Mama Yang Hero Academia-26
"Scythe, how are you doing in here?" Kali asked poking her head into Scythe's room. "Oh honestly, don't you ever stop training you silly girl?"
"Nope." Scythe said, dressed in a sports bra and shorts, doing push ups in her room, in her Argonaut form, with Jack and Eri sitting on her back, munching away on a plate of dragon fruit and a plate of apple slices. "I've gotta be able to maintain my Argonaut form for more than three hours, when fighting otherwise there's no way I'll be able to keep up with my classmates."
"Big sis has been at this for a while." Eri said, feeding Scythe an apple slice. "She hasn't even slowed down a bit."
"Well I just want you to know breakfast is ready, and you have a visitor." Kali exclaimed.
"Alright." Scythe exclaimed, as Jack and Eri hopped off her back, and she picked herself up. "But who could be visiting this early? An' who do I know that would?"
"He says he's a local you helped to rescue when you went on your own little vigilante thing." Kali stated.
"Alright." Scythe said, unable to shake the bad feeling in her gut. "Eri, you and Jack stay up here. Jack, guard Eri with your life."
"Got it." Eri said, sensing the tone of urgency in her voice.
"You can count on me Nee-san." Jack smiled.
Scythe walked down to the dining room, but just as she was about to round the corner, she stopped, her heart nearly skipping a beat as her nose caught a familiar scent. It was the strongest scent she smelt on Eri's shirt when they burned her old clothes to symbolize her freedom.
Taking a deep breath and acting calmly, Scythe rounded the corner, and it took everything she had not to act out in both fear and anger, when she saw Kai Chisaki sitting at the kitchen table, wearing a normal face mask, dressed in a suit and tie with his signature white gloves. Thankfully Kali had gone to do laundry in the other room.
"Scythe I presume?" Kai questioned.
"Yeah, that's me." Scythe stated, trying her hardest to act as if she didn't know him, but she saw the police profile picture in his file, and recognized him instantly.
"We need to talk." Kai said as Scythe removed the bandage over her eye.
"Oh really? I don't think I have anything to say." Scythe said, placing her hand over her chest, activating her hero suit. "To the young head of the Shie Hassaikai." Scythe finished with a growl, as her eyes took on a more feral reptilian/feline look.
~U.A Training City Alpha~
"An' GO." Yang shouted.
The teams of two went running through the city, preparing to hunt down Monoma.
"Kendo throw me." Ruby exclaimed, dressed in her track suit as her costume wasn't finished yet. Though that didn't stop her from wearing her signature hooded cloak with the tracksuit. In fact including herself, Weiss, and Pyrrha; they were the only ones who were unable to wear a hero costume due to none being ready yet.
"On it." Kendo said enlarging her hands, and using them as a platform for Ruby to hop onto before she spun around a couple times, and threw Ruby into the air.
Spreading her wings, and shredding her tracksuit top again, Ruby got a birds eye view of where Monoma had run off to, and smirked when she found him.
Circling back around, Ruby dive bombed the crowd and grabbed Kendo by the underarm, before flying off to where Monoma was.
"Whoa, give me a little heads up when you do that." Kendo exclaimed.
"Sorry. I just got excited, I'm gonna pound his ass to ground beef." Ruby smirked.
"I'm gonna flatten him like a pancake." Kendo smiled.
Upon reaching where Monoma had hidden himself, Kendo and Ruby landed about fifty feet away, before they ran to his hiding spot.
"Got ya." Kendo smirked, grabbing him with her enlarged hands, to make sure he didn't run away.
"Also, I forgot to mention." Yang's voice said over the intercom of the fake city. "Whichever team deals the most damage to Monoma first, wins two gift cards to the movies both good for four movies each. Two if you use them to bring a friend."
"We got this in the bag." Kendo smirked, throwing Monoma into the air.
Ruby leapt from the ground, spreading her wings, and flew straight for Monoma, slamming her fist into his stomach, sending him higher into the air, before she appeared above him and axe kicked him in the back, sending him back to the ground, only to be caught by Kendo's large hands, keeping him from hitting the ground.
"So, what should we do to him next?" Kendo questioned. "I honestly don't care either way if we win the prize or not."
"I've got an idea, hold on, and keep him restrained." Ruby said flying away in a blur of red lightning.
"Are you seriously siding with someone from 1-A instead of your own classmate?" Monoma questioned.
"Shut up Monoma." Kendo exclaimed. "I'm honestly not interested in what you have to say."
"C'mon, how can you say that after all we've been through in the few days we were classmates. All the fun we had, all the antics we got into, what happened to upbeat Kendo I know from class?" Monoma questioned.
"Oh I'm still the same as I've ever been, you're the one who's changed Monoma." Kendo stated. "An' as I recall, I never enjoyed the stuff you dragged me into doing with you. Everything we did just fed into your stupid ego and turned you into the narcissistic jackass you are today."
"Oh come now, that is hardly accurate, furthest thing from it." Monoma stated. "Now as old friends, I'm requesting a favor that you let me go, and give me a chance to escape and live my life as I see fit."
"Oh, my description of you is what you'd call, hitting the nail on the head." Kendo stated. "You blatantly spread false rumors about Yang and Blake selling themselves to the faculty to be allowed a chance in the early graduation ceremony, you mocked them for their looks, saying they'd make better livings as hookers instead of heroes, and you beat Scythe within an inch of her life, literally right after she was told she wouldn't be able to walk again. So what the hell, makes you think I'm gonna just let you walk away like we're old friends?"
