Chapter 27

Master Bedroom - Harry's Tent – December 25, 2007

The new lovers had spent the last couple of days lazing around the tent, basking in their new Bond and the closeness that it brought. They had all been glad that there hadn't been any plans made for the days following the Bonding as they finally had time to relax and not worry about the next Rift alert.

That morning the three of them were getting ready as they were supposed to be at Ianto's sisters place by noon. They planed to have lunch with Ianto's family, Ianto had let them know that his sister had wanted for them to stay longer but Ianto didn't want to put anymore strain on their recently rekindled relationship. This was the first time since Ianto had run away from home after his father's death that he would spend Christmas with his sister.

If anyone who knew the trio has seen them, they probably not have recognized them. Jack looked as if he had walked off the front page of GQ. Jack was missing his great coat and had ditched the circa 50s clothing, instead he was dressed in a dark blue button up dress shirt and a light gray pair of slacks. Harry wore a short dress with black leggings under it; the top of the dress was black and had long sleeves with a sweetheart neck line, the skirt of the dress was a red tartan that stopped just below her knees. Her hair was loose and no tied back like she normally kept it. Ianto had actually dressed down as he had decided not to wear his signature three-piece suit. Instead Ianto had on a light blue dress shirt and khaki pants.

The only piece of jewelry that all three of them wore was the matching Lomond rings on their left ring fingers. The bands were from the Bonding jewelry and could only be worn by the coven, they were made from the same silvery metal that the athame had been made of. Harry had explained that the Magi called the metal Mythril, it was a metal so rare that they only items known to have been made with it was the Bonding jewelry and tools.

The three of them took a portkey back to Harry's flat where they loaded up Harry's car with presents and pies that Harry had made the night before. The presents had been bought from a list that Ianto's sister had given them, as none of them were sure what to buy for children.

"I hate this car." Jack grumbled as he got into the driver's seat.

Ianto got into the passenger seat before Harry passed him one of the pies to hold.

"Not everyone wants a vehicle that stands out as much as the SUV, Jack." Harry said as she slid into the back, carefully balancing a pie as she buckled up.

"Why couldn't we have at least taken Ianto car, I like it much better." Jack complained as he pulled out of the parking garage.

"Because I don't have secure parking at my flat so I left my car at the Hub." Ianto said flatly, knowing that Jack was only complaining for the sake of complaining. The only vehicle that Jack liked was the SUV because it was his baby, the whole team knew that. "We can always go back and get it."

"No, this is a Torchwood free vacation we will not be going to the Hub, not even for Jack's beloved SUV." Harry stated sternly causing Ianto to laugh, the two of them agreed that Jack was way too attached the SUV.

"Speaking of parking we should really should start looking for a house." Jack said after rolling his eyes at the last comment, because he really couldn't contest it.

The comment threw Ianto for a moment, he thought that it was pretty clear that they were going to be living in Harry's tent. The tent was perfect and he was absolutely in love with the library. Harry saw Ianto's confusion at Jack's statement, but she understood what Jack was talking about. Ianto has never had live anonymously in a society that is getting better at tracking their citizens.

Jack having seen Ianto's confusion explained. "Well the first reason is obvious, you and Harry shouldn't have to waste your money renting flats that we will never really use. The other reason is that we still need a place, even if it is just for show, we can't exactly invite people back to the tent without raising some serious flags."

"I suppose that does make sense." Ianto said, before groaning. "This means house shopping."

Both Jack and Harry laughed at the perfect picture of misery that Ianto made. Ianto had always hated looking for a flat. In London his first flat has simply been a bed share, and later had been the flat he shared with Lisa, she had chosen the flat. When he had moved back to Cardiff, he had gotten the cheapest flat he could that was close to the Hub, as most of his money had gone towards keeping Lisa alive.

"Don't worry I'll make sure that you survive the experience." Harry said.

The rest of the drive passed quite, the only sound in the car was of the radio and Ianto directions to his sister's place. Ianto's sister lived in the poorer part of the city, though the houses in the neighbourhood were old they seemed to well looked after. They pulled up into the driveway, it was an older, small two story house but it looked well maintained, and even though it was winter you could tell that someone had a lot of pride in the yard.

They got out of the car, leaving the presents inside for the moment only bringing the pies, though Ianto passed off the pie that he was holding to Jack. Ianto went up to the door and rung the bell, Jack and Harry followed behind. It only took a second before the door flung open and Ianto was enveloped in a hug by a woman. Ianto hugged her back for a moment before pulling back.

"Ianto it's so go to see you." The woman said.

