DWA: Hey! I'm back! So what killed me before hand was the back to back E4 Battles soooo, I'm not gonna write those. Allows more story and I'll enjoy writing a bit more. Still gonna do the champion. Cause duh. The reason I'm back is mainly Sword and Shields release has me wanna write this. In the meantime, FTDT may be on hold. Chapter 29: Vs The Wishmaker

Lily walked out of the stadium, sighing. Her final match had just ended, and now, she had the opportunity to spend the day to rest and prepare for her Championship match the next day. Not to mention Mikes Question running through her head.

Will you fight?

"Jeez what a thing to ask a kid…" She muttered. She sighed and started walking, Zack and Midnight behind her.

[If you don't want to fight, say no.] Midnight said.

"It's not that easy. Even if I don't wanna…I doubt I can just stay away." She said. "They'll just come after me." She said. She looked over to a big monitor as it showed highlights of her defeating Chryssi and Roland.

"Lily Zenex managed to beat the Elite Four, and has agreed to face the Champion. Later tonight we will see who is truly the strongest in all of Johto!" The man said and they began to give their rundown on Lily. She sighed and kept moving. She suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked over to see Robin. "Oh hey!" She said smiling.

"How's it going future champ?" He asked.

"That, is far to hopeful. I have no idea how Sephi fights." Lily said.

"Kinda like you, smart yet determined. She won't hand over that Championship spot easy." He said.

"Yeah no kidding. You must have seen her team. Tips?" She asked.

"Eh, one. Her most powerful isn't what it seems. Beyond that, I'm hush hush." He said smiling.

"Ah you're no fun!" She said.

"So, hate to ask but what's your answer to that guy?" He asked.

"Ah…has to be yes. I don't see them leaving me alone." She said looking away.

"Well, I can't fight but I'll support ya Lily. Dunno how but, I'll try." He said.

"No. I don't want you involved. I thank you for sticking with me this long but, this isn't your fight. So, just stay away, for your sake." She said with a sad smile. Robin stared at her for a good while

"…Yeah I'll do as I please nerd." He said as he kept walking. Lily blinked.

"Eh?" She said and turned to him. "W-Wait you can't just, no!" She said and ran after him. "Robin!"

Off in the distance, Mike watched over with a frown.

"Annoyed?" Darkrai asked as he rose out of Mike's shadow.

"Of course I am. Alex attacked Lily, for being a Zenex." He said. "Now she's part of this."

"You know that how?" Darkrai said.

"Call it instinct. I didn't want this to happen." He said.

"Sometimes our actions have unforeseen consequences. Of all people, I was sure you understood that the most." He said.

"Still, I stayed away from Lily for a reason." He said sighing.

"Nothing to be done. We should make sure ES isn't in the area." Darkrai said as he flew off.

"…It'd take my mind off it all." He said and teleported away.

Lily and the rest were in the hotel lobby, getting back from a rather nice dinner, Mike's treat.

"You really didn't need to do that." Robin said.

"Please please, it's the least I could do. Besides I can still feel the daggers from Stanley." He said looking back at Lily's older brother.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He said shrugging.

"Nice try dude." Rina said patting his back. "We're gonna bounce, good luck Lily, don't stress too much ya hear?" She said and walked off, the rest following and waving to Lily. She waved happily till they weren't looking and slowly let down her façade. She wasn't sad, just, nerves as well as worry.

Robin would be by her every step, he said so himself. She had no idea why he'd do that. Yet that's what he said. She sighed and went up to her room, and fell into her bed. Zack and Midnight had been waiting.

[All's well?] Midnight asked.

"Just a million worries zipping around. I just wanna sleep for my match." She said, and even fully clothed, she found herself drifting off to sleep much faster than expected.

Lily's sleep was dreamless, she awoke without an issue as she sat up and stretched.

"Arceus I slept wrong, then again I just, fell on the bed and passed out." She said. She looked at her sleeping Pokémon and smiled as she went out to the balcony, having a great view of the surrounding area.

"Today's the day. Win or lose, this is gonna be amazing." She said. Lily did her best to quickly get ready. Breakfast, shower, clothes etc. She was ready to go two hours before she needed to be.

"Why am I like this?" She muttered as Zack and Midnight woke up.

[Why are you like what?] Midnight asked stretching.

"I have two hours to wait yet I'm ready to go and battle right now." She said.

[Over prepared.] Zack said.