"Because we are."
"We are not." Kendo stated slamming him into the wall of the building he had hid behind.
"I'm back. What's up?" Ruby questioned, landing next to them, before noticing the angered look on her face.
"Nothing's up. Did you do what you needed to?" Kendo asked.
"Everything's set up, you ready to let him go?" Ruby asked.
"Gladly." Kendo smiled, winding up and throwing Monoma into the air.
Ruby followed after him with a smile, before grabbing onto the orange jumpsuit Monoma wore, and brought him to one of the bigger empty buildings and setting him on the roof.
"Alright everyone. He's on the roof." Ruby shouted down to the streets below.
"Ruby what exactly are you doing?" Yang asked through the earpiece she had on her.
"Well, I had an idea. Kendo and I already found him, the only thing left to do was to cause him harm. So each of the teams are gonna be on each of the floors, and it's gonna be a free for all fight." Ruby exclaimed.
"So, you basically sent Monoma through a house of horrors that could result in hospitalization." Yang simplified.
"You said anything goes as long as we don't kill him." Ruby stated.
"Fair enough. Continue."
"Alright guys, Halloween's come early this year." Ruby said, speaking to the rest of the students through the earpiece. Smiling as she got confirmation from everyone, Ruby flew off to grab Kendo and explain to her the situation, while also bring her to join the fun.
Meanwhile Monoma was busy running down the stairs of the emergency exit, while also trying to figure out a plan of escape.
"Damn that Kendo, after everything I've done, she decides not to repay me by letting me escape. She was lucky enough to just be in my presence. It was an absolute blessing for her to actually hang around me. Well, calling in her aid didn't work, I seriously thought I had more of a grasp over the school than that." Monoma cursed as he reached the floor below the roof. "Now what am I going to do?"
(Cue Music… This is Halloween: Panic at the Disco)
As Monoma made his way through the top floor, he kept trying to deduce what he was gonna do to escape. As he went running through the empty hall, he felt a rush of air behind him, and quickly turned around, his heart racing.
"I must be losing my mind. I keep telling the warden that prison food isn't good for one as spectacular as myself." Monoma exclaimed as he turned back around. As he turned to run again, he was hit in the face by a shadow like claw, and he began to stumble back, before tripping over metal beams that caused him to land on his back painfully. "What the, those weren't there before."
"I've gotten faster at my welding, not that you ever noticed Monoma." A familiar voice echoed from the dark halls.
"Awase?" Monoma questioned. "If you're here then that means…"
"That's right." Dark Shadow said, swiping Monoma off the ground, and slamming him into the wall. "Tokoyami and I are here as well."
"Dark Shadow and I have a personal grudge against you for what you did to Scythe." Tokoyami said, making his presence known. "Unfortunately for you, the only light coming into these halls, is the light off the LED bulbs, which means Dark Shadows power is considerably stronger than it would be in the daylight."
"Unhand me now." Monoma glared. "Why would your grudge even be personal against me for me practicing my right as I please?"
"First day of class, after Mr. Aizawa's Quirk Assessment Test, I was feeling like I didn't belong. Scythe saw this, and bless her little heart at the time, she whipped together a card with a crude yet adorable drawing of me and Dark Shadow, saying to never give up. That's why." Tokoyami exclaimed. "Everyone in Class 1-A has come to see her and each other as family. I pity your soul when Bakugo gets his hands on you."
"I'd make you all pay, if I could get this stupid collar off." Monoma glared.
"I seriously doubt it." Awase said, as Dark Shadow pulled Monoma from the wall, and slammed him into the ground, forcing the air out of his lungs.
Awase grabbed the two pieces of metal he welded to the walls, and slammed them together, before bringing it down like a hammer, cracking a few ribs in his chest.
"Dark Shadow." Tokoyami called out.
"Right." Dark Shadow shouted clasping his fists together and slamming them into Monoma's chest sending him through the ground to the floor below, landing on the rubble and several large mushrooms. An' they weren't normal sized mushrooms either, they were large enough to make him think he had stumbled through the rabbit's hole and enter the world of Wonderland, before he remembered a certain Quirk belonging to one of his former classmates.
"Mushrooms? Oh no, Komori's Quirk, which means her partner can't be far behind." Monoma exclaimed trying to get out of the horde of mushrooms, rolling out of the way, just in time for Sato's fist to slam down where his head used to be, crushing the mushroom, and creating a dent in the floor.
"Shoot, I nearly had you." Sato said, straightening himself up, as Monoma got up to his feet.
"You brute, you could have killed me with that attack." Monoma exclaimed starring at Sato.
"Only if I put my back into it." Sato smirked, reaching into two of his pouches. "Normally, I'd only down one pack of sugar in my pouch, but for you, I'll down two." He said, before pouring twenty grams of sugar in his mouth.
Monoma began sweating like crazy as Sato's muscles grew, nearly tearing through his suit. The blonde egomaniac tried to run for it, but couldn't move his feet. He looked down to see that his feet had been latched to the ground, by growing fungus.
"Oh crap." Monoma managed to shout.
Looking around for something to help him with this, Monoma managed to catch a glimpse of Komori smiling wickedly at him, before Sato grabbed one of his ankles and swung him arching through the air, and slamming him into the ground, and before repeating the process and slamming him into walls, and other surfaces, even throwing him high enough to be sent into the ceiling before falling back to the ground, bashing him Hulk Style. While still in midair, Sato slammed his fist into Monoma's stomach, and before he was sent flying he could have sworn, he heard Sato say…
"Puny man."