"It's good to see you too Rhiannon." Ianto said, before turning to introduce everyone. "Rhiannon, these are my soulmates Jack and Harry, Jack and Harry this is my older sister Rhiannon."

"Jack Harkness, it's a pleasure to meet you." Jack said with a flirtatious grin.

"Oh stop it you." Harry said as she batted Jack with her free hand. "Harriet Peverell but please call be Harry." She said with a smile.

Rhiannon pulled away from Ianto to look over Jack and Harry. Rhiannon was a shorter plump woman with long dark down hair, dark eyes, and a rosier complexion. She was dressed in a red Christmas sweater with a light up reindeer on it and a pair of comfortable jeans.

A smile appeared on Rhiannon's face before she looked back over to Ianto.

"You really lucked on then didn't you." Rhiannon teased causing Ianto to blush. "Well come on in, we can't let the cold in. Everyone is waiting inside."

Rhiannon ushered them into the living room after they had slipped off their shoes, where her family was waiting.

"Here let me take those and put them in the kitchen." Rhiannon said as she took the pies and disappeared for a second.

There was a moment of awkwardness as they all stood in the living room without introductions to Rhiannon's husband and two children. Normally Jack would break the awkward silence, but they had all agreed to let Ianto take point. There was a lot of family history and Ianto had only just reconnected with his sister, they didn't want cause anymore tension.

The awkwardness dissipated as soon as Rhiannon walked back into the living room.

"So this is my husband and soulmate Johnny," Rhiannon introduced. "Of course you know Ianto and these are his soulmates Jack and Harry."

Johnny was a large man with a couple inches on Ianto and Jack, and was a full head taller then his wife. He had dirty blond hair and light eyes, and was the stereotypically washed out high school jock look going on complete with the polo shirt and jeans. He might have been in shape at one point but had started to go soft.

"Nice to meet you." Johnny said as he moved to shake Jack and then Harry's hands. There was a moment of tension as Rhiannon glared at Johnny as he purposely didn't greet Ianto. There was a stand off between the couple before Johnny relented grudgingly. "It's good to see you again, Ianto."

"Johnny." Ianto acknowledged but it was obvious that there was no love lost between the two of them.

"And these are my children, David is my oldest and Mica my youngest." Rhiannon introduced, trying to break the tension that had returned. "David, Mica, you remember your uncle Ianto, and these are your uncle soulmates, Uncle Jack and Aunt Harry."

David, age 10, had his father's looks with his mother's dark colouring and one day would probably be as tall and large as his father. Mica, age 5, on the other hand was a tiny thing with strait blonde hair and her mothers dark eyes, she seemed to take more after her mother.

"Hi." David greeted, giving the mandatory greeting that children gave when their parents introduced them to strangers.

Mica on the other hand just hide her face in her mother's leg.

"Mum, can I go place on my new game station?" David asked, obviously done with the adults.

"Yes, so long a you let your sister play with you as well." Rhiannon said.

There was a bit of grumbling from David before the two children ran upstairs to play. The tension returned as soon as the children were gone, and Rhiannon, ever the peace keeper, intervened again.

"Ianto why don't you help me finish getting lunch together." Rhiannon said.

"Sure." Ianto agreed, glad to have an out on interacting with Johnny.

Ianto followed Rhiannon into the kitchen, while Harry and Jack were left with Johnny. Then was a moment of silence as the significant others of the Jones sibling tried to figure out how to proceed.

"Well I'm going to go get the presents from the car and then go see if Rhiannon and Ianto need help in the kitchen." Harry said before fleeing outside.

Jack made sure that his irritation was clear over the Bond, and got a sheepish apology from Ianto, and a non-repentant 'not-it' from Harry. Jack made sure that his irritation didn't show on his face and plastered on his best smile.

"Do you want a beer or something?" Johnny asked.

"Sure, a beer is fine." Jack answered.

Johnny disappeared into the kitchen for a second before coming back with a couple of beer. He handed one to Jack before they sat down. Jack then got roped into a discussion of football, that he absolutely had no interest in but kept up the conversation for Ianto's sake. Jack knew the type of man that Johnny was, be had meet many of them in his life. They were meat heads with their hearts in the right place but more often then not were very narrow minded, quick to judge, and quick to anger. Before Jack had figured out how to blend into early Earth's closeminded society, it had been these type of men that had beaten Jack to death after he read them wrong.

"Where can I put these?" Harry asked when she came in with the bag of presents.

"By the tree is fine." Johnny answered.

Jack met Harry's eyes. "Please save me." He begged telepathically.