"Yeah, thanks." She said sighing. "I'm just gonna think on what I'm gonna do." She said.

So, she ran over various straggles in her head, though it was more what to do if Sephi had x, y, or z. thankfully, it advanced time fast enough to her that it was time to go, so, she and her team ran off for the stadium, seeing people already line up to get in. She went inside past the lines and to her own place, and waited. Then the announcer finally started talking.

"Ladies and Gentleman of Johto! Welcome to the last event of the Silver Conference! Lily Zenex has fought hard to get where she is now! About to face our Champion! We all have our own hopes on who wins, and so we wish both sides the best! Now, Lily Zenex, take the stage!" He shouted. Lily nodded and ran out, her Pokémon sprinting ahead. The crowd cheered and shouted as she walked to her box.

"And now, our Champion! A Trainer that's said to have met Ho-Oh, was unstoppable during her Conference, and that no Elite Four member has dared to challenge!" He shouted.

"Oh that's boosting my confidence…" Lily muttered.

"Let's welcome! Seeeeeephiiiiiii!" He shouted. There was an explosion of smoke at her entrance, and Sephi simply walked out. Her eyes were closed, but she had a smile. Her simple outfit defied the stories that went with her. A white T-shirt, cargo pants, and a tan cloak. She reached her box and stopped as she opened her eyes. The crowd had exploded as she'd walked out. Lily swore that her cloak had a rainbow sheen to it.

"Lily Zenex! A Champion is more than the best trainer in a region! A Champion is what others strive for. An Idol to admire. Someone that can protect their land!" She said and grabbed a poke ball from her belt. Lily hardened her stare.

"I protect Johto, my desire was peace for the land, and I have done my very best to make it true. So, let me see your conviction, can it trump mine!?" She shouted.

"The heck is she talking about. Ah whatever, I'm ready to prove my strength!" Lily cried out.

The rules are as such. Neither trainer may switch out till the end of a current battle, or a move causes, or allows it. The battle is one on one, six Pokémon, till ones side has lost all Pokémon." The announcer said

"Both Trainers, choose a Pokémon now, then begin!" The ref shouted.

"Phantoma! Fight by my side!" Lily shouted as she tossed her Ball.

"Typhlosion!" Sephi shouted and the two Pokémon appeared. Typhlosions flames erupted and it roared.

It had definitely seen many battles.

"And, begin!" The ref shouted.

"Phantoma-"

"Flamethrower!" Sephi shouted and Typhlosion got on all fours and let out a large stream of fire that slammed into Phantoma, pushing her back. Phantoma then took into the skies.

"Shadow Ball!" Lily called. Phantoma charged two Shadow Balls in either hand and threw them both, Typhlosion jumped back, letting the force of the attack hitting carry it further.

"Shadow Claw." Sephi said. Typhlosion shot forward, ethereal energy forming a claw around its own, allowing it to dig into the ground more and let it jump up and slam the claw into Phantoma forcing her down to the ground. Typhlosion started falling for another swipe.

"Sludge Bomb!" Lily cried out, and Phantoma opened her mouth and pelted Typhlosion with explosive sludge, sending it back. It landed, hard on the ground, but got up, growling as Phantoma floated up. Lily gritted her teeth, Sephi's Typlosion was strong and ruthless, as well as fast. Dangerous combination, and then there was Sephi.

She didn't look like she was having fun. She didn't seem to be having a bad time. Her face was a stoic glare.

It was, unnerving.

Mike and his group all watched from the stands, near the front.

"Hey, is Sephi, always like that?" Robin asked. "Cause I saw one of her matches, she was having fun." Mike sighed.

"Well, that's hard to explain really. All I can say is, Sephi considers her job as Champion as a way to police the region. If she loses that, she loses the ability to keep her people safe. Lily might be the first Challenger in a while she feels threatened by." Mike said.

"So, everyone she's face till now…" Rina said.

"Weren't gonna win from the start." Robin finished.

"Exactly." Mike said.

"Shadow Ball!" Lily shouted. Phantoma fired several balls of ethereal energy, impacting Typhlosion.

"Lava Plume!" Sephi shouted and Typhlosion seemed to struggle on all fours before roaring and letting out an explosion of fire and some, then a stream of lava slamming into Phantoma, blasting her back.

"Hypnosis!" Lily shouted and Phantoma let out hypnotic waves that lulled Typhlosion to sleep, making it fall to the ground.