After that, Sato's punch sent Monoma flying down the hall and through the door through the emergency exit, where Dark Shadow and Tokoyami were waiting for him, and sent him tumbling down the stairs to the next floor.
"Please, no more. I surrender, I give." Monoma managed to plead, trying to pick himself up, coughing up a large amount of blood.
"Oh we're not done yet Monoma."
Hearing that voice Monoma's blood ran cold as he looked up and saw Bakugo and Tsuburaba standing over him, both wearing menacing smiles that told him, he was dead.
"Oh no Pompous Prick. We're going to inflict ten times the amount of pain and damage you inflicted on Ruby's niece." Bakugo smirked, small yet threatening explosions emitting from his hands. "Now, let's get started shall we?"
(End Song…)
~Outside at the base of the building 2Hours Later~
Ruby, Kendo, Yang, Ghira, and Midnight were sitting in lawn chairs outside the building the fun was taking place in, drinking glass bottles of soda, while Yang looked at her scroll checking the time.
"Hmm, I'm starting to think things might be going a tad too far in there." Yang said.
"Don't tell me you're becoming concerned about Monoma's safety." Ruby exclaimed.
"No, I'm saying that they should have been done by now." Yang stated.
"She's right both classes should have been done unless…"
Before Ghira could finish his statement, there was a large explosion and Monoma's unconscious body was sent flying from the doors past the five sitting in the lawn chairs, having their drinks, and into the concrete of the next building behind them.
"Bakugo decided to have a bit more fun." Ruby stated.
"You chose a real keeper for your husbando." Yang teased.
"W-what?" Ruby questioned blushing.
"Next time you write in your private fantasy journal, don't do it in the dining room, or leave it on the kitchen table for people to find it." Yang chuckled, walking over to where Monoma was, and checking over his unconscious form. "Hmm, it doesn't look like he's dead. But if we were to let Recovery Girl help, it'd take at least six visits from her just to heal him enough to let him walk again. Without her help, he's gonna be in the ICU for six months, at least."
"Are we gonna ask Recovery Girl to heal him?" Midnight questioned.
"Hell no. We'll just let an ambulance take him to the hospital. Letting him heal naturally is part of the fun." Yang smirked.
"I agree." Ghira chuckled as all the other students came out of the building.
"So, who won?" Ashido questioned.
"Isn't it obvious? Most of the injuries on him are burns from explosions, so Katsuki Bakugo and Tsuburaba the winner." Yang stated handing the gift cards to Bakugo and Tsuburaba.
"Give mine to Bakugo, I'm not much of a theater guy." Tsuburaba stated declining the card.
"Alright if you say." Yang smirked.
"YANG."
Yang, Ghira, and Ruby reacted to hearing Kali's voice, and looked up to see Kali, Jack, and Eri being carried by who they all recognized as Penny. Unlike her previous design and specs, her hair is significantly longer and more rounded at the tips, and she wears a black bow. Inside the bow is a pink centerpiece shaped in the guise of the bow, albeit significantly more angular, with a power button at its knot. The ahoge remains and is more prominent.
Additionally, Penny wears a Victorian-era dress. The abdominal region is black with four golden buttons; the upper blouse being silver, but the vertical lining now extends well down from the collar.
Her collar piece is finished with a black ribbon, with a power button at its center. Penny wears black fleece gloves with circular golden accents at the knuckles. Her footwear includes jet-powered boots, with the green lines on her stockings illuminating exclusively when she uses them.
Though it was currently Yang's first time seeing Penny outside of a holographic form, and was kinda surprised to see her landing in front of them all.
"Penny, what are you doing here?" Ruby questioned.
"I apologize dear friends, but I didn't have any other choice. Kai Chisaki, otherwise known as Overhaul, managed to infiltrate the household, and is currently engaged in combat with Young Xiao Long. As per evacuation protocol, involving home invasion, I grabbed the women and children first, and brought them to the safest place listed in my database, which was U.A Campus bypassing security with Ruby's Student ID." Penny exclaimed.
"Wait, Scythe is fighting the Yakuza Head?" Yang questioned, grabbing Penny by the shoulders. "ALONE?"
"Yes, I'm afraid she is. Due to her Argonaut form, I was unable to grab her before departing." Penny stated.
"Ghira, call Blake and Shimura at the Huntress Agency main office, tell them to get their asses back to the house now." Yang stated, before she turned to the rest of the class. "I'm sorry everyone but…"
"Stop talking and just go already." Bakugo stated. "Kick that Yakuza bastard's ass for me."
"Ruby, Weiss, Pyrrha, you stay with the teacher's none of you have your provisional licenses yet, so you need to stay with the staff. Ruby tell dad we might need his help." Yang instructed before she ran off empowered by One-for-All, coursing through her legs.
"Godspeed Yang." Uraraka prayed.
Ruby took this opportunity to use her speed to run to the Teacher's Lounge, and burst in with a flurry of rose petals following behind her.
"Ruby, what's wrong? Is your special training done already?" Toshinori questioned as all the teacher's looked up to see the panicked look on her face.
"Shie Hassaikai has attacked the house, and Scythe is facing off against Chisaki on her own, we need your help." Ruby explained. "Yang's already on her way over to help."
"I'm on my way." Toshinori said, marching his way to the door.
