Mama Yang Hero Academia-29
Scythe just starred at Stain, as the serial killer looked at her in disbelief.
"If I understand you correctly. You don't wish to take me down for the fame and glory that comes with it. But you simply wish to stop me, because the way I want to remake society, is supposedly dragging All Might's name through the mud?" Stain questioned.
"Did I stutter?" Scythe questioned, secretly sending her location coordinates with her scroll.
"I am simply trying to cleanse society of the fake heroes. Those who only care for fame and glory. For money and wealth." Stain exclaimed.
"You seriously think, killing is how you should do that?" Scythe questioned. "With your Quirk, you could have made for an amazing hero. You could have lead by example, and brought in villains, by paralyzing them. But no, instead you chose to kill innocent lives, and cause grief and pain for their loved ones. It's people like you…" Scythe began, her blade engulfed in black and violet tipped flames. "…that make this world truly despicable."
(Cue Music… Soldiers: Otherwise)
Scythe went lunging at Stain, swinging down with her blade, forcing the Hero Killer to block the flaming blade. Stains eyes were wide in shock, as he couldn't have predicted All Might's Granddaughter, the young woman he saw during the broadcast of the Sports Festival, had this kind of hate in her heart. Yet he couldn't see and impurities in her eyes. All he saw was her grief, and her intentions.
"I will get justice, for the families you've caused to suffer. But I won't do it the way Iida had planned on doing it, I will do it the right way, and bring you into the police." Scythe exclaimed, kicking Stain in the ribs, sending him to the wall Native had been pinned to. Stain looked up and turned to the side, to quickly evade a kick to the head from Scythe's boot, which created cracks in the bricks and cement.
"You're a lot stronger, and faster than you look." Stain said, blocking each blow Scythe delivered to Stain.
"My heart burns with the fury of a thousand suns. Tell me, where is Adam Taurus?" Scythe questioned, pinning Stain to the wall, by pushing against his blade with hers.
"Adam Taurus?" Stain questioned.
"The man, who gave you the red blade. The man who gave you a blood red katana." Scythe exclaimed.
"Him? I have no idea." Stain said, pushing her back, with a kick to the stomach. "I last saw him when the League of Villains tried recruiting me. I gave them a hard pass on their offer."
"He's been killing heroes all over the city, leaving their chest cavities open and empty." Scythe stated, pulling out the second hilt and flipping it around, opening it to reveal it was a shorter blade from a samurai set of katana.
"So he's the one who's been doing that." Stain exclaimed. "Sorry, but I'm not in contact with him, or any of them."
"Don't lie to me." Scythe cried kicking Stain with her leg empowered by One-for-All, sending him out into the open, where other heroes were racing to the location. Scythe came jumping out of the smoke, her healing magic having repaired her leg from the damage her One-for-All caused, and swung both blades in a downward slash, to which Stain blocked.
"You're strong girl. Not many have been able to put me on my toes like this." Stain said. "But I'm afraid only your grandfather is allowed to kill me."
"Who said anything about taking your life?" Scythe questioned, twisting below a swing of his blade, and elbowing him in the torso, knocking him back a bit.
All the pro's just stood in stunned silence, as a first year at U.A was going toe-to-toe with the Hero Killer Stain.
"You have your crimes to answer for, and you think you're gonna get out of answering for them that easily? How naïve do you think I am?" Scythe questioned, kicking Stain on the underside of the jaw.
"Eh-he-he." Stain laughed wiping his chin. "Now I see. You don't wish to take my life. You just want to ensure I'm detained and turned in to the proper authorities. Which is why you've only used your Quirk on me when needing to evade of block one of my attacks. You're following the law perfectly. You're fighting me with nothing but your skills with a sword." Stain smirked. "A true hero to the very end."
(End Song…)
"You call her a true hero." An echoing voice said, resonating all along the open streets. Scythe recognized who the voice belonged to, and her legs began to shake, something that Stain noticed in great detail "I call her my prey."
Stain and the Pros looked up as a black and red webbing came down from a rooftop, and down came a familiar, feared face, with the red and black symbiote peeking out from his shoulder, looking directly at Scythe, and Stain, on the opposite end of the street than the pros.
"Hello there my General." Adam smirked.
"A-Adam." Scythe gasped, her entire body shaking in fear as she dropped her weapons, and dropped to her ass, as she unwittingly exited her Argonaut form with steam pouring from her body. "No. Stay back. Stay away from me."
Stain was confused at what was going on, before the memories of what Sombra had said to him came ringing through his head.
