So, I will be posting the final three chapters of this story. Still up in the air on whether or not I will do a sequel, but I might just do one shots that deal with Erin and Miranda in certain episodes of "Blue Bloods".
The evening before Erin's wedding to Jack, Erin and Miranda sit on the hood of Miranda's car, as they are at an amazing hillside view in upstate New York. The law student looks at her best friend and sees Miranda holding something.
"What's that?" Erin asked and Miranda hands it over to her. Erin opens the envelope and reads the letter.
"I got into the police academy in Boston. Passed my psych and written eval with flying colors. I report next week." Miranda said.
"I can't believe this."
"I wanted to tell you in person instead of finding out the hard way. You are always going to be my best friend."
"And you will always be mine." The women look at each other, both wanting to say those three words to each other, but they couldn't.
"Anyway, I should bring you back to the city. After all, you're getting married." Miranda said and Erin forces out a soft smile.
But not to you, my love. Erin thought to herself.
"I am." Miranda gets off the hood of the car first then reaches out with her hands and Erin holds her hands, both feeling the sparks in their connected hands.
Around midnight, Miranda is lying awake in the bed in the guest room of the Reagan household when the door opens and closes. She props up on the bed on her arms and looks to see Erin walking over. The soon-to-be bride gets into the bed, cups Miranda's cheek and kisses her lips.
"I just need one more night with you." Erin whispered and Miranda smashes her mouth against Erin's and they spend the night knowing each other's bodies for the last time.
Miranda is awake in her bed as she remembers that day. As she is remembering, Erin stirs awake, making Miranda look over and softly smile.
"What time is it?" Erin tiredly asked.
"Almost seven in the morning." Miranda said softly as she cups her cheek and they tenderly kiss.
"Did you sleep at all?"
"No. Been at the precinct most the night after Danny's friend was killed. I got in about four hours ago." Erin looks at Miranda and places her hand on her fiancée's waist.
"How's the investigation going?" Erin asked softly.
"The DA is giving my prime witness immunity, but with conditions that if she misses the trial, she will be placed under arrest and pulled from Witsec."
"How exactly were you able to pull it off?"
"Don't ask."
"My badass Captain." Erin said softly then lays between Miranda's legs and kisses her. As Miranda goes to remove Erin from her shirt, there's a soft knock on the door.
"Great. Somebody always interrupts us." Miranda said softly.
"Come in." Erin said then lays on her back and looks over with Miranda to see Heather opening the door.
"Nicky and I are going to go out to breakfast before heading to school." Heather said.
"Don't forget that at five, we have yours and Nicky's dress fitting." Erin said.
"I know. Bye." They wait to hear the front door closing and look at each other.
"Well Counselor. It's just us." Miranda said softly as Erin straddles her lap.
"It is Captain." Erin said as she slides Miranda's hands slowly up her legs and places Miranda's right hand between her crotch, making Miranda feel how wet she is. Miranda flips them over and they would have morning sex.
That resulted in them being two hours late for work.
That night, Miranda walks into the apartment and sees her three favorite ladies eating dinner.
"Hey. I didn't know when you would be back." Erin said then kisses Miranda.
"If it's ok with you, I am going to bed because I can't keep my eyes open." Miranda tiredly said.
"I'll be in there in a few." Erin said. Miranda nods then kisses Heather's head and walks to the bedroom.
"Is Mom ok?" Heather asked.
"She will be. I hope."
"Secret life's makes everyone unhappy." Miranda said and Erin looks at her at Sunday dinner.
"Do you have a secret life that I don't know about?" Erin asked.
"Why would I have a secret life when I have the best life with you, Nicky and Heather?"
"Smooth." Erin said then kisses her cheek and Linda smacks Danny's arm.
"Ow." He said.
"Now why can't you talk like that to me?" She asked.
"Sorry." Miranda whispered.
"No you're not." He said.
"No, not really." She said then looks at her ringing phone and answers the call.
"Captain Hill." Miranda said then looks at her watch.
"Nine ok?…The usual spot. Thanks." Miranda hangs up the phone.
"Who was that?" Heather asked.
"Work related." Miranda said then looks at Frank.
Frank hands Miranda a glass of scotch as she is on the couch in the living room.
"Your primary witness?" He asked.
"Yes sir. She's the key person to take down Dino and Harris." Miranda said.
"Were you able to get a deal in place?"
"She signs it in the morning then she will be going into Witness Protect. But this is the last time I'm working an investigation for you. It's already bad enough that Erin knows about this when the deal was that no one would know. Not to mention that everyone in the department thinks I'm a rat."
"There's a difference between being a rat and taking down corruption." He said.
"You and I both know that.
Miranda looks at her watch that night and sighs when a blonde woman walks over to her.
"About time, Irene." Miranda said then hands her a coffee.
"Sorry. I had to shake off some people." She said then takes a sip of her coffee as they go for a stroll in Washington Square Park.
"Once we make the charges on the Chief of Police and Amanda Harris, you will be placed in Witness Protection. I'm not going to lose my best witness on taking them down."
"Will I have to testify?" Irene asked.
"To take them down? Yes, unless a deal will be in place, which I doubt. I already had the DA approve of your immunity, but I swear to god, if you miss the trial, I will have the immunity pulled and you arrested in Witness Protection."
"I know and I understand."
"Good. Anyway, I'll be at your place at eight tomorrow morning with one of my officers that I trust to bring you over to the DA's office for you to sign everything and then you will go into Witness Protection. Ok?"
"Ok."
Miranda is in the passenger seat of the squad car as Nick is driving when he pulls over in front of Irene's apartment building the following morning.
"I thought you said to her to meet us out here?" Nick asked as they get out of the car.
"And have her snatched or shot? No." Miranda said. As they are crossing the road, something smashes into the car in front of the building, making both detectives duck their heads. Miranda looks up then jogs over with Nick.
"Damn it!" Miranda said when they see Irene on the car, dead.
