Mama Yang Hero Academia-32
In the monitor room of the exam building, Scythe, Weiss, and Ruby were standing, watching the monitors with Recovery Girl at the helm.
"Well, looks like I've got my work cut out for me today." She said.
"Ruby what are you doing here? I thought you were strategizing with Bakugo?" Weiss questioned.
"I was, an' we actually came up with a strategy that is a sure fire way to work." Ruby said, a confident smile on her face.
"I don't trust that look." Scythe said, eyeing her skeptically.
"You might wanna De-Argonaut yourself and conserve your energy for when we fight against Yang." Weiss suggested.
"Good idea." Scythe said, before returning to child form.
"Oh, hey guys, you're watching to?" Uraraka questioned coming into the monitoring room.
"Yeah, Scythe and I will be strategizing while we watch each fight." Weiss exclaimed.
"An' I already formed a strategy with my partner. What about you? Why aren't you strategizing with your partner?" Ruby questioned.
"This is Aoyama we're talking about." Uraraka stated. "He's more concerned with how sparkly his costume is."
"True." Ruby sighed.
"Quiet, the fight is about to begin." Scythe exclaimed looking up at the monitor.
"Team Sato and Kirishima. Practical Exam, ready, go." The announcer called out, signalling for the match to begin in an urban setting.
"So what do you think? We'll definitely get a higher score for capturing instead of running, you agree?" Kirishima questioned.
"Yeah that makes sense." Sato said, before both men jumped back, evading a wall of concrete popping up in front of them. Far on the other end of the street, was Cementous, with his usual demeanor at the ready.
"Mr. Cementous can't move very fast. Let's break through the front and shoot for a high score." Kirishima said, activating his Quirk, as Sato downed ten grams of sugar.
"Ah yeah." Sato agreed downing the sugar, before they both went charging at Cementous.
"So you've decided on a direct frontal assault." Cementous exclaimed, causing multiple walls to form in front of him, blocking their path.
"This is it Sato." Kirishima shouted.
"Let's go." Sato screamed.
After breaking down the first hurdle, Kirishima and Sato continued to punch their way through, but it was a fruitless effort as Cementous kept making more barriers and putting them in the duo's path.
"Not so fast kids." Cementous said.
Back in the monitoring room, Uraraka was cheering them on.
"C'mon you guys, you've totally got him." Uraraka stated.
"They're not gonna win it like this." Ruby said.
"Huh?" Uraraka questioned.
"She's right. Going in for a frontal assault against Mr. Cementous, is not a smart move. Think about where they are. They're in an urban area, surrounded by concrete and asphalt. The entire battlefield is his arsenal, and they're just playing his game at this point." Weiss stated.
"Both Kirishima and Sato's Quirks are amazing yes, but there's a limit to how long they can use them. Mr. Cementous doesn't have that kind of time limit." Ruby continued. "The more time that passes by, the more of a disadvantage they're at."
"That's not good." Uraraka stated.
"It's no coincidence they're matched up. Mr. Aizawa is pitting students against teachers he knows they'll have a hard time against." Weiss stated.
"To pass, we'll not only have to recognize our weaknesses, we'll have to overcome them as well." Ruby finished.
"Exactly right." Recovery Girl said. "So before it's time for your final, you should think carefully about your compatibility with the teacher you're fighting."
It wasn't long before both Kirishima and Sato had reached their limits, and were enveloped by Cementous's attack, trapping them in their cement prisons.
"Sato and Kirishima have been knocked out. Exam over." The announcer said.
"It's only the first match and I'm already needed." Recovery Girl sighed, leaving to give medical aid to the two students who were just taken out.
"No way. It was that one sided?" Uraraka questioned.
"As we suspected, their Quirks were too ineffective against his." Ruby stated.
One by one exams came and went. Tsu and Tokoyami passed, as well as Ojiro and Iida, had passed with barely any time going by, but Scythe had a good laugh when Iida had gotten himself stuck in the ground, and was only a head sticking out of the soil. Yaoyorozu and Todoroki barely managed to pass before time ran out. Uraraka's match went exactly how Ruby thought it would. She noticed how Uraraka realized what she mean when she said to use Thirteen's Quirk against them, and took a gamble by letting go of the railing that kept her from being sucked into Blackhole.
Ashido and Kaminari lost bigtime, they were no match for the might of Principle Nezu's brain, and Scythe learned something very interesting about Nezu that she didn't know before. Koda and Jiro's match didn't go over so smoothly as Present Mic didn't make it easy, in fact his voice was so powerful, even Scythe's ears started to bleed afterwards with hos sensitive to hearing they were, which was something Recovery Girl scolded the DJ Teacher about since he used too much amplification with his power. The match with Hagakure and Shoji facing off against Snipe went as well as Ruby thought it would, though it gave both her and Scythe a laugh seeing how Snipe was trying to plead innocent after his elbow accidentally dug into Hagakure's left breast.
