AN:WE ARE BACK! Sorry for the long pause but life came and hit us!
Chapter 22
Caroline took a breath and nodded.
"My dad bought me a book on fairytales and once I showed it to your sister...she said that the drawings were of your brother Elijah and Elena...we weren't sure so we took the book to Bonnie's grandmother and she told us that the stories were all real-they were what had happened." She looked at Rebekah. "You want to add the rest?"
"Mother and Father are behind this Nik," Rebekah said still worried, "they wanted to keep Elijah and Elena apart even though before this spell they knew that they were together and had a son." She flipped the book to the illustrations of Elijah, Elena and Jeremy. "That's not all..." She passed Klaus the book so he could see for himself.
"That's...me." He whispered before flipping through more. "Bonnie and Kol-you and Stefan!" He looked at her. "Do we know why?"
"Not yet." She whispered. "Part of it was that they wanted Kol to be without humanity and for some reason they wanted Elena and Elijah apart."
"I don't have a child running around do I?" Klaus asked.
"No-it would have been in here and so far...it's only Elena and Elijah who have a child and that child is Jeremy." Rebekah said.
"So basically mother and father decided to screw with magic and make our lives that much more miserable?" Klaus grumbled out. "Fantastic. I feel murderous now. How do we break this damnable bloody curse or spell?"
"True loves kiss or killing the witch with her own magic." Caroline supplied.
"Oh I like idea number two," Klaus growled.
"Niklaus," Elijah called him down calmly.
"They took our memories away from us! They took you away from your family! They're trying to make Kol into something he's not!" He raged.
"What about Henrik?" The noble one asked and he fell silent. What would happen to Henrik?
"He could stay with us," Elena volunteered softly.
He looked at her and she nodded. "He's your brother 'Lijah. He's family to me and to Jeremy. Besides-don't you think that he deserves to know about his nephew?"
Elijah sighed and nodded, pulling her closer to his body before kissing her on the top of her head.
"Once all the memories come back, that will happen." He promised her.
"So what is your story?" Klaus looked to Kol. "You're not going to give them the satisfaction of turning you into a monster are you? That's not you."
"I'm going to be staying here. Like Elijah and Bekah are." He told him. "I got all new everything and have settled into a room here."
"The same room as the little witch?" Klaus smirked.
"He sleeps on the floor though." Bonnie said looking at them. "As much as I like Kol...I'm not ready to share all of me yet and he respects that."
Elijah grinned at his little brother before pulling Elena so that she was on his lap.
"We all know how far you two have gone." Kol waggled his eyebrows at the two.
Elijah and Elena shrugged.
"He's my perfect match." She said before dropping a kiss onto her husband's lips. "Always and forever."
Bonnie looked at Kol and smiled.
"Always and forever," they all added.
"Now we should plan." Klaus said as he leaned back. "Starting with how we get them to confess their sins."
"It's going to be hard." Elena murmured.
"They scared me," Caroline said.
Klaus nodded.
"We need to find a way to stop them otherwise this town will end up as a war torn with two main sides-ours and theirs. We need to keep this damnable town standing so no wars." Kol muttered.
"Whatever you need," Bonnie offered, "now that Kol and I share magic we're even stronger."
Elijah looked at the clock and nodded.
"How about we plan this later in the morning?" He suggested. "That way, we can sleep in as it is Saturday."
Elena groaned.
"You all can sleep in but I have to wake up before Jeremy does so I can make his breakfast." Elena told them as she made her way up the stairs to bed, having no idea that Elijah followed behind her.
"Let her sleep in Elijah. Bonnie and I will get Jeremy breakfast," Kol said.
"I'll get breakfast," Klaus said. "All of you sleep in."
Elijah nodded but he couldn't sleep so he sat at the table, a pen and paper in hand, he began trying to find ways of protecting his wife and son as well as the rest of his family-excluding his parents and Finn.
That night-or actually, morning as it was blaring 2 AM on the alarm clock-was the longest one of his life and he really needed to sleep.
"I knew there was a reason I couldn't sleep," Elena said as she joined him. She rubbed his back as she tried to soothe him. "Come back to bed with me and tell me what I can do to help."
Elijah smiled and kissed her.
"If I knew what to do, I'd have already informed you of the plan." He whispered. "I'm just trying to find ways of protecting you and Jeremy from everyone who means harm."
"Well I think you're on the right track already surrounding us by your family. I know Kol and Bekah would protect Jeremy and I with their lives," Elena offered. "We're going to sort this out - all of us together."
"I hope that you're right." He sighed as he followed her back to bed and slept with her in his arms. "Goodnight my lovely. Sweet dreams."
"Good night my prince," Elena said as she cuddled in.
He smiled and he fell asleep with her in his arms with a smile on his face.
