"Santa honey, a '54 convertible too, light blue.."
The Christmas songs were already playing on repeat when Gotham's most eligible bachelor finally joined the mayor's winter ball. Bruce Wayne really wasn't for such outings, but playing the role of eccentric playboy billionaire had its requisites.
His irritation was added to by the itchy feeling all over his skin, thanks to the tests done on him at STAR labs. God he wished he had quick healing. He had taken Catwoman to Central City to be checked out for any infections from the plague. It took a hundred tests from an over eager Dr. Snow to confirm what they already knew: no exposure. He also gave the intuitive technical ropes to the team's gadget expert, who was more than happy to help the Batman.
Bruce subtly scratched his arm while he looked for any interesting faces, maybe some friends or family he could happily abide his time with. He'd heard rumor that Thomas Elliot was back in Gotham. His old best friend had made quite the name for himself as a top brain surgeon. Lee Tompkins would be here, she'd never miss a charity ball. Most importantly, she would be here.
He found Lee first. His aunt had spotted him and called him over to introduce Bruce to some of his father's old friends. Most of them mentioned how he was living up to his father's shadow, and a couple planned on running projects with Wayne Enterprises. Bruce was dying inside, stuck with a group of old people when the light of his life showed him the way out.
"Excuse me, just a sec," he absently waved them and had already walked off to where he wanted to be.

Selina Kyle was feeling very festive after her recent brush with death. Batman had driven her to Central city's STAR labs to get checked out. He'd made her lose the mask, but didn't dare take off his own. How unfair, she thought. Too many scientists, and not enough red streaks at STAR. Dr. Snow poked her with a hundred needles to confirm she didn't have the plague.
As soon as Selina had made it home, she called her sister. After crying about how she'd almost died without saying goodbye, Selina told Maggie all about her adventures with the superheroes, and her date with Bruce Wayne.
After almost dying, Selina wanted to live a little. And there was only one event that served both her lives: the mayor's ball. She'd attend as a socialite, and leave as a cat burglar. How fun! Selina shopped her outfit with her sister, everything from the color to the silhouette of her dress. She asked Maggie to join her, but little Kyle was on a charity tour to Africa, bringing holiday cheer to underprivileged children.
That night, Selina dreamt about herself, attending some similar charity ball. She was wearing a black dress, and the only one with a mask. At some point she rescued Bruce from a witch of the south, and he had definitely caught her stealing. She planned to escape by kissing him, but then that kiss turned into another kiss, and she found herself in his bed, enjoying a very merry night.
Two days of shopping later, and Selina was ready to hit the mayor's ball. Full of stuffed shirts and old hags. Maybe she'd let someone "catch" her stealing and call Batman.
She was late to the party but quick to mingle, picking her targets easily. One mark got a little clingy and swept her into a waltz. He kept talking some nonsense or the other, and Selina tried her best to giggle at the fitting times.
"Oh look, mistletoe." He said, and that got her attention.
Selina looked up behind her and sure enough, there was mistletoe. She burned inside, but smiled and put her hand behind the man's neck.
"You know, mistletoe can be deadly if you eat it." She grimly said with a grin on her face, but it wasn't the man's confusion that startled her.
"A kiss can be even deadlier if you mean it."
The couple turned to look at Bruce Wayne standing intimately close, who took the opportunity to steal the other man's girl.
"Oh my God!" She laughed, throwing her head back as she placed her hands on him.
"Happy to see me?"
"Always love to play the hero, don't you?" She said, subtly hinting at knowing about his alter ego.
"Whenever there's a damsel in distress." He playfully shrugged.
Selina clicked her tongue.
"Not a damsel in distress, baby."
A look crossed his face and her own words echoed in her ears, but not from this time. From the first time she'd told him that. She put two and two together and laughed again as he twirled her.
"I've told you that before!" Selina suggested to him.
She recognized his struggle to pull a fake pout.
"I don't recall."
"Might wanna check for early Alzheimer's." A new voice cut in and Bruce let go of Selina, turning instead to his friend.
"Tommy Elliot!" Bruce ecstatically recalled and embraced his best friend in a Bro hug. "A Christmas gift for sure!"
Tommy pulled back and motioned to Bruce's dance partner.
"You might wanna take that back!" He joked.
"Oh, Selina this is my friend Thomas Elliot. Tommy, Selina Kyle."
"Doctor Tommy Elliot," Tommy corrected as he took Selina's hand for a shake.
"Nice to meet you. I'll leave you two lovers to catch up."
Then she grabbed Bruce's shoulder to whisper in his ear:
"I'll help you remember later," she winked at him and left the boys with a merry Christmas.