"Dream Eater! Lily shouted and Phantoma's eyes glowed and she sent out a phantasmal form of herself that passed through Typhlosion. Its eyes shot open as it roared in pain. Phantoma healed from the attack, but still seemed pretty beaten up.

"Enough! I didn't wanna end this that quickly…" She said.

"Wait, what?" Lily muttered.

"Burn Up!" Sephi shouted. Typhlosion spun around and took a deep breath as its fire grew to a massive size and its stomach started to glow. It let out an almost painful roar as an extremely large blast of fire left its mouth. Phantoma was engulfed by it before she could react, and the attack exploded, phantom falling out of the smoke and onto the ground. The fire on Typhlosions back went out as it panted.

"Phantoma is unable to battle! Lily, your next Pokémon!" The ref said.

"B-Burn up? Okay, I have to play this smart…" She said as she pulled out another ball.

"Lucy! Fight by my side!" She shouted. The Lanturn appeared, hovering just above the ground.

"I see, Typhlosion, let's wear it out." She said. Typhlosion grunted in agreement, but did not ignite its back flame.

"Hydro Pump!" She shouted and Lucy shot a large volume of water at Typhlosion, who took the hit and was pushed back, but didn't seem as bothered by the hit as it should have.

"Flamethrower!" Sephi shouted, and Typhlosion let out a stream of fire that blasted into Lucy, who took it easily.

"Charge, then, Thunderbolt!" She shouted. Lucy charged up electric energy in her bulbs, then fired a vicious Thunderbolt, blasting Typhlosion as it roared in pain, and then fell unconscious. Sephi recalled him before the ref could announce the victory.

"T-typhlosion is unable to battle, Champion, please choose your next Pokémon." The referee said

"Burn up is a move very few Fire Types can learn, it's such a powerful move it causes them to lose their fire typing. Typhlosion was at its limit fast after that. So, as for the next…" She muttered. She pulled out a Net Ball, and threw it.

"Heracross!" She shouted, and the Bug/Fighting type appeared, looking ready to fight.

"Begin!" The ref shouted.

"Thunderbolt!" Lily shouted and Lucy fired a bolt of electricity at the bug, who opened its shell to reveal its wings and took off, causing the attack to miss.

"Scald!" Lily shouted and Lucy 'swam' along the air and fired a stream of burning hot water, that slammed into the flying Heracross.

"Heracross, Megahorn!" Sephi shouted. Heracross' horn glowed a light green and it charged down at Lucy.

"Lucy, get outta the way!" Lily shouted, but it came too late as Heracross slammed into Lucy's side, throwing her back.

"Now, Swords Dance!" Sephi called. Heracross flexed its arms as swords of energy appeared around it, spun, then pointed inwards, a swirl of energy forming around it.

"That's, so not good…" Lily said. "Well here's a surprise for ya! Dazzling Gleam!" Lily shouted and Lanturn charged up a pink light in its frontal ball, and fired it as a pulse. It slammed into Heracross and threw it back, causing in to snarl at Lucy.

"A Fairy type move huh? Close Combat!" Sephi shouted. Heracross shot forward and started pummeling Lucy, mostly with its claws, utilizing its horn as a blunt weapon at times, finishing with a sharp right hook. The last hit sent Lucy sprawling, and she had trouble getting up.

"Scald!" Lily shouted and Lucy fired a blast of water that hit Heracross, causing it to take steps back as it was pelted by scorching hot water. When the assault ended, it was engulfed in flames for a second.

"Shit…" Sephi said.;

"Got it! Lucy! Thunderbolt!" Lily shouted and Lucy fired a blast of lightning that hit Heracross.

"Megahorn!" Heracross' horn lit up light green as it shot at Lucy, who barely managed to evade the powerful attack.

"Dazzling Gleam!" Lily shouted, and Lucy fired a wave of light out, that slammed into Heracross, causing it to skid along the dirt.

"U-Turn!" Heracross stood and shot forward and slammed into the side of Lucy's head with its horn, and was recalled to its poke ball. Lucy slammed into the ground and didn't move after wards.

"Lucy…" Lily said.

"Lanturn is unable to battle! Lily, choose your next Pokémon!" The ref said. "Same to you Champion Sephi."

"Well, that's one danger out of the way." Sephi said as she tossed her poke ball. "Cloyster!" She shouted. The Pokémon appeared, opening its shell to reveal its grinning face.

"No! Lucy woulda been perfect…" Lily muttered. "Oh well! I still have Ordis!" She shouted and from her Holo Caster the Porygon-Z appeared.

