Hello and welcome to the finale of NCRS Volume 2.
Only 1 chapter after this and I'll be done with NCRS for 2019.
To recap what happened last time, Team RWBY and NCRS went out on a mission while shadowing Oobleck, Barret, and Otacon. Upon arriving at Mountain Glenn, our heroes start to know each other a bit more while doing field work. Once everyone went to sleep, Ruby spotted Cardin and the White Fang nearby, only to get captured by Sephiroth.
With Ruby kidnapped, will the rest of her friends and teachers will come to rescue her? And what is the White Fang planning this time? To find out the answers, let's get started!
Also, there won't be any openings for this chapter and the upcoming ones.
Showdown at Mountain Glenn
[Dream]
In the dream, a young Natsu starts to see an entire village set on fire, numerous people and faunuses are running for their lives. However, some of the villagers have been murdered and/or eaten alive by numerous Griffons, Nevermores, Ursas, and Beowolves.
The young Natsu got up and runs all over town to find his family, only for him to trip and fall on the ground as a burning wood piece crushes his leg, causing the young boy to shout and cry in pain.
"Mom… Dad… Big Bro…" Young Natsu cried out in pain and fear. "Anybody! Help! Please help me!"
The little boy continues to cry as a shadowy figure starts approaching him, causing him to scream even more.
"It's okay kid." The shadowy figure said as he lifted the burning debris off of the young dragon faunus. "I'm here to help you." The shadowy figure picked up the baby boy and starts to run out of the burning town.
"Where's my family!? Help me find my family!" The young Natsu begged with tears falling from his eyes.
[Dream Ends]
Mountain Glenn, Campsite
Natsu continues to groan and move around in his sleeping bag with a terrified expression on his face. Natsu let out a gasp as he woke up after feeling someone licking his face. He looks over to see Zwei licking his face.
"Oh, hey Zwei." Natsu yawned, earning a bark from Zwei. "Don't worry, it was just a dream."
Zwei whines a bit and barks a few times with sad puppy eyes. He then points his nose over to where Ruby's spot was.
"Wait, where's Ruby?" Natsu asked with a puzzled look on his face. He then looks over the rest of his and Ruby's team, who are sleeping. "Hey guys, wake up!"
"What's wrong Natsu…?" Cloud groaned as he and the others start to wake up. "Bad dream?"
"Guys, Ruby's missing." Natsu told the others, alarming Yang.
"My sister's gone!?" Yang shouted, waking up Oobleck, Barret, and Otacon.
"Why the hell y'all shouting?" Barret sighed. "I'm trying to get some beauty sleep."
"It's Ruby. She's gone." Natsu told the teachers and trainee.
"Gone?" Otacon asked as he puts on his glasses.
"Everyone! Grab your weapons!" Oobleck instructed. "Miss Rose may be in trouble!"
Underground Base
Ruby wakes up and sees two white Fangs Guards dragging her by both arms through the underground city. All around her, White Fang members are at work, doing various things such as piloting a Paladin to carry large shipping containers.
"Hey, watch it!" Cardin shouted. "What are you trying to do, blow us to the moon?"
"We're doing our best, human!" A White Fang Guard shouted back, infuriating Cardin.
"This better be important Sephiroth." Ruby looks up to see Sephiroth walking out of a railcar with Roman and Hazama hopping out. "Because let me tell ya, we have had a day."
Sephiroth simply snaps his fingers while glaring at the two guards. The guards bring Ruby over to the three.
"Well, if it isn't the little flower herself." Hazama smirked.
With the others
Zwei leads Oobleck and Ruby's teammates to the hole that Ruby fell into with Crescent Rose nearby.
"That's Ruby's Scythe!" Yang cried out.
"Seriously?" Ragna asked before looking over at the hole. "Did she fell?"
"Oh no…" Otacon gasp in shock and regret. "Damn! How could we have forgotten about it!?"
"What is that you forgot?" Blake asked, raising a brow out of curiosity.
"Do you guys remember what you said yesterday before arriving here?" Otacon asked.
"Yeah, Mountain Glenn used to be an expansion of Vale." Yang recalled. "What does this have to do with anything?"
"You see, before the Grimm turn this place into a ghost town…" Barret started with a sigh. "People began building a subway system below the city."
"They've been working in caves?" Blake asked.
"No no, Mountain Glenn was Vale's first serious attempt at expansion." Oobleck stated. "It worked for a short period of time, thanks to an aggressive perimeter defense, and unique transportation: an underground subway."
"Why would they develop a subway system underground?" Cloud asked.
"To carry citizens safely from the new territory into the main Kingdom." Otacon answered. "Sadly, without the many natural barriers Vale had to protect its borders, Mountain Glenn was doomed from the start. As the end drew near, the citizens of the territory made one last attempt at survival: They took up shelter beneath the city! In massive caves that they had cleared out for the subway. And they had cut themselves off from the surface."
"There's an underground village?" Natsu asked.
"That's one way of putting it." Barret answered as he looks down at the hole. "Until an explosion decide to f*** them over. It opened a huge crater within the mountain, giving the Grimm access to the city. In order to prevent the disaster from spreading, the Kingdom sealed off the tunnels, creating the world's largest tomb."
"So that's why it's one of the Kingdom's biggest mistakes." Snake said, looking over at the giant crater.
"We need to find Ruby now!" Yang shouted in concern while Oobleck's thermos turns into a flamethrower.
Underground Base
Ruby slid across the ground after Roman punched her in the face. She groans as she held her nose with her hands while looking up at the three.
"Wow! You are much more manageable without that oversized gardening tool of yours." Roman laughed.
Ruby growls and gets up before charging at the villains, only to phase right through them. This confuses Ruby until she trips and stumbles across the floor.
"What's wrong little flower? Having a hard time?" Hazama taunted with a laugh before he sends out an ouroboro chain. The chain wraps around Ruby tightly, squeezing the girl as Hazama pulls her over. "So, what brings you here?"
"Hey boss!" The three villains look over to Cardin, who is pointing over to the railway karts. "We're all set!"
"Get everyone on the train." Roman ordered before turning to the trapped Ruby. "You either come with us or you'll be Grimm Food."
"I will…" Ruby paused as the ouroboros continue to squeeze her, tightening around her bit by bit so Ruby's movements are restricted to twitching. "I will never go with you!"
