Author's Note: I know, it's been an age and a half. I decided it was only fair to wrap this story up and complete it for all the incredible readers who have read, reviewed, and given me an insane amount of love and support. This wrap up is for you. I hope you like it! (Or that it, at least, brings some closure!) I may come back and lengthen this chapter (add some lemons maybe?) or if people are really interested, revisit this in a bit and extend, expand, sequel-ize, etc. Let me know if you'd all like that! Anyway, without further ado, the last chapter, finally.
"A treehouse Bell? You build a treehouse without me?"
"If I say I built it for you do I get a pass?"
"Didn't you think I was dead?"
"Okay yeah, it was so I could run away and escape my family. And Raven. Mostly Finn, actually, that guy is annoying as shit."
"I heard that," Finn's voice was faint but clearly audible.
"Don't care. Go away." Bellamy barked back. "After we found out about the 100 we built a few more, and a lot of huts on the ground. I was going to move you right in... But with a baby on the way, you shouldn't be climbing up this old thing. I..." He looked nervous and his hands traveled down my sides, grasping at the sides of my stomach. "I don't want to..."
"The two of you can move into my cabin for now." A soft voice spoke out and I spun around.
"Aurora!"
"Clarke." She smiled, reaching forward to embrace me. "I've missed you, dear. Dreadfully." I inhaled that familiar Blake scent and I sank into her arms.
"You're alive. You're all alive. God, I didn't believe it." I grinned at her. "But you are. You're here, on Earth, alive, and..."
"I know exactly how you feel. Before we made contact, after the floating... we thought..."
"No." I swallowed, hoping the tears wouldn't make an appearance. "My dad."
"Oh, my darling. I'm so sorry." Her fingers ran through my hair and I instantly felt more at ease.
"Thank you. But as you can see..." I rubbed the sides of my ever-growing belly fondly. "There are other blessings to focus on." She smiled warmly.
"I'm so happy for you both my darling. I know how long you two have wanted this, pity the situation was so difficult."
"This child will be born on Earth, a child of the Earth, not of a box in the sky. Difficult or not, this is... perfect."
"I'm certain Lincoln will know everything we need to-"
"No."
"Not up to you, Bellamy," Aurora returned after Bellamy's sharp protestation.
"Not up to me? It's my baby!"
"Lincoln... that's Octavia's-"
"Octavia's nothing," Bellamy finished my question.
"Octavia's lovely boyfriend. He's an Earth healer," Aurora told me.
"He's a menace."
"I look forward to meeting him," I said peacefully, taking Bellamy's hand in mine. "I know a fair amount about obstetrics, but performing that level of medical care on myself while in that much pain? I'd rather have the help."
"Mom can help. She gave birth without medical help."
"Over 15 years ago," Aurora commented. "And this isn't a super clean box in the sky, as Clarke says. This is Earth, with all kinds of contaminants and the like. We could use his expertise."
"I agree."
"I don't want him anywhere near-"
"Because he's not good at what he does, or because you resent Octavia having an older boyfriend that you can't control?" I asked. Bellamy opened his mouth to retort, but he couldn't seem to find the words to speak. "Darling I understand that this isn't something you ever thought you were going to have to deal with as a big brother, but I'll remind you, along with all these supposed dangers you now see, there is a world of opportunities that she never could have dreamed of. She can be with people, and run and roam as long and as far as she could ever desire. She can fall in love, not just once but as many times as her heart desires. She could be with this Lincoln a few more days and move on to someone else within the hour if she wanted. She could marry him and have kids, Bell. Kids. Plural. Like I plan to do with you. I know you're scared and trying to be protective." I touched his cheek and smiled at him. "You are wonderful at protecting the people you love. It's that big heart of yours and I adore you for it. But that heart is going to have to find room for one more because Octavia is her own person and you cannot tell her what to do." He exhaled heavily and his forehead fell against mine.
"Unbelievable," Aurora said with amusement in her voice. "We've all been telling him as much for months to no avail. You're here for 20 minutes and he's already softening." She kissed my temple and stepped back. I'll go help the other children find their way. Bell, help your wife settle in. It's a long hard journey for a woman in that state and I'm quite certain she'd like a little time alone with her husband before getting the tour."
How long had it been? How much had my life—and his—changed completely? And yet his lips on mine still burned like fire.