Harry's only response was to flood the Bond with her amusement before abandoning Jack to his fate, and disappearing in to the kitchen. When Harry entered the kitchen she saw that there wasn't much of anything to finish up for lunch. Rhiannon has just used the excuse to get Ianto alone and was grilling him without their soulmates around. Ianto was a bright red as Rhiannon interrogated him in a hushed voice. The conversation come to a halt as Harry entered the kitchen as the siblings look up at her.

While Ianto wasn't yet able to send thoughts telepathically though the Bond, he was still able to send emotions. Harry was hit with an intense burst embarrassment and pleading through the Bond. For the second time that night Harry abandoned her soul mate to the discomfort of the Davies couple. Harry sent back a feeling remorse before abandoning Ianto to his fate. While Harry never had any sibling, and she didn't count Dudley as an accurate example of one, she had spent enough time with the Weasleys to know that you didn't get in between siblings.

"I'm just going to go set the table." Harry stated, as she made her way into the dining room.

"The dishes are in the cabinet." Rhiannon called helpfully from the kitchen, a wicked smile on her face as she turned back towards the blushing Ianto.

"You really hit the jackpot with those two, Brother. They look like they walked strait out of magazine. So you still haven't told me if they are good in bed?" Rhiannon asked leaning back in towards Ianto.

"Rhiannon," Ianto gasped scandalized, he face regaining the red that it had lost when Harry had entered the kitchen. "You can't ask things like that, doesn't it violate some brother-sister sibling code."

Rhiannon rolled her eyes, "Now that you're out of the bi closet, which means that you are practically my sister now, and of course we can talk guys. And women." She tacked on after a pause.

"I'm pretty sure that it doesn't work that way. Just because I've had sex with a man doesn't mean that we should talk about it." Ianto said indignant.

"So you have had sex with them, how was it?" Rhiannon asked not fazed by Ianto's irritation.

Ianto just groaned and dropped his head to the counter.

"Look can we not talk about this now. It's Christmas and we are about to sit down for lunch." Ianto groaned in to the counter.

"So we will be talking about this." Rhiannon said cheekily, "I guess we will have to get together for tea just the two of us later."

Ianto just groaned into the counter and didn't bother to argue with her. He knew from his childhood that Rhiannon was like a dog with a bones, once she set her mind on something there was nothing that could dissuade her.

"Anyways, you're right we should sit down for lunch. Start taking stuff to the table and I'll get everyone." Rhiannon said as she walked out of the kitchen to call the kids for lunch and save Jack from more football chat.

Ianto took a deep breath, trying to control the blush on his face, before he grabbed the serving plate of turkey and taking it into the dinning room. When he entered he found Harry finishing up setting the table. Harry looked up as Ianto entered the room, and notice the plate.

"So I gather that we are about to sit down?" Harry asked.

"Yes, Rhiannon has just gone to get everyone one." Ianto said as he sat the tray down on the table.

The two of them moved to start bringing the rest of the food into the dinning room. By the time that they were done the children had arrived and were sat in their seats. Soon the rest of the adults wondered in, Rhiannon and Johnny sitting down in what was likely their usual spots leaving the triad to sit at the remaining chairs at the other end of the table.

"Now, who wants to say grace?" Rhiannon asked once everyone was seated, the weight of her look focused on the trio.

The triad looked at one another not really wanting to speak up to volunteer. Jack was an atheist, in the 51st century it had been looked down upon to be religious, as it was seen as something less evolved species did. Harry was pagan, and followed the ebbs and flows of Magic. While there were times that she prayed to gods or goddesses, it was more for what they represented then actually believing that they exist. Ianto had grown up in a strict Catholic home but had rebelled against it, now he was agnostic. While Ianto no longer believed that there was a God, with his time at Torchwood he believes that there were beings of a greater power out there in the universe.

Thankfully the triad was saved from grace by little Mica who was more than enthusiastic say grace. The little girl rambled on, thanking everything under the sun until she was cut off by Rhiannon.

"Dig in everyone." Rhiannon said once she had reined in Mica.

The first part of the meal was filled with chatter from the two children as they told stories of what they had gotten for Christmas and the new game that they had been playing. The children filled the meal with their chatter. There seemed to be an unspoken pact between the adult not to speak of anything of real substance while the children were there. It wasn't until after lunch was over and the adults had returned to the living room, and the children had retreated back upstairs with the presents that the triad had brought that the conversations really began.

"So how did you all meet?" Rhiannon asked, unable to hold herself back any longer.

Rhiannon and Johnny were sitting in one loveseat while Jack and Ianto sat on the other and Harry perched on the arm of the loveseat next to Ianto.

"At work, actually." Jack answered for them, "I met Ianto once I approved his transfer from our branch in London. Then we met Harry about 4 months later when she was recruited onto our team."