"Very well then. Shame that we have to cut this beautiful flower into a bloody pile of rose petals." Hazama sighs as he makes his ouroboro chain lift Ruby up in the air. "Sephiroth."
"With pleasure." Sephiroth chuckles as he draws out his odaichi and prepares to end Ruby's life until…
"FIRE DRAGON ROAR!"
"WHAT is going on here?!" Roman groans before he, Hazama, Sephiroth and Cardin spotted numerous White Fang grunts flying up in the air after a fire burst behind one of the crates.
Ruby noticed the ouroboro chain is slightly loose thanks to Hazama's distraction, causing her to squirm before she can finally move her legs. She smirks before kicking Hazama right in the groin.
"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" Hazama's voice went high pitch in pain as he falls on his knees, causing the ouroboro chain to disappear as Ruby jumps on Roman's shoulders, pulled his hat down over his eyes, and proceed to run over to where the explosion was at.
"Where do think you're going?" Ruby gasps and stops once Sephiroth appears right in front of her. He prepares to stab Ruby until a White Fang guard crashes into him, giving Ruby a chance to escape.
"Mr. Honoka! Are you okay?" A White Fang guard asked while Hazama gets back up on his feet.
"I'm fine." Hazama reassured, brushing off the dust on his suit. "Attach this cart and spread the word: We're starting the train."
"We haven't finished yet." The White Fang guard pointed out, only for Roman to point his cane at his throat.
"Do it or I'll FINISH you." He threatened.
"Ruby!" Said person looks over to see Yang and the others running over to her. She immediately gave her little sister a big hug.
"Are you okay?" Weiss asked.
"I'm fine." Ruby reassured.
"Here." Ragna holds out Ruby's scythe to her.
"Thanks Ragna." Ruby said before giving Ragna a quick hug. She then pulls away and looks at the others. "Listen! Torchwick got all kinds of weapons and robots down there."
"Wait, Roman's here?" Cloud asked in here.
"It's not just him! Cardin and the White Fang too!" Ruby added.
"That son of a bitch…" Barret growled. "It's time for Mister Winchester to get educated."
"Well, Well. Look who's here." The group looked over to see Hazama, Cardin, and Sephiroth appearing after materializing from a bunch of feathers. Hazama lets out a small giggle and smirks.
Ragna's eyes widen with a gasp before his expression changes into anger. "TERUMI!"
"Wait, that's the guy who abducted your sister?" Blake asked in shock.
"Good to see you…"Sephiroth chuckled before glaring at- "Cloud."
Cloud lets out a gasp as his fist tighten with anger, only for Barret and Oobleck to step right in front of the others.
"Mr. Winchester!" Oobleck shouted in a demanding tone. "Would you mind explaining to us why you're working with criminals!?"
"This is my choice to work with them." Cardin answered with a chuckle. "Just like when you guys made the choice to take my dream away from me."
"We only did that because you were saying shit about your school and classmates!" Barret shouted. "This was on you because you broke the rules!"
"Rules are meant to be broken Professor Wallace." Hazama stated while holding a finger up. "Hell, I'm sure Ozpin has done that numerous times."
"You know Professor Ozpin?" Ruby asked skeptically.
"Of course I know him, Little Flower." Hazama answered with a smile. "Me and Ozpin go way back. But if you want to know more, why don't you ask him? Oh wait. You won't get the chance!" He then lets out a maniacal laugh.
"Terumi..." Ragna growled in annoyance as he took out Bloody Scythe and points it at Hazama, Roman, Cardin, and Sephiroth. "You're gonna pay for abducting my sister, you son of a bitch!"
The group took out their weapons in anger as they prepare to strike.
"Woo, no hesitation." Hazama smirked. "But I'm afraid we got a train to catch."
"You won't get away that easily!" Natsu shouted as he and Snake fired shots at the villains, only for Neo to jump in front of them as the five villains shattered like a mirror. "Not again!"
"Damn!" Snake cursed as the speaker turns on.
"Get to your places, we are leaving now!" Roman announced as the remaining White Fang members start to retreat.
"Are they dumb?" Barret laughed while holding his stomach with his left hand. "They know that the paths have been sealed off."
A loud train whistle goes off as it starts to go down the tracks, causing everyone to stare at Barret with deadpan expressions on their faces.
"I spoke too soon…" He sighed and rolled his eyes.
"We need backup. Let me call Jaune." Ruby said as she took out her scroll.
"I'll call Sun." Natsu said, taking out his scroll and looks at Snake. "Snake, call Meryl."
"I'm on it." Snake nodded and took out his scroll before the three dialed in separate numbers.
With Jaune, Meryl, and Sun
The three team leaders are in their respective rooms, laying down in bed. All three of their scrolls lit up and vibrates, waking them up. They all grabbed their devices and picks up the call, only to hear nothing but static.
Back at Mountain Glenn Underground
"I can't get through." Ruby groaned.
"We got nothing too." Natsu sighed as the three put their scrolls away.
"W-What do we do now?" Otacon asked in a panicked tone.
"I believe there's one option left…" Cloud said.
"We're stopping that train!" Ruby finished as Natsu took another one of his pills.
On the Train
A White Fang member standing on the train hears a noise and looks outside the train to see rose petals. He brings out a communication device.
"I think they're on the-" He started until he was pushed off the train by Barret.
Front Car
"They're on what? Answer me!" Cardin demanded as he shuts off his communication device. "Stupid filthy animals…"
"What happened?" Hazama asked, looking over at Cardin.
"I think they got on the train." Cardin answered with a sigh.
"Then grab some cargo and get their asses off this train!" Hazama ordered as Cardin, Roman, and Sephiroth to deal with their enemies. He lets out a sigh before opening one eye. "These pests are more persistent than I thought… Interesting…"
Caboose Roof
"Hurry! We must get to the front and stop this train!" Oobleck instructed as the others began making their way to the front.
Weiss stops once she spotted an opened a hatch. "Uhh Professor Wallace? Doctor Oobleck?"
"What is it Miss Schnee?" Barret asked, looking back at the heiress.
"What's that?" She asked, pointing down the hatch. The others walked over and looked inside to see a bomb.
"It's a bomb!" Otacon gasped, scaring Team RWBY and NCRS.