~What's left of the Xiao Long Residence~
"I must say, you've proven quite evasive when it comes to fighting me. I'm impressed." Chisaki said, readjusting his glove on his hand as he looked at Scythe, in what remained of the house they once stood in.
Scythe stood across from Chisaki clutching the left side of her torso, blood seeping out from between her fingers. Several times Chisaki managed to use his Quirk on her, shredding bits of her flesh off of her with Overhaul. But the biggest amount of damage he managed to do was take a chunk out of her torso, which even her Godslayer Healing Magic was having a hard time sealing up. Though the fact she was still in a fight did seem to add to the problem of stopping the bleeding.
"You managed to sneak in, taking advantage of my grandmother not knowing what you looked like." Scythe exclaimed. "I don't know how long you've been causing Eri to suffer, but I will not let you lay another hand on her. So long as I have breath in my lungs, I will protect her, and I will end you." Scythe exclaimed her emerald eyes shining blood red.
"Pretty words won't win you the fight." Chisaki exclaimed.
"No, but this will." Scythe exclaimed, taking a runner's start, and forcing herself to her limits of One-for-All. "Etherion Goddess: SMASH." Scythe shouted, charging at Chisaki faster than he could see, with a fury in her eyes, and an Etherion empowered fist slamming into his gut, sending the Yakuza head flying into the sand on the beach, creating a groove in the sand.
"You're strong girly."
Scythe's eyes widened when she heard that voice, before a large hand gripped her head and threw her through the air, and slammed her into the ground, before lifting her into the air, and slamming her into one of the remaining walls that was standing, and dragged her along it, slamming her into the ground once more.
"Rikiya, that's enough. I think the message has been driven in." Chisaki exclaimed, grunting as he hobbled over to them.
Rikiya slammed Scythe into the ground, and held her down by the torso, allowing her to be able to hear Chisaki's words.
"Now, I'm only going to give you one chance, to tell me where that android of yours took Eri. If you tell me, I'll leave you with your life, minus a couple limbs. But refuse, and your life is forfeit." Chisaki exclaimed holding an ungloved hand over Scythe's face.
"You can torture me all you want. But I will not give up a member of my family." Scythe growled as she was forced to exit her Argonaut form.
"Loyal 'till the very end. That's one of the many things I respect about your family." Chisaki said, lowering his hand to grip her face. "You're strong girl, but you're not as strong as your mother. I'll send flowers to your funeral."
Before Chisaki's hand could fully envelop her face, the familiar feeling of Blake's shadow enveloped Scythe, and she found herself in the comforting embrace of her mama's magic, before emerging in Blake's arms at the edge of the property.
"You keep your filthy hands off of her." Blake growled, her amber eyes filled with rage, and her feline pupils slitted as she starred daggers at the two Shie Hassaikai members.
"Well, you must be her other mother we heard about in the news, when All Might revealed the truth about her conception, to the world." Chisaki exclaimed, looking at Blake.
"You will not lay your hands on my children. I will give my life to protect them." Blake stated, arming herself with Gambol Shroud.
"A devoted mother, I must say, I am touched by how deeply you care about Eri, and Scythe. But I'm afraid, I'm going to need Eri back from you, right now." Chisaki stated, putting his glove back on.
"You're never getting your hands on her ever again." Blake exclaimed, as Scythe forced herself up. "Stay down sweetie, you did good, but now it's time for the adults to handle this. We can take them."
"I'm not sure how good you are at counting, but there's only one of you, and two of us." Rikiya exclaimed.
"I wouldn't be so sure." Blake exclaimed, with a smile. "How do you think I got home from the police station so fast?"
Chisaki was confused before a shadow flew over them, and he looked up, just as the large figure of a flesh toned dragon, came swooping down, and grabbed Rikiya before throwing him a far distance into the sea.
Scythe looked up and saw Ryukyu landing behind Blake in her dragon form, with a glare in her eye, directed at Chisaki.
"Alright, I can tell when I'm bested." Chisaki exclaimed, raising his hands in surrender. "But that doesn't mean I'm gonna give up so easily."
Chisaki removed his gloves, and slammed his hands on the ground, before it exploded underneath him, and he dropped through the ground, before it reformed above him.
"He got away." Ryukyu growled, returning to her human form.
"Let him go. He's not a threat we should worry about right now. We'll start worrying when and if he teams up with the League of Villain." Blake stated, putting Gambol Shroud away, as Ryukyu cradled Scythe in her arm.
"Hey there hatchling, how you feeling?" Ryukyu asked, referring to Scythe by the nickname she gave the child. She felt it appropriate since they're both, more or less, dragons.
"Could be better." Scythe groaned as she used her sky slayer magic to heal her wounds.
"You did good, holding your own against seasoned fighters like that, is something to be proud of." Ryukyu exclaimed.
"Yeah, but where are we going to live now?" Scythe inquired.
"Yang and I have already been looking into getting a bigger place the past couple days. So I'm sure we'll figure something out. In the meantime, we'll just live out of a hotel." Blake stated. "But seriously, those are some pretty nasty injuries."
"I know." Scythe stated as the minor injuries healed without leaving so much as a scab, while the major one on her torso was left as a scar shaped like a nova blast. "But they shouldn't be a problem."
"Scythe, I'm going to ask you a question and I want you to answer me honestly." Blake stated looking her directly in the eye. "Do we need to take you to the hospital?"
"No. I'll be fine." Scythe said before yawning. "Though I'm probably grounded now aren't I, since I didn't follow mom's instructions on relaxing and taking it easy today huh?"