"That Blade… belongs to the man who has been hunting down my daughter, to turn her into a living weapon. He's a monster, worse than you… he doesn't share your ideals. He wants to enslave humanity under his feet, and rule over it, with an iron fist."
'So that's why she's shaking like a leaf. He's inflicted PTSD on her, and she's scarred to death of him.' Stain thought. 'She probably thought that by facing him, she'd be facing her demons, and would get over her trauma. She might be naïve, but she's smart for her age. She must have had something that was helping her prepare for meeting up with him.'
"Is this what you want?" Scythe questioned, reaching into her pocket and pulling out the vile of symbiote goo, which looked like it had changed colors. "Here, take it." Scythe shouted throwing the vile and shattering it on the asphalt."
"Carnage. Does that excess mass look different to you?" Adam questioned. "It isn't your normal coloration."
"There's a possibility…"
The mass of goo that had formed on the ground in front of Scythe began to move, much to her horror, and reached out, latching onto her ankle.
"What?" Scythe questioned trying to scoot back. "No, please, get off me. Please I don't wanna die." Scythe cried out.
"It can't be." Carnage stated. "My mass, it's formed into its own entity. A separate symbiote with its own free will, and mind."
"Doesn't matter." Adam said, marching up to the mass of goop forming around Scythe. "It makes our job of grabbing her easier."
Before Adam and Carnage could come any further to the cocoon that had formed around Scythe, a serrated knife had imbedded itself in the ground between Adam's feet, causing him to stop.
"Don't take another step further, unless you want the next one to go into your foot." Stain said, stepping in front of the cocoon, and grabbing Scythe's long katana. "You will not lay one hand on this child."
"What's this? Gone and grown a heart have you?" Adam chuckled.
"This child, has made me realize that there's more to changing people than sending them a message. She showed me, that I could have lead by example, I could have avoided causing all this bloodshed, and pain. I could have changed society, as an example of what a hero should be, thus inspiring future generations." Stain said, clutching his own katana and Scythe's in both hands. "So I'm going to lead by example and protect her with my life. She is worthy of being called a hero."
"You're gonna oppose me? After we so generously extended our offer to you to join the League of Villains?" Adam questioned.
"I may kill people, but I do it to change society for the better, not make it worse. That is where our differences lay." Stain glared. "All you heroes behind me."
"What do you want you villain?" One of them questioned.
"What exactly are you all doing here?" Stain questioned.
"We were given orders to come to a certain set of coordinates sent to Ice-Queen via text message." One of them said.
"So she sent out a call for help while I wasn't looking huh? Cleaver girl." Stain smirked. "Grab the cocoon and guard it with your lives."
"Why should we take orders from a villain?" One of the heroes questioned.
"You don't have to." Weiss said, as she and Todoroki came sliding in on sheets of ice. "Take them from me. The girl in that cocoon is like a granddaughter to Ice-Queen. If you don't protect her, you'll be facing her wrath."
"So guard that cocoon and the girl in it, with your lives." Todoroki said.
"Yessir." The heroes said, grabbing the cocoon and pulling it to safety.
"So, how do you wanna do this Todoroki?" Weiss questioned, as they both stepped up to either side of Stain. "Never thought we'd be teaming up with Stain."
"Same." Todoroki said, flexing his shoulders.
"You kids stay back." Stain said, marching past them. "You don't have your licenses, or your provisional licenses. So I'm afraid you're not gonna be able to fight this battle."
"C'mon, we just swallowed our pride to stand beside you." Weiss exclaimed.
"An' that took strength. But this is my fight." Stain said. "I might kill people. But even I have my limits. An' if there's one thing I can't stand, just as much as fake heroes, it's people, who think they can turn others, into living weapons."
Stain lunged forward at Adam, swinging both blades in an X, formation across his chest. Only for the attack to be blocked by Carnage as he enveloped Adam in his symbiotic armor.
"Pity. But I suppose you humans are all the same." Adam said before Carnage's mask enveloped his face. "Now hand over the girl, an' I will only devour the heart of the Hero Killer and the white haired girl." Carnage said, pointing one hand at Weiss, while gripping Stain with the other, gripping him tight enough to force him into dropping the blades.
"We're not handing anyone over." Todoroki said, putting an arm protectively in front of Weiss.
"Then everyone here dies." Carnage said, opening his jaws wide, and bringing Stain to it.
Before Stain's head could be enveloped by Carnage's jaw. Purple and black symbiote claw gripped him, and pulled him free of Carnages clutches, landing him in front of Weiss and Todoroki's feet, wrapped in the webbing like bindings.
