Hey y'all! Just wanted to close off this story with a real quick recap of Frozen 2, as I'm already planning out a "threequel" of sorts, following this story. I won't give too much away for what I'm planning, but all I'll say is that I'm going to tie in elements from the original Snow Queen tale into the world of Frozen! It's still very much of a WIP, but I cannot wait to post it! I love me some twisted fantasy ;D In the meantime, enjoy this final chapter of Trust Runs Deep! Love y'all!

Conrad had seriously been thrown into a tailspin with all the elemental stuff he'd endured since Elsa revealed the whole "unknown voice" thing. When the elements tore up Arendelle, he and Elsa had to leave Kjerstin in the care of Kai and Gerda while they were gone.

"Conrad, you should stay here and help keep everyone relaxed."

"Elsa, I'm coming with you. We're all going to go with you." No further argument was made.

Upon encountering the Northuldra in the enchanted forest, Conrad struck up a friendship with Lieutenant Mattias alongside Anna. He also had to help Kristoff try to propose to Anna, which… didn't go as planned. Then Elsa just… left. Conrad's intuition told him though it was for a reason, didn't mean he wasn't irked she didn't tell him, then again, Anna didn't tell Kristoff either.

Most of the time, Conrad and Kristoff hung with Ryder, Mattias, Honeymaren and the other Northuldra while they waited for the sisters and Olaf to return.

Back in Arendelle, Kai and Gerda watched the little princess play with the village children, messing around with her powers.

"Sweet little thing, just like her mother." Gerda remarked.

A few days in though, the Arendellians noticed something peculiar happen with the princess and her powers. She suddenly became lethargic and she couldn't muster the energy or strength to use her abilities, like a valve had been shut off. Grand Pabbie immediately sensed something happened to Elsa, but he couldn't see it.

"Is she going to be alright?" Gerda asked. Grand Pabbie looked at the toddler for a moment.

"Whatever's happened to Elsa, has affected her. We must wait and see when Elsa returns what happens to the princess." The kingdom waited in heavy anticipation, awaiting the returned of the king, queen, princess and the royal ice harvester.

Suddenly, the princess regained her normal composure, but her powers began overreacting. Then, they heard a roar. The sound of water. Alarmed, everyone looked up the fjord, where, much to their disbelief and horror, a flood came rushing down towards the kingdom.

"OH MY GOD!" Someone shrieked. There was horrified silence as there was no way to stop a flood that massive. But then, they saw something come down the front of the flood, a figure, no… two! A horse!

"A water horse?! What is that!" Someone asked. The figure stopped right in front of the walls of the castle, and suddenly, with no hesitation, the figure instantaneously created a barrier.

It was the queen! Kjerstin burst into a huge smile upon recognizing her mother, as the queen turned around to look up at her subjects, safely atop in the mountains, overlooking a now safe kingdom.

"Mama!" The toddler exclaimed delightfully. Elsa blew a kiss to her daughter, a snowflake brushing her cheek.

The queen and the water horse soon disappeared back up the fjord, back to the enchanted forest.

Conrad and Kristoff comforted Anna, and Conrad could feel the pain in his chest. The very idea of losing his wife hurt more than anything he could fathom. He went to go talk to Mattias, when he saw Anna overlooking the fjord and suddenly running down.

"What?" He followed close behind. And much to his shock, but delight, was seeing his wife approach them on a magnificent creature, dismount and stand before Anna.

He let the sisters have their moment. Elsa looked up and saw him, tears glittering in her crystal blue eyes. He stumbled down the rocky cliff-face and stood before her, gazing upon her appearance. She took his hand in hers, looking up at him.

"It's really you…" He whispered, running a hand through her hair, "you changed your hair." He gasped out, trying to fight back tears. He and Elsa shared a tearful laugh and kiss, he scooped her up and twirled her around. He set her down and allowed her to hug Kristoff.

Conrad watched with a grin as Kristoff finally got the right moment to pop the question, to which received a tearful "YES".

Elsa's eyes suddenly got wide.

"Kjerstin! I need to see her!" Together, after their exchanges with the Northuldra, Anna, Conrad and Kristoff took Elsa back to Arendelle, to greet the village and to see the toddler princess.

Obviously the village was shocked to see the changes their queen underwent, but they were relieved she was alright. Elsa was emotional upon reuniting with her daughter. She and Conrad shared a moment with Kjerstin.

"What're you thinking, Elsa?" Anna asked. Elsa bounced the toddler around in her arms.

"Her powers are so in tune with mine… it would be criminal to leave her here while I'm needed in the forest…"

"She'll live in the forest with you?" Anna asked. Elsa nodded, but took Conrad's hand in hers.

"She'll live in the forest with us." Conrad didn't need to say yes, he was always ready to follow Elsa wherever she went, and to the north he would go.

Elsa and Anna came to the agreement that the crown would be passed on to Anna, but Kjerstin would still remain in line for the throne, to which Anna made no argument with. She loved her niece, and would do anything for her. And when her niece was ready, she'd be there for her.

In the meantime though, Kjerstin would live in the north with her parents and the Northuldra, to learn to control and maintain her powers. And in the end, it all came around. And Conrad was beyond happy to see Elsa as she was truly meant to be.

The snow queen.
