CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE: BATTLE OF THE DRAGONS, PART 3
"Insanity! Casey Hyodo has declared his own 1-on-2 battle against the Twin Dragons! We could be witnessing history!" Chapati exclaimed.
Casey smirked. "Bring it on, tigers." He challenged.
"Show them how it's really done, Casey!" Razi shouted.
"Oh no..." Frosch muttered from the Sabertooth stands.
"You got this, Sting! Show this clown he's messing with the wrong guy!" Lector shouted.
The audience started cheering more. "You think you can take us down? That's a big mistake." Sting said.
"I have no interest in you. My only target is Kyle." Rogue added.
"You beat me and you can take down anyone you want." Casey informed.
Both Sting and Rogue reactivated Dragon Force. "Did you forget that we have control over Dragon Force? There's nothing in the world stronger than a dragon and both of us have their power!" Sting exclaimed. Casey reactivated Dragon Force as well as he blocked Sting's attack.
"I don't think you're all the way there yet, pal." Casey said.
"This is the power of a true Dragon Slayer! I should know! It's how I killed Weisslogia!" Sting exclaimed.
Casey smirked. "Huh? Is that so? Then I should use the same kind of power..." Casey started to say as a blast of ice appeared behind him. "That I use to fight for my girlfriend you laughed at!" Casey finished as he punched Sting in the face with ice as he flew back. Rogue then appeared.
"Whoa! Look out!" Snow shouted.
"Behind you, Casey!" Claire added.
"Shadow Dragon's... Roar!" Rogue shouted as it headed for Casey.
Casey turned around. "Ice Dragon's... Roar!" He shouted as his attacked overpowered Rogue's.
"I'm not done with you!" Sting yelled.
"Frosch, don't worry... I'm not giving up now!" Rogue said.
Casey clenched his fist. "Come and get me." He challenged. Both Sting and Rogue headed for their opponent.
"Go get him what he's been asking for!" Lector yelled.
"I think he's having fun." Alexander commented.
"He's a remarkable wizard... He can increase his own power against his opponents so the stronger they are the better he performs." Cruz stated as they watched Casey fight Sting and Rogue.
He continued fighting them. Casey then punched Sting. "Wow, nice hit." Aira said. "He's doing what he does best." Razi stated. "So, is Kyle coming back to the fight?" Aira questioned, sweat dropping. Razi also sweat dropped. "I bet when he does he's not going to be happy about all of this." He said.
"What the hell's going on down there?" Orga exclaimed from the Sabertooth stands.
"I have no memory of the Dragon Force overwhelmed in such a way." Rufus stated.
"Nor do I." Minerva agreed.
Casey then punched both Sting and Rogue. "Now, Sting!" Rogue shouted as he made a shadow ball appear. "Yeah!" Sting agreed as he summoned a white ball. Casey just watched as he stood right where he was.
"Holy cow, what's going on?" Chapati questioned.
"Looks like they're doing what you call a Unison Raid. It's what you might call fusion magic. It's generally considered to be an advanced technique that you can spend your entire life training and never master it." Yajima explained.
"What's happening?" Snow questioned.
"Idiot... Does he think he can block an attack like that?" Claire stated.
"Holy Shadow Dragon's Flash Fang!" Sting and Rogue shouted, pumping their fists forward. The attack headed straight for Casey as he thought about what happened before the battle started.
(Flashback)
"Casey, hold up." Carter said.
Casey turned around. "You guys can talk, I'm going in." Kyle said as he headed out.
"Something you need, Carter?" Casey asked.
"No, not really." Carter stated.
"Oh, okay." Casey said as he headed into the arena. "Well, it's showtime."
"Hold on." Carter suddenly said as Casey stopped. "I'm not gonna say anything. You know what I mean, don't you?"
Casey turned around and smirked. "Yeah, I hear ya... partner." He said.
Carter had tears in his eyes as he placed his paw on his back where his guild mark was. Casey did the same thing as he followed Kyle out into the arena.
(End Flashback)
Everyone in Raven's Moon had their hand against their marks. "Holy Shadow Dragon's Flash Fang!" Sting and Rogue shouted, pumping their fists forward. The attack headed straight for Casey as a tear escaped his right eye, thinking about Sakura, Carter, and his guild. He leaned back as ice appeared from his hand.