Carnage glared, and all three followed the direction of his glare, catching sight of something they were not expecting. Coming out of the crowd of heroes, was Scythe, back in her Argonaut form, but she was covered in a symbiote suit that looked skin tight, with violet Grimm markings traveling up her legs, and around her waist like a belt, with her top covered in the same black and violet suit, leaving her midriff exposed, like a matching set of yoga pants and a sports bra connected on the back. The symbiote suit traveled over her shoulders and down her arms like single line tattoos before forming into vambraces that went around her wrists and upper forearms, with the tribal Fairy Tail emblem on each vambrace in violet. (A/N: Think of Mary Janes symbiote suit from Ultimate Spiderman Webbed Warriors, only with the front abdomen part, and sections of the sleeves and gloves missing, and without the mask. An illustration of it will be up on my DeviantArt Account in the near future.)
"Man that was a close call." Scythe said, rotating her left shoulder as a soft looking symbiote face with white eyes, outlined in violet, with a bright smile, popped out from her right shoulder. The smile wasn't scary like Venom or Carnage's. It was actually a bright smile, that told anyone everything would be okay and they were safe now. "Sorry Stain. I know you tried sticking up for me, and fighting Adam. But you're still a villain, and I wouldn't be a very good hero in training if I let you get away in the middle of a fight now would I?"
"I suppose not." Stain chuckled.
"Scythe… are you… are you wearing?"
"Venom's grandkid? Yeah." Scythe said stretching her arms up, her shoulders, elbows, and wrists popping. "Turns out the cocoon was to help me get over my PTSD of the symbiote itself. An' it absorbed quite a bit of my energy, since I've been carrying it around with me nonstop the past few days." Scythe smiled, scratching the little symbiote's head. "Which also means, it's evolved."
"What do you mean evolved?" Carnage questioned.
"All your weaknesses, fire, sound, extreme heats, electrocution, all of them. My symbiote is not affected by those at all." Scythe smiled, crouching down before lunging towards Carnage at speeds he wasn't able to follow, with her fist cocked back with black and violet flames lit up. "She's also increased the amount of output of my grandfather's power, I'm able to safely handle."
Scythe swung her fist forward, and hit Carnage in the stomach, and sent him flying down the street, with the symbiote burning up.
"Granted it's not by a very big margin. I've only gone from being able to handle 3% to 5%. But still, it's progress." Scythe smiled
After discarding the parts of itself that were still burning, Carnage recovered Adam in more of himself, spreading his symbiotic goo thin.
'This is bad. I don't have any spares of Carnage's backup bodies I preserved, here in this dimension. If Carnage is burnt away, that's it. His consciousness won't be transferred to a backup of him. He'll die, and I'll lose what makes me the true Argonaut Hero of Legend.' Adam thought as Carnage removed its mask from Adam's face. "Just what the hell are you?" Adam shouted.
Scythe smirked at that, and began walking over to where Carnage and Adam landed after she punched them, grabbing her weapons as she did so.
"We…" Scythe began as her symbiote covered her face in a mask, outlining the mask Kirishima gave her in violate, with a mouth synched with her own mouth, looking like a paint mask with Venom's eyes. "Are Wrath…" They both finished at the same time.
(Cue Music… Venom: Eminem)
Scythe/Wrath went running at Carnage/Adam as his mask was reapplied, crossing their arms, ready for a strike from the blades, but Scythe disappeared in a flash of black lightning, leaving Carnage confused as to where the attack would be coming from.
'If she's anything like Venom, she won't be able to set off our danger sense.' Adam thought, before both he and Carnage screamed in pain, as Scythe sliced down on their back, both the long and short blades covered in their black and violet flames.
"Surprise." Scythe said, landing on the ground behind Carnage, before jumping up, evading an attack from the symbiote suit, forming spears, piercing the ground she was on. Twisting through the air, Scythe and Wrath, worked in tandem, slicing both Carnage and Adam's shoulders.
"ENOUGH." Carnage shouted, grabbing her wrists, before she could jump away, knocking the flaming blades out of her wrists. "We will absorb you, and make your symbiote one with us again." Carnage said, as tendrils began to form out, of his torso, and brought her into his mass, growing bigger as he fully enveloped Scythe.
"Scythe no." Weiss called out.
"HEY." Scythe shouted popping her still masked head out of Carnage's symbiote mass. "I'm pretty sure this can be counted as statutory."
After that quip, Scythe burst out of Carnage's chest, in an explosion of fire and electricity.
"Huh look at that. I'm even starting to make quips like Aunt Gwen." Scythe smiled.
"You will not best us, you weakling. You're nothing but a helpless hatchling, who can't get by on her own merits." Carnage growled.
