AN: Woah! Can't believe I let this drag on for a very long time -after looking at the last update. :0. I have meant to finish this long time ago to get it out of the way and to complete it. But things just get me super distracted *facepalms*

And sometimes writers block can REALLY make me struggle to write...

Anyways, as I have mentioned previously I have not watched season 7 at all nor do I plan on it. So I wrote this in my own way and if it contradicts to any canon events from the show, I want everyone to know I had this entire chapter mapped out way before season 7 was considered a thought (again, *facepalms*). So I apologize.

I have also was originally supposed to include a lot of flashbacks, but I found they would have got this story nowhere. It was then I came to the conclusion that leaving certain things to the imagination can be at its best ;).

Enjoy the final chapter!

Years have past since Wendy Darling finally returned safe and sound to Kensington Gardens. It felt bliss to be with her brothers again, whom she had missed so dearly. The moment she came to Storybrooke, she knew she wanted to be far from magic as much as possible; to start all over again. So along with John and Michael, they peacefully returned to England. Adjusting to life back in her old home had been more difficult than she imagined. They were meant to be dead. But those years in Neverland had put a stop to her normal life. Now she simply lived in a century she did not belong in. If only magic could reverse time and fate.

Wendy was now a young woman attending a local college. She also had a part time job at a small cafe. This was something completely unimaginable from her childhood.

She had enjoyed her time and new life nonetheless, everything in the nursery had remained the same. All the toys which gathered dust did not appear a day old since she left. But there was something new that filled the young woman with dread, which was the white gown that stood on a mannequin in the far corner. Resembling a phantom in the shadowy night.

Wendy had moved on from Peter Pan and Neverland as she left what remained of her girlhood behind. Though she was happy to be back with her brothers after a century, she dearly missed her parents, who were now dead. How she missed being greeted warmly every morning; even if her father would at times cast her a disapproving glance. Now she was engaged to a wealthy young man named Richard. She first met him during her shift at the café and Wendy should have claimed herself as lucky as many women would shoot envious looks in the school halls. Richard's family was ranked one of the wealthiest in Britain. He even bought a very expensive ring for her, which was clear diamond that shone so bright in the day and ever through the night.

The family mansion was huge; dominating over London's small neighbourhoods. It contained what every woman had dreamed of. With grand chandeliers to lavish kitchens, dining halls, a ballroom for parties and luxury bedrooms; it almost resembled a castle. However, Wendy was not happy nor in love with the man she was to marry.

From time to time, she would longingly stare at the ring and wonder how it could hold a candle to the precious necklace. Though this was not helping her in any sort, she wouldn't dare utter Peter's name. Wendy was now a woman and telling others of what magical realms possibly existed would deem her insane.

Or that she was really a storybook character.

At night, she would sometimes dream of a boy in a suit working at a pawn shop. This boy seemed he had no choice but to spend his time at the shop. Perhaps yearning to be free. A middle aged man once came into his shop, wearing similar attire and holding a goblet of red wine. Sipping away as the boy talked.

"Now, what is it with this bird girl you talk about?" He smiled and sat down on the chair, crossing his legs.

The boy watched the spinning wheel move, his gaze focused. "She's not just any girl."

"What about the boy Henry. Weren't you spending centuries seeking his heart?"

The man looked at the boy questioningly, awaiting his response.

He averted his gaze. "I was wrong, it was never him. If so, I would have been gone so long ago." He shook his head. "But I can't, not yet. Because she's not here."

He watched the man continued to look at him with his eyes keeping him in place. He looked as if he was analyzing the boy's soul.

"She's the one who flew away from home and came..right into my arms." The boy looked nearly whimsical.

"..Are you done?"

"Her name is Wendy Darling. She is my unfinished business.."

"Ah!" The man smiled raising his glass and stood up. "You really think you can bring her here." He chuckled. "Have you forgotten who has power in this realm? Your kingdom has turned you into a slave. Could you ever imagine that happening? After all, the gift of eternal youth is what you've always wanted.."

The boy glared, clearly not amused.

"It doesn't matter. Why should I answer to you. I want what's better for me."

" I hate to say this, but we're very much alike-"

The boy snarled. "We are NOTHING alike!"

"Oh, of course. I have been through the same life as you boy. I've done many terrible, terrible things. Fell in love with a gracious woman and realized I was too late to make things work. So Ive been doomed to my fate as King of the Underworld, there is no turning back."