"Enemy analyzed! Increasing Special attack!" Ordis said.

"I see." Sephi said. "Shell Smash!" She shouted. Cloyster glowed white, and a shattering sound was heard as the glow broke off it and it was glowing red, a blue aura appearing, then a red after it.

"Oh no you don't! Lock On!" Lily shouted. Ordis' eyes turned into a target as it started to make the calculations for the next move.

"Smart Strike." Sephi said. Cloyster shot forward, horn glowing a metallic silver before slamming into Ordis, throwing the Pokémon back.

"Now! Zap Cannon!" She shouted. Ordis corrected itself and charged up an electric orb, and fired.

"Protect!" Sephi shouted as Closter withdrew into its shell, and its body was protected by a shining green glow. Zap Cannon hit and exploded, but left Cloyster unharmed. "Shell Smash!" Cloyster did as it did before, lowering its defenses, but raising speed and attack stats.

"Icicle Crash!" Cloyster blew out a cold wind above Ordis. Icicles started to form above him.

"Tri-Attack!" Ordis charged, fire, ice, and electricity and fired them all together, the attack slamming into Cloyster as it completed Icicle crash, icicles raining down and doing heavy damage to Ordis due to Cloysters stat changes. "Signal Beam!" Lily cried out, and Ordis charged up the attack and fired a red and blue beam that slammed into Cloyster, pushing it back. Both Pokémon had only taken a couple attacks, but both looked heavily damaged due to the stat changes Closyter had made.

"Liquidation!" Sephi shouted and Cloyster made a spear of water from its main horn and charged forward with tremendous speed.

"Zap Cannon!" Lily shouted, and Ordis charged up a ball of electricity, and threw it when Cloyster was close. The explosion happened right in front of Ordis, and covered the two in smoke. Cloyster came flying out of the smoke and landed on the ground hard. The ref ran over and held up his hand. "Cloyster is unable to battle!" He shouted. Sephi recalled her Pokémon as Ordis was still standing after the smoke cleared.

"Heracross!" Sephi shouted and the injured Pokémon appeared, still raring to fight.

"Begin!" The ref said.

"Let's make it count! Close Combat!" Sephi shouted. Heracross shot forward at Ordis.

"Tri Attack!" Lily called out. Ordis charged the three elements for the attack and fired them, the attack slamming into Heracross and exploding. Heracross rushed through the smoke and started punching, kicking, and using its horn to beat Ordis.

"Now! Zap Cannon!" Ordis glared as it charged the attack and threw it right into the face of Heracross, the explosion sending it flying. It landed hard, and was unmoving.

"Heracross is unable to battle, Champion, please use you're next Pokémon!" The ref shouted. Sephi recalled her Pokémon and nodded.

"Steelix! We'll protect our Land!" She shouted and the massive Iron Snake Pokémon appeared with a loud roar.

"Shit…" Lily said. "Ordis, I'm keeping you in!" She said.

"Understood, I'll do everything I can to soften it up!" He replied

"Begin!"

"Tri Attack!" Lily shouted. Ordis charged up the three elements and fired, the blasts hitting Steelix's hard shell and exploding.

"Iron Tail!" Sephi shouted. Steelix's tail tip gained a metallic sheen as it swung it, slamming into Ordis and throwing it aside, sending him sprawling to the ground. Ordis slowly got up, looking battered from its previous fight. "Iron Head!" She shouted. Steelix's head now gained a metallic sheen as it rushed in and slammed into Ordis, crushing him under its weight. Steelix lifted its head to show a defeated Ordis, whom was called back to the Holo Caster.

"Okay…Tera! Fight by my side!" She shouted as her Aerodactyl appeared, screeching into the air.

"Aerodactyl huh?" Sephi said with a bit of a smile. "In that case, Iron Head!" Steelix's head gained a metallic sheen as it lunged forward.

"Meet it with your own!" Lily shouted. Tera's head gained the same metallic sheen and the two met head to head. While Steelix didn't have the attacking power of an Aerodactyl, it did have the defense to deflect the damage as the two came away from the attack relatively unharmed. "Now Fire Fang!" Tera's mouth became engulfed in flames as it flew and but down on Steelix's neck.

"Body Press!" Sephi shouted. Steelix growled as it swung its body down and slammed Tera into the ground, pressing against her with all its weight.