As expected Scythe and all the girls in the monitoring room rolled their eyes, as any guess they came up with during the ninth match, for Mineta wanting to be a hero, was a perverted goal, would be correct, as he was crying blood with how jealous he was of Sero getting to leaning on Midnight's chest, and use her lap as a pillow after he was knocked out. All of them agreed that it was by sheer dumb luck that he was able to pass the way he did.
"Alright, now it's mine and Bakugo's fight against dad." Ruby said exiting the monitoring room. "Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it."
Using her speed, Ruby raced through the halls, to her assigned battle arena, where Bakugo was already waiting.
"It's about time you showed up Rose." Bakugo stated.
"Shut up. Midnight's fight literally just ended. So we've still got a bit of time." Ruby exclaimed, checking over Crescent Rose's functions. "Remember the plan?"
"Yeah I remember." Bakugo said with a bit of a shiver, before their match was signalled to start.
As they walked through the city. Ruby and Bakugo began chatting.
"So, I have to ask. Why do you hate Midoriya so much?" Ruby questioned.
"I don't hate him, alright? I just didn't want to see the nerd get hurt trying to become a hero when he's Quirkless. Turns out I could have done it a different way I suppose." Bakugo exclaimed. "Though it would have really pissed me off, if he had somehow manifested a Quirk from nowhere, or if he had been hiding it from me for all these years, laughing behind my back, thinking he's stronger than me."
"Bakugo…" Ruby began. "There could have been a way, he gained a Quirk a few months ago."
"What are you talking about?" Bakugo questioned.
"Look, I'm not supposed to be telling you this. But the power Yang and I have, the strength and speed we possess similar to our dad's, it wasn't passed on to us through genetics. To Scythe, yes, but to us, no we didn't inherit his power from being naturally born with it." Ruby exclaimed. "The strength and speed we possess similar to his, is a sacred torch handed down from user to user. It could have been passed down to Midoriya if he hadn't attempted suicide that day last year. But, things didn't go that way. Instead the power was passed down to Yang and me."
"What are you talking about Rose? A power that can be transferred? Did you hit your head or did your brain finally snap from all the pressure finals put on it?" Bakugo questioned marching down the street.
"Listen to me I'm…"
Before Ruby could continue with her speech about how she was telling the truth, a large tsunami sized gust of wind came hurling towards them, knocking the duo down to the ground and destroying the surrounding buildings. As the picked themselves up from the ground, they could see the silhouette of All Might marching to them.
"Rose." Bakugo stated.
"On it." Ruby said, running into an alley to find a sniping spot on a building farther away.
"Who really cares if I destroy this city?" All Might's voice echoed from the cloud of dust. "If you think of this as an exam and not a real fight you'll be sorry." All Might exclaimed, before he noticed who alone was standing in front of him. "Hold on, where'd Ruby go?"
All Might got the answer to his question, when something small and rubbery hit the side of his head, forcing him to look down at the ground to his right.
"I see. With the cloud of dust still in the air, she took advantage of that to find a sniping post. Clever girl." All Might exclaimed.
"That's not all ya bastard." Bakugo shouted running up to All Might and setting off three flashbangs in a row in front of All Might's face.
With the Symbol of Peace disoriented, from the flashbangs, Bakugo made a run for it according to the strategy he came up with, alongside Ruby.
'Stupid Rose. Telling me the best course of action would be to run instead of knock him out with one of my stored up attacks. Then again she is All Might's daughter, so if anybody knows his limits better than anyone, it'd be both her and her sister.' Bakugo thought.
"Where do you think you're going?" All Might questioned, appearing next to Bakugo.
Expecting a shocked expression, All Might was surprised to find Bakugo's reaction was a smirk, as if he were expecting his arrival like that, before he held his arms out and blasted himself back away from the Symbol of Peace, allowing All Might to look up, revealing Ruby jumping down from a building's roof, with Crescent Rose in sniper rifle form aimed at him, and a ball of gold and blue energy aimed at him.
"Hope you like electrifying ice." Ruby smirked, taking the shot.
With the dual Dust rounds hitting All Might, he was paralyzed from both an electric shock, and frozen in a block of ice, before Bakugo flipped over him, and upside down, aimed his gauntlet at All Might, and pulled the trigger, knocking the Symbol of Peace out of the ice, and a good distance away, giving the duo a chance to run.