He put his glass down and sat on the chair, crossing his legs casually and thinking.

"I believe Wendy should know the truth. It's never been too late for me."

"Tick tock.." the man smirked. "There is, however, only one way you can be closest to her." A crystal ball suddenly appeared in his hand, with swirling grey clouds inside. The boy moved toward it eagerly, eyeing the clouds movements awaiting to clear.

The ball then showed a young woman in a deep, peaceful slumber in a familiar looking bedroom. The Nursery.

"She's far moved on now, betrothed to another man. Why should she come back? Perhaps she's forgot all about you."

The image of the woman was not very clear, the boy waited until he could catch a perfect glimpse of her. When the clouds dispersed, he caught images being played before him: Wendy looking out the window, reading books, partying, waltzing with a man and laughing... anything that happens when you leave all the good things behind..

It nearly anguished him to see her with that man. The image of the woman sleeping in the Nursery came back into view. She looked so peaceful in the night; the boy didn't think disturbing her would be so wise.

He sighed. "I've got to try.." he looked at the man for a response, but nothing.

"Nothing can stop me, not even you. I may not be a leader anymore but no one has power over me." His teeth grit, leaving the man in silence. "You hear me, lad?" He approached him and put a hand on his shoulder. "I will ask you to do this one favour. I'm more than ready to move on, and if I don't get what I'm hoping for, I'm willing to pay the price. Got it?"

The boy released his grip and the man exhaled. "Very well, then.." He placed the crystal ball on the table.

...

The familiar forest suddenly appeared before his eyes. It felt great to have his skin kissed by the warm sunlight than being dungeoned at the dreary pawn shop. Birds chirping songs filled the air as well as the scent of fresh fruit from the warm breeze. All of the green trees were lined up like green castles of the Neverwood. The boy smirked; this was the kingdom he thought had vanished forever. It was bliss to think this would be his eternity; back to where he truly belonged. The kingdom cannot be gone unless the legacy and story of Peter Pan were to disappear from existence.

"Peter?" A voice broke out.

The boy whirled around to see a young woman stand several feet away from him. He felt his eyes widen in surprise and admiration as he knew who it was; his little Wendy-bird had grown into a beautiful swan. She was tall, graceful with long limbs and her curls hit above her waist like a dark waterfall. The hem of her midi, cream satin dress fluttered with the warm breeze along with her hair. It made her pale skin glow in the bright daylight. Peter took a deep breath as he locked eyes with the familiar emerald greens. At that moment, he wanted nothing more than to keep her to himself. Forever.

His bird flew back to him, he knew she would.

Peter sauntered towards the woman and the pair locked in an embrace. Arms gripped around him tight as she buried her face into his neck, her breath warm and soothing. How gently his fingers stroked her curls, reminiscing and reliving the tender moments from long ago. All the years of yearning for one another had finally come to this. Wendy never imagined how comfortable and happy she would be; in the arms of Peter Pan. They both stood for a long time; never wanting to let go. A warm breeze lifted the leaves, surrounding the pair; Neverland's spirit was aware of the reunion of two hearts.

They finally pulled apart and their eyes met wordlessly, arms remained draped around each other. Peter briefly took in her appearance from head to toe until meeting her eyes again.

"You changed," he muttered.

Wendy brought a hand to his face and cupped his cheek, assuring herself that he was no illusion. "Well, that's what happens in the real world."

He shook his head, and sighed. "You shouldn't have.." she could hear the faint disappointment in his tone as he slowly pulled away, avoiding her gaze.

"I'm sorry but this is what I've wanted," she said. "I could say the same thing about you, Peter. But you'll never change," her words were firm and jagged.

A small humourless chuckle escaped his lips. "I see you still got that fire going on," he gave her that charming smirk, which she had missed so much until now.

Wendy rolled her eyes. "Enough with your games and rubbish. Why are you really here, Peter?." She then widely gestured to herself. "And what am I doing here? I thought you were dead."

The Lost Boy nearly cursed himself for being so impulsive when he should know by now that Wendy was now a grown woman. There was no time or space left for a game. It had been over long ago.

"I want a good answer," she said with arms crossed.

"Alright," Peter was slightly annoyed by her unexpected attitude. "Yes, I am Wendy. But not how everyone in your world thinks." She continued to stare at him, inquisitively. "Long story short, I live in the Underworld."

