the General. I never thought that he would roast someone with Hux's ranks in front of me.
Alexia turned to face Kylo –correction, Kylo's masked face –as they stepped into the escalator "You and Hux do not get along, am I right?" she asked.
"We have different ideals," Kylo responded "And he used to look down on me because he made it to the First Order with endeavour and progress but I only took advantage of my Force-sensitivity. He thinks that using the Force is cheating."
Alexia thought about what he had said "Well, he might have a point there, I mean we are cheating in life but it is pretty okay to use such a gift as an advantage. He is jealous of you."
Kylo nodded as the escalator stopped "That is another reason."
They stepped out of the escalator and walked into the dimly lit room, which Alexia had only seen the very first time when she was brought upon the Finalizer. Snoke's hologram was towering over them just as it did the last time due to its several time projections.
"I've seen this raw strength only once before. It's a great advantage to have you both in the Dark Side."
"And after your training is completed, First Order will have another commander."
Alexia shook herself while she bowed down in front of the hologram, just as Kylo did. The very last thing she wanted right now was any kind of distraction. She had to focus all her attention to shielding her mind from Snoke. If she did not succeed, well, the consequences would be indeed unpleasant.
She took a deep breath as she closed her eyes. I did this the very first day as well. Now, I am much stronger than I used to be. I must believe in myself and in my power. I can do this.
They heard Snoke's voice through the hologram "The Master of the Knights of Ren and his young apprentice, welcome."
Kylo Ren raised his head, so did Alexia "You've requested our presence, Supreme Leader." Kylo said.
"I wish to see how far you have come with the training." Snoke said "Gradval, come closer." Reluctantly, Alexia stood up and walked towards the hologram. As Snoke's invisible fingers reached for her mind, she gritted her teeth. She could feel how nervous Kylo was becoming with each passing second "Show me you progress, child."
Alexia closed her eyes and took a deep breath; she let calmness fill her insides as she showed Snoke what he wanted to see. The rest she hid –she hid them in the dusty corners of her mind and made them invisible that Snoke would not suspect. And just like the very first time he invaded her mind, Snoke took what would be enough to satisfy him and left the rest untouched, once more not realising all the hidden secrets he had missed.
As Snoke retreated from her mind, Alexia took a deep breath and stepped back "No need to be nervous, Commander Ren." Snoke said. Alexia gulped, so he felt Kylo's disturbance "Here I saw a great improvement compared to what we had there the very first day."
Alexia slowly walked back to stand near Kylo, who right now was feeling relieved because Alexia had been able to hide their memories from the Supreme Leader himself.
"However, I realise that the rebel within young Gradval has not been destroyed yet." Snoke finished his word.
"That rebel within her came out to be something stronger than I had imagined." Kylo started to explain "I am afraid we have underestimated the way her hatred towards the First Order fuels that rebel."
The expression on Snoke's face changed when he heard the word hatred "The hatred? Good, good. Using the hatred to fuel her drive –you have passed my teachings to your apprentice. If she has begun using the drives of the Dark Side to fuel herself, then it will not be long until I see a powerful, young woman freed from her infectious rebel obsession. Pursue the trainings, Commander."
After leaving Snoke's presence, they headed to the room where they used to meet for the mental trainings. None of them talked while walking, especially Alexia did not want to disturb Kylo because she could feel how thoughtful he was.
When Alexia locked the door from the control panel, Kylo took of his helmet and placed it on a chair. As he took some deep breaths, Alexia leaned the door and observed him. His brown locks were shading his face, he got his hair out of his sight, then he spoke "How did you manage that?"
Alexia frowned and crossed her arms "You need to be a little more specific."
He pulled a chair to himself using the Force, then sat down "How did you hide all our memories from the Supreme Leader? You, the girl who can barely hide a nightmare from me?"
Slowly, Alexia shook her head "Once more, Kylo, you underestimate me. You always did." she said, then took a step towards him "Plus, I don't think I have to remind you that you can no longer mess with my mind without my own permission."
Suddenly, she felt herself being pulled towards Kylo with the Force. When she opened her eyes, Kylo's hand were on her hips and he was looking up into her sapphire eyes "The gaps you leave between your words, do not think that they fall off my radar."
Alexia smirked as she leaned into him "Nothing about me falls of your radar, Kylo." she said and pressed her lips against his. Their lips moved in a synchronised way and as the kiss got deeper, their tongues fought for dominance. She could feel his gloved hand on the edges of her tunic.
As Kylo slowly pulled back, Alexia bit her lower lip "I still... cannot believe that you stopped running away from all the emotions which our kisses contain."
"I thought that I had all the time in the galaxy to figure them out one day," Kylo whispered, averting Alexia's gaze "But I don't –I realise it now."