"Damn, they're good. Did Ruby really make this strategy with Young Bakugo? They're certainly keeping me on my toes with how coordinated their attacks are. Guess similar minds really do think alike." All Might exclaimed. "But I wonder how long they can keep me at bay, before I start getting smart to their tactics."
As All Might was preparing to go after them, Bakugo and Ruby were nearing the gate with Crescent Rose still in its rifle form, and Bakugo's left hand on his gauntlet with the single remaining blast attack.
"Is he coming after us?" Bakugo questioned.
"I think he might still be regaining his bearings." Ruby stated looking back, before she spotted All Might coming at them. "Here he comes."
Bakugo instantly turned back, and as All Might approached, he aimed his gauntlet at him. Seeing what was aimed at him, All Might maneuvered to the side, an' to his surprise Bakugo didn't follow with his gauntlet, he was just smirking like they had won.
'What is he up to? Wait, I took my eyes off Ruby an' she's using One-for-All in this fight.' All Might exclaimed turning to the reaper girl, only for his eyes to widen, as he saw her, coming at her using her maximum limit of One-for-All, swinging Crescent Rose like a baseball bat. He noticed the arc and direction of the swing, and realized even with his speed, he wouldn't make it with not only the weights, but also with how much of One-for-All was gone. 'No she wouldn't.'
"Here I come." Ruby shouted, swinging her weapon as hard and fast as she could, hitting All Might where it really hurt, right between the legs, causing his eyes to bug out, and to stop, and fall over in a silent scream of pain.
'She… did…' All Might groaned. Even for him, it would be a while before he could even get up after a hit like that to his manhood.
"Right where the sun don't shine." Bakugo shouted as he and Ruby used their power to race through the gate.
"Team Bakugo and Rose, Win." The announcer called out.
In the monitoring room, the students and Recovery Girl were all looking dumbfounded at what they just saw, but Scythe was just rolling on the ground, laughing her ass off after seeing his aunt's team's final play against Grandpa Toshi.
"That was…" Momo began thinking of a way to describe the fight they just saw. "A bit unorthodox."
"You think All Might will be able to have any more kids after a blow like that?" Uraraka questioned.
"It's a possibility." Tsu said.
"C'mon Scythe, we're next." Weiss said, dragging Scythe along the ground by the arm as she was still laughing. "Damn it we were so engrossed with watching the fights we didn't get a chance to strategize."
"It's okay, I've got a plan." Scythe exclaimed with a chuckle.
"Let's hear it then." Weiss exclaimed.
~Exam Area~
The landscape was pretty boring, as Yang was sitting on the rooftops of a destroyed building with a one of her legs hanging down, swinging a bit, the other propped up with her arm on the leg, chewing and blowing bubble gum. The jacket of her costume, folded over on the ledge of the building, while her mind was still on her conversation with Pixie-Bob over a week ago.
'From his file, Kota is only five years old. I'm not sure, but I think he acts like he hates society, but it's most likely he's really scarred of letting people get close to him, and losing them to a villain, like he did with his parents. I'm not sure, I'd have to interact with him to know for sure.' Yang thought looking up at the sky. 'I wonder if he would get along with Scythe and Eri.'
"Team Bakugo and Xiao Long. Exam begin." The A.I voce called out.
"Well, time to get to work." Yang smirked jumping to her feet, cracking her arms as she stretched her arms up with her fingers interlocked.
Focusing her maximum amount of One-for-All, she leapt from the building's top, soaring through the air to the next building, repeating this action until she spotted both Scythe and her RWBY Teammate. Smirking, Yang leapt from the roof of the last building she landed on, and fell to the ground, bringing up a cloud of dust, in the wasteland arena.
"Look what we have here. A couple of greenhorns who think they have a chance against me." Yang smirked, walking through the cloud of dust. "Let's see what you two are made of."
Scythe and Weiss looked to each other, before they took off to two separate sides, splitting apart.
"Cute." Yang chuckled. "But you're not fast enough to outrun me."
With a burst of speed, focusing One-for-All at her maximum limit, Yang zigzagged, intercepting Weiss, and grabbing her, before charging at Scythe.
The Etherion slayer turned, and bent backwards, evading Yang's hand, going under it, as she grabbed Weiss, and pulled her from Yang's grip.
"Now." Scythe exclaimed.
Yang quickly turned around, before she felt gravity increase on her, and she was brought to her knees as Weiss used her rapier to create a glyph filled with Gravity Dust. In fact the entire revolver part of her weapon was filled with it.