"Given that it wasn't your fault, you're off the hook. Besides, your definition of relaxing and taking it easy, is probably more training." Blake chuckled, ruffling her hair, being one of the only two people allowed to do so. The other being Yang. "Thanks again for helping Ryukyu."
"It's my pleasure." Ryukyu smiled softly, helping Scythe to sit up on her own. She turned to look over her shoulder, to see a mob of news media craved fans was gathering around them. "I think we might have some company."
Blake turned to see the media was setting up across the street, ready to report on what had happened. They sighed before Blake picked Scythe up, Piggyback style, and began to walk.
"Sombra, Sombra. Can you tell us what happened here?" One of the media reporters asked as they ran to the trio when they spotted them leaving.
"My family was attacked by the Yakuza Group, Shie Hassaikai. Plain and simple." Blake stated. "Now if you don't mind, my daughter's injuries are treated, and she's needing rest."
"There's speculation and talk that you and Huntress should put your children, including your adopted daughter Eri, in the foster care system. Many believe you should and…"
The media reporter wanting Blake's input on that topic, was silenced when Blake used Gambol Shroud to slice the news camera in half, as the cat eared Faunus glared at him with a deadly intent in her eyes.
"I will not abandon my children." Blake stated, her voice filled with malice. "Huntress and I made a promise that we intend to keep. We promised our children, we would never abandon them. They need us now, more than ever, as they were the targets of this attack against us. Eri was rescued, from the Shie Hassaikai, because they had been tearing her body apart piece by piece, and tormenting her."
Putting Gambol Shroud away, Blake carried Scythe away from the crowd of news reporters, just as Yang came running down the street, skidding to a halt as she stopped using One-for-All.
"Scythe baby are you okay?" Yang asked, grabbing her from Blake and holding her close.
"I'm fine mom. I'm just a little banged up." Scythe groaned, as Yang hugged her sore body.
"She'll be fine. All her injuries are sealed up. She just needs rest." Ryukyu stated, before walking off, back to the crowd of reporters. "I'll catch up in a bit, I need to go and calm the media down from Blake's little outburst."
"No hospital trip?" Yang asked.
"Nope." Scythe wheezed out.
"None needed." Blake stated. "Though we're gonna need to find a new place to live, the house is gone."
"Oh thank goodness." Yang sighed, loosening her hug on Scythe.
"You know, it's kinda funny." Scythe said, as Yang put her down.
"Hmm? What is sweetie?" Yang inquired as they went walking away.
"I can kick All-for-One's ass in a one on one fight, but I could barely hold my own against Chisaki." Scythe exclaimed.
"That's a 160 Yen in the, swear jar missy." Yang stated tapping the top of his head. "Besides, it's not entirely your fault, there were several factors you probably didn't account for. One of them being, you're still recovering from the fight against All-for-One."
"Another factor is he wasn't alone. From what you told us last night, your fight with Chisaki was the exact opposite of your fight against All-for-One, since you had Shimura to back you up in that fight, but not in this one." Blake exclaimed.
"So you see, it's not that Chisaki is stronger than All-for-One, it's just the odds weren't in your favor, and you were still recovering." Yang exclaimed.
"I guess that makes sense." Scythe said, before yawning.
"C'mon, let's take you to Huntress Agency. The floors above out office are meant for hero living conditions." Yang chuckled.
"When was this added?" Blake questioned.
"It's always been there. I've told you about it. Sir Nighteye lives above his agencies office." Yang stated. "I had it installed in the blueprints during the remodeling, in case something like this happened to the house."
"Well, looks like we're gonna be living are work for a while." Blake sighed.
~Next Day at the Tatooin Station~
"Man I'm so exhausted." Scythe groaned, standing in her Argonaut form as she waited for the train to come take her to school. "I'm still sore from my fight against Chisaki."
"The scar over your eye still looks a bit raw as well." Ruby pointed out.
"By the way, what was the training exercise involving Monoma yesterday?" Scythe inquired, after chugging down a Fruit Punch Rockstar she pulled from her bag.
"Oh we got to beat him senseless. If I'm not mistaken, Bakugo was the one who dealt the most damage to him." Pyrrha said.
"Really? Not that surprising to be honest, actually. Bakugo might seem like an ass, but he's a kindhearted guy deep down. That was proven when he admitted how wrong his tactics on keeping Midoriya safe from dying trying to be a hero were." Scythe exclaimed. "I'll be sure to thank him. Hey, Aunt Ruby, do you know if he likes Rockstars?"
"How should I know?" Ruby inquired.
"Well you two are engaged aren't you?" Pyrrha questioned.
"I finally managed to convince Mitsuki and dad to call that off, since him groping me was an accident and all." Ruby sighed, sounding as if the thought of that conversation itself, drained her of all life. "So no, we're not engaged, and I don't know if he likes Rockstars."
"Well, I'll find some way to repay him." Scythe exclaimed.
"Though you can't deny the fact you do think of him as your husbando right?" Pyrrha smirked.
"IT WAS YOU." Ruby shouted pointing an accusing finger at Pyrrha, referring to how Yang managed to read her fantasy journal.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Pyrrha said in a sort of singsong teasing voice as Scythe pulled out her scroll, squeezing into the cramped car of the train next to Ruby and Pyrrha, the former of the two still trying to get the Amazonian Warrior Woman to confess to what she did.