The woman look at him in awe. There was no way this world was a lot stranger than she imagined. She shook her head, "No, it can't be. He's real, isn't he?" Her eyes wider than ever. "Hades.."

He nodded. "I'm afraid it is, love. And that's not all. I am his prisoner and my spirit cannot be at peace unless I have come face to face with my unfinished business," he grabbed her hand and caressed her fingers, exactly how they did when she was younger. "Which is you, Wendy-bird."

"But I don't understand, why.."

"Because you always believed in me," he said gently. "I know you're not a child anymore. But you having faith in me has been more powerful than we can both understand," he slowly slid his arms around her waist. "It has been stronger than what my boys, Tink and even Henry had for me."

Wendy wanted to scoff. "This probably explains why you come into my dreams. Do you want my heart now?" It sounded almost teasing.

He tucked a curl behind her ear."No..not like that, love." The classic twinkle in his jade eyes showed Wendy that this was no trick or game as she was so used to his old ways. But he wanted something else. Something more meaningful. Worthy.

Deeper.

A sudden flush of heat rose up to the girl's cheeks and she felt her heart want to beat out of her chest. Shaking her head, Wendy shoved him and backed away. All of this seemed wrong, but deep down she knew she desired the same thing.

"No, Peter. I can't...I..I'm so sorry.." her voice trembled and she then saw the pain and sadness flicker in his eyes. It truly hurt her to see him like this, especially all the risks and efforts he withstood just to be with her.

"I see then," he said flatly, his expression nonchalant. "It's about that man. Your fiancé." Wendy was surprised to hear no anger in his voice.

"If you love him, go ahead and live your life. I can't stop you anymore. After all, your happiness is all that matters.." he turned his back, daring not to meet her expression.

Wendy strolled vigorously towards him. "No, you are mistaken," she put her hand on his arm. "I don't love him," she added. "Please believe me. I am not happy and I have been wanting to leave him..". She eyed Peter intently if he'd been watching her from the corner of his eye, but nothing. Wendy continued.

"I thought it would be for the best and help me move on with my life. Its always been my dream to fall in love, start a family and grow old..," she felt her eyes sting with tears and cupped her face with her hands. "I..I..I.." she choked back a sob.

This caught Peter's attention, he turned around to see his Queen crying. Without further ado, he walked over and wrapped his arms tight around her. Attempting to halt her sobs, but to no avail. He recalled his last words before she left Neverland.

You'll be happy.

He clenched his teeth, wanting to curse himself for being wrong.

"It's alright, bird." The pet name along with his gentle words made her feel guarded. "I'm here with you now."

Wendy sniffed and lifted her head, emerald eyes meeting his. Her gaze thoughtful and curious. "Tell me," she said finally. He inwardly braced himself for what she was going to ask.

This won't be good.

"Who are you really? I know you're not some boy with kinship from Neverland." This question stunned the boy in silence.

"Can we please talk?" She pleaded, sliding her hand on his tie and vest. "I want to know everything about you before you were a Lost Boy.." she did not allow reluctance to stop her, had no fear of how he would react. The surprise of observing her courage was what kept him in place.

He let out a long, heavy sigh. He knew it would eventually...well, he supposed there was no use hiding it anymore.

"Well," he began, then hesitated.

She grabbed his hand and lead him towards a tree, he followed her and they sat down. She smiled gently and rubbed her fingers across his. "It's okay if you can't..tell me yet. I understand."

She wasn't rushing, wouldn't rush him. He knew he still had time. It was just…hard.

He'd been hiding himself for so long…he didn't know if he could give up that last game piece. It was the only one he had left. But he had no choice.

His mouth quirked, but every time he would hesitate, and rethink what he was about to say. Wendy was patient though, and she remained silent while he contemplated.

Eventually, Peter was able to start. From the beginning.

"I was an orphan...a very, very long time ago," he admitted. "My father was a ...blacksmith. My mother a baker, but both made barely enough to live a good life. They both caught an illness and died when I was very young. I don't remember them much.." His thumb grazed on hers, keeping his eyes focused.

"A good neighbour in our village was an elderly spinster. She took me in the moment she heard the news.." Peter recalled that simple lifetime, the warm eyes of the lady whenever she greeted him tenderly.

"But she too, passed away from old age by the time I was a young man.."

"So...what happened, then?" Wendy asked slowly.

