Chapter 25: Kisame

Kisame lunged at the four, swinging Samehada at such speeds that air pressure was released.

Nepgear slammed Gehaburn into Samehada before pushing against it, her body eventually getting pushed back due to Kisame's physical strength.

Subaru quickly slided to Kisame before slashing at him, forcing him to back up, allowing Nepgear to focus on Kisame.

Kisame quickly created a water clone that kicked the unsuspecting Nepgear back. Rem jumped from behind Nepgear and slammed her flail, the clone having to throw Samehada to push the attack back.

Nepgear quickly got on her feet and focused.

'Starshine!' In moments, Kisame's clone got destroyed with zero chance at regeneration.

Subaru was constantly putting pressure on Kisame, not allowing him a chance to attack.

However, despite this, Kisame still had a smirk on his face. Quickly noticing Subaru's footwork, he made Subaru trip and positioned Samehada so that Subaru will fall on it, stabbing himself.

Suddenly, Subaru got pulled back and a punch landed on Kisame's chest. It was Okabe.

'Tch!' Kisame quickly jumped up high before weaving hand seals.

'Water Release: Exploding Water Shock Wave!' Kisame vomitted water which quickly thrashed the tables and chairs.

Nepgear cursed as she readied Gehaburn. Allowing power to gather at the tip, she thrusted.

'Gehaburn Spear!' A red energy spear appeared out of the tip of Gehaburn and divided the water into half.

Kisame landed on the water that now consumed the entire Hideout and slammed his palm on the surface.

'Water Release: Five Hungry Sharks Jutsu!' Five sharks made out of water appeared from Kisame's fingertips and they quickly swam for the four.

Subaru and Rem was underwater as they began swimming away, Rem occasionally trying to destroy the sharks with her flail. However, the sharks quickly regenerated using the surrounding water.

Nepgear flew into the air and tried lunging at Kisame but he simply raised his arm.

'Water Prison Jutsu!' A water sphere quickly enveloped Nepgear and despite Nepgear's superhuman strength, she couldn't break free.

Okabe floated and dodged some of the sharks that came for him. He noted that he couldn't even hit them because of how fast the sharks were.

Suddenly, a fact dawned on him.

'(Albion! What does 'Divide' do?)'

'It halves one's magic.'

'(It isn't possible that he can spit out this much water, even if he is a shark...it's made from magic, isn't it?!)'

'Not really. It seems different from magic. However, since Divide worked on the electric attack, I would say it's their version of magic.' Albion explained.

Okabe nodded as a smile escaped him. Raising his hand, his left eye began constantly flashing.

'Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide! Divide!' After using Divide five times, the huge pool of water became non-existent and the five sharks disappeared.

'Hah!' Okabe laughed. As he was moving to free Nepgear, he suddenly felt an intense pain swell up from within him. He staggered and dropped to his knees.

'(Albion?)'

'Your body can't handle the amount of power you've gained from using Divide.' True enough, Okabe felt blood trickling from the side of his head, where the cracks were. Surprisingly, his blood was now white.

'Are you alright?!' Subaru and Rem ran over to him, helping him to get on his feet.

'...' Kisame looked pissed. He created more water clones all of whom began attacking the trio.

Rem quickly used El Huma to pierce through the clones, who quickly regenerated. Then, she smirked.

'El Huma: Freezing Shards!' The clones that were once pierced all quickly froze from the inside. She then smashed all of them apart with her flail.

The clones that wasn't pierced however, tried to attack Subaru only for him to quickly sidestep them before knocking them out with a series of moves.

Okabe also helped out as much as he could by smashing the faces of the clones in.

Meanwhile, Nepgear struggled in the water prison that was stronger than steel. Nepgear felt her limbs become lead as she lost mobility.

Then, as she got exhausted, she transformed out of her HDD, returning to human. This, however, either by luck or by a force of nature, dispelled the water prison.

Kisame looked on in shock before quickly trying to stab Nepgear with Samehada. Subaru noticed it and used his last Unseen Hand to grab Nepgear and pull her away from her imminent death.

Subaru hugged Nepgear as they both fell to the ground to cushion her fall.

Subaru gasped for air. He had expended all of his Unseen Hands and now, his body wouldn't listen to him any longer. Nepgear didn't seem to be capable of fighting any longer as well.

Okabe could still fight, but was in a rather terrible condition from overusing Divide.

Rem was the only one in decent shape.

Rem looked at Subaru before nodding and gaining a look of determination. She quickly slammed her flail at an escaping Kisame who quickly turned around and smirked.

'Earth Release: Double Suicide Decapitation!' Kisame quickly disappeared into the ground, causing Rem to look around with caution.

Suddenly, Kisame appeared from behind her.

'Rem!' Subaru screamed.

Rem barely dodged a strike of Samehada before slamming her flail into Kisame with a ferocious look.

'Water Prison Jutsu!' Kisame called out as he spat out blood. A water sphere encased Rem.

'Rem!' Subaru yelled panicking.

However, Rem didn't panic. She had seen this attack before and judging from how Nepgear got out of it, she smiled.

She could do the same.

A white horn manifested on Rem's forehead. The water prison then disappeared as quickly as it was formed. Rem slammed her flail into Kisame's face, sending him flying into a wall.

She landed on her feet, smiling. Raising her hand, she yelled: 'Ul Huma!'

She materialised and shot three pillars of ice, each as thick as a hundred spears bundled together.

