Serena's eyeslids fluttered open as the winter sunlight streamed into their cave, casting a eerie atmosphere within their temporary shelter. Blinking a few times, the honey-blonde sat up against the cave wall while rubbeing the last of sleep away from her eyes before stretching out her muscles.

Looking around, she smiled seeing everyone else was still sleeping peacefully within the cave. Serena chuckled softly before moving carefully past everyone until she made herself to the entrance of the cave getting a good view of her surroundings. Outside, snow had piled up on the branches of the barren trees and the snow sparkled like crystals in the morning sun. Closing her eyes, Serena inhaled deeply the frigid air chilling her lungs while her skin soaked up of the weak sun.

Goosebumps crawled it's way up her skin as a brisk breeze swept past her, jostling her short hair slightly. But despite the cold weather around her, Serena couldn't help but softly smile. Her light blue eyes seemed to glisten with hope of the new day. She felt her energy renewed and confidence soaring high into the clouds above. The honey-blonde clenched her fists in a tight balls feeling determination running through her veins while making a promise to herself that she was going to find Ash. Maybe not today but she was going to find him again, no matter what it takes.

Giovanni was in deep thought as he sat in one of the many helicopters that were heading to Base D which was narrowly avoided from being exposed thanks to Agent Phantom's ruthlessness. But he couldn't help but scowl in irritation, Lysandre had still refused to join Team Rainbow Rocket. If it wasn't the escape it was the little stunt the orange-haired man had pulled in his office that drove the point home. Giovanni could still feel his punched jaw and ribs aching slightly from the brief assault Lysandre managed to do onto him during the prisoner's escape. The dark-haired man inwardly scoffed, Lysandre was a lost cause, even if he was unknowingly aiding them. No use of wasting precious resources on him.

Now, Giovanni needed to figure out how to fill the gap that is left in their organization. Once they reached their new base, Giovanni figured that Team Aqua shall take Hoenn while Team Magma could take Kalos with what little grunts and scientists he managed to gather from what was left of Team Flare. He didn't feel comfortable sending two teams that were previous rivals over to Hoenn. That is just a disaster waiting to happen. Team Galactic shall obviously be placed in the Sinnoh along with Team Plasma in Unova with some backup aid from Team Rocket. He didn't want to make the same mistake twice in Unova. But Giovanni couldn't help but ponder over the Alola Region. He couldn't send Team Rocket there since that would leave Kanto and Johto vulnerable nor any of the other organizations since they already have their own regions to worry about.

That was when an idea suddenly came to his mind.

He smirked maliciously as he remembered some interesting information that he came across before Agent Jessie, James and Meowth rebelled against him. There is a villainous gang of thugs in the Alola Region known as Team Skull lead by a punk that went by the name of Guzma. Humming in thought and sitting up straighter, Giovanni picked up one of the phones next to his chair while typing in a few numbers. The other end was silent for a few seconds before a female voice came over, "Yes, Giovanni sir? What do you enquire about?"

The Team Rainbow Rocket leader smiled hearing his secretary voice, "Ah yes Matori. I want you to change my current transport course in the Alola Region. I have some very important business to discuss there in Po Town, on Ula'ula Island."

"Yes sir, the course heading has been changed like instructed. Any further more orders sir?" Giovanni smirked, now that he thought of it there was something, "There is one more thing you can do for me. I want to go to our previous underlings base in Alola. See if you can find anything of perhaps value. I have a suspicious feeling those three idiots were hiding something. Make sure you find it and take it to Base D afterward. That's all for now." With that the dark-haired man placed the phone down next to him, cutting off the connection.

Giovanni leaned back in his leather chair gazing out of the window, smirking savagely, 'Everything is falling into place perfectly. Soon the world will be mine with no one to stop me.'

Lysandre never felt such an urge to bang his head against the wall, how could he have been so stupid!? Of course, the kid wouldn't have stayed put when asked, even in his condition. His Ash Ketchum! Too darn stubborn for his own good. Just like Delia, she never ever listened or cared about her personal safety.

He snorted thinking about the one time she even jumped off a cliff to rescue a falling Weedle. That is actually how he met her. He happened to be at the bottom of that cliff when she landed on top of him cradling the little bug Pokemon, even to this day his back still hurts. But did she care about the fact she almost got herself hurt or worse killed!? Nope. She was too busy fussing over the Weedle's safely!

Lysandre huffed as he walked into the lounge area where Ash's friends were waiting. But to his surprise he only saw Jessie and James sitting on one of the leather couches, both for some reason blushing a deep shade of red. Deciding to ignore it, the man walked forward to the duo, "Where are the others?"

