Barry Allen and Kara Danvers sat in the corner of the Mckinley High School gymnasium, where the Sadies Hawkins dance was in progress. January 24th, 2013. That was the date. The day before the Catastrophe on Infinite Multiverses would take place. Evig had already destroyed the entire Megaverse at this point, leaving only the Megniverse in her path.
The Starfleet fleet, IF fleet, four Lantern armies, Freeze Doctor fleet, and the Little Doctor fleet were all in place around the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies, creating a barrier possibly capable of holding back Evig's gaseous form. He also had a backup plan. The antimatter universe. Seeing as the Temporal Zone no longer existed in the Megniverse, the antimatter universe was the only place in which the heroes could fall back in a case of failure.
Barry Allen had doubt, just like he had had doubt in the first ever Crisis, when he knew he would die. Barry knew who would die, and who would make the great sacrifice, but he knew he had to keep the balance, like Mar Novu had said all those years ago. Now he was the Monitor. The 'God', or the 'Seer', and he didn't like it. He continuously had to watch them die. Over and over.
What he needed now was a Plan C. All nineteen thought processes in which he had were continuously working on trying to find a source powerful enough to crush Evig. The planetary defense ring, only much much bigger. He couldn't make it the size of two galaxies, or it would be ripped to shreds, but he could make it around one. He would have to move Krypton, as well as the fleets, back to the Milky Way.
He silently levitated through the wall and out of the building, before immediately teleporting just outside of the galaxy, where he was met with the Starfleet and IF fleets, as well as the Lanterns. He waved his hand, watching as two defense rings suddenly appeared around the galaxy, creating a sphere as they did so. "Everyone, these rings should act as a last line of defense if things get to hectic. If it looks like your army or fleet is going to fail, fall back behind the ring!"
"Got it Admiral Allen," Ender and Kirk said at the exact same time. Barry grinned excitedly, before teleporting back into the auditorium next to Kara. "Everything ok?" she asked.
"Yeah, just had an idea," Barry said, his hand resting on her knee as Unique, Tina, Brittany, and Sugar launched into a performance of 'Locked Out of Heaven' on stage. "You know...if we fail tomorrow, I'm glad you're here…"
"Come on Barry," Kara sighed. "You know we're gonna win. We always do. Crisis...Zero Hour...Infinite Crisis,"
"What about Central City? We didn't win that one. You died, and I restarted the universe," Barry said sadly. "We can't win everything Kara, and we have to be prepared for failure...I know I am,"
"But this was your plan," Kara stated.
"And there is a possibility it will fail. There are consequences to all things, and all things must play through till the end. Time will decide the outcome of this catastrophe, just as it did with the Crisis all of those years ago. When we…" Barry trailed off, his fists clenching in anger. "We need to be ready to lose...that's why I opened the antimatter universe,"
"WHAT?!" Kara exclaimed, receiving several looks from the students dancing. Barry held up his arms defensively. "Kara, the tunnels Nash opened haven't been created yet, I can just lock up the Anti-Monitor and his cannon, and when Nash shows up, Crisis will play out,"
"Why do you need it?" Kara asked.
"It's Plan D. Plan A, defeat Evig before she reaches the galaxy. Plan B is to defeat her before she reaches the Sol System. Plan C, defeat her before she reaches Yorktown. Plan D, fall back to the antimatter universe, and pull a Crisis on her sorry ass," said Barry.
"Four plans?" Kara asked.
"I have more than that, but those are the basics," Barry said. "You should know by now babe that we need to prepare for any possible enemy, crisis, or catastrophic event,"
"I know that Barry, but this is the Anti-Monitor we're talking about. I wouldn't be surprised if he knows about the last Crisis, and is planning against it," Kara said.
"No. No. You, myself, and Oliver are the only three that know the details of the crisis. There is absolutely no way that the Anti-Monitor can know about Crisis. What we need right now is to relax. With the catastrophe a mere seventeen hours away, we need to save our energy," said Barry. "So, Kara Danvers, Marley Rose, Kara Zoe-El...would you like to dance?"
