Chapter 22

The rest of the day passed quickly for Harry, after a quick lunch that was brought up Harry continued familiarising himself with the people he may come across at that nights card game. Only a few hours later information of Sophia's cover identity was sent through, Karen Norton was a business owner from Oxford who he met last year and recently became engaged to. His suit was cleaned and pressed as requested and was ready to go for later as well as the car service being notified of his need for a car that night.

Later in the afternoon a phone call from Rivka Demir informed him that the merchandise had been delivered and the funds transferred and as such the transaction was complete, "Mr Conway, General Murat asked me to extended his welcome to the Academy for lunch whenever you next find yourself in Turkey."

"I would be honoured to do so, please pass on my thanks and tell General Murat that I look forward to doing business with him again." Harry said, before saying his goodbyes and hanging up, he quickly grabbed his room key and headed down to the restaurant. Upon arriving he ordered Kuzu Tandir – a slow cooked lamb joint, sliced and served with rice – and began eating as the rest of the dinner crowd came down from the above rooms.

Eating quickly, he gave an expectant nod to the two guards and made his way back to his room and upon entering made his way straight out to the balcony.

It was these moments that Harry truly loved most about deep cover work, the quiet moments in the far-reaching corners of the world. Places he never thought he would see that have now become so familiar and things he never thought he would experience he now knows so well. He loved moments like this.

It was different now though; he still enjoyed these missions. The focus, the skill of out manoeuvring someone, at beating them at there own game. Now however it was contrasted to other times in his life. The moment he and Sophia kissed, when the back and forth feeling of their relationship had resolved into a resounding yes.

Moments with his family, at dinners or playing around on the wide expanse of land that his childhood home had sat on, fishing quietly with his dad and shooting on the archery range with his younger siblings. An experience he had yet to have with Nate, one he hoped he could rectify in the future. Possibly the biggest regret of his however, was the daunting disconnect between himself and his father. Previously so close that he often thought they could have been brothers if he had been older. Could he ever leave this behind? Live a simpler life back in America? Would Soph even come with him or would she want to stay here?

A quick glance at his watch had him heading back inside to begin getting ready, getting in the shower once more Harry quickly rinsed of. Exiting the bathroom and making his way over to the suit bag by the closest, Harry got his first look at the suit M had chosen for him. The suit itself was light grey, made of a relatively light material to accommodate for the Turkish humidity. The shirt to accompany it was jet black, with slight silver trim on the sleeves and buttons. It was a gorgeous suit and he would be sure to thank M for her excellent taste in mens apparel.

Pausing for a minuet he grabbed his phone he sent a quick message to Rowan updating him on the happenings of the day and passing on the name of the club he would be at for the card game tonight before dressing in his suit. Taking a moment to check his appearance in the mirror and ensure that his hair was suitably tamed – as much as it could be considering his hair had always been anti-gravity before heading downstairs to the car awaiting him.

MI6 HQ, London

The text came through at the expected time and Rowan was glad to see that the operation was still running smoothly, he didn't like missions where he wasn't able to have Harry's back and even though Sophia was going to be joining him, he still didn't want Harry to get hurt.

Looking up he saw one of the American agents approaching him, smiling he put his phone away and turned to the tech awaiting his orders "Contact confirmed. The club is called 'The Lookout', I want eyes on it and in it. Access all surveillance available and get me a packet on notable patrons now."

Returning his attention to the agent, he now saw it was the Captain, was waiting patiently at the edge of the room. Approaching the him, Rowan smiled "Captain, how's the team?"

"Getting fidgety, there not used to sitting on the side-lines waiting for orders." Steve said with a grimace remembering the near destruction Tony and Bruce had nearly caused last night after Clint had returned home.

"Yes, that would certainly account for the small explosive tremor we detected from the lower levels early this morning." Rowan shook his head; this team was certain not used to or pleased with waiting for orders from others but that often was an issue with independent teams. "Rest assured that when we need to make a move to support Harry, your team will be the first to know about it."

"On the subject of Harry, have you got any updates for us on his progress?"

"He's attending a poker game tonight and Harry has received the requisite merchandise to get him an in thanks to Starks impressive resources." Rowan said, Steve nodded his head as he listened intently, "Sophia is on her way out to join him, apparently Baclovitch is bringing him in through social events, that's always easier with a partner. He'll text us updates as he continues, though I expect we won't hear from him again until tomorrow morning when he confirms Sophia's arrival."

"Brilliant, thank you." Steve nodded his head in thanks and turned to walk back to the rooms that the Avengers had congregated.

Walking in the others looked at him expectantly waiting for him to relay the information he had been sent to discover. Sitting himself down in one of the armchairs he brought the team up to speed with the operation.

"What I don't understand is why Clint really left."

The team turned in shock to look at Bruce, "What? We all know how protective he is when it comes to his family, with Harry it's even worse. We've already seen that." The team nodded, remembering Clint's outburst in front of Harry's superior, "And seriously, he gets a call and simply walks back in and says that he's heading back to the States for a bit, yeah okay all the right reasons where there but there was definitely something off about it."

Natasha looked at him thoughtfully, "You or the Other Guy?"

"To be honest the other guy hasn't' been to happy since just after we got here but then again, this place is a bunker filled with people, he's not going to be comfortable. Mainly though it's me, I know instincts and Clint's is to protect it always has been."

Tony nods, "Okay then what we gonna do about it then?" A thoughtful silence fell over the room.

The Lookout, Istanbul

The sound of the door clicking open brought Harry back from his thoughts, exiting the car he took note of the flashing lights, the feeling of the base beat through the concrete, the never-ending queues of club goers waiting to get in. Tight shirts and short skirts, this was definitely one of the more American clubs in the city. Given the long ques to get in it was obviously still a popular club though and, by the fact the music could be heard outside, a loud one too. Exhaling, he ran a hand over the front of his suit, brushing off the non-existent lint and readjusting his cuffs before walking past said long queues with a brief nod to the bouncers, Harry entered the club.
