After the second taxi passed them up, InuYasha started to become aggravated. 'Kami is it to much to ask to just get home and end this night?' He thought just before hearing a car horn blow. "About damn time." He whispered to himself, as he opened the taxi door for Kagome to enter first. "Thanks for stopping I was starting to think we'd have to walk." He saw Kagome give him a look as if saying, me walk in these heels? Of course he would've carried her, he wasn't that heartless. Well not with the way he was feeling about her after that dance. After getting the taxi, InuYasha gave the address of the hotel to the driver. It was pretty much dead silence after that. Even the taxi driver stayed quiet, but even he could see from his rear view mirror the two people in his back seat wanted to talk.
The short ride home seemed to take forever with no words being said, and once they arrived at the hotel things were now even more awkward. "Thanks for the ride." InuYasha told the man as he paid him.
And with a smile the taxi driver said. "She's a good pick son, don't let her go so easily." InuYasha turned a bit red but growled as he slammed the car door shut. This was not helping his thoughts of her and now that they were at his place he felt an even greater pull to let his guard down and just admit his love for her. 'No, not yet. I can't let this win.' Still those thoughts were lost when he turned to her and saw the moonlight hit her just right.
He shook his head to clear his thoughts of her. But still he wasn't sure of his true feelings for her. He wanted her that was obvious, his hardness was becoming too much to take. 'Why am I getting like this? For years if I came across woman I never once had this problem. But now it's different, Kagome just seems so...right. Is it really love I'm feeling, or the fact I just want to fuck her?' He gave a slight sigh on the matter. Now wasn't the time to think about this. So with a hard swallow and a now very big and hard problem below his hips. InuYasha walked up and guided her up the steps to the hotel.
"This is a nice place, though I hope you can find a new apartment soon. Plus that last place wasn't a place you deserved." Kagome said with a smile as they continued their walk to the lobby and soon to the elevator. "I really hope I'm not making this uneasy for you." Her words were starting to make him wonder if she was feeling the same way as him. "I wonder if Sango went back to her place or Miroku's?"
With a chuckle InuYasha said. "I didn't think you wanted to take a chance finding out." They both laughed at the thought of walking in and finding their friends in the middle of sex. "To your question Kagome, no I'm kinda glad you're here. It does get boring at times around here with no one to talk too, but I guess it's like before." He said as he pushed the second floor button on the elevator. "I didn't get to clean very much before I left for dinner tonight, so don't mind the mess."
Kagome simply smiled, InuYasha was so much like a regular man, yet he carried demon blood in him. He wasn't like anything she had ever encountered. Still she had grown to see him as something more. He was more than a friend to her now. The way he made her feel safe was something she had never felt before. 'I knew at the hospital I was starting to love him, but now ...I'm afraid.' For Kagome, Kouga still haunted her mind. Would her and InuYasha be the same way in a relationship?
InuYasha however found himself more confused about his demon side. When his brother removed his fang necklace to forge Tessaiga. How was it his demon didn't kill her? And most importantly, Kagome stayed by him after she knew the monster he could become. 'Kagome supported me through that mess and maybe my demon knew she wasn't the enemy... No, that wasn't it.' InuYasha knew his demon was a murderous being and nothing stopped it from killing. And then he started to remember how focused his demon was on her. 'I could've killed her when my demon was freed, but I didn't. So does that mean my demon has feelings for her too?'
Ever since the whole Kouga ordeal InuYasha also wondered if maybe Kagome was afraid to truly love someone again. The wolf pretty much tried to kill her in the end, which lead InuYasha to finding that new apartment they were sharing. Only things didn't work out and Kikyo came with Kouga to kill Kagome when he left. After that Kagome went to stay with Sango. And he was staying here until he found his own place again. Still he preferred her here like this. He felt better knowing she was close and safe.
But now that they were here like this together and alone. InuYasha now found himself no longer able to hold back. Miroku's words came back to him at that moment. 'I say after dinner, you both take a nice shower together and really get to know each other.' InuYasha shook his head trying to clear those thoughts from his mind. He might have been a pure gentleman all night at the restaurant, but now he was hungry for more than just food. The pull in his gut and the perfume she was wearing had him all but crazy by this point and that sexy black dress. Well he'd been undressing her all night, and now that they were back home. He really couldn't take much more. "InuYasha, thanks for going with me as my..you know...date. Even though we both agreed we're not really dating." Kagome kinda blushed at her words of a date. "Anyway thanks again, I'm going to get a quick shower before bed, night InuYasha.
That was the breaking point, when he heard her say about taking a quick shower. Now he couldn't resist any longer, whether she wanted it or not he was going to make the first bold move. "Sure Kagome enjoy." He replied with a small wave. As he kicked off his shoes and loosened his tie, before tossing it on the couch. He smiled as he thought. 'I know I'll enjoy myself too.' His white shirt was next along with his black pants, only his boxers were covering him now. Quietly he moved up the stairs, but stopped halfway. His mind raced. 'Am I really this crazy, to just go walking into the shower and taking her? Damn right I am, she's been playing me along for months now. It's time I show her who she's meant to be with.'