"It won't hold her for long." Weiss said as they began running towards the exit point.
"Clever girls." Yang smirked, before pushing up, using more of One-for-All than her body should be able to handle, but with gravity pulling her down, it balanced out enough for her to be able to jump out of the gravity area, and give chase, reducing the percentage back to what she could safely handle at maximum.
"Scythe, she's gaining on us." Weiss exclaimed.
"Alright you go, I'll keep her occupied." Scythe exclaimed, twisting around on her feet, and slamming her fists together, before going for a head on collision with her mother. She was hoping she could buy enough time for Weiss to get to the exit gate and pass for them both.
"You think you can take me on? You're mistaken my dear daughter." Yang smirked, as their fists collided, creating a shockwave that threw Weiss off balance as she ran.
"I don't have to beat you in order to win." Scythe said, clashing her other fist against Yang's. "I just gotta hold you here, until Weiss goes through the gate, and gets help."
"I see, a divide and conquer strategy." Yang said. "In this case, getting help would mean she passes the exam for both of you, an' since you've been working as a team from the beginning, you both would get the passing grades. But you should know that even with these weights, you have no chance of beating me."
"Maybe. But a hero risks their life every day, despite the odds." Scythe smirked, as she was somehow keeping Yang in a stalemate.
"Spoken like someone who knows how cruel the world is." Yang smirked, closing her eyes.
"I've had my experience." Scythe chuckled. "NOW."
Yang's eyes widened open, before Scythe ducked down, bending backwards, just in time to evade a giant broad sword swinging at Yang. The blonde brawler didn't have time to evade and was struck in the ribcage before she could activate her semblance. While still in the air, Yang felt Scythe appear behind her, grabbing both her wrists, and putting the cuffs on her.
"We did it." Weiss cheered from her place down the road, as Scythe landed on the ground, with Yang in her underarm, before the busty blonde was dropped to the ground, in a position that caused the Etherion wielder to blush.
"Hey Recovery Girl, is Mineta in the monitoring room?" Scythe asked, talking into the communication piece in her ear.
"Yes. He's drooling over the view of your mother's cleavage, from her laying on her stomach." Recovery Girl said. "Other than that, the other boys are turned away with blushes on their cheeks."
"Hand the communication piece to Todoroki please?" Scythe asked, before the half-an-half's voice resonated in her ear.
"What is it Xiao Long?" Todoroki questioned.
"Hey Todoroki, could you freeze Mineta in a block of ice and turn him around?"
"Sure thing." Todoroki said before handing the piece back to Recovery Girl.
"Are any of you injured?" Recovery Girl questioned.
"I've got some straining muscles from my fists colliding with my mom's but other than that no." Scythe exclaimed.
"I'm fine." Weiss stated.
"My chest hurts, but that's just from landing on it." Yang chuckled. "It was a smart divide and conquer tactic, but it wasn't the one you said it was. You deceived me, which is a tool any good hero needs for fighting against a villain, knowing how to draw them away from the truth of their plan. Weiss was your long ranged fighter, I had forgotten about her summonings, which left Scythe to be the close range fighter, and that kept me distracted long enough for Weiss to get into position. You both pass." Yang exclaimed. "Now can you please get me out of these cuffs?"
~Next/Last day of School before Summer Break~
"E-everyone, I'm looking forward to all your stories of how fun, camp was." Ashido exclaimed sounding on the verge of tears while Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sato were all looking down and disappointed.
"Maybe they'll end up letting you go. There might be a last minute twist or something." Scythe said.
"Stop Xiao Long, by saying that out loud you're just jinxing them." Sero stated.
"They said, whoever failed the exams, had to skip summer camp, and go to summer school hell. We didn't pass the practical so we're doomed. Don't you get that Xiao Long, or did you mom knock all your brains out of you?" Kaminari questioned, trying to stab Scythe between the eyes with his fingers, only for it to be caught by Scythe's hand hitting between the fingers.
"Jeez, sorry for trying to be optimistic and making you all smile." Scythe said, pushing his hand away.
"Ease up Kaminari, I'm not sure I'll get to go either. Our team only passed thanks to Mineta." Sero stated.
"Achoo." Mineta sneezed into his mask.
"That cold serves you right for starring at my mom through the monitor." Scythe exclaimed looking down at the sick boy. "I got knocked out, and since we don't know how they're scoring stuff, I might have flunked."
"At least bring us back lots of camp souvenirs please." Kaminari pleaded before the door slid open with a loud thud and everyone was in their seats as Mr. Aizawa walked in.
"Once the bell rings you should be in your seats." Aizawa stated.