"We've got baddies!" Ruby shouted, pointing at the huge amount of White Fang members climbing onto the top of the train. She and the others heard a beeping sound, prompting them to look over and see the bomb flashing red.
"Let's get the hell off of this death machine!" Barret shouted as he and the others began running to the other caboose roof.
"Detach the caboose!" Oobleck instructed, looking at Blake and Cloud.
"We're on it!" Blake and Cloud nodded as they jump down onto the connectors and get ready to cut the connection, only for it to uncoupled itself. "What the?"
"It detached itself!" Cloud shouted up.
"Guess they really don't want us on this train." Yang said as both Blake and Cloud climbed back up.
Oobleck looks back to see the detached caboose exploding. "That's not good…" He shook his head.
"We're not done yet guys. Look!" Snake shouted as Natsu and Ruby are holding another hatch open. The others rush over to see another bomb.
"Another bomb!?" Ragna asked.
Otacon hops onto the roof of the third train car with a worried expression on his face. He opens the hatch to a third bomb.
"They all have bombs!" Otacon shouted back.
The bomb under Team RWBY, NCRS, Zwei, Otacon, and the teachers charges up and starts beeping and the cart they're on detaches itself.
"Hurry!" Ruby shouted as he and the others run to the next cart.
"Why are they doing this!?" Natsu shouted.
"Kill them all!" A White Fang member shouted as he and the other members charge in, prompting Team RWBY and NCRS to jump towards them.
Yang blocked an incoming kick from a member and low sweeps him, flipping him. Yang winks at the guard before punching him down the hatch.
Snake ducks underneath an incoming punch from a member before uppercutting him in the jaw, flinching him. Snake took out his knife and stabs the member in the shoulders before finishing it off with a sasae tsurikomi ashi.
Blake rushed forward and slices down a line of troops before knocking one off a train.
Ragna slams his sword down before changing it into a scythe. He rushes forward and spins his scythe, taking down a few more guards.
Weiss charged forward and froze more guards and attacks them, knocking them out in the process.
Cloud performs a baseball slide, knocking a few guards off their feet before slashes in an arc around himself, sending them flying off the train.
Ruby took her scythe out, launched herself forward, and swung it at a few more guards, taking them out as rose petals land next to them.
Natsu launched himself forward performs a hurricane kick after igniting his foot on fire, burning and knocking off more guards.
Oobleck looks back to see the detached caboose exploding, creating a crater as multiple types of Grimm fell through and start to chase after the train. "That's not good…"
"They're luring Grimm into the city!" Barret alarmed the two teams.
"Wait, that's what they're doing!?" Cloud gasped in shock.
"Yes! The explosions are creating openings for the Grimm!" Otacon answered, waving his arms frantically.
"That's insane!" Blake exclaimed as the car behind Oobleck detached itself.
"We have to hurry!" Oobleck shouted as he, Otacon, Barret, and Zwei rushed over to the two teams.
"Schnee, Belladonna, Xiao long, Dragneel, Strife, Bloodedge!" Barret called out, catching their attention. "You go inside and stop the bombs!"
"What about the rest of us?" Ruby asked.
"We'll find a way to stop this train." Snake answered.
The group moves forward. As the train continues towards it destination, White Fang members start to pilot multiple Paladins and jump to the top of the train while Ruby, Snake, Zwei, Otacon, Barret, and Oobleck are running.
"Up ahead!" Oobleck shouted before the six come to a complete stop upon seeing a Paladin. He takes a sip from his thermos before transforming it into its weapon mode, a small flame burning at its tip. Zwei barks, prompting he's ready for an attack. He jumps and flips in the air as Oobleck bats him, turning him into a small fireball. The Paladin is seen shooting, only for it to get knocked off the train by the combination attack. The Paladin tumbles on the train tracks, and explodes when it hits a barricade.
"Now you see why I love dogs?" Barret asked.
"Yeah, we got it." Snake answered with a deadpan expression.
Another Paladin appears in front of Zwei and prepares to fire, only to get knocked back after Barret and Oobleck fired numerous attacks at them.
"Let's get them, Rexy!" Otacon presses the button on his control as Rexy jumps up in the air and changes into flight mode with a hovering device. Rexy rushed towards the Paladin and flashes a bright light at it, blinding the pilot.
"My turn." Snake jumps and performs a roll before firing rapid shots at the Paladin's leg, making it lose balance as it falls off the train. He looks over to Zwei, who barked at him with a smile. "You are one brave dog."
Inside the Train
Natsu, Yang, Weiss, Cloud, Blake, and Ragna hopped inside the train car as they landed on their feet.
"I guess this is what we trained for." Yang said.
"Here, this should help you." Weiss said as she handed four magazines filled with Dust vials of different elements.
"Sweet, fire and electricity." Natsu grinned as he loaded them into Crimson Lotus, but decided to eat one fire dust crystal to replenish his energy.
"Thanks Weiss." Cloud smiled as he, Ragna, and Blake loaded them into Buster, Blood Scythe, and Gambol Shroud.
The group sprinted forward, only to stop once a blast nearly hits them. They look up to see Cardin, resting The Executioner on his shoulders.
"Long time no see, losers." Cardin taunted with a snarky laugh.
"You guys go ahead." Natsu said, activating the claws on Crimson Lotus. "I'll kick Cardin's butt."
"I like to see you try, Dragon Doofus." Cardin scoffs as the two charge at each other and swung their weapons, forcing them into a deadlock while Yang, Weiss, Cloud, Blake, and Ragna run ahead.
"Cardin, do you have to work with them?" Natsu asked in anger. "They're using you! Please, come back to Beacon with us!"
"They know my full potential!" Cardin shouted, pushing Natsu out of the deadlock. "And I'm about to show it to you, right now."
"I've tried to be reasonable…" Natsu sighs before launching himself towards Cardin and swipes his claws at him numerous times, only for Cardin to get hit by a few while countering the rest.
Second Train Car
Yang, Weiss, Cloud, Roman, and Ragna entered another train car and proceed to move forward, only for Neo to land in front of them.
"This chick again?" Ragna sighed, rolling his eyes.
"This one's mine." Yang said, firing a shot to distract Neo as the rest to continue. Yang steps forward toward her opponent, staring down as Neo gives a sinister smile.