As the train began moving, Scythe had to use her tail several times to keep someone from grabbing her ass, by smacking their hand away. He finally stopped, when Ruby butted in, and the guy ran for the hills, when she pointed out that she recognized him from when Bakugo stopped him from doing that to her, the day after the USJ Incident. After that they went back to their own thing, with Scythe looking at the news on her scroll.
"Hey, you, excuse me." Someone whispered behind her. "You're Xiao Long from Class 1-A." That statement alone got the others around her to look in her direction. "Great job in the sports festival, I rooted for you." He said giving her a thumbs up.
"You were in the top eight right. You also won the festival didn't you?" Another person questioned. "That's so impressive."
"She's a bit taller than I thought she'd be." A woman said as the whole car was now starring her. This caused her to become quite nervous as everyone in the car, began saying stuff about her, and how she was going to be a real impressive Pro one day. She even was asked by several middle schoolers to autograph their bags for them. Ruby and Pyrrha did nothing to help, they just stood back and watched amused as she was hounded by the people in the train car, several of which were asking how her arm was doing.
"Keep trying for it hero." Everyone in the car eventually said.
"I will… Thank you." Scythe said with a nervous smile.
Eventually the car stopped and all three U.A Students departed, though the weather was a problem currently as it hadn't stopped raining since early afternoon the day before. Thankfully it had been nothing more than a light drizzle before she woke up a few hours ago. Pulling out their umbrellas, the three U.A Students made their way to campus.
"Good Morning Xiao Long, Rose, Nikos."
"Oh morning Iida." Ruby said turning to look at him only to see him running.
"You really went all out with the rain gear huh?" Pyrrha questioned.
"Why are you all walking so slowly? You'll be late." Iida exclaimed.
"Late, but there's still five minutes until the bell rings, isn't there?" Scythe asked as they chased after him.
"Besides, these skirts aren't exactly designed for running in." Ruby said.
"U.A Students should always arrive ten minutes early, don't you think?" Iida questioned as he began to pick up speed.
"He's plotting something isn't he?" Scythe asked the duo.
"He's trying to think up some revenge against Stain for paralyzing his older brother." Ruby sighed as they entered the shoe locker area before they shook off their umbrellas.
"So Iida um…" Scythe began, as Iida put his boots away.
"If it's about my brother, don't be concerned. I'm sorry I made you worry, everything will be fine." Iida said turning to them, while removing the hood of his gear.
'He masks the pain and anger well.' Ruby thought. 'I sorta know how he feels. After Yang, Scythe, and Blake first went missing, I became so engrossed with wanting to find out the truth, I nearly let my anger on my failures consume me. I almost got expelled from Beacon a couple times in fact.'
~1-A Classroom~
"It's so weird that people recognize us from T.V." Mina exclaimed. "Everyone wanted to talk to me on my way here."
"Yeah, me to." Kirishima stated.
"People on the street were staring at me. It was kind of embarrassing." Toru exclaimed.
"Sure but isn't that pretty normal for you?" Ojiro questioned.
"I mean, the girl basically went and flashed her goods to everyone on camera. So it shouldn't be too surprising." Ruby exclaimed.
"You won't believe what a bunch of elementary school brats yelled at me." Sero said, sounding and looking upset.
"Nice try?" Tsu questioned, causing Sero to groan.
"All it took was one sports festival, and suddenly we're like celebrities." Kaminari exclaimed.
"This school really is amazing." Mineta stated.
"Hey Bakugo." Scythe said, gaining the exploding boy's attention.
"What do you want?" He questioned, before Scythe held out a Sour Green Apple flavored Rockstar for him to take.
"Here. I heard about how much pain you dealt Monoma yesterday, and why you were so triggered. I'm flattered that you actually care about me." Scythe chuckled.
"Uh…" Bakugo was speechless before he looked to Ruby, who was looking off in another direction whistling innocently. 'She promised she wouldn't say a word.' He thought aggressively. "Whatever, thanks." He said, taking the can nonchalantly.
"Morning class." Yang said coming into the classroom.
"Morning Ms. Xiao Long." The entire class said as Scythe took her seat.
"Alright so before we begin I just wanna say that today is my official last day of teaching you all. When you come into class next, you'll have Mr. Aizawa back with you." Yang explained. "Anyway, we have a big class today. The topic, hero informatics."
This news caused the entire class to freeze, well, all except Ruby and Scythe.
"Oh no." The entire class thought.
'Informatics? Please don't tell me it's a Pop-quiz.' Kaminari panicked.
'Crap, I bet it's about hero laws, I'm so bad at stuff like that.' Kirishima thought.
'I wonder what's for lunch today.' Scythe thought having her normal blank look on her face.
"You all need code names. It's time to pick your hero identities." Yang stated.
'This is gonna be totally awesome.' The class thought in celebration, before Yang's eyes changed color, and she let a bit of her power seep, intimidating the class into silence.
"This is related to the Pro-Hero draft picks I mentioned the last time class was assembled." Yang explained. "Normally students don't have to worry about the draft yet, not until the second or third year actually, but your class is quite different in some regard. In fact, by extending offers to first years like you, Pros are essentially investing in your potential. Any offers can be rescinded if their interest in you dies down before graduation though."
"Stupid selfish adults." Mineta stated.
"So what you're saying is, we'll still have to prove ourselves even after we've gotten recruited." Toru said in understanding.
"That's right." Yang stated. "I never got drafted, but I'm sure it'll be fine. Now here are the totals for those of you who got offers." Yang added, as she brought up the list on the projector.
