Jack and Rose were downstairs with Josie, who was crawling around. "She's growing up so fast! She's almost one," said Rose.

"I know, next weekend is her birthday," said Jack. Just then, Josie grasped the coffee table and pulled herself up to stand. And then, she started walking.

Rose spotted it first. "Jack, Jack," she said, nudging him. "She's walking," Jack jumped up and grabbed his camera. Rose propped herself up and went onto her knees. Josie started walking toward her, while Jack started taking pictures. "Jack, are you getting this?"

"I think so," Jack smiled from behind the camera. "Either way, I can draw it later."

"Mama," said Josie, and she started waddling toward Rose. When she finally got to her, Rose put her arms around her and held her close.

She kissed the top of the baby's head. "I'm so proud of you, baby girl," she said tearfully. Jack put the camera down and sat next to Rose and Josie.

"We love you, Josie," said Jack and he held her and Rose close to him. He kissed Rose's cheek and smiled.

Later, while Josie was sleeping, Jack and Rose were talking downstairs. "I don't know, Jack," Rose sighed. "It feels wrong."

"Rose, we haven't left the baby in eleven months. At some point we're going to need to go out on our own. Emma offered to babysit her at some point, why don't we do that this week?" Jack asked.

"Exactly. We haven't left the baby in eleven months, and it just doesn't feel right to leave her. But at the same time, I feel like we need a date night," said Rose.

"We do need a date night," said Jack. "And also, we're going to leave her sometimes when she's older, we're not going to stay with her the whole eighteen years she's home. She's going to need to spend a night on her own at some point."

Rose sighed. "Are you sure?"

Jack stepped over to Rose and put his arms around her waist, pulling her closer. "Listen," he whispered, "if you don't want to, then we won't. But I think we should."

Rose kissed Jack. "I want to."

It was the next night, and Jack and Rose were laying in bed talking. "It's been over three years since we met on Titanic," said Rose, "and we have a whole life together. Do you think we've put Titanic behind us?"

Jack was thrown off by the question. "I'm not sure. I don't know if we'll ever put it behind us."

"I know, but do you think it's still in the back of your mind, about to come back up?"

Jack frowned. "Is it that way for you?"

"I don't think about it so much anymore, and I don't have nightmares," said Rose. "But sometimes I still have triggers. And I wish I didn't."

"What kind of triggers?" Jack asked.

"Cold water still sets me off a little," said Rose, hesitating.

"There's another one. Something you're not telling me," Jack took Rose's hand in his. "Whatever it is, you can tell me."

Rose sighed. "The song. Come Josephine. Every time you or I sing it, it sends me back to the bow of Titanic."

"It does?" Jack asked. "How come you haven't told me?"

"Believe it or not, it didn't start until recently. But at least it's a happy memory, not-" Rose froze.

"Not, what? Come on, Rosie. Tell me," he pleaded.

A tear trickled down Rose's cheek. "When we were in the water, and you were unconscious, and I was just singing the song while floating."

"Rose, I'm so sorry," said Jack. "I had no idea."

"But I want you to keep singing it. It still means so much to me," Rose said. "Do you have flashbacks?"

Jack took a deep breath. "I don't really have flashbacks, but I still think about the people all the time. Fabrizio, Tommy, Helga, Cora," his voice cracked with that last name. "All of those people that never got to fall in love, never got to become parents, never got to do whatever they wanted to do."

"Oh, Jack," Rose sighed. She put her head on Jack's shoulder. Jack kissed the top of her head. "I'm just so glad I didn't lose you. At least, through it all, we'll always have each other."

"And I promise," said Jack, looking deeply into her eyes, "You'll always have me. I'll always be here with you."

"I love you," said Rose, "and no matter how bad Titanic was and how tragic it was, it'll always be where we met, where we fell in love."

"You're right," said Jack, "I love you so much." They joined together in a romantic kiss.

They separated and continued talking. "You know what's weird?" Rose asked.

"What's weird?" Jack asked, his ice blue eyes glimmering.

"Parenthood is not as hard as I thought it would be," said Rose.

Jack laughed. "Just wait until Josie is missing curfew and drinking and partying. Then it'll be hard."

"I mean, I'm sure it's different once they're older, but I thought there would be a lot more crying and exhaustion and stinky diapers. It's not so bad," said Rose. "Besides, the adorable things she does…"

"The laugh…" Jack smiled.

"The talking…"

"The crawling…"

"The baby talk…"

"All of it. Just holding her makes me cry sometimes," said Jack.

Rose smiled. "Does it really?"

Jack smiled uncomfortably. "Yeah, I just get caught up in the amazingness of her, and my emotions get the better of me."

"That's so sweet!" Rose kissed Jack again.

"Remember when we weren't parents? It feels like so long ago now!" Jack said.

"Yeah it does, it's crazy," said Rose.

"We were just kids, what did we know?"

Rose laughed. "You just sounded really old."

"Well, I am. I'm getting old now," said Jack.

Rose looked at him. "You're twenty three."

"Well, I'm a father now," said Jack, smiling. "I've also picked up some dad jokes. Want to hear them?"

Rose smiled. "Of course I do."

"Well, my wife is really mad at the fact that I have no sense of direction. So I packed up and right."

"Very funny," said Rose. "I've got one. What do zombie vegetarians eat? Graaaaains."

Jack laughed. "How about this one. Having sex in an elevator is wrong. On so many levels."

Rose laughed hysterically. "If you ever tell Josie that one, though…"

"I think if I told Josie that joke you'd strangle me with your bare hands," Jack smiled.

"Probably," said Rose. She looked over at the clock. "Jack, it's already one thirty! And you have work tomorrow."

"It is?" Jack asked, to which Rose nodded. "Oh well. Talking to my wife is more important." He kissed Rose.

"I'm not tired," Rose sighed.

"Neither am I," said Jack. He smiled mischievously and winked. "Want to go again?"

Rose laughed and leaned against Jack. She kissed him softly, and deepened the kiss.