"Dragon Slayer's Secret Art!" Casey shouted. "Fire And Ice: Frozen Flames!" He shouted as ice appeared in front of him. The ice ended up breaking apart as black flames appeared and overpowered Sting and Rogue's Unison Raid, shaking the whole arena.
The lacrimas came back up as the audience saw Rogue fall first. "Casey Hyodo... Your power knows no balance." He thinks to himself.
Sting fell to his knees as he was falling to the ground. "Sorry, Lector... I failed. He's... too strong." Sting thought. Both Sting and Rogue fell to the ground.
"Unbelievable... The last man standing is Raven's Moon Casey Hyodo!" Chapati said as Casey cheered. "Let's hear it for Raven's Moon Casey Hyodo who singlehandedly defeated Sabertooth's Twin Dragons!" Chapati said.
"They've moved into first place! What an amazing day to end day four at the Grand Magic Games. We're giving the finals a day off and then it's on to the final match! Only one guild gets the title, folks! So, you won't want to miss it!" Chapati exclaimed as Raven's Moon appeared on top of the scoreboard.
"I just knew the Ravens would end up on top!" Master Bob exclaimed.
"There's no doubt about it... They're a wild bunch." Master Goldmine said.
"Thanks to this big turn around we're gonna have to beat them instead!" Ooba exclaimed.
Master Ailey smirked. "Bring it." She challenged.
"Raven's Moon is going down!"
"Watch out, Alexander. I'm coming." Lyon said.
"My target is Kyle." Jura added.
"Cruz." Kagura muttered.
"Let's fight Casey." Ren stated.
Meanwhile, Lector was crying. Then, Frosch started crying as well. "I can't believe they both got their butts handed to them by just one guy." Orga stated. Rufus chuckled. "It was fascinating to watch. I've fully committed it to memory." He said.
"I'm gonna have a lot of fun holding this over their heads for a while." Orga commented.
"Perhaps you will. Of course, that's assuming they have that long." Minerva said.
Casey walked over to Sting and Rogue as he smiled. "Let's fight again sometime!" He said.
Somewhere up in the stands, a woman with long dark brown hair and golden blonde highlights wearing a black cloak was watching the match. She let a tear out of her eye as she left the stands.
Raven's Moon infirmary...
Casey walked into the infirmary after his battle. "Hey, Princess. How have you been feeling?" He asked.
"A little bit better." Sakura replied. She sat up on her bed. "That cheering that I heard. You must've won, huh?"
"Damn right I did." Casey replied. "As usual, I let my emotions get the best of me. And also Kyle is probably going to kick my ass later for pushing him into a mine cart. But I had to teach those 'real Dragon Slayers' as they call themselves, a lesson."
Sakura chuckled. "I'm just glad you're okay."
"I should head back. Everyone else probably wants to celebrate our win." Casey informed. "Are you you'll be alright here alone?"
Sakura nodded. "Go celebrate. You deserve it."
Casey walked up to her and kissed her gently on her head. "If you say so. I'll come back to visit you soon." He said. He turned to his partner who was next to him. "Let's go, Carter."
"Right." Carter agreed as both him and Casey headed out of the infirmary.
As they headed out of the arena, a cloaked stranger bumped into Casey. "Excuse me." The stranger said, quickly rushing past him.
"That voice... It seems familar." Casey thought.
It might've been Casey's imagination, but he could've sworn he saw a cherry Raven's Moon guild mark on the stranger's right shoulder.
Nighttime...
A cloaked stranger quickly moved throughout Crocus. "Halut." Jellal said from behind them as the stranger stopped. "I'll reveal myself to you if you do the same." Jellal said as removed his disguise.
"Damn it..." The stranger thought. "I tried so hard to avoid this guy... No going back now."
They slowly removed their hood as they turned around. Jellal looked at them. "You're that Fire God Slayer from Raven's Moon. Sakura Rio." Jellal stated.
"True." She said. "Though I'm Sakura from seven years into the future."
"From the future?" Jellal questioned. "Wait, if you're here... that means something must happened in the future that you're trying to prevent."
Future Sakura looked away. "It's dreadful." She muttered.
"Sakura..." Jellal was now serious. "What exactly happens seven years into the future?"
Future Sakura muttered some words that only Jellal could hear, leaving him in shock.
A/N: There you go!
Also, if you couldn't tell I decided to scrap the whole future kids thing. Mostly because I didn't know where to go with that idea.
Hope you enjoyed!