The entire class was silent, as if they'd been sitting waiting for him the past five minutes. The only sound being made, was the sound of Mineta sneezing thanks to the cold Todoroki's ice gave him. "Morning. Unfortunately there a few of you who did not pass your final exams, so when it comes to the training camp in the woods. Everyone is going." He said, with a big shit eating grin on his face.
'Tha last minute twist.' Kaminari, Mina, Sato, and Kirishima all thought at the same time.
"We really get to go to camp?" Kirishima questioned.
"Seriously?" Mina asked, tears of joy threatening to fall down her face.
"Yeah. The good news is no one bombed the written exam." Aizawa stated. "Five failed the practical, two teams of course, and then Sero failed as well."
"Ah. Crap I knew it." Sero said, palming his face. "Mineta made it to the gate but I didn't do near enough to pass."
"Allow me to explain." Aizawa stated. "For the practical battles, the teachers made a way for the students to win. Otherwise you never would have stood a chance. We were interested in how you worked together, and approached the task at hand."
"But didn't you promise that the teacher's wouldn't be holding back?" Ojiro questioned.
"That was just to get you on edge. Besides the training camp will focus on building your strength." Aizawa stated.
"Those who failed need those lessons the most. We were never going to separate you." Aizawa stated with another shit eating grin on his face. "That was just a logical deception we used."
"This school seems to use those a lot." Scythe said.
"He tricked us all, I should have expected this." Iida stated. "Mr. Aizawa this is the second time you've lied to us, aren't you afraid we'll lose faith in you?"
"Uh, a little blunt there Tenya." Uraraka stated, with an expressionless look on her face.
"That's a good point. I'll consider it." Aizawa stated. "But I wasn't lying to you about everything. Failure is failure. We've prepared lessons for the five of you, an' frankly they'll be far tougher than what you'd face at summer school."
~Later after final bell~
"This is gonna be great." Ojiro stated holding a pamphlet for the camp. "I'm so glad we're all going together."
"Looks like we'll be at the training camp a full week." Iida exclaimed, reading his own pamphlet.
"I've gotta find a bigger backpack." Ruby said reading over his shoulder.
"Yeah I don't even have a bathing suit." Kaminari stated. "Guess I need to buy some stuff."
"Like night vision goggles." Mineta stated.
"Come creeping over to the girl's side of the baths and they'll never find your body." Weiss glared.
'Looks like she inherited the Bakugo Temper when Venom cocooned and changed her DNA to be the biological daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bakugo.' Scythe chuckled.
"Guys since we're off tomorrow, and we've finally finished exams. I've had the best idea." Hagakure stated. "Why doesn't Class 1-A go shopping together?"
"Hey yeah, we've never hung out as a class before." Kaminari smiled.
"Bakugo, see you there right?" Kirishima questioned.
"I can't think of anything more annoying." Bakugo sighed.
"You're coming whether you like it or not, or do you want me to tell mom I saw you making out with Ruby behind the bleachers of the courtyard at lunch today?" Weiss questioned pulling his ear.
"WHAT THE… WEISS YOU SAW?" Ruby and Bakugo shouted in unison, as that news caught the class's attention, while their faces were as red as Ruby's namesake.
"Fine, I'll come as long as you don't tell mom about that." Bakugo growled, looking away.
"Todoroki you wanna come with?" Scythe asked. "I can buy you something as a thanks for freezing Mineta when I asked you to yesterday."
"I can't, my mom's helping me train in hand to hand combat, it's nice to have a teacher who's not constantly beating on you, and calling it training." Todoroki stated.
"You party poopers, don't you ever get tired of being so serious?" Mineta shouted.
~Next day Shopping Mall~
"Oh man do I love this place. It's a ton of different stores to shop at, and they're all super cool and hip. Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall." Mina cheered as all of Class 1-A was there, plus Pyrrha, who was standing next to Kirishima. Weiss wasn't there, she was training with Todoroki and Rei.
"Wow, they carry designs for all body types and have a range of cares from teens to seniors." Scythe exclaimed in awe.
"Glad to see you're keeping yourself together. An' not freaking out about being here without either of your parents." Tokoyami smiled lightly.
"Whoa aren't those U.A students?" Someone in the crowd shouted out, pointing at them.
"1-A." Another said.
"I saw them on TV." A third called out.
"The Sports Festival was so good." They called out together.
"I can't believe they still remember that." Uraraka stated.
"I wanna track down a new duffle bag, to bring to summer training." Jiro said, swapping ideas with Momo.
"Oh yeah, maybe the two of us should browse together?" Momo offered.