Yang tightens her fist, and throws a simple forward punch towards Neo's face, which is deflected with a white flash of unknown origin from Neo, causing Yang to stumble back. Neo opens her umbrella and continues to dodge Yang's attacks.
Yang gets angrier and increases the speed of her attacks, only to get kicked to the side by Neo and collapse on the ground. She immediately gets back up and continues to try and attack Neo, only for the mute girl to pull Yang's arm in with her own left arm and performs an axe kick to hit Yang on the chin before kicking Yang in the stomach with a perfect sidekick.
Neo opened her umbrella and goes on the offensive while Yang fires Ember Celica defensively. She fires one blast at Neo's feet, shattering a fake as the real one is now sitting on a crate.
Third Train Car
Weiss, Cloud, Roman, and Ragna continue to run, but stops once they hear the sound of revving up ahead. A figure is seen dragging a chainsaw along the floor. The camera pans up, revealing the White Fang Lieutenant.
"You three go on ahead!" Weiss told Cloud, Blake, and Ragna.
"Are you gonna be okay alone?" Cloud asked in concern.
"I'll be fine. Focus on the task at hand." Weiss said, taking out Myrtenaster.
"Just don't get yourself killed." Ragna warned as he, Blake, and Cloud follow him, but not before blocking the White Fang Lieutenant's assault and allowing Weiss to strike.
"Finally. I get to kill a Schnee." The White Fang Lieutenant chuckled menacingly as Weiss gets into a fighting stance.
Fourth Train Car
The trio stopped once a bunch of black and silver feathers spiral around before they merge together, creating Sephiroth.
"I won't let you three progress any further." Sephiroth said as he draws out Murasume and spreads his wings out.
"I'll take care of Sephiroth." Cloud told Blake and Ragna, tightening his gloves. "You two deal with Torchwick and Terumi."
"Try not to make us look bad." Ragna smirked.
"Piss off." Cloud smirks back as Ragna and Blake continue forward. Cloud jumps up in the air and slams Buster down at Sephiroth, only for him to block it with Murasume as the impact created a dent below Sephiroth's feet.
"You've definitely grown." Sephiroth admitted with a smirk, before pushing Cloud up in the air. He jumped and slashes Cloud, sending him backwards. Cloud landed on his feet and slides back with an angry look on his face.
Fifth Train Car
The duo entered inside as Blake gritted her teeth upon seeing Roman, standing in front of them.
"Hello Kitty Cat. You miss me?" Roman taunted as he twirls Melodic Crugel. "You know, we really gotta stop meeting like this. People are gonna talk…"
Blake gave Ragna a nod, who nods back in understanding and ran past Roman. The cat faunus start moving towards Roman and right when Roman was about to attack her, Blake created a fire clone thanks to the dust as it explodes right in Roman's face, sending him in the air.
Blake jumps up and delivers some midair strikes to knock him down, then lands in a fighting stance. Roman gets back up and fires a shot at Blake, only for her to create a stone clone to block the attack.
She leaped towards Roman and prepares to strike, only to create another shadow clone. Roman blocks a flurry of attacks from Blake and tries to strike her with an overhead blow, but she dodges back and creates an ice clone that traps his weapon.
As Roman attempts to retrieve his weapon, Blake performs a vertical slash that sends a shockwave down the train car, destroying the ice sculpture and knocking Roman into the door where he drops his weapon. Before Roman can stand up, Blake steps on his chest and holds her blade to his face.
"Why are we fighting?" Roman asked. "I saw you and dragon boy at the rally. We're on the same side and you know it."
Six Train Car
Ragna entered the room and took out Blood Scythe, only to see no one in the train car before he gets kicked in the back, sending him flying into a crate.
"Damn it…" Ragna grunted as he got back up to see Hazama behind him, holding Jormungandr in his hands.
"You should've knocked first." Hazama taunted while twirling his weapon. "It's very rude to barge in like that."
Ragna growls before getting back up and swung his sword at Hazama numerous times, only for him to dodge by spinning around like he's dancing. Hazama then swings his knife at Ragna to block an incoming strike, locking both weapons.
They break free out of the deadlock and with a flick of a wrist, Hazama changed his weapon to a scourge and swings it a few times, forcing Ragna to go on the defensive position. Ragna looks down to see a green circle energy, prompting him to slam his right fist down and glows dark red, shattering the circle.
"Wow, you've gotten smarter since the last time we met." Hazama whistled in amusement, only to get punched in the gut by Ragna. He let out a grunt as his fedora flies off his head, causing his hair to spike up.
"You should know that there's not a lot of talking in a fight, asshole." Ragna glared at Hazama before charging at him and changes his blade into a scythe and swings it a few times, prompting Hazama to swing his scourge defensively.
With Weiss
The Lieutenant runs towards Weiss as she raises her weapon defensively before using Myrtenaster to draw a pale blue circle in the air, forming a force-field. The Lieutenant tries to saw through it, only to get knocked back.
Weiss dodged another assault before she spins and slashes him again. She followed it up with a graceful flip over him before slashing at his head and landing on the other side of him. Upon seeing an incoming attack, Weiss ducked underneath it before backflipping out of range and throws out a barrage of slashes and stabs that sends him into the air and back onto the ground.
She continues to dodge and strike back, angering the Lieutenant as Weiss holds Myrtenaster in front of her and concentrates, mixing yellow Dust with a glyph to create a haste glyph beneath herself to increase her speed. Weiss charges forward and creates a series of glyphs that surround the Lieutenant as she leaps and begins ricocheting off each of the glyphs, slashing him extremely quickly each time she passes him. Weiss prepares to deliver the final blow, only for the Lieutenant to move back to dodge.
"Come here, princess!" He shouted as he grabs Weiss' face before brutally raising her above his head and slamming her into the ground, causing debris to be flung around. He then throws her into the air and prepares to attack her with his chainsaw.
With Cloud
Cloud and Sephiroth continue to clash swords with one another until they lock weapons with each other again. Sephiroth lets out a simple chuckle as he starts to overpower Cloud until the blonde swordsman pressed a button on his sword, conducting his blade with electricity thanks to the lightning dust, electrocuting Sephiroth in the process.
Cloud smirks and starts to overpower Sephiroth, only to barely budge and noticed Sephiroth laughing as starts to overpower Cloud again.
"I won't fall for that trick again." Sephiroth said before kicking Cloud in the gut and swings his katana, only for Cloud to twirl his sword to deflect the strike.