Kisame opened his eyes wide in shock as he desperately dodged them. However, Rem soon dashed towards Kisame and attempted to smash Kisame's face.

'Summoning Jutsu!' Kisame summoned a huge shark that Rem finished off with a Al Huma that pierced through the shark's heart.

However, this served enough of a distraction as Kisame brought Samehada down towards a unsuspecting Rem.

Rem sent her flail towards Samehada but unexpectedly, Samehada suddenly twisted and stabbed her from the side.

Rem quickly backed up and got into a defensive stance.

'...A flail…' Kisame smirked. Kisame swung Samehada around as his previous injuries healed.

Rem stared on in shock. She quickly chanted as magic engulfed her.

'Al...HUUUUUUUUUUU-' She got interrupted when Kisame slashed at her. Although she managed to dodge it at the last second, Samehada managed to tear through her magic aura, resetting her spell back to nil.

Cursing, Rem tried to cast her magic again but now, Kisame was fighting seriously and not giving any chance of retaliation.

As Kisame fought more and more, Samehada began getting bigger and larger, tearing off the bandages covering it.

Rem was visibly exhausted due to her strength slowly being sapped each time Samehada hit her. Subaru began sweating. Suddenly, Nepgear stirred in his laps.

'...argh...Subaru?' She then shot up, looking around. She noticed how Rem was slowly but surely beginning to lose.

She then noticed Samehada.

'That sword…'

'Is sentient.' Okabe finished as he walked over to them. It seemed that he had finally beaten all of the water clones.

'I could Divide Kisame.' Okabe suggested. Subaru shook his head.

'You will die.'

Nepgear began laughing. She then popped her knuckles.

'Bitch! I have my own sentient sword!' She raised Gehaburn, which shone brightly. Her body then began having its colour returned. It seemed that Nepgear was drawing on Gehaburn's reserve power.

She rushed towards Kisame, distracting him for the finishing attack. She slashed at Samehada, the two sentient blades growling at each other.

Meanwhile, Subaru and Okabe quickly tended to Rem.

'Take this!' Nepgear shouted as she kicked Kisame in the balls before kicking his face with the heel of her feet.

Kisame coughed as he extended Samehada to try to stab Nepgear. However, she quickly pointed Gehaburn at Kisame. Gehaburn quickly transformed into the jaws of a beast and bit on Samehada.

'Gehaburn…' She smirked.

'BLAST!' An explosive blast of crimson energy headed towards Kisame.

'Point blank!' She added.

The attack blew a hole in the wall and across the entirety of Alcohol Town. She laid on the floor, exhausted.

'...That ought to have done it...right?' She questioned Subaru. Subaru merely shrugged and said: 'You never know. He might have merged with his blade to get the shark skin armour.'

Although Subaru said it in jest, amongst the smoke, a figure stood up. He then walked out, revealing Kisame with a more shark-like appearance with fins and webbed hands.

'You just had to jinx it…' Okabe groaned.

Kisame smirked as he extended the spikes on his body to stab his enemies. Nepgear quickly jumped up and began deflecting the spikes with difficulty as the spikes could move like a flail.

Okabe quickly tried to Divide the spikes but cursed when he realised that the spikes were not made from magic or chakra. It's an actual life form.

Subaru tried to block off the spikes to no avail as Rem pushed Subaru away before a spike got him from behind.

'Huma!' Rem yelled, creating a shining water barrier that blocked her and Subaru from the attacks.

Nepgear cursed as she backed up. Getting into stance, she yelled.

'Share Burst: Divine Mercy!' She felt her body pulsating with power. Out of all of the abilities she had remembered in flashbacks and in her dream, this seemed to be the strongest one...well, after 'Finishing Move: Lost Destruction'.

Kisame tried to interrupt and cancel her technique but seeing how it seemed to be a powerful move, Okabe jumped in front of her, tanking the spikes.

'Okabe!' Nepgear gasped in shock.

'Nepgear! Focus!' Okabe yelled as white blood rolled down his body.

'Huma!' Rem created another water barrier in front of Okabe. He looked over and saw Subaru smiling at him while being protected by their own water barrier.

Nepgear focused, drawing energy into Gehaburn. She felt Gehaburn heating up, and her Shares quickly depleting.

She only had one shot at this. Luckily, based on what she remembered, she was sure that this attack would kill Kisame.

Kisame growled as he dashed towards Nepgear, breaking through the barrier and punching Okabe to the side.

However, it was too late. With a smirk, Nepgear swiped her blade.

Golden energy gathered at the tip of Gehaburn and Kisame felt his body splitting into half.

'Die!' With a deafening roar, Kisame skull crunched and broke.

Blood spilled from his head as he fell to the floor, breaking his limbs while doing so.

And with that, Kisame has officially been felled.

Tired, Nepgear let her body fall but before she hit the floor, she felt someone holding onto her. She looked up and saw Okabe.

Okabe then laid her gently on the floor.

'What was that?' Subaru asked. Nepgear smiled.

'That move right there...deals a crap ton of damage if you have a lot of killing intent…'

Subaru scratched his head.

'Doesn't that mean that if he had no killing intent, it wouldn't have worked?' Nepgear nodded.

'Yep. It would've been weaker than a punch from a baby.' Okabe then sat on the floor.

'Well, I think the four of us deserve some rest.'

Rem, Subaru, and Nepgear nodded as they finally let their bodies rest.