"Let's see, where can I get a lock picking kit and a small drill?" Mineta asked, before security began escorting him out. "What did I do?" He cried out with comical tears.
"Uh, what just happened?" Kirishima questioned.
"I told mall security to keep an eye on him. I had a feeling he was here to buy stuff for his perversions, so when I told them to watch and listen for anything that might sound like he's up to something, they were watching him like a hawk." Pyrrha exclaimed. "Ruby and Scythe told me about the locker room scene."
"Guess I should probably buy some outdoorsy shoes for this thing." Kaminari stated.
"Oh that's smart me to." Toru stated.
"The guide said your shoes should already be broken in though." Iida said.
"There's two weeks until the training camp, there's plenty of time to break them in before then." Scythe said. "Chill man."
"But wait, perhaps it's a mistake not to factor utility into the equation." Iida said, taking a thinking pose.
"So then why don't we split up and look around? We can meet here again when we're done." Kirishima suggested.
"Great idea." Mina stated.
"Perfect let's say we're all back around three?" Kirishima questioned.
"Sounds good." The rest of the class called out.
"Oh I almost forgot to ask. Did anyone else get an E-Mail from the school about a special class tomorrow?" Scythe asked.
"Pretty much both classes did Scythe." Pyrrha stated. "Well, we're off. We'll meet back up soon."
Kirishima and Pyrrha left going for a specific store, Bakugo and Ruby left looking for a store involving some camping gear, Aoyama and Iida went off for a store that sold equipment clothing designed to go over the physical parts of their Quirks. Jiro, Momo, Sero, and Kaminari all went looking for a store with good quality backpacks and duffle bags. Tsu, Mina, Hagakure, and Shoji went to a store for swimwear. Tokoyami, Ojiro, and Koda went to a store that had hunting gear in case being at the camp meant foraging for food. Sato went to a sweets shop, which left Scythe and Uraraka by themselves, as they were just standing in the middle of the walkway of the mall.
"Looks like they ditched us." Scythe chuckled.
"Yeah, looks like." Uraraka stated.
"So what are you gonna shop for today?" Scythe inquired. "I wanna find a few heavier wrist and ankle weights to increase the resistance of my training. Today's on me."
"I mostly just need bug spray." Uraraka stated.
"Alright." Scythe smiled. "Hey Uraraka, I gotta ask. You've been looking at my aunt Ruby strangely, and blushing every time she looks back at you. Do you like her, as more than just a friend?"
Uraraka just stood there starring at Scythe for a few seconds before the question registered in her head, and her face went bright red with embarrassment.
"No I don't, why would, you ask something so personal like that, leave me alone." Uraraka shouted, running off, covering her face.
"Hey wait don't… leave me all alone in the mall." Scythe said as Uraraka disappeared from view. "Great, talk about irony. We came together as a class, but here I am all by myself."
"Hey, you're someone from U.A nice." A raspy voice said, gaining her attention. "I want an autograph." A young man wearing a black hood said, swinging his arm onto Scythe's shoulder and bringing her in for a bit of an awkward embrace. "You were the one who lost her arm at the Sports Festival right?"
"Uh, yeah. That's me." Scythe said, feeling awkward around him. 'Wow U.A's so amazing. I can't believe how many people watched the matches and still remember us. I've never had this kind of positivity coming at me from anyone besides my family.'
"Aren't you one of the students who ran into the Hero Killers in the Hosu incident to?" The man asked. "You're practically famous."
"You sure do know a lot. I was actually the one who took them both down." Scythe said, sounding ready to be over with this conversation.
"What can I say, I'm just a big fan of yours. I can't believe I'm running into you again. It makes me think that it might not be a coincidence. No-no, this feels like it's destiny." Shigaraki said gripping her neck with four fingers leaving the middle one off her throat.
'That voice, that scent. I didn't have time at the USJ to put them to memory, so I didn't notice it was him.' Scythe thought.
"Oh right, from your point of view, we haven't met since the attack on U.A." Shigaraki stated. "Why don't we spend some time catching up, Scythe Xiao Long?"
"Tomura Shigaraki." Scythe growled.
"Act natural, don't make a scene. I'm just an old friend, who ran into you at the mall." Shigaraki stated. "Calm down and wipe that look off your face. I think we should have a conversation is all. A friendly chat, oh and of course if you try to run or fight me in anyway, well it'll be fast. Soon as all five of my fingers touch your neck, your throat will be the first thing that disintegrates. In a matter of seconds you'll be nothing more than a pile of dust and powdered bone. Now change from your Argonaut form, back into a child, you'll be less of a hassle to handle that way."