Jessie shrugged, "Not sure. The two twerps were looking out of the window before they rushed out of here for some reason. Don't know why though. How is the big twerp though?" Lysandre sighed heavily, rubbing his forehead, "I wouldn't know. When I went to check up on him again he was gone."

"Gone? Where could he have gone?" asked James staring at Lysandre in surprise. The orange-haired man sneered, replying with his voice dripping heavily in sarcasm, "I don't know. Maybe he went to go for a walk in the park to get ice cream." Lysandre wasn't one for sarcasm but he wasn't really in a good mood, especially with Ash's little stunt earlier.

Jessie scowled in irritation not appreciating the tone the orange-haired man used, "Hey! It's not our fault. Besides, shouldn't we worry where the other two twerps went before we find the big twerp? They might be able to help us find him." Lysandre slowly blinked a few times. He honestly forgot about the other two, "Wait, what?"

James nodded in agreement, "Yes we already told you Carrothead, remember? The two were looking out of the window before they rushed out of here." Lysandre eyebrows furrowed together in confusion wondering why the duo would leave like that, "Which window?"

"That one behind you," directed Jessie pointing her finger. Lysandre took a peek out of said window looking around outside for a few seconds not quite sure he was looking for. However, as his eyes caught a glimpse of something, Lysandre groaned in frustration and facepalmed, now he knew where Tasha and Gary went.

'Oh great, why do I have to deal with this shit?'

Ash felt exhausted from running. He was bending down with his hands placed on his knees while heavily panting and every muscle in his body ached. Granted, the raven-haired boy wasn't unfit, okay maybe a little from being lazy in Alola, but he had run much further distances without breaking a sweat.

Thinking back, Ash remembered Lysandre had said that he had been sleeping for three days which could be the culprit. Wiping the built-up moisture from his forehead, the boy winced as he stood up straight taking in his surroundings. Looking behind him, the trainer saw Cameron Palace in the far distance possibly a few kilometers away. Of course, the boy felt bad leaving like he did but he needed to do this without getting anyone else involved.

Seeing that no one had followed them, Ash breathed a sigh of relief and smiled up at the electric mouse on his shoulder, the former watching his trainer with a critical eyes and starting to feel regret that he agreed with the boy in the first place since the kid was clearly worn out, "Well buddy looks like we managed to escape Lysandre."

"Who escaped who?"

Ash sprung a few feet in the air and whipped around fearing he had been caught. However, instead of seeing the orange-haired man as he had expected, he saw Tasha and Gary standing a few feet away from him, both smirking. The raven-haired trainer chuckled nervously looking upwards and scratched the back of his head, "Well, erm, no one?"

Gary rolled his eyes, "Sure and Pignites can learn fly. You not the best of liers Ashy-boy. Let us guess you were planning on heading back to the Tree of Beginning by yourself to do something, right?" Ash looked ready to argue but shook his head dismissing the idea, no use of denying it. They had him, "Yes, okay I am but please don't tell the others when you head back. I got to do this alone."

Tasha scoffed crossing her arms, "We won't be able to tell them anyways since we will be coming with you to make sure that you aren't planning on doing anything stupid." Ash scowled wanting to protest against that idea but Gary cut him off, "We coming with Ashy-boy, whether you like it or not. Besides, who knows what trouble you can into without us."

The raven-haired boy huffed, "I can take care of myself perfectly fine without getting into trouble!" Pikachu even gave his trainer a disbelieving look for that one. Ash mentality sighed while dropping his shoulders in defeat, he hated it when he was outnumbered, "Fine you can come with!"

The blonde coordinator smiled, "See? That wasn't hard. Now let's go before those two singing clowns and that overprotective bodyguard of yours catches up with us. Although, I have to admit it was easy to ditch the two idiots." Ash coughed awkwardly, if Jessie and James heard that comment it wouldn't have been pretty, "Right, erm, so let's go before anything else happens?"

"Right Ashy-boy lead the way," offered Gary, gesturing his hand forward. Ash grinned widely while pumping his fist into the air finally feeling excitement since well this whole mess started. He was going to met Lucario again, "Great! Tree of Beginning here we come!"

That is a wrap, sorry for the short Serena part but dont worry I have more of her and the others coming.

But quick question, what ice type Pokemon do you think would suit Serena best? (I need to start building up her team, especially with what I have planned for everyone. Hehehe.)

Let me know when you review in the comments. Thanks for reading and Petrolhead1 drifting away.