"Wanna bet?" Scythe asked, her brow forwarding, as the mouth on her mask, became more like Venoms.
Scythe and Carnage stared each other down as the echoing silence throughout the area surrounded them. The sirens of the police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances sounding off in the distance of where the Nomu were still rampaging. Though their standoff wouldn't last for much longer.
All it took was a split second for the two to charge at each other and clash halfway, a minor but visible shockwave rippling out from the combatants, the ground cracking from the strength of their exchange. But that wasn't what concerned Carnage at the moment. The fact that Scythe's symbiote wasn't able to be absorbed by him at all, is what held his complete attention. In fact, the symbiote seemed to be highly more evolved and filled with power. It reminded him of the stories of Knull, the God of the Symbiotes, and the first intelligent, but controllable Grimm Salem had tried and somewhat failed to create.
Scythe capitalized on this fact, tightening her own grip on Carnage before four more arms, made of Wrath's symbiotic mass, sprouted from under her arms, and stepping back and swinging her hips as she threw a punch in a large ranged hook with the two right fists that sprouted from her body, causing a violet sideways crescent moon to emit itself from the limbs as her fists made contact with Carnage's face.
Freeing himself from her grasp, Carnage flipped back and recovered his balance, only to stop dead in his tracks when he saw the silhouette standing on either sides of the young woman. As Scythe took a lowered fighting stance, with her right arm outstretched, and her left fist cocked behind her head, charging her attack, Carnage and Adam both swore they saw the silhouettes of a lioness with fur as white as the snowcapped mountains of Atlas, and a white tiger, crouched on either side of her, their eyes trained on him. Both sets of eyes emerald green, with veins of gold. Carnage was so focused on the silhouette's that he didn't notice Scythe's long blade katana by her outstretched foot.
"Etherion Goddess…" Scythe whispered, letting out a chilled breath, before using her foot to flick up her sword by the hilt, and performed a 360o degree spin kick, and slammed her foot into the base of the hilt, sending the blade flying and impaling it in Carnage's shoulder. "Imprisonment."
Almost immediately, Carnage began to lose his grip on his connection with Adam, as he felt himself being pulled away from the Bull Faunus's body, and into the blade, before there was nothing left of him, leaving Adam with a sword sticking through his shoulder like a beef skewer on a stick.
(End Song…)
"What… did you do?" Adam questioned, as Wrath extended her symbiotic arm, and removed the blade from his shoulder.
"We trapped Carnage in our blade." Scythe said as the blade collapsed and she flipped it around like a butterfly knife, and sealed it. "We'll be sure to put Carnage to good use in studying his healing properties."
After that, Wrath removed herself from Scythe's body, but kept her head poking out of her shoulder, while resting on it.
"Man, I'm so tired." Scythe yawned, plopping down on her ass, and reverting to her child form, falling asleep while sitting up.
"Alright little lady, come here." Weiss chuckled, picking Scythe up in her arms, as she subconsciously wrapped them around Weiss's neck, while Todoroki trapped Adam in a block of ice.
"HEADS UP."
Ruby's voice echoed from the alley as a Nomu Grimm came flying out of the ally, with one of its eyes missing, and went to grab a hostage, with Rei and Ruby running in hot on its tail. The first potential hostage it spotted, being Weiss, with Scythe in her arms.
Weiss held tightly to Scythe, as she was jolted awake from the Nomu Grimm grabbing her, but its strength was too strong, and she was pulled from Ice-Princess's arms, some of its blood splattering onto her face. They were all so busy with what was happening with the Nomu Grimm, none of them even realize that Stain pulled out a hidden blade, and was cutting himself free.
"NO." Weiss shouted running after the Nomu Grimm.
Instinctively, Wrath wrapped Scythe in a cocoon for protection, as the symbiote was also tired from the battle against Carnage. As Weiss starred off in disbelief and horror, she reeled back as she felt the disgusting sensation of Stain's tongue licking across her cheek, ingesting the Nomu's blood on her face, before he went running after the now gliding paralyzed Nomu, jumping on its back and stabbing it in the exposed brain, forcing a crashed landing while keeping one hand on the symbiote cocoon that held Scythe, as he got up slowly.
"Get away from her." Weiss shouted.
"Ice-Princess, keep cool. He's got a hostage." Rei said, keeping Weiss back.
"Yeah, an' that hostage is Scythe." Todoroki said, preparing to use his ice and his flames on Stain. This didn't go unnoticed by either Rei or Weiss, who smiled at him with a bit of pride from each of them.
'He's completely forgotten about his father, and has accepted both halves of his power as his own.' Weiss thought.