"I don't think that's a good idea." Scythe exclaimed, putting her hands in her pockets, pressing a button in one of them. "It'd be best if I just stayed in my Argonaut form."
"Oh, an' why is that?" Shigaraki questioned.
"Think about it. What you just told me would happen if I refused to cooperate, would scare the living shit out of any normal person. Especially a child, and what do children do when they're scarred?" Scythe questioned.
"They cry. An' if you did that after turning back into a child, it would draw attention to us, which would force my hand to kill you. Smart thinking." Shigaraki stated. "Fine, stay in your Argonaut form. But cause a scene, and I'll turn you to dust, and not the elemental kind from Remnant either."
"If you do that in front of all these people, a pro hero will be here in no time, and you'll be caught in seconds." Scythe exclaimed. "You couldn't escape. But I'm not willing to risk the lives of how many people you'd kill while trying to."
"Smart girl." Shigaraki stated. "Oh, and I'm sorry that Zombie King ate your only hope of turning back into a boy. But if it's any consolation, my master took his Quirk before Zombie King ate him."
"Your… Master?" Scythe questioned. "All-for-One?"
"Oh so you know him?" Shigaraki questioned as they went to sit down.
"I got nothing to say to you about how I know him." Scythe stated. "Let's talk."
"This is nice. A real moment. Let's go grab a seat and get comfortable, why don't we?" Shigaraki questioned as they walked over to a bench near a fenced off garden area. "When it comes down to it, I basically hate everything, but the Hero Killer Stain, pisses me off the most right now."
"Isn't he one of your guys? I mean he was working the Adam Taurus." Scythe exclaimed.
"Not technically, but that's what the media made it look like." Shigaraki stated. "An' that's what my problem is, it's like suddenly everyone is obsessed with that stupid Hero Killer, and Taurus. The attack on U.A, the Nomu's I released on Hosu, he upstaged all of it. No one's even giving me a second thought, why is that? Despite what he claims to believe, all he really did was try to get rid of things he didn't like. What do you think the difference is between us Xiao Long?"
~Uraraka's location in the mall~
"Ugh, I can't just run away every time I get flustered." Uraraka stated. "Her question caught me off guard yes, but that was no reason to run off on her like that. I feel bad leaving her behind." She sighed before realizing something. "Hold on, Scythe is only eight. What the hell have I done? Yang's trusting me to look after her until we're done at the mall. I should go back and apologize, and stay by her side until this shopping trip is over. I mean sure she's in her Argonaut form, but she's still only a kid."
~Back with Shigaraki and Scythe~
"The difference?" Scythe asked. "Stain wanted heroes to be more like All Might. He did kill people yes, but he was misguided, thought his actions were noble, but when I fought him, an' showed him that he could have lead society to be stronger through example. So I'd have to say, the difference is in your end goals. Now let's be fair, I don't agree with anything he did, or anything you do. But I can sort of understand him. Because the Hero Killer Stain, and myself have something in common. We're both inspired by my grandfather, we're both inspired by All Might. That night, he even saved me from the flying Nomu, which I'm curious as to how, it had Grimm traits. He's a maniac, but he doesn't destroy things because of how fun it sounds, an' when things were looking bad for him, he didn't abandon his mission like you did, even if the way he acted was wrong, he held true to his beliefs. That's the difference." Scythe said as Shigaraki's grip grew tighter around her neck.
"Well, spoken kid."
Shigaraki's head flew up in surprise hearing someone behind them, before he was thrown forward by someone kicking him in the back of the head, and sent him rolling forward, which caused people to look towards them while backing away. Standing there, over Scythe who was on her knees, coughing after the asphyxiation she just experienced, was Undead Ban, with a grin on his face, and a supportive hand on Scythe's back, rubbing it softly to help her with getting her breath back. But that was just a façade, as his eyes were telling Shigaraki that he was pissed, and knew who to direct that anger towards.
"Sorry I'm late to the show kid. Merlin's teleportation has been a little wonky since she went more than a month into her pregnancy." Ban said. "So I was teleported outside the mall instead of to your exact location. But we got your signal."
"Her signal, when did she do that?" Shigaraki questioned, before he remembered something that happened. "I see. She did it while pretending to casually put her hands in her
"It's fine." Scythe said coughing a bit more, before her breathing steadied. "This guy is with the League of Villains, he's Tomura Shigaraki."
"Is that so?" Ban questioned. "This is the bastard, responsible for your paralyzation?"
"Technically." Scythe said, getting to her feet.
"Scythe?"