"Barry Allen, Blitzfrieden, The uh...Flash," She whispered, a grin plastered on her face. "I would love to dance," she accepted Barry's hand, and the two made their way onto the dance floor.
GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA; WIGGIN HOME
Peter Wiggin sat in his bed at home, carelessly scrolling through the nets while his parents were away. Without Valentine Earth-bound, his life as Locke and Peter had become far less exciting. Without Demosthenes roaming the nets, his role as Locke was becoming far less meaningful, and it was all because of that 'Admiral Allen'. Peter hated him, probably more than he had hated Ender all those years ago.
"You can kill him you know," Peter immediately jumped out of bed, grabbing the gun he hid in the bottom drawer of his shelf, before pointing it at the voice. Staring down the barrel of his gun was a hooded figure, in which their face was indescribable. "You and I both hate Barry Allen, and we can both kill him. I have the method, and you have the anger,"
"Who the hell are you? And why shouldn't I just put this bullet through your head?" Peter asked, pushing the figure back before grabbing the other gun he kept behind his TV. He aimed one at the figures head, and the other at their heart. The figure sighed, pulling down his hood to reveal an older man, full with grey beard and wrinkles. "Your Harrison Wells, the guy making that particle accelerator in Missouri, but you're -"
"Older? Yes. I am. And I'm not Harrison Wells, at least not this universes Harrison Wells. My name...is H.R Wells. Nineteen years ago, I sacrificed myself to save Barry Allen's wife, Iris West-Allen. I took a sword through the lung for them! And how do they repay me? They visit my funeral, with ANOTHER Wells! I was sent to Limbo, a place where all things go after they die, but before they're sent to Heaven. Highfather got me out, and gave me great power. However...my time in Limbo aged me beyond immortality,"
"So...why do you need me?" Peter asked.
"I need your body. I won't take it, but I will be there in your mind, sort of like a...voice. A voice that will give you helpful tips and strategies," Wells said. "So...what do ya say?" He held out his hand his eyes settling on Peter's hand.
"Well...I guess it would be a good idea to have some background against Allen," Peter said, cautiously grabbing H.R's hand, before jerking back in surprise. Peter watched in a mix of amazement and horror as H.R. Wells' essence rushed into his body before coming to a stop, leaving behind a black cloak. Peter's eyes shifted from hazel to blue, his hair turning from curly blonde to wavy black.
Peter straightened up, his face twisting in an evil grin as he looked in the mirror. "Sorry I lied to you Pete, but I really needed a young body," Peter-Wells said. "I've been manipulating this universe for a long time, and now I can finally kill B.A and his wretched Guardians of the Megniverse. B.A...prepare to meet your...Toymaker," Wells broke into laughter, before suddenly disappearing out of sight.
HOUSE OF HEROES; JANUARY 25TH, 2013; 01:53AM
Barry Allen sped through the speed lab located in the House of Heroes at the speed of light. Seeing as the watchtower was the size of the moon, the heroes had ample room to repair, expand, and transform a lot of the Monitor home. He ran, and ran, and ran. That's all he did nowadays, with the catastrophe hours away. He really just needed to blow off steam, his blue lightning electrifying the room.
"Gideon, activate log," Barry murmured as the cosmic treadmill rumbled beneath him. "Kara, myself, Finn, Unique, Ryder, Jake, and Kitty enjoyed the dance last night. The mix of winter decorations as well as the music...it made all of it worth -" Barry was interrupted, forcing him to come to a stop before he sighed. This was going to be tough.
"Admiral Allen to all units. Peter Wiggin is compromised," He inhaled a deep breath, and said. "Guardians… Starfleet...International Fleet...Lanterns...all other units...the Catastrophe on Infinite Multiverses has begun,"