"An old friend of my father's had tried to set up my marriage with his daughter. I refused of course, I had nothing to offer."

"What was she like?" Wendy asked tentatively. Peter looked up at her, shaking away from his reverie.

"She was...sweet. Very meek, but friendly." Wendy sometimes reminded him of her, in the beginning. But her love of adventure made her brave and daring in a way his fiancée had never been.

"It was then I decided to fend on my own. Everything for me was so overwhelming, I didn't know what to do. Life was so hard and it made me think how horrible the world is.." He paused, exhaling sharply. "So then I became a con man. I would make trades and deals with local villagers. It was my way of tricking them into getting the money I wanted. Some of the young boys joined me as well and made business," he scoffed, shaking his head at the silly thought. Thinking of how greedy and selfish he had been.

Wendy leaned in closer, shifting more comfortably to his side. He tightly wrapped an arm around her, instinctively. This had been a lot more difficult than he thought it would be. It actually got to him to speak about it out loud.

"No one was happy with what they got in return, but at the time I felt I was doing the right thing. Some of my boys weren't too satisfied either. I was not fair with them and didn't know how to do the whole business stuff. They all decided to go fight in the ogre wars, with all the men from the village. But I.." he stopped and looked away from her. He knew his history between many people had been intense and ..complicated, he did not want to see her expression change when she looked at him.

"I was a bloody coward," he spat almost forcefully. "I wasn't ready to grow up and have responsibilities of a village man. Like my father and his friend."

Peter sighed heavily. He told her how he failed as a man to provide for himself, how he met a sorceress who gave him the magical bean to Neverland, and how he abandoned everything to get the freedom he wanted. Wendy then recalled how John and Michael showed up to rescue her because she had been there for so long. Her mission to rescue Baelfire had been a failure. The King showed his true nature by throwing her in the cage; the Wendy-bird locked up.

It was cruel, but true cowardice...

"I didn't understand anything then..Neverland didn't make a difference.." he said, his voice cracking. "Sometimes I thought how my life would have been different if my parents were alive. I was completely lost and alone. Perhaps it was that and my selfishness that deepened over time..made me who I was.."

A demon...

The boy for the first time in a while, chanced looking up at Wendy.

Her expression was...more pitiful than sad. But she looked thoughtful; processing his whole story.

"Well, now you know." Peter said.

He kept his gaze up at the clear blue sky, but Wendy could feel how tense he was despite his calm demeanour. She knew what he was thinking.

"I'm not surprised, it's how I would think of it to be.." Wendy finally said, making Peter sneer slightly.

"I am not dismissing your past because of my feelings for you." She fully caught his attention now. "You have made..mistakes, Peter. And I know you regret it. I saw it in your eyes before you died. You have earned my forgiveness."

Peter's mouth moved but he said nothing, she continued.

"Thank you so much for telling me," she said, holding her hands to his face. He may not have showed it, but she knew how difficult it was for him to confess his true past; that this was his way of offering so much as she had given him.

Wendy felt like she knew him...all of him. Even the darkest parts that made him a demon which he tried to protect from her, and everyone. The impact of it did not terrify or disgust her in a way she thought it would.

It was all real...no dream or fragment of imagination...

Wendy felt his arm around her tighten and he leaned down, eyes on her lips. In response, she immediately drew herself closer.

They were just barely millimetres apart when a strong tremor erupted from the ground, pulling them away by force. Wendy shrieked and held onto Peter, who shielded her with all his strength. The earthquake becoming stronger, made their bones and every inch of their body rattle.

"Peter...what's going on?!" Her voice filled with fear.

"I'm not too sure. But don't let go..." he roared. Losing her was the last thing he wanted. He knew it was him. The boy squeezed his eyes tight and growled quietly.

The tremors continued. Wendy did not dare open her eyes. At that moment, many thoughts swirled in her head.

Is it time?

Am I going to die...

There are many things she wished she had done in her life. She felt she had missed experiencing the things many women her age had, but was hoping to have a fresh start to everything. But if her last moment now meant being in Peters arms, she would have not lived her life in vain.

Suddenly the earthquake came to a stop, Wendy still held onto to Peter regardless. Unsure of what had happened or where they could be..

"Open your eyes, Wendy-bird.."