"Iron Head!" Lily shouted and Tera repeatedly slammed her head into Steelix, trying to get it off her. "Dammit…Stone Edge!" She shouted. Tera slammed her tail into the ground, and several pillars of stone slammed into Steelix and pushed it of her, and she took to the air.

"Oh no you don't! Flash Cannon!" Sephi shouted and Steelix reared its head back, and fired a silvery beam at Tera, hitting her wing and causing her to shriek in pain.

"Screech!" Lily called out and Tera turned and let out an ear piercing screech, causing Steelix to wince as its defense fell. "Fire Fang!" She shouted. Tera flew down and bit down on Steelix's head, the fiery fangs exploding, causing Steelix to stumble, and Tera followed up with another Fire Fang.

"Double Edge!" Sephi shouted. Steelix shook off Tera and rushed forward with a white aura as it slammed into her, continuing its rush into a rock.

"Giga Impact!" Lily shouted. Tera rocketed out of the dust, covered in a purple glow as she slammed into Steelix and pushed it back and eventually got it off the ground and slammed it into the wall. Steelix was looking rough, but so was Tera.

"Iron Tail!" Sephi shouted and the tip of its tail gained the familiar metallic hue and slammed into Tera's back, causing her to cry out.

"Fire Fang!" Lily shouted and Tera bit down on its neck with flaming fangs, and shook her head as if dig her fangs in deeper. Steelix cried in pain and started using Iron tail repeatedly. This went on before both Pokémon seemed to slump away from each other.

"Double Edge!"

"Giga Impact!"

The two Pokémon charged forth and slammed into each other, head first, and were thrown back from the force of their attacks and fell unconscious.

"Both Pokémon are unable to battle, please choose your next Pokémon!" The ref said as both recalled their Pokémon.

"Midnight, you got this!" Lily said. Midnight nodded and ran out on the field. Sephi smiled.

"Alright then! Tyranitar!" She shouted and tossed an Ultra Ball high up. It opened and revealed the massive Pokémon, who roared loudly. She then grinned as she dug into her pocket and pulled out a wire framed star, with a Key Stone in the middle.

"Tyranitar! Our Wish will come true! And we will keep it so! Show them our wish! Mega Evolution!" She shouted.

"You're kidding." Lily said as she watched the Tyranitar grow in size, and its armor grew from its spikes, until it had a more threatening profile. Midnight growled and readies herself as the light surrounding Tyranitar exploded off it, and it to roar louder.

Sephi seemed to wait before raising an eyebrow. "You're not mega evolving?" She asked.

"A friend gave me advice, your strongest isn't what it seems." Lily said. "You have two Pokémon left, this isn't your strongest. So, Night Slash!" Midnight's horn gained a dark black sheen as she ran forward at Tyranitar.

"Aw, that's no fun!" Sephi said with a grin. "Thunder Punch!" She shouted and Tyranitar's fist gained an electric charge, and swung hard at the approaching Absol. Midnight ducked under the telegraphed swing and slashed its stomach, seeming to do very little.

"Play Rough!" Lily shouted and Midnight started hitting Tyranitar in a playful, but forceful manner, this doing much more as Tyranitar stumbled from the hits,

"Earthquake!" Sephi shouted. Tyranitar roared and slammed the ground with its foot as Midnight jumped back. The ground split and cracked and blasted open, knocking around Midnight till the slab of earth she was on jolted up, fast enough it hit her body hard and sent her flying.

"Midnight!" Lily shouted.

"Hyper Beam!" Sephi shouted. Tyranitar roared and fired the powerful attack, the beam landing and exploding, sending Midnight rolling on the broken ground.

"…She can't beat it…without going down too." Lily said looking down. "Midnight, Perish Song." She said. Sephi gasped. As Midnight stood and sung an ominous song, to Lily, it was sad, painful to sing.

She sang the tragedy of her own life. An aura surrounded the two. Soon, they'd fall.

"Tyranitar! Stone Edge!" Sephi shouted, seemingly rushed. Lily knew why. If she beat Midnight, she could recall her Pokémon. Tyranitar slammed the ground and sent pillars bursting through the ground. Midnight dashed to the side of the one that appeared under her and ran off.

"Earthquake!" Tyranitar slammed the ground with its foot again, ripping up the earth even more, Midnight elegantly jumping and dodging flying debris. "Hyper Beam!" Tyranitar charged the attack and fired. Midnight ducked under a piece of uplifted earth, which exploded above her from the attack.