Cloud landed on his feet and fires a shot while charging towards Sephiroth, only for the vulture faunus to disappear before reappearing again with five clones. The clones fly towards Cloud and prepares to attack, only for Cloud to jump above the attack and slams Buster down, shattering one clone.
The four remaining clones began to fly around Cloud to confuse him. He took a deep breath before he glows blue and yellow, activating his Semblance. He starts to attack the clones at a fast rate and shattering them quickly.
The real Sephiroth appears above him and flies down to stab Cloud, only for the blonde swordsman to block the attack as he pushes Sephiroth back before slashing him a few times, getting him to stumble.
"I'm gonna ask you this one time: Why are you cooperating with the White Fang and Roman Torchwick?" Cloud demanded, causing Sephiroth to smirk before he chuckles menacingly, confusing the blonde swordsman. "What's so funny?"
"Isn't it obvious, Cloud?" Sephiroth chuckled. "The attack in Atlas few years ago… Working with Roman and the White Fang… Mountain Glenn… They're nothing but stepping stones… Stepping stones to something even bigger. So big, that Remnant will be consumed by darkness."
"Consumed by darkness?" Cloud asked in shock and confusion. "You mean the Grimm?"
"There are other things that are far more terrifying than the Grimm." Sephiroth stated. "Like losing a loved one."
Cloud was left in shock and fear at the thought of losing those he cares about, remembering what happened during the Attack in Atlas. He then heard the door from the previous train car opening behind him. He looks over to see an unconscious Weiss thrown to the floor with the Lieutenant emerging from the doorway, holding his chainsaw.
"Weiss!" He cried out.
"So what's it going to be Cloud? Will you stop me or save your princess?" Sephiroth taunted.
Cloud gritted his teeth before rushing over to Weiss and fires a few electric balls at the Lieutenant, paralyzing him. He puts his weapon away and picks up Weiss, carrying the heiress in his arms, allowing Sephiroth to fly over to the Lieutenant before using his illusions so they can escape.
"Mmm…" Weiss groans before opening her eyes. "Cloud…?"
"Weiss, are you okay?" Cloud asked in concern.
"I'm fine." Weiss reassured with a small smile. She slightly looks away with a small blush on her face. People have called her princess, but she never thought that she'll be carried like one. "Y-You can put me down now."
"Oh! R-Right." Cloud said before putting Weiss down with a small blush on his face. "Sorry."
"I-It's okay, Cloud." Weiss reassured, adjusting her dress. "Come on, the others need help."
With Natsu
Natsu stumbles back after Cardin slugs him into the gut, grunting as he slowly gets back up. He looks over to see Cardin charging at him to deliver the final blow.
"You're supposed to be the leader of Team NCRS?" Cardin taunted with a laugh. "Taking out your pathetic friends will be a walk in the park. No, they're not even worth being food for the Grimm."
Hearing those insults infuriated Natsu, who is tightening his fist with anger as small sparks of flames can be seen.
"Why don't you be a good animal and stay down?" Cardin asked as he raised The Executioner up before slamming it down at Natsu, who instantly blocked it Crimson Lotus. "The hell!?"
"Don't you EVER talk about my friends like that!" Natsu roared, engulfing his claws with fire and electricity with the latter thanks to lightning dust.
"Wait, he's using lightning!?" Cardin asked in shock before getting electrocuted due to his weapon making contact with Natsu's.
Natsu roars even louder before he began slashing Cardin numerous times with his claws. He swipes his claws in an X shape, firing a wave of fire and electricity at Cardin, knocking him into the air.
Natsu removed Crimson Lotus and changes them to twin tonfas. He began firing balls of flames and electricity at Cardin before leaping towards him.
"LIGHTNING FLAME DRAGON FIRING HAMMER!"
"Crap, crap, crap, crap!" Cardin panicked as Natsu slammed his tonfas in Cardin's gut, sending him flying towards the train car door.
With Yang
Yang storms towards a smiling Neo before throwing a heavy punch, only for Neo to counter it and begins kicking Yang back. Yang unleashes another blast from her gauntlets, which Neo blocks with her umbrella.
The two spar briefly, hand to hand, before Yang grabs Neo's foot and pulls her closer to throw her, only for Neo to perfectly counter by grappling Yang and using her momentum to throw her into the ceiling, knocking the blonde girl unconscious.
Neo slowly approaches Yang, pulling out a blade from her umbrella as she raises the blade, ready to kill Yang, only for Cardin to burst right through the train car door and crashes into Neo.
Neo lets out an inaudible grunt in pain as she and Cardin slowly gets back up. She looks at Cardin with an angry glare and a pouty face.
"Don't blame me. Blame him." Cardin pointed over at the damaged door as Natsu hopped through the hole, glaring at the former Beacon student and mute girl before looking down to see the unconscious Yang on the floor.
"Come on Yang, wake up!" Natsu begged, shaking her shoulders to wake her up.
"Come on, let's finish them off." Cardin told Neo as the two prepare to charge in and attack their opponents with Natsu getting ready to defend Yang.
The two villains looked over Natsu's shoulders with surprised expressions on their faces. Natsu turns around to see a mysterious masked woman with black hair and a white bird-like mask that resembles a Grimm, wearing shallow cut black and red dress with black shorts underneath, beaded necklaces and a belt that wraps around her waist and carries her weapon's sheath with a long black object and red sash attached, red armored gauntlets that protrude outwards and solid black gloves, black mid-thigh high leggings and black heels.
"Is she a friend of yours?" Natsu asked Cardin and Neo.
"Don't ask me Pinky, I never seen her before." Cardin said back while Neo nods in agreement.
"Hey, who are you?" Natsu asked the masked woman, who just dashed past Natsu to attack Cardin and Neo with a red samurai sword with a black hilt, prompting the two to dodge as the masked woman stored her sword away.
"Whoa, she's fast." Cardin gulped in fear.
The masked woman slowly draws her sword out again and points it at them, causing Neo to grab Cardin before they disappear with her Semblance.
"Wow, that was so cool!" Natsu gushed with stars in his eyes, but stops as he sniffs a few times. 'Wait a minute… She smells like Yang!' He thought.
The masked woman looks over to Natsu and the unconscious Yang, only to swipe her sword to the side, creating a red portal as she walks away from the two.