Slowly, she forced her eyes open. Taking a small peak, all she saw was a dark place with crimson light. Her eyes then fully opened and she stood up, taking in her surroundings. Everywhere she could see were volcanic rocks and red lava. It wasn't until she looked down below and her eyes widened in horror. She stood on a cliff and hundreds of feet below was a pit of fire. A wave of heat blew at her face and dress, the excessive temperature nearly burning her bare skin.

"It's time.."

Wendy whirled her head and approached Peter, who watched a cliff form in front of his eyes, sounds of rocks grazing on one another. A pathway had formed what had been left of a cliff, as if creating a bridge. "What's going on?"

The boy looked at her and held her hands, she notice his mouth move when her eye caught something else; an opening with blinding light which lead to who knew where. Wendy squinted, the light hurting her eyes. She switched her gaze back to Peter, his expression uninterrupted.

"My time is up, love..I need to go.."

Wendy found herself paralyzed in place, speechless. Her emotions spiralled out of her control, but attempted to compose herself. She knew this was bound to happen, so why was she so surprised ?

"What? No, Peter I.."

"I'm sorry," he muttered, his face just millimetres away from hers. "But you don't know how evil he really is He has done far worse than anyone I know. It's either I move on or end up in the river of lost souls..."

Her breath hitched at the sound of her heartbeat racing. The boys jade eyes searched hers, which she adored so much. She didn't know what to say, and could tell the King was at a loss for words himself.

He smiled at her then, genuinely. Not the boyish smirk which she knew too well.

"I would love to thank you for..being a part of my life.." he whispered.

"W-What's going to happen to you.." she brought her hand to his face, his skin hot like the fire.

"I don't know, but I will accept my fate whatever it may be.." he placed a gentle hand on her bare arm, the heat tickling her skin. "If it means I'm free from Hades, I don't care.."

Wendy's lip quivered at the moment and she threw herself into his embrace, not wanting him to see her cry again. "I..I'm gonna miss you.. so much..."

She felt his face nuzzle her head. "Me too, Wendy-bird.." his words gentle as he stroke her curls. "As long as you believe in me, you know where I will always be.."

They stood in a tight embrace wordlessly, enjoying their last moments together. Peter Pan sighed as he held on to his beloved; he thought how they have come to this in spite of what he put her through all those years before. Their past was complicated..but he knew she was all he had left. He couldn't simply abandon her like that, but they had no choice anymore. After all, it's what they've yearned for more than anything..

Rocks crumbled into the the lava, dissolving and leaving everything behind. The pair felt a blast of heat blow onto them, like a tornado of fire wanted to engulf them whole. Peter then looked down at Wendy and she smiled sadly at him. He pressed a tender kiss on her forehead and slowly drifted away like the wind, taking each step cautiously.

"Goodbye, Wendy Darling..." he smiled.

"Goodbye, Peter Pan.." she sniffed, watching him turn around and walk into the light, towards a new life.

Until we meet again...

"You won't be seeing him again," came a sudden voice from behind. Wendy whirled around and a middle aged blond man stood behind her, dressed in a suit like Peter's "So sorry to ruin this beautiful moment. But I believe someone has interfered with my contract.." his tone laced with disappointment.

Wendy breathed hard, balling her fists. "Who are you?"

The man smirked and chuckled. "Why, how rude of me. Allow me to exchange some pleasantries. My name is Hades, God of Death."

She stood her ground, not saying a word.

"Don't look so upset. After all I would expect a fine London lady to be polite." He drifted closer, his smile growing wider with realization. "That must make you Wendy Darling..."

"What do you want from me?" She backed away.

"Don't worry, my dear. Just want to say hello. It's a pleasure to meet Neverland's queen.." he then laughed humourlessly. "Could be why you're able to come here to be with your King.."

It then dawned on her, she saw what had happen in the pawn shop. All the years have taught her to see through tricks and deception; Hades was no different. She shook her head and stifled a gasp. "No, you brought me here..by his will," she said, but he remained quiet. "Tell me. Since when does the God of Death do favours for his slaves?"

His smirk vanished, much to her relief. "You've got a fiery spirit. I have my reasons which I prefer not to share. I keep my deals and favours strictly confidential." A red flower then appeared in his hand and he held it out for her.

"Here, a little souvenir from the Underworld.." he attempted to distract her with his charms. Wendy plucked it from his grasp and sniffed it, the scent sweet like the aroma of her garden.

"Thanks," she muttered, not looking at him.