"Just stay up Midnight!" Lily shouted. Tyranitar was panting from using Hyper Beam twice in a row so soon. Midnight soon ran out, and Tyranitar growled.

"Stone Edge!" Sephi shouted. Tyranitar punched the ground, causing blue stone pillars to shoot out, and hit Midnight, sending her up in the air. Sephi opened her mouth to call another Hyper Beam, but a dark aura surrounded both Pokémon, and Midnight hit the ground and lie still. Tyranitar stood still before it was covered in a rainbow glow, and returned to its non-Mega form, and fell forward.

Perish Song had completed.

"Both Pokémon have fainted. Sephi, Lily, choose your final Pokémon!" The ref shouted. The two recalled their Pokémon. Sephi smiled, then laughed a bit.

"I feel like I've been taking this way too seriously." She said.

"W-What?" Lily said.

"Oh no no, not what I meant! I meant I'm not enjoying myself enough, I'm sure I will when I call out my best!" She said and held up a Pokeball with a colorful design. It looked like paint splotches.

Lily smiled and nodded. "Go Zack! Fight by my side!" She shouted and her shadow Gallade rushed onto the field and got ready to fight.

"Or wish has kept this land safe for years. Now let's show them partner!" She shouted. She tossed the Poke Ball and it popped open. The Pokémon materialized.

It was a Smeargle. The crowd went wild seeing it, as it waved happily to everyone.

"A…Smeargle? Well, let's not underestimate it." She said. She put her hand on her Key Stone.

"Now, Zack, let's show our bond, everything we've been through. Show them the light in your darkness!" Lily shouted. "Mega Evolution!"

Zack's Mega Stone reacted and sent out beams of light to meet with those coming from Lily's Key Stone and met, but quickly turned dark as Zack was engulfed in darkness, and his form started to shift, until it exploded off him. In all ways he was a Mega Gallade, but his cape was a full cape, and ragged at the end, the blades on his arms looked serrated as well. With his darker color scheme, he looked like a villain than a hero.

"That's awesome." Lily said. The ref looked at the two, rose his arms, and swung them down.

"Begin!"

"Night Slash!" Lily shouted. Zack's arms gained a dark black glow as he rushed forward.

"Pretty easy to telegraph!" Sephi said. "Leaf Storm!" She shouted and Smeargle aimed its tail at Zack and fired a swirling storm of leaves that slammed into him and threw him back.

"Again!" Lily shouted and Zack landed well and rushed forth, gaining ground much faster and slashing Smeargle. "Now slash!" She shouted. Zack stopped short and jumped slightly and swiped behind him, spinning as he slashed Smeargle's back.

"Aura Sphere!" Sephi shouted. Smeargle made a rainbow colored ball of aura, and spun as it tossed it at Zack. Zack didn't have time to react as it was hit hard by the attack that exploded on him and sent him rolling. He quickly recovered and stood.

"Psycho Cut!" Lily said. Zack's armed gained a vibrant pink glow as he rushed forward.

"Psyshock!" Sephi shouted. Smeargle grabbed its tail and took aim as several masses of blue and pink energy formed, before it fired them, the attacks slamming into Zack and exploding.. Zack came out of the smoke and slashed Smeargle, before grabbing it by the chest and slamming in into the ground.

"Zen Headbutt!" Lily shouted. Zack's head gained an odd blue sheen as he slammed his head into Smeargle's, hard, causing Smeargle to cry out in pain.

"This is too fun…" Sephi muttered. "This whole battle has! Sacred Fire!" She shouted. A glow formed in the belly of Smeargle as it inhaled deeply.

Up in the stands, Robin was freaking out.

"How!? How does it know Sacred Fire!? Isn't that Ho-Oh's unique move!?" He shouted

"It is odd…" Stanley said. He looked to Mike, who had a knowing smile, but was staying silent. "Odd indeed." He muttered and went back to watching the fight

"Sacred…Zack! Get off him!" Lily shouted. Zack jumped back, but Smeargle sat up and let out a massive gold and orange colored flame, slamming into Zack and throwing him far in the air. Zack could be seen falling from pretty high up.

"Zack! We still got this!" Lily shouted. Zack opened his eyes and righted himself with Psychic and started falling towards Smeargle.

"Like hell I'll let that happen! Hyper Voice!" She shouted. Smeargle took another deep breath and let out a cry where the sound waves were strong enough to be visible.