'That's my boy.' Rei thought, before their attention was drawn back to Stain.
"I surrender." Stain said, dropping his blade.
"Just like that, you surrender, why?" Ruby questioned.
"I learned something tonight. Something very important that I should have learned a long time ago." Stain said, looking down at Scythe as Wrath removed the cocoon, revealing the little girl's small face, with a mixed look of anger and fear. "I learned of a better way, I could have changed society. I learned that I could have changed it by leading by example. By becoming a hero, and showing the world how a hero should act, instead of killing those I deemed unworthy of the title. So yes, just like that, I surrender." Stain said, raising his hands up in the air, allowing Scythe to go run for Ruby, Weiss, Todoroki, and Rei, just as the police came and aimed their weapons at him.
"Scythe are you okay?" Ruby asked, looking her over. "It doesn't seem like you're injured. Ah, what is that?" Ruby questioned spotting Wrath.
"That's my symbiote friend Wrath." Scythe smiled scratching Wrath's head, making her purr like a cat.
"Scythe, are you over your PTSD of symbiotes?" Ruby inquired.
"Looks like she is." Weiss smiled looking Ruby over. "Hey, symbiotes are able to heal scars right?"
"Yeah, why?" Scythe inquired, as Wrath nuzzled into the crook of her neck.
"Then wouldn't you be able to have your scars tended to?" Weiss asked. "Wouldn't Wrath be able to remove the scars?"
"She would, but I told her when we bonded that I don't want her healing any major scars. I like to think of them as Medals of Honor, proving I survived, and grew even stronger." Scythe said.
"Always so philosophical with you." Todoroki chuckled.
"C'mon little lady." Rei said, grabbing Scythe by the arm and dragging her off. "I don't care if your symbiote is able to heal injuries. I'm still taking you to the hospital to get looked at, and to get you proper sleep. Weiss told me about your self-destructive behavior, with forcing yourself to stay awake, an' I am not putting up with it. The doctors will agree with me."
"Aw, but granny." Scythe whined.
"End of discussion young lady." Rei exclaimed.
"You were around Scythe's age when she had her breakdown right?" Weiss asked, whispering to Todoroki as to not alert Rei or Scythe about their conversation.
"Yeah, I was seven, what about it?" Todoroki questioned.
"I think, Rei might be using Scythe as an excuse to make up for lost experiences she didn't have with you." Weiss chuckled resting her head on his shoulder, which he rested his head on hers. "I can tell she really wanted to be part of the major events of your life, like getting into middle school, high school, even when you got a girlfriend. Which I dare say, you have quite the catch."
"I do, don't I?" Todoroki questioned, with a raised eyebrow and a teasing tone of his voice.
"You've even started to show more emotions other than brooding and bitterness since we met, and you made up with your mom." Weiss chuckled. "I think I like this new you. It suits you way better than your old persona."
"You might be right." Todoroki chuckled, before moving her away. "C'mon, we'd better move before the media surrounds us and tries to squeeze some stories out of us. I can already tell that they're piecing together a love scandal from how they're looking at us."
"Agreed." Weiss said, as they slipped through the crowd of police and heroes, catching up with Rei and Scythe.
~Hosu General: Next Day~
"Did you sleep Xiao Long?" Todoroki questioned, standing next to Scythe's hospital bed.
"No, not really, I couldn't sleep because my mind keeps racing to how one of my nightmares is finally over." Scythe exclaimed.
"I figured that might be the case." Todoroki sighed. "However, the doctor's won't discharge you until you're full rested and recovered."
"Why exactly do I need to be in the hospital for my sleep deprivation?" Scythe questioned.
"Yes." Todoroki simply said.
"You passed out when Rei was bringing you here, from over exertion and a lack of sleep. So this is needed." Weiss stated.
"You should be proud of yourself though. You fought the Hero Killer, and changed his way of thinking, all without using your Quirk against him. By all rights, you should get full credit, and nothing but a pardon from the police, since you followed the law." Todoroki stated.
"You even defeated Adam Taurus, Stain's copycat. Though you might be in trouble since you did use your flames against him." Weiss added.
"Actually I didn't." Scythe said, turning over in her hospital bed. "Hidden in the hilts of my weapons are small igniters, the sparks from those igniters, when mixed with a certain combination of chemicals created a replication of my flames."
"That's ingenious." Weiss smiled.
"How about you Iida, you doing alright?" Todoroki asked, turning to the class rep, with an inquisitive look on his face. "Stain was actually trying to murder you. Are you feeling all right?"