The class were all looking up but some were disappointed that their names didn't have any offers next to them. What they weren't surprised about, was the fact Scythe got the most offers out of all the students in the class. Being 5252 offers, under her was Todoroki, and then came Ruby, Bakugo, Tokoyami, Iida, Kaminari, Yaoyorozu, Kirishima, Uraraka, and finally Sero.
"In past years, or as it's my understanding, the offers are more spread out. But there seems to be a pretty big gap this time." Yang exclaimed.
"Gah." Kaminari whined dramatically. "That's no fair."
"What about the real star, muah?" Yuga questioned fuming a bit.
"Oh put a sock in it Tinkerbell, you didn't do anything special." Ruby exclaimed. "How about you pull your head out of your ass and deflate your ego a bit?"
"Scythe got the most? I'd have thought not a lot of people would give her offers because of how self-destructive her power can be. I mean her arm did get torn from her body in her fight against Todoroki." Jiro stated.
"I can hear you ya know." Scythe stated.
"People want us." Uraraka said, tears of joy in her eyes as she jumped up and down in her seat at a rapid fire pace.
"Despite these results, you'll all be interning with Pros. You understand?" Yang exclaimed. "Even those of you who didn't get any offers, you'll still get assigned Pros to work with. Though I can tell you that these hero names will likely, be temporary, but take them seriously or…"
"You'll have hell to pay later." Midnight's voice resonated in the room as she opened the door to the classroom, coming in with a sexy sashay in her stride, her mask on top of her head, like a pair of glasses. "What you pick today could be your code name for life. You'd better be careful, or you'll be stuck with something utterly indecent."
'It's Midnight.' All the boys thought.
"Yeah, she's got a good point." Yang chuckled, patting out the whiteboards, and markers for them to use. "I remember what Mic told me about Mr. Aizawa's hero name, and how he got stuck with it. But back to the task at hand, Midnight is gonna have final approval over your names, which is something I can agree to. The name you give yourself is important, it helps to reinforce your image, and shows what kind of hero you want to be in the future. A code name, tells people exactly what you represent. Take my dad's name, All Might for example. Or my actual name. Yang means the symbolization of peace between the two factions of harmony and chaos of Yin and Yang. Which is why I went with it in the first place. Though people seem to mistake the two for the opposites, thinking Yin, means peace and harmony."
"Hmm…" Scythe thought as she stared at the blank white board in front of her.
The time ticked by, and it seemed most of the other students had chosen out their names, though something did come to a bit of a surprise for some of them.
"Now students, who among you is ready to share?" Midnight questioned.
'We're presenting these?' Kirishima questioned.
'Oh great who's got the balls to go first?' Sero asked, just as panicked as the spikey redhead beside him.
Aoyama was the first to come up and give his hero name.
"Hold your breath." He said. "The shining hero. I can, not stop twinkling. Mon Amie, you can't deny my sparkles."
The rest of the class either looked at him like he was insane, or he was indirectly coming out of the closet.
'Come on.' The class thought.
"It'll be better this way. Take out the, I, and shorten the, cannot, to can't." Midnight exclaimed doing some edits to the name.
"It's stunning mademoiselle." Aoyama stated.
"She likes it?" The class questioned.
"Also, you're not really French are you, that's just an act." Sato accused.
"No, he's French, his transcripts prove it." Yang stated.
"Oki-dokie let me go next." Mina exclaimed coming to the front, showing her name. "My code name, Alien Queen."
"Hold on, like that horrible monster with the acidic blood? I don't think so." Midnight exclaimed.
"I like it." Scythe said.
"Same." Ruby agreed.
"I support her choice to." Yang chuckled. "Also, did you watch Aliens when you were little or something, and that's why you don't like the name?"
"I said no." Midnight said, standing her ground.
"Dang it." Mina said, in disappointment going back to her seat.
'That one wasn't okay?' The class questioned.
"Ribbit. I think I've got one okay if I go next?" Tsu asked, raising her hand.
"Come on up." Midnight smiled.
"I've had this name in mind since grade school." Tsu said coming to the front. "Rainy Season Hero: Froppy."
"That's delightful, it makes you sound approachable." Midnight exclaimed. "What a great example of a name everyone will love."
"Me next." Kirishima stated coming to the front. "I've got mine to. The Sturdy Hero, my name is Red Riot."
"Red Riot? Interesting, you're paying homage to the Chivalrous Hero: Crimson Riot, yes?" Midnight asked.
"That's right." Kirishima stated. "He may be kinda old school, but someday I wanna be just like he was, Crimson was my idol."
"Hmm… If you're bearing the name of someone you admire, you have that much more to live up to." Midnight smiled.
"I accept the challenge." Kirishima said, with a proud and confident smile.
"Man, I still haven't been able to think of anything that's cool enough." Kaminari suggested before he felt a tap on his shoulder from Jiro.
"Hey I've got one you could try." She said with a mischievous grin on her face. "How does Jamming-yay sound to you?"
"Ha, oh it's like Heming-way who wrote a farewell to arms right?" Kaminari questioned. "Real clever, I like it."
"No. It's because even though you're powerful you always, jam you brain." Jiro said, trying not to laugh before she couldn't hold it in anymore.
"Surprise-surprise, the brain shocker knows his music." Ruby stated.
"Oh come on Jiro, Rose, quit messing with me." Kaminari shouted as Jiro went to the front.
"The Hearing Hero: I'm Earphone Jack." Jiro stated.
"Now that's a good one." Midnight exclaimed.