"Shadow Blade!" Lily shouted. Zack gathered Shadow energy in its arms, and made massive blades from it, encompassing its arms as it made its way through Smeargle's attack. In landed in front of it and made an X-slash, sending Smeargle flying back and rolling. Smeargle stood and grinned, then stumbled.

"Close Combat!" Lily shouted and Zack rushed forward and kicked Smeargle up and started wailing in him.

"Moonblast!" Sephi shouted. Smeargle maintained enough concentration through the onslaught to gather moonlight in its paw and slam in into Zack's face, the explosion knocking Zack Back. "Sacred Fire!" Smeargle inhaled deeply and let out the golden flames once again, scorching across the broken battlefield.

"Shadow…Shadow Slicer!" She shouted. Zack's eyes shone a dark black as shadow energy gathered in its right arm, until it was glowing and shaking violently, then exploded into a massive blade. Zack rose his arm and swiped sideways, sending a massive energy wave at Smeargle. The blade of shadow collided with Sacred Fire for a second before cutting through the flames, and slamming into Smeargle and exploding.

"Go Zack! Shadow Blade!" Lily shouted at the top of her lungs. Zack roared as the black and purple energy became black and red and he formed the dark blades on his arms and rushed through. Sephi gasped.

"This is it! Superpower!" Sephi shouted. Smeargle roared as a blue glow surrounded it and it rushed head long at Zack. "Combine it with Night Slash!" The glow went to its tail, and a blade of dark energy extended from it, now a violet color from Superpower. The two jumped at each other and slashed, passing each other and landing. The stadium fell silent. Zack stumbled and everyone gasped, but soon, Sephi sighed.

"Well damn, guess all wishes have to end" She said as Smeargle fell over, unconscious.

"Smeargle is unable to battle! The winner is Challenger Lily!" The ref called, and the crowd roared in excitement.

She did it!" Robin shouted jumping from his seat. "She actually beat Sephi!" He said.

"She did very well." Mike said nodding.

"Damn good job Lily!" Rina said.

Stanley smiled. "You did awesome sis!" He shouted at the top of his lungs.

Lily just stared as Zack returned to normal and sat down, sighing. Lily smiled big and ran up to Zack and hugged him from behind.

"We did it Zack!" She shouted. Sephi walked over to the two and nodded.

"Yep, you two did great. I'm impressed. Now, I guess that wish of mine is over…hey, did you know if you see Ho-oh, your greatest wish will come to pass?" She asked.

"N-No…but why bring that up?" She asked.

"Just a fun fact." She said with a wink. She turned and her cloak flew up, and she saw it.

A Pokeball on her belt. Colored in beautiful gold, red, white and green.

"No way…" Lily said as she stood. She walked out waving to people, processing what she saw.

Was it possible Sephi was like her?

-(o)- Several hours later

Lily sat on her bed, the others joining her in her room. A ceremony done, interviews over, she just wanted to relax the last night she had the room.

"Lily Zenex, champion of Johto, still don't sound real." Robin said laughing as he sat down on a chair.

"Didn't sound right for me and Hoenn." Stanley said.

"Either way, it's real." Rina said. Lily sat up and smiled, then looked to Mike.

"Hey, I saw an odd Poke Ball on Sephi's belt, just wanna know if she's, like me?" She said.

"Oh yeah she is. Ho-Oh is her partner." Mike said.

"Wait what?" Robin said, looking at Mike.

"Yeah, her wish was for a peaceful Johto, Ho-Oh and her have been doing their best to keep it that way." He said.

"So, just like that she's part of this group?" Stanley asked.

"If we need her. I'm sure she's going into a training regimen. Probably won't see her unless Ho-Oh deems it urgent." Mike said.

"So, Lily, whats next, should we all travel together?" Rina asked.

"I don't know really! Robin?" Lily said. Robin waved her off.

"I'm stickin' in Johto for a while more, sorry." He said.

"A-About that." Mike said. The group looked to him.

"I have, a request. The way things are going with ES, David may take a hands on approach on the next region he attempts to, take. I assume its Unova." He said.

"So we all go and help you." Stanley said.

"No!" He shouted. The group looked at him as he cleared his throat. "Sorry, no, I'm, I'm going alone. I would like you all to monitor the regions you've been victorious in, as Champions, or part of the league." Mike said.

"Wait, what?" Rina said. "You're just ditching us?"