"I'll be fine." Iida said, sitting on his bed, both arms in a sling. "Just thinking over some things I had done. An' perhaps I could have benefited from thinking a little more clearly."
"You were grieving over your brother's injuries. Anyone would have reacted that way if they were in your shoes." Weiss stated. "We're just glad that you're alive."
"Scythe. I heard you have a symbiote partner like Gwen now, where is it?" Iida asked looking to his fellow hospital room mate.
"She was… taken from me when I was passed out apparently." Scythe sighed, turning over to look at him. "Wrath was originally part of Carnage before becoming my symbiote after gaining her own will and intellect."
"So the police all thought it a good idea to remove her from Scythe, and detain her. Even though she helped with taking down Stain's copycat." Todoroki stated.
"I'm sorry to hear that." Iida said.
Before they could talk anymore, the hospital room door opened up to show Manual, and Gran Torino were coming in.
"Oh, so the youngins are awake." Gran Torino said.
"Hi Torino. You look a lot different from when I last saw you." Scythe said turning over in her bed.
"Same with you kid." Torino chuckled.
"Manual." Iida said, his gaze filled with guilt.
"Idiot." Torino sighed. "I could yell at you for hours right now if you weren't Ryukyu's intern; honestly with how reckless you were. Seriously, you're just as bad as your grandfather."
"Sorry." Scythe sighed.
"But before I do, you got a visitor." Torino said turning to look at the door.
"We'll just stand here quietly in the corner." Weiss said as she and Todoroki stepped to the side.
Scythe and Iida looked to the door as a tall man wearing a black suit with a Dalmatian spotted tie. But the most shocking thing about him was his Quirk, it was a mutation type, so it gave him the head of a dog. Behind him was Rei in her Ice-Queen costume.
"This is Hosu's chief of police, Kenji Tsuragamae." Torino stated, turning back to the bed, only to find Scythe was gone. "Uh where did she go?" He questioned.
Weiss coughed into her hand, gaining his attention before she pointed to under the bed. Torino looked down and saw a pair of emerald green eyes skeptically looking at the chief with what sounded like a feline growl coming from it.
"Seriously? I get some of your mutation is cat, but come on, are you really that nervous around canine?" Torino questioned.
"Oh my." Rei chuckled.
"It's fine Torino. Woof." Kenji chuckled. "Perhaps this will get her to trust me more."
Kenji pulled a small glass canister from his pocket and inside was a very recognizable symbiote of violet and black hue.
"We've deemed this symbiote unnecessary for prosecuting Adam Taurus and Stain, so Ms. Xiao Long, is free to have it back." Kenji said, setting the canister on the ground in front of Scythe, who reached her arms out and took it.
"Her name is Wrath. She's not an, it." Scythe said crawling out from under the bed and sitting back up on the mattress. "Thank you though."
Scythe opened the canister, and instantly Wrath sprung out and merged with her once more.
"It's so good to be back with you." Wrath smiled, poking her head out from Scythe's shoulder.
"You to Wrath." Scythe smiled, scratching her head, making the symbiote purr like a cat.
"Now down to business." Kenji said gaining their attention again. "So, you're the U.A students who got the Hero Killer to surrender."
"No sir. It was her, just her." Iida said, directing his attention to Scythe.
"Uh, me?" Scythe asked, looking nervous as all attention was on her now.
"Stain has some minor injuries. A few cracked ribs, some minor burns, and a few cuts here and there on his arms and face." Kenji said. "Right now he's under strict guard, getting his injuries tended to. Here's a lesson you should have already learned young lady. When Quirks became the norm, the police force sought to maintain the status quo. We decided we wouldn't use Quirks as weapons. That's when Heroes came in, they could do what we couldn't, if they were licensed of course, woof. It would be impossible for the police to condone the use of deadly Quirks, after all we're here to stop such harm from being done. The only reason why pros can use their powers now, is by the strict code of ethics that the early heroes chose to abide by. That's why it's against the law for uncertified people to use their Quirks to cause injury. Whether you were up against the Hero Killer or not, you didn't have the authority to harm the villain. That means you, and your supervisor, Ryukyu, should receive harsh punishment for this gross misuse of your powers."
"Now hold on a minute Fido." Weiss exclaimed, both her and Todoroki looking more than a bit upset.
"Weiss, Todoroki, stand down." Rei exclaimed.
"No mom." Todoroki stated. "Scythe didn't use her Quirk against Stain or Adam Taurus. She simply used her skills and natural strength in those fights, and she had Wrath's help. If she had done nothing then both Native and Iida would be dead."
"So it's okay to break the law as long as it goes your way?" Kenji questioned.