"Bellamy," I breathed out, trying to pull him closer. Of course, my giant belly was a little in the way, but as per usual, my husband had it under control. He took my hand in his, and sitting on a bench, he pulled me into his lap, his arms wrapped around me, his lips latching onto my neck.
"You still taste exquisite," He murmured into me. "Everything is..."
"Different. Everything is different." I finished for him, settling into his heat, my fingers intertwining with his.
"And yet..."
"You are just the same."
"Exactly."
"I'm sorry, Bell. For scaring you like that."
"I'm sorry I let you out of the dropship." He returned between heated kisses to my neck that made it hard to focus. "I should have been the one who jumped off. Made you come to Earth with my mom and O." I shook my head.
"They would have floated you." I sighed into him. "Cleo here saved my life. She's the only reason I wasn't floated." He stopped kissing my neck then, and his head collapsed onto my shoulder.
"This... this could have gone so badly, Clarke. I thought, for so long, that this had all gone horribly wrong. I thought you were dead, that I couldn't even have saved you. That my actions... you knowing about O, you trying to save us all... I thought I had killed you."
"But you didn't, Bell." I turned to him and held his face in my hands. "It doesn't do any of us any good to focus on what was. Our future here is bright. We... we have hope, Bellamy Blake. We have a chance. And we'll take it together."
"I'm never leaving your side, not ever again." He swore.
"Even when we fight and you hate me?"
"Even when we fight and I hate you, I'm still going to love you like no one has ever loved anyone before, and I'm still going to fight tooth and nail to keep anyone from separating us. It won't happen again."
"Okay, but what if I need to pee, Blake?" I said with mock seriousness. "Are you going to insist on remaining then or do you think we could be separated for a few minutes every now and then?"
"Really Clarke? We were having a moment."
"You were being too hard on yourself and I was lightening the mood, Bell. Now. If you don't mind. I'd like to get back to the other thing."
"The other thing?"
"I haven't had sex with my husband in months. And your mom left us alone and threatened the others on pain of death at entering. So..."
"Clarke, you're pregnant."
"I seem to remember several fantasies you had on the Ark of seeing me all... fat like this. You seemed into it. Is the reality not living up to the expectation?"
"Trust me, Clarke, it is..." He shook his head and smirked a little, that Bellamy Blake charm slipping out finally, through his serious mien. "It is definitely not that. I am... very into how you look right now."
"Then what is it?"
"I just... You just almost went into labor! You just traversed space! Should you be having... I mean in your condition should you..."
"It's perfectly healthy, Bells. Just... we'll go a bit more gently. Not too gently though. This baby has made me horny as shit and I haven't been anywhere near my husband. It's been hell. So. Take off your pants, Blake. We're doing this." I stood up and lifted my shirt, his protest dying in his mouth. He just stared, his eyes lit with that dark passion I had missed so much. "There he is." I teased, kicking off my shoes, my pants quickly following. He stepped forward, running his hands down my arms as he knelt at my feet. His lips pressed against my rounded belly, as he gripped my hips gently.
"I love you." He murmured against my skin. "I love both of you, so, so much."
"We love you, too. Now. Dick. Out." The smirk he gave at that set my very soul on fire.
Epilogue
"Slow down, Cleo," Bellamy called out after his oldest daughter. I laughed and took his hand in mine.
"She takes after her aunt, which means she is going to ride that horse at breakneck speeds no matter what you say, so maybe we should just be careful she doesn't have the same fascination with knives." He shook his head.
"I guess I can take a minute to be grateful that Leo is following in his mother's footsteps and trying to become a healer and not a warrior," He sighed, shaking his head. I laughed at that. So we had been a bit off with the order of the kids, but we'd had good luck with having names ready for each of them. Cleopatra's 18th birthday was arriving in less than a month now, and Alexandra's 17th would be just a week later. Our darling baby Marc, my heart clenched at that name, but he was never meant breath Earth's air, as Octavia's husband always said. The stars in heaven wanted him by their side too much. He had died in childbirth, nearly taking me with him. Leo and Raphael had been the twins, 3 years after Marc's passing, and you could say they brought Bellamy and me to life again. Of course, the worry for the whole lot sent Bell towards a mental breakdown on a daily basis, but that was parenthood. And now, watching Cleo racing her horse against her cousin, Kennedy, the first cousins from our people in centuries, inhaling that fresh Earth air that never lost its sweet scent to me, holding hands with Bellamy I knew that it all had been worth it. Our people had finally come home.