"Guess my job here is done. Farewell." A puff of red smoke encircled him and he vanished.

Wendy sighed and crossed her arms. She flicked the flower out of her hand, watching it slowly tumble into the fiery lava. The flower dissolved into black ash then bubbled into the volcanic pit.

...

Her eyes opened and she sat up in, breathing heavily. Wendy was back at the Nursery, everything remain unchanged. The window was ajar, the curtains flying along with the warm summer breeze. Pale moonlight washed over the floor and rug, giving it the ethereal feeling of nostalgia.

It was all a dream. But it felt too real.. She knew it was him, there was no mistake about it. She felt it. Even Hades was there.

The thought of being face to face with the God of Death made her shudder; especially the spine chilling Cheshire grin.

Images of the boy replayed in her mind. Wendy brought up her legs and hugged herself; the thought of seeing him brought a smile to her face. She tried to hold back a giggle. Even though it was most likely the last time she'd see him, knowing he was now at peace brought comfort to her heart.

Wendy outstretched her arm towards her nightstand to open the small drawer, allowing her hand to rummage through to find the necklace. Her hand caught something round and smooth, she pulled it out and plopped back on her bed.

The pink jewel was the same as it been since she received it from Peter. Not a single brass or scratch had dented with age. Wendy smiled and hugged it to her heart; warm memories playing in her mind.

This is the best gift..

She then rested her head on her pillow and threw her blanket over her, closing her eyes as she continued holding onto her most precious possession. Hoping everything will be fine.

...

A few weeks later, Wendy returned to school and walked through the corridors. She found herself surrounded by a crowd of students, sounds of their murmurs and chatters filling up the hallways. This was not unusual, it was a common occurrence before her classes started.

As she walked to her classroom, she felt her phone vibrate in her purse. Suppressing a groan, she reached out for it and forced herself to see the message she didn't want.

Hey Wendy. I've been trying to call you. I am very sorry for how I've acted. Hope you're alright. I think we could make this work. Call me when you can. Xoxoxo

-Richard

Rolling her eyes, she thrusted the phone back into her purse and strolled towards her desk. She had called off her engagement with Richard weeks ago. It did not go too well as she expected, he had been more angry than hurt. They met at her place and had a talk over it with tea and biscuits. Wendy had seen the anger flash in his eyes, though remained very calm and level headed the whole time he seethed. It was then that she realized he never loved her; only wanting to use her for the sake of his personal satisfaction and lust. She even called him out for being a jerk in the nicest way possible, her patience wearing thin. Without hesitation, she yanked off her ring and put it in its case, handing it out him like a lost fortune.

He grabbed it with a growl and had slammed the door real hard, making the decor rattle slightly. Wendy then sat and pondered, not a single shred of guilt in her heart after what she had done. The man was an insane lunatic and it was the wise thing for her to do. It had been a burden that was finally lifted off her chest that made her feel satisfied and smile like she never did before. Few days later, she had had also called the wedding boutique shop informing them that she would be returning the wedding dress.

Wendy brushed off the thought and flipped through the pages of her book, her mind focusing on the lecture's lesson. Pictures of beautiful mountains and forests that looked as if they took place in a classic folktale. Her thoughts becoming lost in the book's content.

"Yes it is, indeed. Mr..." she heard the professor rummage through his papers as he adjusted his monocle. He then cleared his throat. "Panrucker.." he said. At that moment, Wendy's eyes followed the professor's gaze as the name seemed strange and felt her heart at the pit of her stomach.

Wendy did not know what to do; she either wanted to faint or flee from the classroom as far away as possible. From the corner of her eye, she saw the boy speaking to the professor. She allowed her eyes to get a full glimpse of him without him noticing her; Wendy thought it be best if she avoided him completely. But something about him was different, he seemed a lot more older, mature. More like a fine, Englishman than an ill mannered Lost Boy. Those jade eyes of his said a lot.

He may have changed, but Wendy knew deep down, it was him.

The rest of class the professor discussed about classic literature. Wendy fought the urge to talk and answer questions, she did not want to grasp the boys attention unexpectedly so she remained silent.

This can't get any crazier..I wished I had been dreaming..

When class was over, Wendy got up and hoisted her purse over her shoulder, briskly walked through the halls. Never wanting to look back.

Can't this day be done already. She internally groaned at herself.

...