"Sometimes you gotta break the rules to do what's right." Weiss exclaimed.
"Easy kids. You might wanna hear him out on the rest first, before you go making up your mind about him." Torino stated.
"What I've said is the official stance at the police department. Of course, punishment would be unnecessary given evidence, and testimony from Stain proved you didn't use your Quirk against him, you only used it to evade his attacks. After examining your weapons, we found the igniters and the switch to trigger the chemical release at the same time as the sparks." Kenji said. "Due to a news chopper, your fight against Stain was broadcast all across Japan, so it's impossible for the police to cover the capture of Stain as a pro heroes doing. An' since everyone would most likely recognize you from the Sports Festival, it wouldn't be hard to put together what actually happened. So this is going to be the official story. During the incident with the other Nomu, Ryukyu had directed you to search the back alleys of the streets to find anyone else who needed to be evacuated. Afterwards, you stumbled upon Stain as he was about to kill Native and the U.A student, your classmate, and stopped him before getting them to safety, while also forced into facing off against him in battle."
"That would mean Scythe would have to share the credit with Ryukyu's Agency for taking down Stain and his copycat, and would be hounded by the media for a while, wanting answers as to how she did it, why she did it, and if she had any ulterior motives behind her actions." Rei exclaimed.
"Either way I'll still need to take responsibility for being negligent as Tenya's supervisor." Manual sighed.
"Ruby won't get in trouble, and I won't need to take any responsibility, because she started following Ryukyu's orders not long after you left the scene. But for some strange reason the Nomu defeated turned to dust, like they were made of sand after they had been mortally wounded." Torino stated.
Scythe looked over to Weiss, and saw the dumbfounded look on her face. Apparently she was the only one, who hadn't been aware of the Nomu sharing a connection with Grimm.
Iida stepped up to Manual and bowed to him in respect and regret.
"I'm sorry. I should have listened." Iida said.
"Yeah. You caused us a lot of trouble." Manual said, lightly chopping the top of his head.
"Wait a minute. You said the entire fight, had been broadcast across all Japan?" Scythe questioned, going pale a bit.
"Yes I did. Is something the matter?" Kenji questioned.
"I think I might know what it is." Torino chuckled as Scythe's scroll began to ring, showing the caller ID to be Yang.
"You might wanna answer her Scythe. Don't wanna make things worse than they already are." Rei sighed.
Scythe picked up her Scroll, and looked at the ID, not wanting to answer, but knowing if she didn't it would just make things worse, and make Yang worry more. Answering the call, Scythe brought the Scroll up to her ear.
"Hey mom." She said nervously.
"SCYTHE XIAO LONG." Yang's voice called out loud from the Scroll, even Kenji had to cover his ears. "Are you hurt, please tell me it's nothing serious. I don't know how much my heart could take if you were in the hospital because you were stabbed, or you were impaled, or you lost another limb or…"
"Mom, I'm fine." Scythe said. "I'm sorry for worrying you. I've just been administered to the hospital, because Rei found out about my, self-destructive habits. I passed out from over exertion and sleep deprivation, but that's it, and it was after the fighting ended. I promise you, the doctor's say I should be able to leave tomorrow evening at the latest, if I get some more rest."
"Alright. I'm glad you're recovering quickly." Yang sighed in relief. "Honestly, what am I going to do with a little troublemaker like you?"
"I don't know." Scythe sighed with a chuckle, before Rei motioned for her to hand to Scroll over. "Hold on mom, Rei's here, and she's wanting to talk." Scythe said before handing the communications device to Rei.
The Ice-Queen left to speak with Yang out in the hall, which gave Scythe a sigh of relief.
"Don't relax just yet. You've got something else coming your way kid." Torino said opening the door and sticking his head out. "Alright, bring them in."
Scythe's eyes went blank, as her bed was suddenly surrounded by get well gifts, a few boxes, cards, and envelopes stacked up, completely covering her side table.
"What's… all this?" Scythe questioned.
"Gifts and other such things from the families of the Hero Killer and his copycat's victims. When they most likely heard you were in the hospital after the fight against them, they must have thought to send you these, to show their appreciation for you getting justice for their fallen loved ones." Kenji exclaimed.
"Ooh, chocolate." Wrath smiled, as Scythe grabbed the bar and opened it.
"Eat up Wrath." Scythe chuckled. "Better than brains huh?"
"Definitely." Wrath smiled, munching on the sweet dairy treat.
"Well, now that we've got the formalities out of the way, our business is done here." Torino said, turning to leave before stopping. "Almost forgot. Here's a little something from me to." Torino stated, handing Scythe an envelope that looked rather thick. "Consider it a thank you, for saving my sworn friend's life."