"So it was an office romance." Rhiannon said wagging her eyebrows.

"So what is it that you all do." Johnny asked as he took sip of his beer, his seventh since they had arrived and it was becoming a bit worrying.

"We do security contract work for the government." Ianto answered. It wasn't a lie, but an evasion of the truth; it was also the standard cover story for all Torchwood employees.

"So some secret squirrel shit." Johnny scoffed and was about to say something else when Rhiannon slapped him on the arm making him hold his tongue.

There was an awkward silence for a moment before Rhiannon picked the conversation back up. Rhiannon was the driving force behind this whole reunion and it was only through her shear will that it was happening. Ianto and Johnny didn't really want anything to do with each other, and Jack and Harry were only there for Ianto.

"Well are the three of you going to get married?" Rhiannon asked.

"You do realise that polygamy is still illegal, even for soulmates." Ianto dead paned.

"I know that silly, but you could still have a commitment ceremony or something." Rhiannon said, rolled her eyes at her brother.

"We actually did something private between the three of us on the 21st." Ianto admitted internally flinching at the out burst to come.

"Ianto Jones, did you go elope." Rhiannon exclaimed angrily.

"It was a very private ceremony." Harry interjected, "I am pagan and we did a private handfasting ceremony. I don't think that you would have been comfortable with it seeing at it was done skyclad."

Rhiannon blushed as she realised that her baby brother had gotten married naked, while Johnny just looked at them all in confusion.

"We were naked." Jack enlightened Johnny, enjoying the thrown look on Johnny's face.

However, Jack's perverse enjoyment was short lived, as Johnny, emboldened alcohol, blustered up then opened his mouth.

"I always knew that there was something wrong with you." Johnny spat towards Ianto. "So not only are you a cock sucking fag, but you also became some deviant devil worshiper."

"Johnny!" Rhiannon exclaimed it horror at what was coming out her husband's mouth.

Jack and Harry, were indignant, and puffed up in defence of Ianto, however Ianto just went blank faced as he fell back into old habits. Ianto had been expecting this, especially with amount that Johnny had been drinking. Johnny had never liked him and had always let him know it, however this was the first time that Johnny had showed this behavior in front of Rhiannon. When Ianto had come to the conclusion that Johnny had been jealous of the close relationship that the siblings had shared in his youth.

Rhiannon and Johnny had met when she was 17 and he was 21. At the time Ianto had only been 13 and it had only been 6 months since their mother had died and their father was spiralling downwards into depression and alcohol. Ianto had been clinging hard to his older sister and Johnny had resented the hell out of him. It had only taken 3 months after their meeting for Rhiannon to become pregnant and move in with Johnny. After that Ianto had rarely seen his sister even though she did try to be there for him, she had a baby to think about and Johnny monopolised a lot of her time, purposely trying to keep Ianto from Rhiannon. When Ianto was 17 and their father had died, Johnny has made it clear that there was no place for Ianto with them. That was the reason that he ran away to London, he had never told his sister, not wanting her to have to chose a side between her soulmate and her brother. If Ianto was honest with himself he knew that if Rhiannon had to chose between the two of them, he would lose.

"You know your dad was right about you. He told me that there was something wrong with you, and that it was because of you that your mum died, you sick queer." Johnny continued on.

"Johnny!" Rhiannon exclaimed again as she tried to grab his arm to stop him, however he just shook her off.

It alarmed both Harry and Jack when Ianto's emotions when flat with in the Bond after Johnny had brought up his father. Both were alarmed at the implications as they felt him mentally curl up as he started to retreat into his mind.

"That's enough." Jack ordered as he stood; there was a dangerous tone to his voice.

Both Johnny and Rhiannon froze as their hindbrain kicked in and realised that there was something dangerous in their living room. Once Jack was sure that Johnny was sufficiently cowed he turned back towards his soulmates. Ianto had a thousand-yard stair and emotionally flat in their bond, and Harry had a carefully blank face but the bond told him that she was as murderous as himself.

"Harry." Jack ordered, not needing to say more.

Harry help Ianto up and led him out of the house. Rhiannon had moved to say something to stop them, but a look from Jack stopped her in her tracks. Once the two were safely out of the house, Jack turned back towards the Davies.

"If Ianto wants to contact you again, we will not stop him, however we will not allow him to be abused like this again. Don't contact him again unless he reaches out first, if you do I'll make sure to take you to court and I guarantee that you will not win." Jack stated, his voice menacing.

With that Jack left the house to join his soulmates in the car, leaving the Davies speechless in their living room.