"Hey wait! Who are you!?" Natsu shouted, only to get no response from the masked woman.
Yang starts to regains some consciousness and slowly gets back up. As she opens her eyes again, she gets a brief glimpse at the masked woman before she disappears.
"Oww… My head…" Yang groans rubs her head, still reeling after just regaining consciousness, before looking over to a confused Natsu. "Natsu?"
"Yang!" Natsu smiled before hugging Yang tightly. "Oh thank goodness, you're back up!"
Yang lets out a small yelp and blushes from how sudden the hug was. Though she doesn't hate it as the hug was more comforting and warm with the latter thanks to his semblance. She smiles before returning the hug, unaware that Natsu picked up Yang's vanilla and orange scent.
"Come on, let's go help the others." Natsu said, pulling away from the hug and helps Yang get back up on her feet before running ahead.
Yang looks at Natsu running ahead of him as her blush starts to grow bigger before a huge smile forms on his face.
'He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed…' Yang admitted to herself. 'But he definitely has the heart and courage of a huntsman. Guess I am falling for him…' She shakes her head and follows Natsu with a smile on her face.
With Blake
Blake pointed the tip of her blade closer to Roman's neck, earning a grunt from the criminal.
"Oh, still feisty. Sadly, that won't change anything." Roman asked, infuriating Blake. "Do you really think a little bow on top is gonna make people forget who you were? What you've done?"
As she grits her teeth at his words, Blake hears the door from the previous train car open behind her to see Weiss and Cloud running over.
"So, what's it gonna be Blake?" Roman asked, only to get knocked unconscious when Blake kicked him in the face.
"Hey Blake, where's Ragna?" Cloud asked.
"He went ahead of me." Blake answered, pointing at the door ahead. "I think he might be fighting Terumi."
"We better help him." Weiss said as she, Blake, and Cloud heard the door opening again. They look over to see Natsu and Yang running.
"You better not start without us." Natsu grinned.
"So Terumi is the only one left?" Yang asked as the others nod in unison. "Good, then let's help Ragna kick his butt."
With Ragna
Ragna and Hazama grunted after they into different walls of the train car, slowly falling down to their knees before Ragna clenched his right fist.
"Restriction 666 releas-" Ragna started until an ouroboro wraps around his arm. "Damn it."
"Ah ah ah. I'm not letting you use your full semblance, Ragna." Hazama said, waving his finger before making his ouroboro swings Ragna around and slams him into the wall while laughing maniacally.
"Fire Dragon Roar!" Hazama looked to the side, only to get hit by a stream of fire, releasing Ragna in the process.
"Whoa, too hot!" Hazama shouted before swinging Jormungandr to cut the flames in half, only to see Natsu in front of him. "Well, the leader of Team NCRS and the son of Igneel: Natsu Dragneel. Or is it adopted son?"
"Natsu…?" Ragna grunted as he slowly gets back up on his feet.
"I won't let you hurt my friend." Natsu said, cracking his knuckles as Cloud, Weiss, Blake, and Yang arrived.
"Well, I certainly wasn't expecting this." Hazama laughed awkwardly, slowly backing away from the six students, who are marching towards him. He looks over his shoulder and has an ouroboro go through the door and stab the White Fang guard that's driving the train, killing him in the process. The fang of the ouroboro then grabs the lever and pulls it so the train is going at max speed before severing the lever from the controls.
"Whoa!" The six shouted as they try to regain their balance.
"What did you do!?" Ragna demanded, only to see blood on the ouroboro, who is holding the severed lever.
"Let's see how you heroes will stop this train or a bunch of people in Vale are gonna be dead. Oh wait! You won't be able to in time because your asses will be dead by the time this train crashes!" Hazama laughed maniacally and leaves after using an ouroboro to zoom past the six.
"He's gone…" Cloud gritted his teeth before wobbling a bit.
"Now we really need to stop this trai-" Natsu started until his entire body slowly becomes numb and his face starts to turn blue.
"Ah crap…" Ragna sighed while pinching his nose.
"The effect of his pills wore off." Blake stated.
"I got him." Yang said as she wraps Natsu's arm around her shoulders, although he unintentionally leans against her more while groaning. "Let's meet up with the others."
Top of the Train
Oobleck dodges a couple swipes from the Paladin, and then he and Barret run to the top of its head, and shoot it in its engine before jumping back down. Otacon presses the button on his control, making Rexy hover above the Paladin while it faces down. Ruby and Snake twirl their weapons a few times before they, Otacon, Barret, and Oobleck fire simultaneously at the Paladin's feet, knocking it off the train.
"Great job, Rexy." Otacon smiled and catches his drone before he and the others lost their balance before barely regaining it due to the speed of the train.
"Why the hell is this train going faster!?" Barret shouted before noticing a group of Paladins ahead. "And why the hell do they have more!? I am SICK… and TIRED… of FIGHTING! ROBOTS!"
"Try and bare with it a little longer Barret." Oobleck comforted, patting Barret's shoulder. "Ruby! Snake! Go on ahead!"
"Are you three going to be okay?" Snake asked in concern.
"Don't worry, Snake." Otacon reassured, adjusting his glasses with a serious look on his face. "We'll teach them a lesson."
"Good luck!" Ruby encouraged as Otacon, Barret, and Oobleck charge at the Paladins. She looks down at Zwei and smiles. "Go."
Zwei nodded at Ruby and Snake before following the trainee and the teachers.
Ruby and Snake rushed to the front of the train as the remaining members of Team RWBY and NCRS reemerge from the train cars to rejoin them.
"Guys, what happened down there?" Ruby asked in concern.
"Terumi made the train go faster before destroying the lever." Ragna answered, horrifying Ruby and Snake.
"He's trying to kill all of us!?" Snake shouted.
"We got more things to worry about. Look!" Cloud pointed ahead of the train to see a thick concrete wall from afar.
"Hang on!" Weiss told the others as she forms an ice shield to protect her friends, bracing themselves for the impending crash. She concentrates as numerous glyphs appear on the track and each time the train passes through one, the speed decreases bit by bit before crashing through the wall.
Downtown Vale
Team RWBY and NCRS coughed and struggled to stand as the sirens go off. Ruby and Natsu, who regained conscious, got up and see that their teams are fine before noticing their surroundings.