Scythe peered into the envelope, and her eyes nearly bugged out.
"Can you even afford to give me this much Yen? It had to have come out of your retirement funds." Scythe questioned.
"I'm a retired hero, who used to own one of the most successful agencies back in my day, and I still get paid for doing hero work from time to time. I think I can afford to give you a Million Yen." Torino chuckled heading out. "It should cover expenses for if and when you decide to take a trip I-Island, there and back, plus souvenirs."
"Yeah like twenty times." Scythe exclaimed. "Are you sure you wanna give me this much?"
"Kid. The life of my friend, the one you saved, is worth more than I could ever hope to repay. This is the least I can do." Torino stated.
Scythe was silent, as Gran Torino left the room, in stunned silence with Kenji following close behind. After all that went down. Scythe decided to open some of the get well gifts she's received from the families.
"Hey look, this one's from your family Iida." Scythe said grabbing the card on the box.
"Really, what does the card say?" Iida questioned.
"It says, 'thank you for getting justice for my eldest son, I hope you recover quickly, and that you're all right. P.S. Tensei doesn't know whether to scorn or be proud of you.' Sounds like the need for following proper rules runs in the family." Scythe joked opening the box after putting the card down. "That certainly sounds like big bro alright."
"Big bro?" Weiss asked, helping her to organize the mess of gifts.
"Yeah. After our first encounter with him, Tensei insisted I call him big bro, especially since he would sometimes take me on patrol with him through the city when mom and mama were busy at the dojo." Scythe exclaimed. "You should have heard him over the phone when mom told him about my run in with Ochuna, I had no idea he could curse like a sailor."
"So that's why he got a punching bag, and tapped that criminal's face to it." Iida said in realization.
"Him to huh? Gunhead was the same and tapped Ochuna's mugshot to his favorite punching bag at the dojo." Scythe chuckled. "Though you should have heard big bro Tensei when we told him I got into U.A. He sounded so proud and happy, and he wouldn't stop talking about how I might be classmates with you Iida."
"Hmph." Iida smiled. "That's Tensei for you."
"So what's in the box?" Todoroki questioned, cleaning up the ribbons and wrapping paper of some of the gifts.
"Looks like an Ingenium styled tank top." Scythe said pulling the shirt out. "Other than that, it looks like a helmet of some kind."
Iida walked over and peered into the box, his eyes widening upon seeing what it was.
"That's Tensei's helmet from his hero costume." Iida said. "It's fully repaired and everything."
"There's a note with it." Scythe said. "Take good care of my helmet, and please be safe. You nearly gave me a heart attack when I saw you on the news, I don't wanna be in the hospital for longer than I have to because of you, I might stop by your room and visit later. Big Bro Tensei." Scythe read aloud.
"That's right, Tensei's in the same hospital isn't he?" Weiss asked.
"He was transferred here from the ICU after his condition stabilized." Iida confirmed. "We both might be in for a bit of a lecture from him I'm afraid."
"It's fine. His lectures aren't as scary as mom's, mamas or even… Grandma Kali's." Scythe said, shivering at the thought of getting a lecture from her and, Mr. Paddle. "Scary, too scary."
~Fourth Kind's Agency~
"Oh man, so that's why I only got a text of coordinates from her last night. I hope she's doing okay, her and Iida both." Kirishima said looking at his phone as he and Tetsutetsu were preparing for their day working with Fourth Kind.
"Hey put that away before Fourth Kind sees you, we're gonna be late." Tetsutetsu said.
"Hang on a sec will you? My friends are in the hospital after a run in with the Hero Killer I just wanna make sure they're okay." Kirishima said before sidestepping, avoiding to a punch from Fourth Kind, Tetsutetsu wasn't so lucky. "Man those lessons Blake has been giving me are really paying off."
"What did I say about punctuality?" Fourth Kind questioned turning to Kirishima.
"Sorry sir, it's just some friends of mine were caught in the middle of the action with the Hero Killer and his copycat, I was just worried and wanted to see if they were alright." Kirishima said.
"I see." Fourth Kind said.
Fourth Kind is a big muscular man wearing a suit, with four arms, and one gold ring on each finger and thumb, giving him a total of twenty rings.
"C'mon, time to patrol." Fourth Kind said.
"Man you gotta teach me how to do that." Tetsutetsu said. "How'd you know his hit was coming?"
"Don't ask me, I don't entirely understand it, you'd have to go to Blake for that. She's Scythe's other mom." Kirishima stated.
"Lucky bastard." Tetsutetsu growled.