Next up was Shoji.
"The Tentacle Hero: Tentacole."
"Oh I like what you're doing with that, a nice portmanteau." Midnight said.
Sero.
"The Taping Hero: Cellophane."
"That's on the nose, good work." Midnight stated.
Ojiro.
"Martial Arts Hero: Tail Man"
"No surprise with that one I guess."
Sato.
"I'm the Sweets Hero: Sugarman."
"Perfect."
Mina again.
"Pinky."
"Make those looks work for you girl."
Kaminari.
"Stun Gun Hero: I am Chargebolt. Electric don't you think?"
"Makes me all tingly."
Toru.
"The Stealth Hero: Invisible Girl."
"That really suits you."
"Yeah, but she's just plagiarizing off the Marvel Comics Invisible Girl from the Fantastic Four." Yang stated. "I'd go with something more along the lines of… Shining Light. Her Quirk is just basically light reflecting off her body, making her invisible to the naked eye."
"Now come on, who's gonna step up next?" Midnight questioned.
"I hope that I can live up to this name. The, Everything Hero: I'm Creati." Momo said.
"Creative."
Todoroki.
"Shoto."
"Just your name, is that it?" Midnight asked.
"Uh-huh."
Tokoyami.
"Jet-Black Hero: Tsukuyomi."
"Uh, God of the night."
Mineta.
"I'm the Fresh-Picked Hero: Grape Juice." He held the sign up because his head couldn't go over the podium.
"Very catchy."
Kudo.
His sign said Petting Hero: Anima.
"Yep, all about it." Midnight said with a thumbs ups.
Bakugo.
"King Explosion Murder."
"I'm gonna say that one's a little too violent." Midnight stated.
"Huh, what do you mean?" Bakugo questioned.
"Why don't you be explosion boy?" Kirishima suggested teasing him.
"You shut up weird hair." Bakugo shouted.
"How about the Explosion Hero: Ground Zero?" Ruby suggested. "I think it has a nice ring to it."
"Uh…" Bakugo froze for a bit, before sticking his hands in his pockets, and looking away. "I'll use it, thanks." He said with a slight blush.
"You sure I should recede the engagement?" Yang teased.
"Shut up." Bakugo said, marching back to his desk, as Uraraka came to the front.
"Okay, my turn." She said. "This is the name I thought of, Uravity."
"I just love that." Midnight exclaimed with a smile. "To be honest, choosing names is going faster than I thought it would. All we have left is young Ms. Bakugo, Iida, Ruby, and Scythe. Then that's the entire class."
While Tenya looked like he was still going through the process of choosing a name, Ruby came up to present hers.
"The Reaping Hero: Scarlet Huntress." Ruby stated.
"Oh I see, you're wanting to follow in your sister's footsteps so you chose Huntress, and the color that best suits your looks. Very fashionable and noble." Midnight smiled.
"Uh, I chose one from a hero that I look up. Also I have similar powers to her as well, so I thought it seemed appropriate. So please to make fun of me." Weiss said, showing her card. "The Elegant Hero: Ice-Princess."
"Oh, you're a fan of Ice-Queen's huh? Can't say I blame you, that suit of hers is rather hot, for an icy personality." Midnight punned.
"T-that's not why I chose to use a name similar to hers." Weiss said with a blush. "I chose it, because she's an inspiration to me. I first thought my powers were a curse, that all they could do was keep drinks cold. But when I saw her on the news, I started to feel better about who I was, and I felt more confident in myself."
"An' that has nothing to do with the fact you're dating her son right?" Midnight inquired.
"No, in all honesty, I don't really care if Todoroki is her son or not. Our pasts are so similar, it just feels right to be with him." Weiss stated, fidgeting in place a bit.
"Alright, enough teasing the poor girl Midnight. Who's next?" Yang inquired.
"I'll go." Iida said.
Iida put his white board down and all that was on it, was his name.
"You're using your real name to?" Midnight asked.
"Don't feel comfortable with taking Ingenium's mantle yet huh?" Yang asked.
"How did you…"
"That's what I wanted to talk about with you yesterday, but I wasn't able to. Ingenium wanted my opinion on giving you his title, since he's in a pretty bad condition. But it appears he's already spoken with you about it. An' you've clearly made up your mind so there's no use trying to change it until you're ready." Yang exclaimed.
"Alright, Scythe, do you have a name yet?" Midnight questioned.
"Hmm…"
Scythe scribbled down a few words, on her white board before coming up to the front of the class, presenting her name.
"Godslayer." Scythe stated.
"Going by the name of your Quirk? That's kinda bold, not a lot of heroes do that." Midnight stated. "I approve."
"Now that everyone's decided on their hero names. We can go back to talking about your upcoming internships." Yang stated. "They'll last for one week. As for who you'll be working with, those of you who were offered, will choose from among them. But those who weren't offered, as I said before, will be assigned heroes to work with. You have a lot to think about, there are around forty agencies who've agreed to take on interns from your class. Like Quirks, each agency has a different specialty that its heroes focus on. Keep that in mind."
"Imagine that you were Thirteen. You'd want to choose a place that focuses on rescuing people, not fighting against villains or criminals." Midnight exampled.
"Think carefully before you decide." Yang exclaimed.
"Yessir." The class said in unison as the bells rang out.
"Good. Now, it's time for lunch. But remember, turn in your sheets by the end of the day." Yang stated. "Otherwise, you'll be interning for Huntress Agency, an' we'll work you to the bone."