"No no, I'll keep contact, but, David is a different opponent. Emily, James, even Alex. Small time compared to David. I'll handle it, you all handle things in the other regions. Cass is already working on Sinnoh." He said.

"So you want us to put down roots? That fast?" Lily said.

"It's not permanent. I just, have a feeling about Unova, something big will happen there. I don't want you all getting hurt." He said.

"That doesn't feel right and you know it." Stanley said. "We should be there, helping you."

"If it comes to that I'll call you, please just trust me on this, it's for the best we spread our efforts." He said. There was silence around the room.

"Well if Lily stays, I'll stay." Robin said. "I know around as much as most here, so I can help." He said

"I still have the offer from Hoenn." Stanley said.

"Kanto needs a new Elite Four member." Rina said. Blizz shrugged.

"I'm with her." Blizz said.

"Thank you all. Furthermore, I need to tell you about the Council." He said.

"The Council?" Lily said. Mike nodded.

"I'll do this as short as I can. You all know several of our Legendary Pokemon know each other. The reason they've been alive for millennia, watching over the work with Arceus, preventing world ending happenings where they can." He said. "I work with them, as do you." He said.

"…So you're insane." Robin said.

"Har har. Here" He said and handed out keys, each with the Arceus Wheel as the holder of the key. "Use these on a door and get access to the council chambers. They're keyed to the first person who touches them, so yeah." He said as the group each took a key.

"You realize that makes zero sense right?" Lily said.

-Why would Giritina ask you to help me if such a thing didn't exist.- Lugia said to them all. Darkrai rose from Mike's shadow.

[It's true. We all have extra power from Arceus. Allows us to live indefinitely unless killed by methods other than age. I'm a really fucking old Darkrai.] He said.

"…So he's not crazy?" Robin said.

"You know how to hurt huh?" Mike said. "Either way, thank you for all trusting me on this. I'd love to really stay and celebrate, but, I have a flight to catch." He said as he stood, Darkrai melding into his shadow. Lily smiled.

"I'll be the Guardian of Johto, with Lugia by my side, I'll keep this land safe." She said.

"I'm sure Sephi would love to hear that." Mike said as he walked out of the room. The rest of the night for Lily and company was one of fun, and excitement.

But Mike, he had a flight, and as he stepped outside, he was met by a woman, in white and gold armor.

"You're not subtle." He said.

"I haven't been down here in, well, a decade or so. Or not? Time's odd. Mike, before you head to Unova, I'm briefing you." She said. Mike shrugged and walked, the woman walking beside him.

"Simply put, Unova's been silent for around a year now. No updates, no sighting of the Council members. Your hunch on David may be right, might not be, but I need you to investigate regardless." He said.

"You didn't think it important to check before hand?" Mike asked.

"I'd love to, but I'm worried we won't see those we send in. You and Darkrai are our best bet, as he has a Pokeball." She said.

"Right right, well whatever your reason for waiting, I'll check. Though, time for a new look. I'll get that in Unova." He said.

"Just use the Amulet. As an Artifact, it has a variety of uses." She said. "Farewell, Hand." She said as she vanished in light. Mike looked at his amulet and tapped it, and in a flash of light he had a new outfit. Cargo pants, running shoes, a black t-shirt, and a black overcoat, extending just past his knees, and had a hood. He looked it over and smiled. "Nice." He said as he pulled up his hood, and called out Skye.

"I should train a new team when I get there." He said petting his sister Pokémon. "Need to branch out right?" He asked.

[Just admit you want that thrill again.] She said with a grin.

"Fine, I wanna train new Pokémon." He laughed. He hopped on her and they took off, bound for an airport to head to Unova.

-(o)- Sinnoh, ES HQ

David sighed as he looked over reports for the other regions he'd left his Admins in charge of. While they were doing well, they had zero idea for artifacts. He was closer than all of them, and from now, his men could find them. When it came to Unova, he needed quicker results. He stood and walked out putting on a long black Jacket that went down to his ankles. "Send out a memo." He told his secretary, who was surprised to see him.

"I'm going to Unova to finalize operations there. Tell the man in charge he's relieved from the duty, and may take any supervisor role he wishes. I'll arrive shortly." He said and walked off.

"Y-Yes sir…" She said and started typing it up.

David had a feeling. Mike was gonna be there. He'd missed his old friend. He wanted to fight him again.

"Just you wait old friend. I'll end you this time." He said.

Unova awaited, as did, a new Chosen.

Though they did not know it, their journey was almost beginning.