They turned their head towards Uraraka who was looking at them with a concerned look. Shigaraki took this to his advantage, and lunged at her, with the aim to kill her. Ban was quicker though, and got in front of her before Shigaraki could grab her, and grabbed his arm instead, causing it to disintegrate, before he ran away through the parting crowd.
"Damn, he got away." Ban stated clutching the nub of his disintegrated arm.
"Shigaraki." Scythe called out in anger.
"Shigaraki?" Uraraka questioned in fear.
"Ban are you alright?" Scythe inquired looking to him.
"Yeah, I'm fine. See look, my arm grew back and everything." Ban said, showing his regrown arm, as he pulled out his phone to report the incident. "My immortality can handle a lot worse than that. I'm reporting this right now. I might be a retired pro, but I'm still a pro, and I need to do my job."
~Kiyashi Police Station later that day~
"From what I'm hearing Xiao Long, it's sounding like they're not a monolithic organization." Tsukauchi said scratching his temple with his pen. "An' it sounds like his desire to kill All Might hasn't, changed a bit. Anyway thanks for the report Xiao Long. This helps."
"Right, I'm glad I could be of service to you." Scythe said. "I just wish I could have detained him somehow."
"Don't worry, you did a great job holding it together, when so many lives were on the line." Tsukauchi stated. "Most people would have panicked and lost their cool in that situation. No one got hurt today, because you were able to remain calm. C'mon, I'll escort you out."
"Right." Scythe said, following him. 'I didn't even get to buy what I wanted at the mall.'
Scythe followed Tsukauchi out of the police station, and they were instantly greeted by the sight of Toshinori coming towards them.
"Scythe, Tsukauchi." Toshinori called, coming hastily to them.
"Grandpa Toshi, but how?" Scythe questioned before running to him.
"I needed to talk to him anyway." Tsukauchi stated as All Might brought Scythe in for a hug.
"What a relief, I'm so glad you're okay. I'm sorry I couldn't be there to protect you and the others." Toshinori said noticing the bruises around Scythe's neck, as he released the hug. "I'm glad Ban was able to get there when he did."
"It's fine." Scythe said looking up at him, before looking down with a conflicted expression on her face. "Um, Grandpa Toshi?"
"Yeah what is it?" Toshinori questioned.
"Do you ever have times, when you can't save all the people that you want to?" Scythe inquired.
"Yes I do, and often." Toshinori said, answering her question honestly. "Someone could be injured and calling out for my help anywhere out in the world right now, and I would never know about it. I know it's frustrating, but we're only human. There are always gonna be people beyond our reach that we can't protect. But that's all the more reason to stand tall and smile. So that the Symbol of Justice is always there, even when I can't be. A flicker in people's hearts, whether they be a hero or a villain."
"She's worried about what Shigaraki said. But that was likely the villain's resentment talking. You grandfather here, has never failed to save someone after arriving at an emergency." Tsukauchi stated looking to the side then back at her. "I think we've got everything we need, so we're good. We're all done here."
"Scythe." Yang's worried voice called out.
Scythe turned to her right, to see Mitsuki, Yang, Blake, and Kali standing there with a couple police officers, tears of worry and relief mixed in both her parent's eyes.
"Mom, Mama?" Scythe asked as the duo team of heroes ran to her and pulled her in for a tight hug.
"Oh Scythe." They said, as they held her close.
"Our baby." Yang said, crying a bit.
"Are you all right?" Blake asked, sounding just as broken up as Kali and Mitsuki came to them, joining the hug.
"I don't think my heart can handle another scare." Kali said.
"I'm sorry everyone. Everything's fine, I'm okay, just a little bruised around the neck, there's no need to cry." Scythe said.
"Ban called Yang and Blake as soon as he finished reporting in what had happened." Mitsuki said. "Are you doing okay? Are you scarred at all?"
"I'm fine. The heroes and the police have been taking really good care of me all night." Scythe exclaimed. "C'mon, let's go home."
As they left, Tsukauchi turned to Toshinori and began to say his peace.
"This time at least, it appears to be a coincidental meeting." Tsukauchi stated. "But there's still a pretty big possibility that she or another student will be targeted in the future. Of course we'll continue to be on high alert here. But the school should be ready to take drastic measures. The stronger the light shines, the greater the darkness. I think that for the good of the students, you should consider leaving U.A, All Might."
"But I barely gotten started, I mean it's only been three months of teaching." Toshinori exclaimed.
"Heh, I told you before that you aren't cut out for it." Tsukauchi stated, receiving a grumph from Toshinori as a response. "All-for-One, again. This time we have to capture him."
"One more fight." All Might said, nodding in agreement to his friend's words. "I'm counting on you again, Tsukauchi."
"Yeah."