A bunch of people are gathered to see them among the debris. The team leaders turned around after hearing the sound of low rumbles and growls from behind. A giant King Taijitu emerges from the hole, and multiple Grimm start pouring into Vale. The civilians scream as they attempt to flee the chaos. The sounds of screams and roars filled the air, and all Team RWBY and NCRS can do is watch in horror.
Beacon Air Docks
"I'm sure they're fine." Pyrrha told Jaune as Team JNPR is making their way to the bullhead.
"Are you sure?" Jaune asked with a gulp.
"Probably a butt dial." Nora answered as she skips ahead of them.
"Team RWBY and NCRS have always performed exceptionally in the field." Ren stated. "We should be focusing on our own mission.
"We're gonna be deputies!" Nora cheered.
"I just got this feeling…" Jaune said, crossing his arms before the alarms ring out as Team JNPR see the city up in smoke.
"Hurry!" Team JNPR turned around to see Team MJNT hurrying to a Bullhead.
"I can't believe that the mission was canceled…" Jin grumbled bitterly.
"We'll go another time." Tsubaki reassured with a smile.
"Hey, mind if we join you guys in the Bullhead!?" Jaune shouted, catching Team MNJT's attention.
"Sure! Climb in!" Noel shouted as she, Jin, and Tsubaki climbed into the Bullhead followed by Nora, Pyrrha, Jaune, Meryl, and Ren.
"Ren, we'll go to the village next time." Jaune told his teammate, who gave him a simple nod.
"Take us to the city!" Meryl ordered the pilot as the bullhead takes off.
"Well, I certainly wasn't expecting this." Zeref admitted as he's standing next to the rest of Team CRME.
"You don't think…" Emerald started.
"Looks like it." Mercury answered.
"But that's days away!" Emerald exclaimed.
"So what do we do now?" Zeref asked Cinder, who is pondering about the situation.
Downtown Vale
[Play Crossing Fates - Blazblue Cross Tag Battle OST]
Team RWBY and NCRS are surrounded in the middle of the pavilion by Beowolves, Ursai, and a massive King Taijitu. The King Taijitu unleashes a mighty roar, signaling the Grimm to attack.
Ruby plants Crescent Rose on the ground as she's surrounded by a pack of Beowolves. She jumps up in the air before proceeding to kick numerous Beowolves away from her at high speed.
Natsu runs while firing Crimson Lotus at the pack of Beowolves and Creeps that are chasing him. He changes his weapon to their claw forms as he swipes them at a nearby pillar, causing it to crush the pursuing Grimm.
Yang jumps up in the air after using a Creep as a bounce pad before firing shots with Ember Celica on the Grimm. She grins before turning around to see three Nevermores, gasping as they send her crashing into the ground.
Snake stabs an Ursa in the forehead with Gray Fox. He then knees the creature in the gut and pulls his knife out before grabbing it and performs a german suplex, sending the Ursa flying into more Grimm.
Blake dodged a Beowulf's claws before stabbing it in the head with Gambol Shroud. She crouched down and draws her blade out before changing it into a gun, firing at Creeps that are approaching her.
Ragna clenched his fist and lets out an anguished battle cry, activating his semblance as it sends a few Grimm flying into the air. Ragna took out Blood-Scythe and jumps in the air before twirling it around, decapitating the heads of numerous Grimms at high speed.
Weiss Schnee slashes three Beowolves with Myternatster before summoning a glyph to conjure up an ice blade. She then swung her sword, making the ice blade to kill a few more Grimm that are approaching.
Cloud runs up the pillar that Natsu sliced down and jumps up in the air before slicing off the wings of three Nevermores with Buster. He changes his weapon to its gun mode and shots down a few more Nevermores before changing his weapon back to a sword.
Yang looked up to see Cloud descending before they exchanged smirks. Cloud slammed his sword down on the ground and Yang threw a punch, sending a barrage of cars at the Grimm.
As Ruby finishes slashing at a Grimm, she notices the King Taijitu ready for the attack until…
"NORA SMASH!" The creature looks over, only to get crushed by Nora when she slams Magnhild down.
"Let's move!" Pyrrha ordered as she and Ren charged in, leaving Jaune behind. She charges up to a Beowulf and blocks the creature's attack with Akouo before stabbing it in the gut with Milo.
Ren jumped off a Creep before kicking another away. He lands and charges at a Beowulf before cutting it with StormFlower.
"Okay, who's first?" Jaune said nervously as he took out Corcea Mors before he turns around to notice a giant Ursa standing behind him. "O-Okay, you're first, huh? Okay, no, that's fine. Totally fine, done this before…"
With a mighty scream, Jaune slashes the Ursa several times before it falls. Pyrrha smiles at how much Jaune has improved. After the Ursa collapse, Sun and Neptune can be seen in the distance.
"Nobody move!" Sun shouted. "Junior Detectives!"
"We got badges, so you know it's legit." Neptune added as the two shared a bro fist.
"This is not the time to show off, morons." The two Junior Detectives shivered once Jin walked past them before charging in at the Grimm followed by Meryl, Tsubaki, and Noel.
"We got this, sorry boys." Noel apologized with a wave, making Neptune dazed.
Jin draws out Yukianesa before stabbing an Ursa in the chest, instantly freezing it with his semblance. He pulled his katana out and slices the Grimm into pieces before pulling the trigger, firing numerous arrows at a few more Grimm.
Ragna slams a Beowulf into the ground before jumping backwards, causing him and Jin to be facing back to back.
"Don't tell me that you need your big brother to save you, do you?" Ragna joked with a smirk.
"Like I needed saving, brother." Jin smirked back before the two start taking out a group of Ursai surrounding them.
Tsubaki jumps over the brothers and creates holographic wings with her semblance before soaring in the sky. She took out Izayoi and performs aerobatic slashes, taking down numerous Nevermores before changing her weapon to a sniper rifle and fires a few shots below at a pack of Beowolves.
Meryl fired Liberty at Creeps before round-housing one into the wall. She changes her gun to a sword whip before using it to swing around, kicking and slashing a few more Creeps that are about to jump at her. She lands next to Snake to take a deep breath.
"Guess I don't have to call you a rookie anymore." Snake teased.
"This is not the time to be flirting, Snake." Meryl sighed while playfully elbowing Snake's gut. The two took out their weapons and start firing at a few more Grimm.