Selina walked off, leaving the rich kids to catch up. She herself found some of her socialite friends, and even Leslie Tompkins.
It was getting late and Selina was getting bored waiting for Bruce, till she got the devious idea to catch his attention. She stood by the champagne tower, sipping her drinks as she locked her stare on Bruce. After long last he turned, locking eyes with her as she watched him over the rim of her flute.
Bruce was so lost in reconnecting with his best friend that he forgot about Selina. It wasn't until he felt someone burning holes in his shoulder that he turned, catching her staring at him over her glass. Bruce smirked and finally excused himself from Tommy, following Selina as she went up the stairs, red trail flowing behind her.
Selina stepped into the elevator alone and screwing social norms, decided not to face the door. She didn't know what to, or not to expect, but when the doors slid close, Selina knew she wasn't alone. She was really going to do this. Selina turned to him and he replied her smile, but didn't take one step. Selina appreciated his gentlemanliness, but this wasn't the time. She took his hand and pulled him to her, lips already parted, waiting for him.
Bruce followed her into the elevator, but didn't say anything until she made up her mind. The elevator closed and she turned around, watching him. Finally, she pulled him close and Bruce grabbed her face, walking her closer to the wall.
Selina absorbed in his warmth, loving how her lips fit between his, as if made for it. He pushed her against the wall and the cold metal stung her back and she jumped further into him. She gasped at the shock, and he tentatively wiped his tongue under her lip. Selina let out a tiny moan and laughed airily as he smirked. His tongue battled her own, giving her a massage like feeling which made Selina have very dirty thoughts.
Bruce's hand went up and down her long column of a neck, and when he pressed on her clavicle, Selina tossed her head back, exposing her neck to him. He pecked her lips and marked slow kisses down her jaw to her neck. Selina fisted her fingers through his hair while her other hand slipped under his jacket, untucking his shirt as she ran her fingers over his obliques.
His tongue swiped the hollow of her neck and she moaned as he pressed further into her. Using the corner as leverage, Selina lifted up her knee some, pulling Bruce's left leg between hers. His knee pressed against her other thigh, but not high enough for her to do anything.
She whined her disdain and he teasingly smirked. Thankfully, he grabbed her other leg, pressing it against his hip. He circled his thumb in her thigh and her head lurched forward, nipping at his ear.
Suddenly, Bruce pulled at her thigh, jerking her down on his leg. Selina gasped as his knee pressed right where she wanted him. Putting her head back, she ground on his knee without care. Bruce pushed his torso away from her, using the distance to kiss down her exposed cleavage. He bit on the side of a breast and she squealed, her noise silenced by the persistent ding of the elevator.
Bruce pulled away first, watching her leaned over breathless. He randomly tugged on his suit jacket, making himself somewhat more presentable before letting the door open. Once Selina was standing proper, he cupped her neck and kissed her, before grabbing her hand to lead her out.
His steps were wide and quick and Selina had to almost jog on her heels to catch up. They found his room cause he spun her forward and pressed her against the door, bruisingly kissing her as he attempted to keycard his penthouse.
Selina pulled him by his shirt, untucking it all the way. She'd started on his buttons by the time Bruce opened the door, but switched to ripping off his jacket once they were inside. They ripped off his tie together and then he turned her around, tugging her head back, tongue down her throat.
His hands slid up her silhouette, feeling her body, and everything on it.
"You're gonna need to put them out," he subtly hinted at her stolen goods.
"Only if you promise put something in," she tossed right back.
He promised with a wink and undid the one button holding her dress up. Selina stepped out of the dress, revealing matching red lingerie. Then she pressed up against Bruce, walking him backwards towards the bed as she helped him take off his belt.
"Now you're the one wearing too much clothes," she looked up at him, mentioning the slacks around his ankles and the ripped white shirt hanging on his heavy shoulders.
Bruce fell sitting on the bed and Selina helped him take off the sorry excuse of clothing. Bruce held her hips as she eyed all over his naked skin, her face showing mixed emotion.
Selina didn't know how to feel. The man before her was pristine, made of marble. But marble with chipping cracks. A concerned laugh escaped her as she drew a finger over his scars.
"Aren't you bothered?" She knelt before him, examining more scars. "All these scars?"
Bruce stroked her face and smirked.
"I can take a couple more."
Selina returned his smile.
"Let's start with taking care of these, first."
She began kissing the closest scar her lips could reach, making her way up to his shoulder, at which point she pushed him back on the bed. Selina fell on him, pressing her lips roughly to his.
"Now, what did you say about new scars?"
Bruce grabbed her arms and pulled up to kiss her, then spun so she was pinned under him.
"All I want for Christmas!"
Come on home from Christmas to read this warm and cozy chapter!
Merry Christmas!
