Emma took the pie out of the oven just as the first guest arrived. The boys, Grandpa and John had been kicked out of the house, and had apparently gone fishing with Curt. The Baldwin sisters couldn't make it, as they had business in Rockfish.
"Yoo hoo!" Corabeth called, Aimee trailing behind.
"Hello Corabeth." Grandma greeted her, and Elizabeth took Aimee to the stairs where they played with their dolls.
"Did you see Martha Rose and Grace on the road?" Olivia asked.
"No, but they will probably be here soon." Corabeth smiled and pranced over to help.
Taking a break from the stuffy kitchen, Emma headed to the porch and scanned for a bicycle. Even though she had only given birth a short time ago, Martha Rose stuck to her cycling to burn off all the 'fat' she had gained during her pregnancy. Emma smiled as she saw a bicycle slowly wind up, getting closer and closer. Martha Rose was sitting at the front, Grace in the basket, safely strapped in of course.
Martha Rose parked the bicycle and hopped off, scooping Grace in her arms. She slightly smiled when she saw Emma waiting. "Have you been there long?"
"Nope." Emma dashed down the steps to look at Grace. She was adorable, with a blonde tuft of hair like her mama. "She's wonderful."
"That's true." Martha Rose smiled. She had become more of a friend to Mary Ellen once they got over G. W, and matured.
Once they got inside, everyone crowded around Grace. "She's beautiful." Mary Ellen smirked.
"I thought you would never say so, Mary Ellen!" Martha Rose teased before sitting down on the couch to chat.
After they had pie, Grandma, Olivia and Corabeth stayed in the kitchen to wash up and catch up. Joy, Elizabeth and Aimee went upstairs to play with dolls and watch over Grace, and the others headed outside to play some games.