Noel is surrounded by a pack of Beowolves before she took a deep breath to calm down and takes out Bolverk with a serious look on her face. She starts to twirl around while firing at the Beowolves, taking them down one by one. She hops of a Beowulf and changes her weapons to dual swords before severing the Death Stalker's tail and stabbing it in the face and back, killing the creature.
"Wow… What a woman…" Neptune said, completely dazed by Noel's beauty and skills as he and Sun dropped their badges. The girl looks back at Neptune, waving at him with a beautiful smile and a huge blush.
The students looked up in the sky to see a giant air fleet along with numerous Airships. The airships opened their hatches and deployed numerous AK-200s as they all start attacking the Grimm while the airships gunned down Nevermores. One Ak-200 kicked an Ursa away, sending it flying before it crashes right in front of Team CRME.
Cinder gave Zeref, Mercury, and Emerald a nod as they all split up. Cinder walked up to a Beowulf before punching it in the face and kicks it away while Mercury kicked an Ursa in the face with Talaria.
"You will all suffer." Zeref stated, glaring at the Creeps intensely as they all charge at him. Zeref took out Neo Eclipse and fires at them, taking them down. He walked up to a King Tajitu before holding a hand up, trapping the creature in a bind as it starts to suffocate. He changed his weapon to a sword before decapitating both heads.
Emerald walked towards dozens of Grimm before taking out Thief's Respite before firing them at the Grimm. She sees an Ursa charging at her, prompting her to quickly transform her pistols into kopis blades, flipping and slashing at the rampaging Ursa to kill it.
[Play Caffeine - Jeff Williams, Lamar Hall, and Casey Lee Williams]
The Grimm looked over at the rubble to see a Paladin emerging out of the ground with Oobleck, Zwei, and Barret next to it.
"How are you managing, Mr. Emmerich?" Oobleck asked as he and Barret fired their weapons at the Grimm.
"Don't worry, I got this." Otacon nodded as he fired a few rockets at the Nevermores. Zwei jumps in the air and headbutted a Beowulf with a bark.
"BEACON TIME, MOTHER***ERS!" Barret shouted as he stops firing once he and the others looked up in the sky to see a Bullhead. The doors opened to reveal Team CFVY and Port as they hopped off the airship.
Yatsuhashi is surrounded by a pack of Grimm as they all jumped towards him. He took a deep breath before taking out Fulcrum and slams it onto the ground, creating a shockwave.
Velvet and Fox rushed in to punch and kick a few more Grimm. Fox took out Sharp Retribution and performs a series of slashes on a spiked Ursa, making it explode.
"Nice Hustle, Fox." Coco said as she playfully slapped his butt, making him jump. She walks up to a Beowulf, who lets out a roar at her, prompting the girl to lower her shades. "You just destroyed my favorite clothing store. Time to die."
Coco swatted away the Beowulf's right hand and kicks it in the crotch. She, as leans down and slams Gianduja onto its head. She effortlessly swats away more Beowolves with her handbag. She looks over to Velvet, who was about to take out her weapon.
"Velvet, you've spent all semester to build that thing." Coco spoke up, stopping the rabbit faunus as she frowns. "Don't waste it here."
Coco changed her handbag into a giant mini-gun before she proceeds to fire, slaughtering the advancing horde of Grimm, including a Death Stalker and three Nevermores.
Port, Barret, and Oobleck regroup and nodded their heads before they fire their weapons at the approaching Grimm. Meanwhile, Glynda mops up the remnants and immediately cleans up the damage around Remnant with her semblance.
Later
"You've definitely caused a lot of trouble." Zeref sighed as he and Mercury escorted Roman to the AK-200s.
"I can't believe that you caught me. Wow, you really made me change the error of my ways." Roman said sarcastically as the AK-200s bring him into the Atlesian Airship. "Hey, watch the hat!"
Zeref and Mercury walked over to the rest of Team CRME, who gave each other nods of approval. They look over to see different groups smiling and celebrating in victory. Zeref specifically looks over to Natsu with a frown. He then looks over and noticed Blake, causing him to look surprised.
'No way… It can't be…?' He thought to himself.
Beacon Air Docks
"Well, we did it." Yang said as she's sitting with Team NCRS and the rest of Team RWBY.
"Holy crap, that was awesome!" Natsu exclaimed.
"At least it wasn't boring." Blake admitted while playfully rolling her eyes.
"I'd be disappointed if we don't get extra credit." Weiss stated.
"We caused major property damage." Snake pointed out, causing Weiss to sigh.
"Plus, we didn't solve everything." Ruby brought up. "A lot of people were hurt, we don't know why they're doing this, and who that mystery girl was."
"I still can't believe that Terumi was working with the White Fang." Ragna admitted with a bitter tone.
"We've been running into a lot of enemies recently." Snake stated, rubbing his chin. "I'm starting to see a pattern."
"Sephiroth warned me about something." Cloud told the others. "He said that all of those recent events we've been through after joining Beacon are connected."
"Did he say anything else?" Natsu asked while raising an eyebrow.
"All that he said that they're all stepping stone to something big." Cloud recalled, letting out a sigh. "And it'll most likely be bad for Remnant. I just wish I knew what the answer is."
"We might not have all the answers, but we do have a lot of dangerous people behind bars or on the radar." Blake stated. "And I think that's something we could be proud of."
"Plus, we can kick their asses if they try to come back." Ragna said.
"That sounds like a plan to me." Natsu grinned as he and Ragna shared a bro fist.
"Yeah, we'll be ready when that happens." Ruby said with a fist in the air.
"So, what now?" Yang asked while laying down.
"I would suggest training, but I believe that's been taken care of for today." Weiss said.
"Ragna's former master will be training us tomorrow if you girls want to join." Natsu offered.
"We'll talk to Professor Mitsuyoshi when we head back." Ruby said as the two teams got up and make their way back to Beacon. It may have been a long day, but it'll be a day they won't forget.

This next chapter is something that I wanted to work on and I can't keep this a secret anymore. The next chapter will be a Christmas Special. I've been wanting to do one ever since I started Volume 2.
For those that are curious why Natsu was able to use lightning during his fight against Cardin, it's because he inserted lightning dust into Crimson Lotus and that helped enhanced his semblance. Just like how Blake was able to use elemental clones.
