"Naruto-nii…I need to talk to you about something." Hantei said as his older brother casually deflected a strong, but blatantly copied, Gama Kumite Leaping Reverse Kick.

"Enough…Naruto-Gaki's done well, in the spare time he's had…Naruto-Gaki, Hatsume and Kagami require…"

"I thought so…sensei. Now, Hantei-otouto what was it?"

Hantei gulped as he looked at his brother and the famed Shunshin no Shisui; the only Uchiha purportedly able to keep up with his father's Hiraishin no Jutsu. "Shimura-Sama approached me."

He watched as his role models, calm and lacksidisal personalities change. They were now Two of Konoha's Bingo Booked Shinobi; Shunshin no Shisui; the Phantom Speedster, an A-ranked Shinobi who had mastered the Shunshin, an exceptionally powerful skill and to be approached with caution. Not much was known about his other skills other than the Sharingan Genjutsu.

His brother had now become the 'Orange Flash' and 'Konohagakure no Kaijin' and one of the few able to stop a Bijuu.

"What did he want?"
"What did he offer?"
"What did he say?"

"Wanted to see me achieve my potential to protect Konoha, He was going to give me personal training and he asked me some stuff about The Great Tree, I think he meant Konoha and offered me the chance to become a root…"

"Root, Ni…A force that should no longer exist." Shisui spat.

"Please tell me you didn't…" Began Naruto.

Hantei shook his head rapidly "Asked him to let me think about it."

"And?"

"Later, once I know what I'm getting into with him."

"That's actually a smart idea; if it wasn't for the fact he goes for Academy Students with potential and Promising Genin…I was considered as was Itachi, we persuaded the attackers otherwise."

Hantei nodded, he'd heard some raised voices when he was younger, forgotten memories "Those voices arguing…"

"Myself and Tou-san." Hantei nodded "Why is your sensei here?"

"Hantei, I pulled in A LOT of favours for this. Besides Shisui-sensei turned me into a decent shinobi, I was a lippy shit…You not so much."

"So you're fobbing me off…"

"Not really, for me to effectively teach you requires a specific type of training; something Shisui is proficient in. Guaranteed you, you'll be a Chunin or will have impressed the panel this time around. Hantei…Have fun. Shisui-sensei…try not to kill him."

(Sasuke)

Sasuke landed and he surveyed his work. It had been a shuriken jutsu exercise, to help him do the All-Approach Septuple Shuriken Jutsu and he had hit the targets but not all in the bullseye.

"Not bad, Sasuke…It is not an easy one to learn." Itachi said watching from the clearing.

"But you got it…"

"Only because Konoha needed as many fighters as possible and there are not many shinobi as innately ready for combat like the Uchiha Clan."

Sasuke nodded "I get it, but it's annoying. You seem to have everything."

"To have everything because of my position…it's not a place to be. Naruto, is in a similar position; Eldest son of the Yondaime and Heir to the Namikaze and Uzumaki Clan seats, Container of a cataclysmic power…"

Sasuke nodded "Father won't give me much time still."

"Father is a proud and complicated man. He loves you Sasuke, he loves you more than you could know. The reason he hasn't come to you is because he fears he cannot teach you…You didn't perform the 'Rite of Passage', instead you performed a much more powerful version of it; and its flamethrower variant. He fears, he cannot teach you anything."

"Sasuke, have you thought about creating your own jutsu? I could help you." The Uchiha brothers turned around to see Fugaku moving towards them.

"Tou-sama." They chorused.

Fugaku made his way to them, went on to his knees and bowed until his forehead hit the floor "My apologies, I should have been a better father to you both, I only wanted the Uchiha to receive the recognition they deserved. Now Itachi has been considered candidate to Godaime."

The boys nodded "Sasuke, has your teacher tested you for your affinities?"

"I…" Sasuke stopped as Kakashi, strolled into the clearing accompanied by a branch member of the Uchiha "…Fugaku-sama, Sharingan no Kakashi is here for an audience."

Fugaku turned to the wiry built, Hatake Clan…One man wasn't a clan really "Hatake-san."

"Uchiha-San, I was about to find out Uchiha Sasuke's elemental affinities and offer him some training and a potential offer."

"That offer is?"

"The word is out that Inu might be coming back. Inu, has offered Sasuke training should he make Chunin."

"Who is Inu, Kakashi-sensei?" Sasuke asked.

"ANBU. An ANBU member is offering you training."

Fugaku nodded, and he produced some chakra paper. Sasuke turned out to be Lightning, Fire and Water "Kakashi-san, I shall defer to you."

(Month later)

Naruto looked like hell. His uniform looked like it hadn't been maintained properly. Bags were forming under his eyes, but finally he had managed to get his Vest sorted.

Hantei was aching and bruised but he was ready. Sasuke was the same; however, surprisingly the same applied to Sakura. The fact she made it to the preliminary stage not under her own skill had rattled her. She had spent the month working on her chakra control, studying her mothers medical-nin scrolls and developing her taijutsu.

He had successfully turned down Danzo's training, and had dived into the training set by Shisui and had developed for the better from it.

(Sakura)

Now she was sitting in the arena; with a long shirt, shorts and knee-high socks and heeled sandals now looking the part of a kunoichi.

She had improved drastically. She'd become Chunin next time.

(Arena)

"Welcome to the Konoha Chunin Exams…Can all bar the first participants please leave the stadium." Announced Genma.

Up in the stadium, the various panellists i.e. the Shinobi council were observing the participants. The results were interesting but unfortunately lacking; as some of the participants didn't impress really, Hantei got a few votes as did Hyuga Neji but there was nothing overly special about the fights.

The matches passed and eventually the second round began and the first match was Gaara vs Sasuke. The Kazekage smirked and somewhere deep in the stadiums a cloaked Kabuto placed his hands together "Nehan Shoja no Jutsu."

Feathers fell, people fell asleep and the Kazekage chuckled "Minato-kun, time to die."