Peter walked out of class. It seemed so strange to him. The young woman who kept her gaze focused on the book seemed very familiar. He had wondered who she was and there had been a unique aura about her.

As he walked outside the hall, he saw her trudge through the corridors in a rush. However, there was something that he found on the floor: a pink necklace. He picked it up, assuming it had been hers. It was no doubt very beautiful, he found it's reflective light very captivating. The boy saw this as the perfect opportunity to find out who she really was, so he put it in his pocket.

...

Wendy sat at the bench of the campus grounds, wanting nothing more to be alone and clear her head. She nervously nibbled on her sandwich, attempting to clear her mind from the crazy events from the past few weeks..

Everything hoped to be for the better, but she kept thinking how it could be possible. It was hard for her to finish her meal especially with her anxiety escalating. Exhaling deeply, Wendy brushed the crumbs off her skirt and drank her water; the coolness relaxing her lungs.

"Hello.."

Wendy turned around, the very familiar voice made her heart flutter inside out. It was then she met eyes with Peter Pan, who looked like an entirely new person. Seeing him again sparked a unique feeling within her; a mixture of happiness and disappointment. She had been emotionally prepared to move on from him completely.

A nervous glint in his eyes caught her off guard and he hesitated before opening his mouth. "You're in my class..Wendy, is it?"

A sinking feeling erupted in her chest; the young man had no memory of her or perhaps of his past life. He most likely felt the same way as her as he did not belong in this century. Wendy remained silent and bit her lip, thinking now would be the perfect time to walk away and never look back. There was no way she could bear what might have happened even though she itched to know every single detail.

It was then Peter slipped his hand into his vest pocket and took out her necklace. Wendy's eyes widened. "I saw this fall out of your purse and..thought you would want it back.."

Reluctant as she was, she slowly plucked it out of his hand and put it back in her purse.

"I know this is going to sound strange.." he chuckled lightly, trying to avoid eye contact. "But I feel like we have met before.."

The boy then found the nerve to approach her slowly, his smile grew wider. It was more innocent than smug.

"Please correct me if I am mistaken.."

There was no turning back. Magic or not, Wendy knew she could no longer allow fate to keep chasing her. She needed to learn to embrace it fully. Without thinking, she nodded. "Yes..we have.." she said abruptly. "Because Peter Pan never fails." she added with a grin.

Peter's face then lightened up with realization and he grabbed Wendy around the waist. "My Wendy-bird, I've missed you," he said swing her around in his arms. She giggled.

Wendy then laughed. "How is it you.." she put her hands on his arms. "Please do tell.."

"Well," he said, his old smirk returning. "Let's just say people like me are rarely given a second chance for a happy ending..." Wendy tried not to laugh, her heart overfilled with joy.

"Who could that be..?"

"Zeus.."

Wendy tried not to look too surprised as she knew too well that crazy things do exist. In the end, he had been redeemed and forgiven. She wrapped her arms around him.

"Well, I don't care," she felt his tender touch around her body. "I now know we can start our forever. From here.."

Peter's eyes twinkled. "Yes.. I would love that.."

At that moment, Peter Pan and Wendy Darling shared a romantic kiss under the London trees. The breeze and air welcomed their new reign, with two hearts and souls sharing an unbreakable bond. Magic could not change time but it did one thing: reunite. The future of the king and queen of Neverland was made anew.

The End..

AN: I know this is finally it! It makes me sad to see this story has completed. This is honestly one of my very first fanfics I wrote and it has been quite a great journey for me. I was actually quite young when I started to write it and now seeing this accomplishment completed is what makes me happy. But if I am being true to myself, I would say a lot of great reviews are what kept me motivated to continue on with this story. :)

This is a strange ending for Peter and Wendy but I will be honest that these two have and always WILL hold a special place in my heart. I have read many versions and adaptions of Peter Pan and got to say that in the end, I will still choose the original story or the Disney version (though Disney kinda ruined DarlingPan's original relationship and development). And I find that they should have a happy ending in some Aleternate Universe. But I got to say I don't find the DarlingPan fandom is as popular as it was 5-6 years ago when OUAT s3 aired.. And its sad to see good things end..

As I have mentioned previously, I think I will stop writing fan fictions and may move on to writing short stories for pure leisure purposes (I do NOT do creative writing for a living unfortunately). If I ever do confirm any writings in the works, I'll definitely post an update for my followers! Don't forget to leave a review! :)

Take care everyone!
